Fair play to Michael Edwards for apparently convincing Crystal Palace to part ways with £25m for Danny Ings. That's some recoup of fees etc right there, and it'll go nicely towards the Fekir deal (I hope) . Add that to Mignolet off to Beskitas for £12m and potentially Origi and Ojo.

I think Ings will do well there if he stays fit, gutted it didn't work out for him at Liverpool, I had high hopes for him but the lad was just unlucky! always kept his head though and was professional throughout, he'll always have my respect. If the deal goes through good luck Ings!

well said salah, ings is a true professional and deserves things to go his way for a while.

Unfortunately I can only give one thumbs up for that comment.
Honestly thought that Ings had klopp player written all over him. Hope he does well, wherever he goes. YNWA Danny.

Absolutely gutted for Ings, really wanted him to come good for us but he's never going to get truly match fit unless he plays full games and Bobby F has that position nailed on at the minute - hope he does well for Palace if that's where he ends up and that's an eye watering sum of money (if true) considering the bad injuries and lack of playing time he's had!

I'd echo the sentiments on Ings.

The situation does show the importance of a good rehab set-up too. It pays for itself and more, in the end.
The player gets 5% (I think) of the transfer fee and the club may get a decent price on the lad, especially considering his injury record.

It looks like a good outcome all round, really.

From day one I thought he was an ideal Klopp player.
Decent finisher and closes down from the front relentlessly.
In all honesty I don't think he is up to the standard we now need, which is testament to how far Klopp has brought the team in just a couple of years.
Still think he would be ideal off the bench but can see him doing well and gettkng back in the England set up somewhere else.
Bobby has CF nailed for us, and I think Klopp would then go to Salah before Ings if Bobby was injured.
Decent money to recoup after some big signings.

On a slightly different note, how good is it that Klopp gets his business done early. No messing around towards the end of August like under Brodge.

Andy, agree totally.

I would say though that Edwards and the team should take the majority of the credit in my view for the expediency of the business. They have been fantastic at bringing the preferred players in and moving on players no longer needed (for decent sums rather than pittance as before! )

A good deal for both parties Ings needs to be playing regularly and that won’t happen at Liverpool but it’s a shame it never quite worked out for him. Has there been any confirmation on a bid at all.

Agree2 Disagree0

28 Jul 2018 17:16:37
I agree with most LFC fans that Ings is a grafter and has had nothing but bad luck, however as a ST holder who goes home and away to every game, he and others like, Shei Ojo and Ben Woodburn just aren't regularly taking their chances in front of goal that will force their way into the first team. It does just go to prove how technically gifted our front three are in comparison. We are so lucky to have Bobby, Mo and Sadio.

Best of luck Danny. Hope you get a break elsewhere.

Hi eds and reds, first time poster and very addicted to this site, thanks for everything that you do!

Not particularly LFC related but I was wondering why some transfers are undisclosed? Is it a case of the clubs not wanting the fans to know how much they are selling or buying a player for?

Once again, thanks a lot.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - No transfers are truly undiscosed, the complete financial breakdown is included in the FIFA TMS. Clubs may not wish to discuss details of some transfers and will not want to open the discussion about what was paid, or received, for a player. The TMS includes all associated fees paid and installment data etc..}

27 Jul 2018 18:05:02
Why is it in portugal they disclose every penny?

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - They do everywhere - it all goes on the TMS.}

27 Jul 2018 19:28:22
How does one access the TMS? It appears that you need an account to login but I could not see a way to obtain an account.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - You won't be able to access it.}

28 Jul 2018 00:16:38
I wonder how many people now google 'Fifa TMS' and try to gain access lol.

Besiktas in for Mignolet according to Sky. No secret he will be sold if a buyer can be found. Any of the Ed’s aware of an approach? Thanks in advance.

{Ed002's Note - Yes.}

We seem to have a lot of links to Turkish clubs when it comes to potential sales - is it just a coincidence or do we have links there?

Thank you.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - They will be searching for loans from the English sides who over price players. Besiktas have also spoken with Everton, Arsenal and Swansea; Fenerbahce has spoken with Stoke, Everton, Chelsea (about four players), Liverpool (about two players) and Swansea; Galatasaray has spoken with Manchester City, Chelsea, Swansea, Leicester and Everton; Trabzonspor has spoken with both Liverpool and Chelsea. It is the way it is.}

The Turkish league seems to be a bargain bin for failed Prem players.
Good luck to Migs though.

Yeah good luck to him, it never worked out here at Liverpool because he wasn't good enough but he'll probably do alright in Turkey!

He just reached a level he never improved from. Never truly thought he was good enough for us but wish him
well.

His flaws have been made obvious, but let’s not forget that he also did many good things in his time with us, from his debut penalty save to his form which played a part in us getting back into the CL two years back. He always tried his best, shame he couldn’t kick on and we should wish him well.

28 Jul 2018 01:14:24
Yep I'm actually a little sad Migs never managed to bring his all around game to the required level, I will always remember some stunning saves he made, and I think I recall 5 or 6 peno saves, probably more? Not sure but maybe some were pre-season, anyone got his stats handy?

Simon Mignolet: Has saved more penalties (6) than any other goalkeeper since the start of the 2014/ 15 Premier League season.

Morning Eds,

The Liverpool Echo are linking us with a player called Lucas Paqueta and I was wondering if you could confirm (or deny) this interest and perhaps tell us a little bit about the player?

Thanks in advance.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - It is an interesting question. I am not actually aware of Liverpool making any approach for Lucas Paqueta at this time. The only direct approaches for the player I am aware of are from Benfica (who can't afford him) and Milan (who have struggled to get the AM they want and have made an approach about LP who would have been 4th or 5th option - but due to their finances and what they have to spend they would need to sell Suso to make it viable. Manchester City, Chelsea and Real Madrid have all looked at the player on more than one occasion but none has shown an interested in taking it any further at this time.}

27 Jul 2018 12:03:34
I think you said we had looked at him Ed a good while a go to be fair mate.

Agree4 Disagree12

{Ed002's Note - Ok - I take it all back, lots of clubs look at players "a good while ago". What I am saying is recently, but I will try posting just the bare minimum so you can stop you constant whining.}

27 Jul 2018 12:04:14
Whilst i haven't heard anything concrete on any interest from us other than that we have scouted him along with 15,000 other players.

from a Brazilian perspective he is seen as on of the big future stars along with the two "cheap" Madrid signings.

Not sure if he’s a Klopp style player but he’s a talented lad.

What’s his price bracket Ed002? 😘.
