Anyone know the other clubs in fekir?

Believable10 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Five other clubs have shown an interest and there has been a discussion with two of them. I would discount three of the sides and there is nothing new to what has been previously explained.}

27 May 2018 19:29:36
Cheers ed is it the case Liverpool have progressed further then the others in negotiations etc or is it all still level at those matters? And do u know if fekir himself has a preference? Thanks again 02 šŸ‘šŸ¼.

Agree6 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any negotiations between Liverpool and his club. The claim from a journalist 10 days or so ago saying it was a "done deal" led to Lyon looking to see if there had been an illegal approach. Regardless, I expect that Liverpool will look to speaking formally to Lyon soon.}

Has there been an illegal approach ed? Hope they've learnt their lesson!

{Ed002's Note - They don't know - a journalist announced a deal had been reached with Liverpool and Lyon knew nothing of such an agreement. Hence the statement from them saying that Liverpool has not contacted them.}

Hope that they make that formal approach and sign the guy. He and Keita will be cracking signings.

I've never really been interested in the like/ dislike buttons, and I'm not bothered what post of mine get's disliked/ liked it's all irrelevant BUT when I'm thanking an Ed who goes out of his way to help us out, how is that bad? 5 odd individuals out there that's for sure, at least tell me what's wrong with me thanking an Ed? maybe instead you should join in thanking Ed2 for his constant info, it's not hard to appreciate/ respect the good things in life, in fact, it's very easy, well it should be.

I can't thank the Eds enough, why? because of their knowledge/ info, info they don't have to give us but choose to for free, I don't know many people in life who'd do such a kind act these fellas are doing.

Thank you Ed1, Ed2, Ed25, Ed333 and all other eds.

Let the dislikes come in ;) .

Absolutely gutted for the boys - not for the result but for the manner of it. I was really hoping for some beautiful attacking play worthy of our run to the final, but while the first 30mins promised much, the way Salah was dragged down and injured, and the way we played so poorly after he left, and watching Karius crumble on the big stage was devastating.

I sincerely hope the whole team can pick themselves up from this, as we seem to be on the brink of something truly special. The biggest disaster of all would be if we let something like this impact the momentum going into next season.

Now for some home truths

- I've always felt the gap between our front three and the rest was ridiculously big. So it proved last night, not just in talent but also in style. Our game relies on Firmino dropping deeper to act as playmaker and to create space, with a pair of wide attackers able to use their pace and movement to take advantage, get into the box and score. We clearly don't have anyone else in the squad able to do that apart from Mane and Salah, and with only one of them on the pitch the opposition can shut us down all to easily. We need a top top wide attacking forward in the transfer window to allow us to remain a threat if any of the front three are injured/ need a rest. It's critical. RM must have been laughing when we took off Salah and brought on Lallana. They knew we wouldn't be nearly as dangerous.

- I've been proud of Gini and Milner individually this season, they've given everything, but it is also clear that they both need the front three to click or we look toothless. Without Mane, Salah and Firmino on fire, our midfield is exposed for what it is - workmanlike. We need someone able to pick the game up and create danger if the front three are struggling, and hopefully Keita is that player. Kroos and Modric schooled us once Salah went off and we can't let that happen again.

- GK. I've been one of Karius's backers, mostly because Mig's was clearly not the answer, but I think Karius will take time to get over this, and the team will need time to trust him again. I think it's critical after the final that we go all out for the best GK we can get to start next season. Karius may come back, and I hope for his own sake he grows to live this down and succeeds in the long run, but unfortunately we can't go into next season with him as our no.1, there's too much at stake

- Finally, I think Klopp missed a trick. It was clear going into half time we were struggling with Lallana out wide. I think he needed to shake it up and put Ings or Solanke on earlier and dropped Firmino into the 10, with Lallana in midfield. We should have realised we lacked any threat, trusted our FB's to push up to create the width and pace instead and really gone for them but that's always easy to say in hindsight.

I hope above all we get over this performance and learn, continue to grow and strengthen the squad. We've had some incredible memories from this season and we can do better still if we don't let this get to us.

YNWA lads. Thanks for a wonderful season and here's to the next.

I don't have qualms with lallan being brought on, throwing an inexperienced player into a game like that would be hard. I think we should have matched their diamond and played firmino and mane up top. We know they'll roam around anyway.

Win as a team, lose as a team. Don't care what the results is they are my team and I am proud they made it to the final. "If you can't support us when we lose or draw, don't support us when we win. ". -Bill Shankly.

28 May 2018 01:07:30
My bad - of course Ings wasnā€™t an option, i guess the point was, we didnā€™t have another wide forward that Klopp could replace Salah with, we were forced to changed our system and we went from being on top to being under pressure the rest of the match.

28 May 2018 07:10:17
Hindsight is a wonderful thing. Reality is Klopp watches his players daily and is in a better position to judge. We lost, we will recover and hopefully use this as a great catalyst to go again. Onwards and upwards.

Inexperienced players - Trent alexander and Robinson were pretty inexperienced.

