{Ed022's note - Brand new player profile on Moussa Sissoko, AKA the player Damien Comoli told that he viewed him as Steven Gerrards long term replacement. www.player-profiles.co.uk - thank's all.}

There is one and only one Stevie G unreplacable

Who is Martin Kelly, who is Jack Robinson. Let's keep looking out for players so that they get fed up and go ! Let's buy a player of equal quality from Spain and then they get homesick or pee'd off with the club not winning medals. {Ed001's Note - what has that to do with a player profile of Moussa Sissoko?}

Did you miss Sunday's match? Along with the news yesterday?

RuncornRed

I like Kelly and Robbo but you are talking as if you are talking about Stevie and Messi, FYI Sissoko is not a defender even

Controversial, but good to hear an honest opinion.

eds what are the chances of liverpool replacing johnson in the summer with martin caceres? {Ed001's Note - considering it is months away, who knows? The guy could lose his leg in an accident tomorrow, or decide the world is ending in 2012 and give all his possessions away before retiring to the hills for a few years. It is far too early to say, look at the Isla injury, it can change in a flash. Are we interested? Yes. That is all we will know for at least 2 months I would think.}

A bit like Carlos Roa then Ed?

Ash {Ed001's Note - I was wondering if anyone would get that.}

Lol ed-he could decide the world is ending in 2012 an then retire for a few years,i guess the will have to be doggy years {Ed001's Note - I remember when Roa finally emerged, after realising the world wasn't actually ending, he looked so embarrassed.}

Those 7th Day Evangelists. You can't trust 'em!

Daily Fail reporting we want Hazard Keita Martinez would love it to happen just cannot see it

It looks crap. Why would we add two more CMs to a squad that already has many.

I can confirm, 100% true, Javi Martinez joined Liverpool late last night, joining up with fellow former Spain-based player Gonzalo Higuain who has been having a sensational season since arriving at Anfield in the summer. Trust me, I AM in the know- I am the Liverpool manager in FIFA 11.

Computer games are great for fantasy football

Hi Ed's! Is it any hold in the rumours that Liverpool are watching haavard nordtveit? What is ur tought about this norwegian lad? He is young and can play RB,CB and DM. {Ed001's Note - we have watched him, he was known to the club from his time at Arsenal and we kept an eye on him, there is some interest from us. Big difference between keeping an eye on his progress and moving for him though, we keep an eye on hundreds of players!}

Macca or the ed's just wanted clarity on the Suarez transfer talk. I agree it makes sense as he has clearly had a bit of bad press (slight understatement) for his various misdemeanours, but is it case that either he or the club are actually planning for his sale. Or could it be that they are waiting to see how the season plays out an it just remains a suggestion. I ask as it seems just opinion atbthe moment wondered if there was any substance?

Jim {Ed001's Note - initially there were fears he would want to leave, there were also fears it would affect sponsorship deals etc. Both fears seem to have been false, so far, so it now just depends on whether anyone comes in with a big offer or not. Other than that, I personally do not see him leaving this summer, but that is always a possibility and we would be stupid to reject a huge offer.}

What price would you call a big offer ed? Just curious {Ed001's Note - anything over 40m I would say. Or a player in that kind of price bracket in exchange. I know I would take Higuian over Suarez all day long, he would have scored 40 goals up front for us this season and we would not be worried about chasing the top four with the extra firepower he would provide.}

Would be stupid to accept a huge offer £35 mil got Carroll not exactly a success! So how much would it cost to replace Suarez?

If he does not start scoring goals, I would sell him for what we got for him. We need goalscorers.

He and Carroll up front are just not getting it done. 120 minutes against a Championship side and they managed to hit the post between them.

If there is no improvement by end of season, I would sell both for $50-55m in a heartbeat.

Sell for a big offer?? Replace him with what two mediocre players! You keep saying we can't buy top end players because we can't attract them so why start selling one of the very few we have!! Suarez is class need someone up top with him sell him and it will be a massive step back!! {Ed001's Note - but he doesn't score goals, we would be better off with a player who wasn't quite as good but could put the ball in the back of the net!}

Actually Ed we would be better off with someone who could score a load of goals AND Suarez. Letting our prized assets go is not something the club should get into the habit of doing - Xabi Alonso being a case in point. Tottenham were resilient and made sure they kept Modric no matter what and they are reaping the benefits - if we have any hope of challenging for the title in the near future then keeping our best players is of vital importance.

