We have turned down a 40 million bid from Real Madrid for suarez.
Man like D

Believable29 Unbelievable72

Don't think it's too far away to be honest, i'd be surprised if we held out for £60 million and i'd be further surprised if a team actually paid it.

Suarez wants Spain and i'm quite shocked it's taking him so long to get there, he's played 96 games scored 51 goals and created 24 assists since he moved to Liverpool and that's bloody good going in all honesty.

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought 40 mil euros was his release clause - LFC don't have a choice if he accepts. {Ed001's Note - nope, just allows him to talk to clubs, there is no release clause.}

Agree0 Disagree0

70M and we can start talking.

Agree0 Disagree0

How can they value cavani at 52 bale at 65 & Rooney at 40 an value Suarez & 40 Suarez is far superior & the stats show in post above premier league 2 nd top goal scorer ( would of been top due to ban ) but 30 goals in a season wer he misses 6-8 games is incredible in my opinion anything less that 60 is a laughable offer tbh

Agree0 Disagree0

Liverpool are in danger of losing too many characters from the dressing room
Carragher has gone reina is going according to the rumours now way Liverpool can lose Suarez he is worth more than 40 million to Liverpool not saying he is worth more in the trsnsfer market but to Liverpool he is worth a lot and I'm not saying he isn't replaceable but he's so important to the club

Agree0 Disagree0

Nowhere near enough, based on what a replacement would cost.

Hate to say it but Luis won't be seen in the famous red shirt again. He has been brilliant for us despite his stupidity of the well documented indiscretions. At this moment in time Luis has out grown our club as he did with Ajax and his departure appears to mirror the same way he left them. I feel that Brendan won't squander the fee for him in the same way kk did with his panic buy for big Andy and can not see this dragging out all summer so we can concentrate on a clear target to move forward. Its not all doom and gloom though because the stats are good when Suarez hasn't played. Think we will settle at around £50m despite what other players in his calibre are going for e. g. Falcao as these players don't have Luis tendencies to cause problems. Thanks 7 Suarez and let's hope for a bright future with the new players from the fee we will receive. YNWA

Agree0 Disagree0

Precisely that, he got banned bigredjay, 2 times in 2 seasons

Agree0 Disagree0

Why is he being valued at less than £50m, much better player than Torres was in the season we sold him (Torres was best striker in the world in 08-09, not 10-11). Suarez is as good if not better than Cavani, who's going for £50m, why's he priced so low?

Agree0 Disagree0

Actually he's been banned 3 times in 3 years, it's not just footballing ability that contributes to a players sell on value, lads.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 May 2013 11:59:26
not even 90 million and we will let him go

Agree0 Disagree0

I think the point you are all missing is does saurez want to go I personally think he's happy at Liverpool

Agree0 Disagree0

Suarez will be sold for less then £40 million.

Real Madrid's interest is with 40 million euro bid, which hasn't been formally offered.

If they do offer it, Suarez has a clause which means he can speak with Real. Just as the Ed says,

Real highly unlikely to increase the bid, once they have convinced LS. All they have to do is sit tight and let the move eventually happen because LFC won't want an unhappy player on their books.

The bid under consideration is 30 million euros paid over 3 years, with 10 million in other clauses.

Agree0 Disagree0

50m and maybe with Alonso

Agree0 Disagree0

"The bid under consideration is 30 million euros paid over 3 years, with 10 million in other clauses. "
--------------------------------------------------------------------

That can't be correct surley. 30M Euro is roughly the same we paid for him (£25M). His value as a player and to the club would dictate that at least a profit of £10M should be expected?

Even if they do turn his head I would hope that the club get the full value for the player. It would be madness if we accept anything below £35M + add ons.

Rafa Benitez is the new Napoli coach! {Ed002's Note - There was a hiccup with the previous announcement because late on it was decided that RB would do the US mini-tour with Chelsea.}

Eds can you confirm as to whether both Ander Herera and Marco Van Ginkle are currently available and if anyone is interested in them?

Both would be quality additions to our squad albeit would probably cost in excess of 15 million. I've been watching Van Ginkle for most of this season and Herera for last three. I'd love to know if we hold any interest in either of these and if not if anyone else has at present?

