Everyone saying we couldn't afford Mbappes wages how much is he on at PSG does anybody know.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - 18m euro per year toby..

26 Jun 2021 23:24:52
So your saying there's a chance Ed?

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - he will want more to move to liverpool jadon, at least double

27 Jun 2021 00:54:18
Nah. to ģet d chance to play for El Kloppo and hear the choir that is the Kop he'll take a pay freeze i reckon.

27 Jun 2021 01:06:09
So, €500k a week. to be the main man.
The question is. if we actually met his buyout (huge if), do you think he comes to Liverpool?

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jun 2021 02:45:02
No, no, and no.

Agree2 Disagree0

27 Jun 2021 04:58:36
If we sell shaq origi keita ox woodburn, philips, williams, neco, tsimikas. I think that's 450k per week of the books. Also it would bring 50% of the money required to buy him. And if we add mane to the list there you go we can buy mbappe and still be somewhat balanced financially.
Wilson grujic taiwo ojo minamino bring us money to get ourselves a good midfielder.
So its not unthinkable but we need to get selling soon even at cut prices if we are serious to do something about it.
Out bench would need support from youth.

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Jun 2021 07:22:47
We should sell the whole liverpool squad and the reserves and buy him, use a formation of 1 and see how we get on.

Agree12 Disagree0

27 Jun 2021 01:08:36
18m before tax yeah? A simple yes or no would be. Eye opening:)

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jun 2021 08:22:29
Let’s be honest the lad will never have to worry about money for the rest of his life as it is . He’s a World Cup winner won everything in France I can understand him wanting out of PSG . Yes they are super wealthy but if he’s a serious athlete and I think he is he wants to win the lot I can see him doing the rounds in Europe and winning a lot of titles wherever he lands .
Premier league
La Liga
Serie A
Bundesliga
And some champions leagues to boot.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jun 2021 04:56:35
Hypothetically. Nike provide some financial support for the deal to get the high profile marquee signing in place. Shirt sales, profile etc would offset some of that outlay. we can dream right?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - No.}

27 Jun 2021 09:15:22
Ed025 so his on about £300k a week I think he would sign for a round the same if he wants to move and we could afford that but then salad mane VVD are all going to be looking for that to and with what they have done you could not argue so that would be the biggest problem for me one happy player and a squad of unhappy players.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - thats exactly what will happen grino, mbappe would want at least double and probably treble what he gets now mate, he is one of the biggest names in the game at the moment..

27 Jun 2021 10:49:01
Nike also have PSG in their kit stable so why would they help Liverpool? You lot need to get over this obsession with Mbappe. Only way he's ever, ever, ever going to be at Anfield is playing for the opposition on occasion.

Agree5 Disagree0

27 Jun 2021 11:36:20
Exactly what Oh Mane Mane said. Mbappe is never ever going to play for us. I honestly don’t get the link or the obsession? It’s hardly like our owners have form for pulling these sorts of deals without selling an asset first.

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Jun 2021 11:57:03
And then every other player wants a pay rise. Forget it he could end up being a coutinho, bale, sanchez etc. All these ridiculous salaries never pay off. Couldn't deliver title or CL. Overated like neymar.

Agree2 Disagree0

27 Jun 2021 12:15:48
Imagine what Klopp could do for his career, won’t happen though, I think the lads first priority is money, sadly.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jun 2021 12:53:27
Guess it depends on wether he wants to win the champions league or not.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jun 2021 14:54:57
If he wants to win the CL he'll join 13 time winners Real Madrid.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jun 2021 16:09:28
I think PSG are offering €600k a week if he signs an extension.

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Jun 2021 16:15:11
Go on European Rumours - you will see where he is going. And it ain’t Liverpool.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jun 2021 16:37:32
600k per week! They’re also linked with Messi. Love the FFP everyone follows. What’s Neymar on? I mean these two alone without possible Messi signing must cost them 1.5mil a week. Oh I just remembered Donnaruma has gone there on 500k a week too.
Have I missed FFP being scrapped?

