Suarez has been subject to a little more interest as the window end approaches. Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Juve hover. Very unlikely a deal will be done as no direct replacements.

Shaquiri (left side) plus cash to be invested in Muriel is a scenario that could play out.

Other than Skerts out and Sakho/Aiderweld in there will be a potential big turn up leading up to deadline.

Interesting times!

Hi Ed002,
what`s going on with Jackson Martinez? Is he staying or going somewhere? He will probably not come to Anfield (pity) unless Suarez is sold. Any truth in rumours Mo offered Torres+cash for Luis? Would that cash be enough to buy Martinez? Thank you for thoughts on all those subjects, if you find some time. all the best. {Ed002's Note - Jackson Martinez may well leave Porto but there is a significant complication right now. Porto are prepared to cash in on Jackson Martinez with varying degrees of interest from Napoli, Atletico Madrid, Chelsea, Manchester City, Spurs, Galatasaray, Juventus and Barcelona in recent months. However, whilst Porto will seek his full release clause for any sale, on the Iberian peninsula or elsewhere, they are now looking to have the player sign a new contract that will see a 50% rise in his release clause. Two bids from Juventus were turned down and both Spurs and Milan baulked at the asking price. This left Napoli who have spoken with Porto and the player and "broadly" struck a deal with the player, but not the club. They have now stepped away. Chelsea remain interested and are willing to pay the release clause - but any increase in it will end with the club walking away.

See elsewhere re any exchange. And who is Mo?}

Ed, Is there anything new with us or other teams about Lamella. Last I heard that we made a general enquiry about him from you(Ed 02). Is there anything to add?
ynwa
P.S Have a happy journey ed . I think we will miss you for 2 days. This is the time we need you more. {Ed002's Note - Lamela will almost certainly complete a move to Spurs, subject to a work permit being granted, in the next couple of days.}

Oh the joy of a Liverpool fan seeing other clubs strengthen their teams significantly whilst we do nothing and get linked to players not wanted by their clubs.

Erm, not sure how true this is.

Approach has been made to Chelsea to take Mata on loan. Rejected, but talk of a perm deal is taking place.

Eds, you heard news on this?
Thanks {Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any talks about a permanent deal taking place. Someone mentioned the approach regarding a loan being made, and certainly there has been an informal approach about a loan from another club, but that is all I am aware of.}

Believable13 Unbelievable29

Thanks 002. I understand you're a Chelsea fan. What is your view on Mata, surprised he is not a starter and If LFC did bid, who you see him interested without CL football? {Ed002's Note - Mata started on Saturday and was on the bench for the other two games - the first of which he was not really ready for. All clubs have a squad of players but only 11 can be on the field at the same time. If Mata said he wanted to leave (he hasn't) and Liverpool or any other team made an offer acceptable to Chelsea and an offer acceptable to the player, then the club would not stand in his way.}

Agree3 Disagree0

Would there be any chance of a loan coming off if Liverpool pursued this one?

If not then he would be well worth the money to buy if Liverpool wanted him, is the interet real? {Ed001's Note - it isn't happening. }

Agree1 Disagree0

Cheers 002. I'm very surprised after last season or so there is anything in the press linking Mata with a move. Should be first name down on the team sheet

Hi eds,

Is there any truth in the rumours that we have enquired about loaning Mata and that it was instantly rejected by Chelsea? Thanks {Ed002's Note - I don't know. Someone said it was mentioned on the radio.}

I think mata would be an awesome acquisition who would create goals all over the place for sturridge, Coutinho, Suarez. He'll also bang a few in himself.

Ed, how true are the rumours linking us with Ljajic of Fiorentina? {Ed002's Note - Ljajic is certainly available and certainly trying to engineer a move out of Fiorentina. An expected move to Milan for Ljajic failed to be completed initially as Fiorentina prefer not to do business with them. Torino have dropped their interest. A new contract with Fiorentina was rejected on August 23 and Atletico has immediately turned their attentions to Eriksen after being told that the player will move to Milan (his preferred destination but Fiorentina are not keen to sell to them) or Roma (his likely alternate destination). This will likely run until close to the end of the window.}

Heard whispers that Assaidi is having a medical at Stoke, not sure about this myself but have eds/posters heard anything of this? {Ed002's Note - Someone on the M6 heard a coughing sound so assume it to be correct.}

Believable23 Unbelievable6

The BBC are reporting this is the case. A season long loan to Stoke, providing he passes his medical. Hopefully if he does go on loan it will help him improve and come back a better player.

Agree2 Disagree0

I'd want him to come back a better player. He turned out to be a very disappointing signing and I'm not sure a loan spell [ even if he plays some first team games ] can make him a better player.

Agree0 Disagree1

Its been confirmed on ssn.

Agree0 Disagree1

He's gone on loan confirmed!

Agree0 Disagree0

Well who ever it was that heard the coughing sound on the M6 well done you was correct with the loan move to Stoke. Can you now hear someone cough about transfers coming in please

Agree0 Disagree1

A loan should do him good. Stoke will take points off our rivals and we don't need him this season

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't rate Assaidi at all. In my opinion he's a chicken with no head! Very rare I criticise a Liverpool player but Assaidi joins Konchesky and Wilson on my list of players who were definitely not good enough for LFC.