Jonesred {Ed002's Note - I am not sure whether or not you expect a different answer every time you ask after Herrera or not - as for Van Ginkel, there is interest from Twente, PSV, Chelsea and Ajax. His concern in a move to London surrounds sitting on the bench and he someone associated with Chelsea is to try him it would be a good move for him to make.}

Believable3 Unbelievable18

Sorry ed I've never noticed a reply on Hererra in past. Would you say Van Ginkle would be attainable if we were to make a bid then?

Playing time wouldn't be an issue at our club.

Jonesred {Ed002's Note - Impossible to say. You don't seriously expect an answer.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ander Herrera will go to Barca in the future as a replacement for Xavi. Barca will sell Thiago either this summer or next. They do not expect him to be the replacement.

Have we looked at Fabian Giefer as a possible replacement for reina if he soes end up leaving?, this guy has the potential to be a top keeper {Ed002's Note - Not as far as we are aware.}

Believable1 Unbelievable19

If we are having to replace Reina, I don't want to buy 'potential' unless of course we get an experienced keeper as well. What's happening to Brad Jones though, everyone seems to have forgotten him lately?

First post. Ed's what is the situation with Nathaniel Chalobah of Chelsea (on loan at Watford)? Do you think he'll be up for sale come the summer?

Think he could be a excellent prospect for LFC {Ed002's Note - There are no plans to sell him.}

Chelsea aren't stupid! Why would a top club sell their best youngsters? Honestly.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 May 2013 16:38:57
That'll be like us selling Sterling! It won't happen mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

Chelsea are stupid. They got rid of Sturridge and loaned out Lukaku didn't they? {Ed002's Note - Sturridge wanted to leave. Lukaku was loaned out for experience - which he got.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Chelsea don't know how to keep hold of their youngsters which is why its likely that Josh McEachran will want to leave. Another thing I don't get is why LFC didn't sign up De Bruyne and Cortouis from Genk when it is well documented that we and them have some sort of partnership.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 May 2013 12:07:23
If Suarez leaves, any chance of Lukaku on loan Eds? he's proved his quality and we would be a good club to come and get some experience for. {Ed001's Note - nope.}

Believable2 Unbelievable56

If Suarez leaves what about buying lukaku {Ed002's Note - That won't be happening either.}

Agree0 Disagree0

How are these players even in the same sentence?
IF and it is a big if, Suarez goes it would for 50m plus, and I am pretty sure that most of the fans would expect more from a replacement.

Real Madrid to offer Liverpool £40,000,000 for luis suarez. Hope to God we do not sell. what's your thoughts eds?. {Ed002's Note - Well enough known.}

Believable18 Unbelievable77

27 May 2013 07:56:07
Stick Higuain on top of that otherwise NO WAY!

Agree0 Disagree0

If we sell for 40m we need our heads checked. Listen to this, Real have been priced out of a move for Napoli forward Edinson Cavani. Now is Cavani a better player than Suarez? Hope he stay's because I think he is in the top 5 players in world football along with Messy Ronaldo Falcao Bale.

Agree0 Disagree0

Make that higuain and another £10 million. £50 million plus a player or nothing. we don't need to sell so that makes us the powerful part of any Suarez deal.

Agree0 Disagree0

Higuain is just a striker like sturridge.
we need a suarez type player. creates atttack, scores, free kick, works hard.
you don't find too many players with all these attributes

Agree0 Disagree0

Regardless if its true or not, always said it would be that price maximum!

Agree0 Disagree0

We will not sell Suarez unless we already have a replacement lined up, but I agree with gazz, £35M plus Higuain

Agree0 Disagree0

If Torres went for 50m with a poor injury record, than I think 60m is a about right for Suarez but I we should make a stand and not sell our best player if we want to do anything next season

Agree0 Disagree0

Higuain is rubbish

Agree0 Disagree0

27 May 2013 10:16:30
This story came from the tabloid hence a load of bull! Real Madrid will move for Gareth Bale especially now Barca captured Neymar and Daniel levy will drag the very best price for him from spurs. Just hope we either hold off other clubs coming for Suarez or we only sell for a ridiculous high fee.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah he's right they have launched a bid now. they have missed out on neymar and cavani so they are going for luis

Agree0 Disagree0

Suarez would probably be worth their whole attacking frontline (excluding Ronaldo who is a winger)!.