Agree2 Disagree0

27 Jun 2021 16:49:47
Is that how it is, Eds? A player comes in on £X,000 and then the rest of the squad expect pay rises?

The only time I've heard of anything like this was when Fergie got a pay rise to stay ahead of Rooney's earnings, who was contractually due to to be the highest paid player in the club. Or something along those lines.

If, hypothetically l, we were to sign him in a free, presumably there'd be a signing on fee? How are these calculated / negotiated?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i remember shearer having a clause in his contract where he was guaranteed to be the highest earner at the club robbo and so have many others, most of them are mars bars anyway mate and as sure as eggs is eggs you can bet that klopps door will be banged on by quite a few..

27 Jun 2021 19:22:04
Goes way back that once one player gets a pay rise they all get one. Remember watching a programme about Tony Adams a few years back. He was telling a story about David Seaman renegotiating his contract and whatever he was offered it meant Adams got a pay rise without even having to look for it.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jun 2021 20:03:57
We can just bill Nike and LeBron James can’t we? Isn’t that how these mega deals work nowadays?

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jun 2021 13:55:56
Hi Ed,

Just read an article that we have enquired about mbappe from psg.

Is this true do we have any intrest and money to buy him.

Thanks.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - They are teasing you.}

26 Jun 2021 14:57:00
Thanks Ed.

That helps.

26 Jun 2021 15:41:27
How in gods name is anyone actually thinking we could afford mbappe, his wages alone are astronomical and would cause a massive knock on effect with players like salah etc. We're having to offset over 100m in losses with no guarantees of when fans are back and people are actually believing this rubbish.

Agree7 Disagree0

26 Jun 2021 17:00:54
Mbappe will never play for us. EVER. It’s almost as funny as when that scam artist Duncan Oldham (remember him? ) kept saying we were going to sign Zidane.

Agree2 Disagree0

26 Jun 2021 17:42:00
He will. Wasn't it spelled out on here last night how it would work? It's on lads.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Jun 2021 18:04:37
He's on 400K a week allegedly. No chance, nada, nowt, not happening.

Agree3 Disagree0

26 Jun 2021 19:18:27
Told yis😉.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jun 2021 19:21:01
There are two chances of it happening. Bugger all and even less. Purely financial.

Agree2 Disagree0

26 Jun 2021 19:59:48
Cant Rule it out forever, we might sign a 37 year old mbappe one day!

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Jun 2021 22:01:13
Aren’t PSG offering him a €750k a week contract as well to try and keep him? Not sure we could/ would offer even half of that.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Jun 2021 22:16:16
Sure if we ask all nicely, he might take a pay cut.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Jun 2021 22:24:26
Haha jadon. tell you what, if Mbappe signs I'll donate £100 the Ed's charity of choice.

Agree2 Disagree0

26 Jun 2021 22:29:33
We're signing M'bappe . get in.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Jun 2021 23:26:17
Donate it to me, make it up to me for having to listen to all the accountants on here😆.

26 Jun 2021 12:56:06
Hi Ed002, i tried the search function and his name has never come up on the site before. There is a rumour doing the rounds that Liverpool are looking at Christoph Baumgartner this summer. Is there any truth to this? Transfermarkt has the likelihood of him joining Liverpool at 65%. No idea how they quantify that 😂.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Christophe Baumgartner (AM) Hoffenheim are not looking to sell and his agent has said thaty they will be discussing new contracts for Christoph Baumgartner and Florian Grillitsch with the club very soon. To date three Premier League sides have asked his agent about availability - Spurs, Liverpool and Manchester United.}

26 Jun 2021 13:56:48
Probably has been brought up before. Just with incorrect spelling. Try Christopher Bumgarden.

Agree6 Disagree0

26 Jun 2021 14:09:28
For those of you who recognise the name but can’t quite place it- Felix Baumgartner is the dude who skydived to earth from a balloon at the edge of space

Let’s hope Chris can reach the same heights with a LFC career.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Jun 2021 16:49:48
Cheers Ed002. I'll keep an eye on him in his next game then!