Agree1 Disagree3

Opinions mate I think he just needs game time, and could be a player for us, time will tell

Ed,

Was wondering if you saw any potential for LFC to make an approach for Ben Arfa before the window closes? Newcastle are a selling club and with BR stating his desire to bring in a LW.

Also, are you surprised at all by the lack of interest in Feghouli, especially considering Valencia's financial situation?

zpd {Ed002's Note - The lady sat opposite me says if Ben Arfa were to move this summer it would only be to PSG. Whilst Valencia's Sofiane Feghouli was stalling on signing a new contract in January, his agents were scurrying around looking for interest in the player as leverage or as an alternative to Valencia should he be sold. A number of high-profile clubs were approached to see if they would be interested in the player but it would be nothing but speculation on my part to suggest serious interest of not. Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Liverpool and Southampton (and probably others) were invited to take a look at the player but he was to depart for the ACON. However, Paris Saint-Germain has made more than one approach for the player but were told that he is not available. Since then a new contract has been agreed with Valencia and if they were to sell in the summer because of financial difficulties then they would look for a couple of teams to be keen enough to push up the price - otherwise they will look to hold on to the player - even though he would be agreeable to leaving.}

Ed do you know what's happening with Fernando Reges? Am I correct in thinking he's in his last year of his contract?

Thanks! {Ed002's Note - Inter Milan continue to look for a deal for Fernando. Yes, his contract runs one more year.}

Hi Eds

Is there any interest in Real Betis' Alvaro Vadillo as a LW?

A few prem clubs are following him.

thanks {Ed002's Note - Spurs, Swansea, Porto and Arsenal have shown an interest but Real Betis are not looking to sell this summer.}

Believable3 Unbelievable3

A good player - potential to be a very good player.

My concern would be that he's not close enough to the finished article as of yet and we need someone who can make an instant impact.

Hi eds, There are rumours going around that Liverpool are going to take moses out on loan, is it possible Liverpool could look for a permenant move, as money shouldn't be a problem. Or if we do get him on loan could there be an option to take him permenantely at the end of the year if we match there price. Also is there any news on a centre back coming in before september 2nd? {Ed002's Note - Liverpool has not approached Chelsea about Moses yet but I have explained that he will move on with Willian arriving - which should be wrapped up tomorrow. Moses is available to be sold or possibly on loan. I remain of the opinion that a deal can be done for Ilori - but there is a chance of losing him to elsewhere if Liverpool do not reach agreement on the price soon.}

I see on the lfc page Pacheco is still amongst the squad, is this because there hasn't been any interest in him?

Needs to leave and get played in my opinion. {Ed002's Note - There was some talk of Celta Vigo and Almeria showing an interest in Pacheco but I understand that Cordoba are of the opinion that Pacheco will be joining them this week. There was also interest shown by Recreativo but it came to nothing.}

My mate is a bus driver who drives past Melwood. He tells me that the groundstaff there are convinced that
Luciano Vietto is on his way to Anfield in January.

Eds, any light to shed on this?. {Ed002's Note - Perhaps. Luciano Vietto was one of the South American players that Liverpool took a look at in the summer of 2012. There has also been interest shown by Parma, Juventus, Palermo and Real Madrid.}

I just want to throw Andre Ayew out there again as a target and get the views of many people including eds. How would everyone feel if this was the guy to take our left sided spot?
personally he ticks all the boxes and would be great signing with pace power creativity and an eye for goal whilst still at the relatively young age of 23.
I'm sure many on here will throw me to the lions, yet again for this post like my last, but I don't have anyone in the know, and just like to throw out possibilities and suggestions? Look forward to positive and/or constructive feedback? {Ed002's Note - Marseille were told yesterday that Newcastle will be making their expected bid.}

Believable4 Unbelievable2

Better options out there for me in Turan, Muriel, Vela, Eriksen, Ince, Konoplyanka & Shaqiri.

Agree1 Disagree0

Andre Ayew, he is a good player but just a good player nothing else. he misses a lot of chance especially 1 on 1s with the keeper, and the keeper wasnt good either

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd guess most of us have never seen him in action and know little or nothing about him so won't say yea or nay over him.

Agree0 Disagree0

I believe that Ayew would be a great signing. I've only seen him play in the CL and the French Ligue 1 a couple of times, but he looks a great addition with pace and power. With such a short time left on the transfer window we should pursue such a player in stead of targeting somewhat unrealistic players, such as Eriksen (he has seemingly declined to play for us previously this summer), Turan (he plays CL with Atletico and Costa wanted to stay there as well), Shaqiri (a loan deal might be possible, but unlikely). Let's make a move for Ayew now! {Ed002's Note - You need to register to use the site now.}

Agree0 Disagree0

BigD. Eriksen isn't a Left Sided player, Konoplyanka for me is not proven enough (could be a flop), Muriel will not happen, Vela tbh I'm not even sure.
Turan is a good player, but Rodgers has his doubts about his pace&fitness.
Shaqiri, is almost too good, he's at Bayern Munich. However I do dream of him coming. For me he would be just like Cout & DS, because at Bayern he is not a starter, just like Cout & DS at previous clubs. But, Shaqiri would be better than both of them.