Suarez is not going anywhere. 100% guaranteed

FAO Ed
Why would we be stupid to reject a good offer?
Wouldnt we be stupid to be a selling club?
Dalglish, Lawro and Hansen werent sold. Barnes wasnt sold at his peak. Souness was only sold at the end of his career.
The top clubs have the most fans and income because they dont sell players.
Otherwise we might as well become another Peterborough.. or that "small club" .. Everton. {Ed001's Note - and we have kept Gerrard all through his career, other youngsters coming through that we need to keep hold of. I wouldn't need sell without replacing but I would sell if we had a goalscorer in to replace him.}

Ed002 with Commoli's Apparent comments about big players being interested in joining LFC (i never heard or seen them) and i can remember one of the Ed's saying how Commoli was friends with Hazard and his agent (im not saying Hazard will join LFC) but who else does Commoli know who you could class as a BIG player... And i dont mean height or weight :)

Cheers Ed hope you can shed some light on this even though it may cause you slight mental trauma from all the posters asking if they will join

MJ {Ed002's Note - I have no idea who he was referring to but I cannot see how DC would be buddies with Eden Hazard.}

I heard DC and Hazard are friends on Facebook. I also heard DC 'likes' Hazard....

My guess is that is the extent of their relationship :)

Gav

It could be neil ruddock. He is a big player.

But that is ed 2 because you dont seem to believe Liverpool can attract the top players so you obviously think Comoli is a liar {Ed002's Note - I could tell you lots of things about Comolli but try not to make a fool of yourself by putting words in to my mouth.}

Middlesbrough boss Mowbray rejects Shelvey deal link

Middlesbrough boss Tony Mowbray has denied interest in Liverpool midfielder Jonjo Shelvey despite reports linking the club to a loan deal for the player.

Several sources claimed a deal had been agreed for the 20-year-old prior to Saturday's 2-0 home defeat by Championship play-off rivals Reading.

"I don't know where that has come from," Mowbray told BBC Tees.

"It's definitely not come from me or any of my staff, it's not a done deal, absolutely and definitely not."

Shelvey, who joined Liverpool from Charlton for £1.7m in April 2010, was on loan at Blackpool earlier this season.

He has made 28 appearances for the Merseysiders, the last of which came in the 6-1 FA Cup defeat of Brighton earlier this month.

But shelvey con firmed it on his OFFICIAL twitter

ED001 what do you make of Comoli's comments that we are already attracting big name player's who may he be on about?

RED91 {Ed001's Note - I don't know mate, I didn't hear his comments and I haven't spoken to anyone about possible transfers since January. He could be referring to the likes of Luuk De Jong and Mauricio Isla, players that we have been linked to. I was hoping to have a break from transfer talk until close to the end of the season though myself!}

Depends on what players Comolli describes as "Big Name" really, his opinion may be different to others... Considering the game yesterday was shown in 140+ countries live, i'm sure there was "Big Name" players watching

Rocky

Give edd a break just wait till end of season He must go through about 1038474 posts a day and most of them are copy and pasted or the Same over and over again in different words !

Might as well close the site down then. {Ed001's Note - or you might as well remember that this is not called 'ask the editor about the latest name you have seen have a good game on MOTD'?{

Comolli needs to say less to the media.

Graeme Bailey reporting this morning that Commoli states big signings are already in place for the summer. Bailey is one of the most reliable sources available to us fans. Fingers crossed.

Commolli didn't say that any big name signings are in place, he just said that he knows of 'big' players interested in joining because of what's happening at the club (rebuilding, improving team I assume). Obviously it's great if we can attract the players but there's a whole lot more to it than that if we are to secure their signatures

Luuk De Jong
Dries Mertens
Javi Martinez
= title challenge on

Red Owl

Sky sports website also suggesting it. let the 'cavani to liverpool' rumours commence! haha

Commolli didnt state that big players were in place he said that big players still want to come big difference.

..........very subjective if you ask me.........

There is a difference. But once a player wants to come, it is basically a matter of money. And the owners are clearly on it.

Good things ahead, in my opinion.
