Liverpool is targeting River plate Lucas Alario in a £9.5m deal . E. d is there any truth in this story.

Believable0 Unbelievable16

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any discussions with River Plate about Alario but it would mean Liverpool having to pay way over the odds in transfer fee and wages in order for him to qualify for a work permit.}

Ed002 why does over paying help with a work permit isn't is international appearances i think under 21's included or exceptional talent that qaulifies towards a work permit thanks.

Agree0 Disagree11

{Ed002's Note - The rules were rewritten so fees and wages as a percentile are more relevant - so Liverpool could decide to significantly overpay and get the kid - if they were interested.}

Reading we have had a £5.6 mill rejected but River Plate would accept £9 mill AND are up for negotiation SO some where between 7 and 8 would be the next move?

{Ed002's Note - And where would you expect him to be playing football for that? I have explained there are Work Permit issues.

I noted elsewhere that it is also a complex situation. Ajax and Palermo have both declared an interest with his club. In January Inter used Alario as an example of a player they could "easily buy" whilst trying to negotiate for another player they did not have the money for. It was then pointed out that his ownership is split between two clubs and third party investors. It is not simply a question of negotiating with River Plate.}

Papers reporting that we're interested in Sczesny and Oxlade-Chamberlain. Really hope that this isn't true as they're both bang average and not any better than what we have already.

£40 million in the same report, I'd say it's rubbish.

But with fsg at the helm you never know.

I'd hope it's just paper talk, I've never seen the fuss about Oxlade Chamberlain, poor final ball, runs about a lot to no end and thinks he's a centre midfielder, is nothing more than a quicker version of Milner and we've already got one of those thanks!
As for Sczesny, no thanks, he's having a decent season in a league where keepers have it easy, doesn't change the fact that he's not much better than Mignolet.

They're both average and aren't better than what we already have so nothing else to see here.

I think Szczesny is much better than Mignolet imo. don't want the ox though, always saw potential in him but injuries have stunted his main development years and it may be hard for him to fulfill his potential. Wenger still doesn't seem to know his position.

Szczesny is better than Mings but if we're going out and spending money, then maybe we should aim for good, rather than just better than mings.

Hi eds, do you think there is any truth in th Alvaro Morata rumour?

Cheers.

Believable0 Unbelievable15

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea what you are referring to but Morata remains of serious interest to Real Madrid who would like to re-sign the player (possibly for the purposes of resale) but Juventus are looking for a way to keep him unless a replacement is found - Berardi being one possibility. And the player is by all accounts happy to stay in Turin. There is also interest in him from London and from Dortmund.}

Hi eds, do you know anything new regarding the contract of Jordan Rossiter, do you think he will stay? Tried the search function but no news for a while

Many thanks

Henlow Red.

{Ed001's Note - I think his injury problems will see him stay on a short term contract until he is back fit. That is the usual deal. Then they are assessed once fit.}