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jun 2021 07:29:41
Stone age that was literally the first thing I thought of reading his name haha. That was a few years ago now wasn’t it.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jun 2021 12:06:43
Mbappe - I keep reading articles that we may be after him, there always seems to be the link with Lebron James thrown in.

This has got to pipe dreams, the money him and his agent would command we could get 3 world class players. Much prefer that.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

26 Jun 2021 12:35:08
We're not.

Agree2 Disagree0

26 Jun 2021 12:55:39
3 world class players like who?

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jun 2021 14:23:19
I would get Rice (admitadly not wc yet) as Henderson replacement

Sterling is going cheap apparently (people have there own opinion of him but I would put him in that bracket and would have him back)

Saka at Arsenal

I did say WC but I probably should have said WC with the correct coaching

We need these players to shore up the future.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Not going to happen.}

26 Jun 2021 14:33:19
About as likely as Mbappe

What is our market then?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea what you mean.}

26 Jun 2021 15:03:11
Rice, you’re looking at £70 odd million and can probably throw that figure at Sterling and Saka, give or take a few million. I don’t think our pockets stretch that far to repeat that transfer figure three times over. Unless you know something we don’t?

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jun 2021 15:19:29
Rice, Sterling and Saka?

Elsie you must be Gareth Southgate behind that keyboard, aren't you?

Agree3 Disagree0

26 Jun 2021 15:28:35
Ye but I’ve actually got an idea 🙃.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jun 2021 15:31:01
It does seem ambitious but you name me better young players that could be put in the first team (accustomed to the prem) . It’s difficult. Why shouldn’t we get the best players before our rivals.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jun 2021 15:25:51
Obviously I don’t know something you don’t, all I was getting at was to plow all the money into Mbappe would be ridiculous considering what we could potentially get to feather the squad.

Surely it’s not out of reach to get either Saka or Rice this window with sales of some fringe players.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool has no interest in them.}

26 Jun 2021 15:44:32
ElsiesArmy. Harvey Elliot and Curtis jones.

Agree2 Disagree0

26 Jun 2021 16:11:06
Whoever said Declan Rice and Sterling do one.

Agree2 Disagree0

26 Jun 2021 16:58:53
I never want to see Sterling play in a Liverpool shirt ever in any capacity ever again and I’m sure that view is shared by a majority of supporters.

Agree8 Disagree0

26 Jun 2021 18:46:27
I get the resentment against Sterling

But Rice and Saka could be the future for an ageing/ poor midfield.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jun 2021 19:04:56
ElsiesArmy. I agree with you on Saka and Rice. Both have great potential. My dream would be Bellingham next season to be bedded in as Henderson’s successor.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jun 2021 02:10:17
I agree on Bellingham, Alonso, get him in asap - the lad is quality. Saka will probably be better than Sancho and Rice would be a great addition. Sterling though can never - EVER - play for us again! I will never forgive him for the "songs" that were recorded at his behest.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jun 2021 05:44:11
rice, sterling and Saks
World Class. wow.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jun 2021 06:29:04
Rice and Saka would be two of them most expensive signings ever, we are not in a position to be spending that type of money, nor is Rice needed nor worth it imo. He’s not a patch on Fabinho who is in his prime at 27, it’s not like he’s mid 30s and we need to replace him.
Saka, we have missed the boat on (if that rumour had an ground when he first broke through and hasn’t signed a contract) but I do really rate him but Arsenal would be wanting £100m plus and we should be trying to push Elliot through as if we don’t what's the point in signing youth players or having a youth set up?

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jun 2021 08:39:33
4 or 5 years down the road and folks still don't grasp that Klopp prefers to develop players rather than splash the cash on ready made stars.
Transfer fever at work.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jun 2021 11:42:10
Where would this site be without transfer fever, Flash? XD What's wrong with a bit of friendly speculation? I happen to agree with you, though it's still interesting to discuss different rumours and links with players!

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Jun 2021 13:20:31
It’s more than resentment with Sterling. The way he agitated to get out of the club threatening to go on strike, the songs that he sung celebrating a Liverpool supporter being put into a coma and mocking Hillsborough. He’s vermin.