Agree0 Disagree0

Push fer 60 mill and then think about it ONLY. In the current market they're having a george giraffe. He's worth so much more, hope he stays.

Agree0 Disagree0

FSG want to sell Suarez ( they have had enough of him)

Suarez wants to leave but won't admit it openly.

If a club makes an offer, he will be gone.

And that figure of £40 million will be more than enough. Don't forget it will be paid over years, not as a lump sum. Continental clubs break down all transfers like that

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed's how are buyout clauses set?. If so we could just push the buyout clause of each important player to minimum 40M!. That way it is ALWAYS a Win-Win situation for us!.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed002, Do you think Real could offer Coentrao as part of a player plus cash offer for Suarez (I was reading the Spurs search engine on Bale and saw your comment there)?
The Juicer

Agree0 Disagree0

To be honest suarez scores a lot of goals but Liverpool have won 90% of the games they've played without him

Agree0 Disagree0

FSG will only sell suarez for 70 million. Anything less than that won't be considered. John Henry knows if Liverpool sell suarez for 40-50 milliion, they would have to spend the same amount of money for a striker with half the abilities of luis. In addition if suarez left, it would be for barcelona and not madrid. Barcelona have Neymar and they are not interested in him anymore.

Agree0 Disagree0

Suarez worth to Liverpool is what Messi is worth to Barca, I don't know where this £40 million valuation came from so why would we sell for that price knowing you couldn't get a replacement of equal quality for nothing less than double that price.

Agree0 Disagree0

Unless he wants to go, I think it will show a step backward not forward. We must keep him and build on last season. MUST!

Agree0 Disagree0

Might have my figures off a bit (I'm sure someone will let me know if I do), but I think we won 7 out of 12 without Suarez in the 11-12 season and 7 out of 9 without him this season. For me, we'll be just fine if he goes as we've certainly had to play often enough without him to see that we're not an awful side if he's not in it.

That said, I suspect what will happen is he'll leave (because he wants to, in my opinion) and the owners/BR will be blamed for it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Poor Luis Suarez must be shattered he will be signing for Real Madrid and then a quick stop off to Germany to sign for Bayern Munich. On the way back to England he will stop off in Manchester to sign for City wow he will be out of breath.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well if he wants to win major honours then he`ll be out of Anfield ASAP

Agree0 Disagree0

What's annoying me here is the idiocy of some people believing Liverpool will be lost without Suarez. It's a team game, as pointed out, we have done quite well during his bans and won matches without him. He scores some terrific goals yes, but he also squanders some great opportunities too with his greed. It's a team game.
If Liverpool get a decent offer I would agree with a sale. I think £35million + is a good offer.

Agree0 Disagree0

£50 and he's gone, he'll want out if a big Champ League team makes an offer and I can't blame him. Liverpool is a stepping stone for players now it seems.

If we are not ploughing 100's of millions on transfers, player wagers and agent fee's then it is seen as dampened ambition.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm not sure the owners are dumb enough to sell Suarez for only 40M. even if they did want to sell him

Hi Eds, not strictly Liverpool related, but is there any known interest from teams in in Basel's Valentin Stocker or Mohamed Salah? Thanks in advance.

Brian from Birmingham {Ed002's Note - Borussia Monchengladbach are negotiating a deal for Stocker. Inter Milan, Spurs, Fiorentina, Genoa and Marseille have been showing an interest in Salah although Marseille have moved their attentions elsewhere now.}

What's the situation with shelvey heard there's interest from cardiff

Believable41 Unbelievable12

He's definitely not in BR's first team plans as he can't play the fast-passing style as well as most others. Similar situation to Carroll - the strong, dynamic players being sacrificed for skillful technicians. Pity as he will be great, but you got to have a system!

Agree0 Disagree0

Bellamy probably advising them. He knows a good prospect when he sees one.

Agree0 Disagree0

It is for loan only. Without the continental games he won't get a game so it is best if he goes elsewhere for a while.