Agree1 Disagree1

28 May 2018 10:08:10
Woodburn should've been given a spot on the bench and would've been a better option than Lallana. He's the kind of player who can come off the bench and produce a bit of magic, like on his Wales debut for example. The fact we had 3 defenders and 2 midfielders on the bench certainly didn't help. I still don't think Klopp did all he could've to get back into the game, waiting until the 83rd minute and then bringing on Can was pretty pointless. If you need a goal, bring on a striker for dog's sake. Or even Moreno could've had more of an impact, and of the options that were on the bench I'd actually have brought him on to play inside-left instead of Lallana.

Agree1 Disagree0

28 May 2018 10:45:30
I would personally have put on Solanke and played Firmino more as a 10 but everyoneā€™s a genius with the benefit of hindsight.

Agree0 Disagree1

28 May 2018 15:19:41
Yeah SGRed that would've been worth a shot as well, and of course hindsight is 20/ 20 but my main point is that Klopp did nothing at all. Seemed like he was as stunned as the players were by the combination of the three shocking moments, but that is exactly when you need a manager with a cool head to put any kind of plan in place to try and save the game. Don't get me wrong, I love Klopp, but it's a definite weakness of his.

Agree1 Disagree0

28 May 2018 23:34:44
Agree Jurgen Meister. Kloppo gets his subs wrong often when we're losing.

First of all, Ings should've been on that bench as the most like-for-like for the front 3. Of course, not in quality but at least in mobility and versatility. He would've been my choice when Salah webt off injured. We needed to keep the width and stretch them.

Even when we went 2-1 down I would've brought Clyne on at RB and pushed TAA forward. Take Milner off as his legs were done and slot Lallana in the middle. Lallana always struggles playing wide.

Oh well, game is done and I'm not a coach lol.

Interesting Napoli came out and supported karius almost immediately saying anyone can have a bad game. probably the understatement of the year but whilst you wouldn't wish that on anyone I think he's a busted flush at Liverpool now and this could a possibility for him?

We'll wait and see I guess .

{Ed002's Note - Macca has already listed the players who will be joining for you.}

27 May 2018 12:29:11
Hi Jim

List macca gave is below but didnā€™t say they will be joining, was just a list of who he says we are interested in and how it would be great if they all come off. Obviously things can change at anytime

May 2018 22:51:34
Here goes.

How many will i get right.

Tarkowski
Fekir
Dembele
Butland
Cabellos (courtesy of the Eds. )

Great if they all come off.

Donā€™t understand the tension between Ed002 and Macca. Both provide valuable insight and opinion. Canā€™t we all just get along?!?! Ha
Hopefully the Butland and Tarkowski links are false. Much rather Allison and a quality CB. Fekir and Dembele are top notch so we should be aiming for this quality in the GK and CB area also.

Itā€™s not the Edā€™s and Macca., itā€™s the morons who try to play them off against each other.

Agree8 Disagree13

27 May 2018 13:12:38
Don't know about tension but when Macca posts everybody claims that this player is no good or the player isn't up to our standard and then leaves it like that and then leave the mess for the eds to sort out. I do appreciate when Macca and the eds gives us any information after all this is a rumours site.

Agree2 Disagree1

27 May 2018 13:14:06
At this moment Iā€™d take all of them. If those are the players who Klopp wants then they are welcome.

There are negative posts, reviews and thoughts on here about Ox, Robbo and Salah. All three improved at a level that none of us expected so we are all feeling it today but if that lot joined tomorrow Iā€™d be happy to see where Klopp goes with it.

Agree6 Disagree2

27 May 2018 13:16:39
I'd just take Fekir of that list. Don't need him and Dembele. The other ones not convinced, maybe Ceballos.

Agree1 Disagree5

27 May 2018 13:49:20
Ceballos has no interest in coming to England and wants to go back to Betis, fee being talked about is Ā£14m yet Madrid will ask us for upwards of Ā£35-40m for a bloke who has splinters in his arse. Butland makes fat too many mistakes and is not an answer. Tarkowski is a donkey at best and a Man United supporting one at that, if his lack of tangible ability wasnā€™t enough. Dembele has literally done nothing in his career to warrant a Ā£100m fee and his hamstring appears to made out of crisps.

Agree13 Disagree5

27 May 2018 20:27:25
Ed002 why do you keep posting "the players who will be joining" when macca didn't post that, we have all seen the post and makes you sound a little pathetic, seems you have the problem with macca yet the eds moan we are the ones playing the eds and macca off each other?

Agree4 Disagree6

{Ed002's Note - I have not seen his post and if you think I am pathetic it would be best if you stopped reading the site altogether. I have nothing against Macca and get nothing but abuse from the halfwits like you everytime he posts something. If Macca did not say they were the players joining it is a change of tact from him as generally that is what he has done. If you want Macca's posts deleted I can arrange that. Quite frankly I don't know why he bothers sharing anything with you at all either.}

27 May 2018 23:46:29
I have read this site a lot over the past few years, and ed2 has consistently been providing the benefit of his knowledge and judgement. It doesnā€™t always turn out that what is predicted happens, but the fella ( along with macca) are a lot closer than most on here. Yet, they are both constantly questioned and harangued rather than just appreciate that they give us what they know and say thanks. Itā€™s not always going to be correct, things change, players and clubs make other decisions and itā€™s nout like football Manager, but itā€™s always interesting. The site is poorer for ed02s easing back, but I understand why heā€™s done it. I wouldnā€™t stand for the ingratitude and stick that seemingly comes from being straight with folks on this page. Eds, keep er lit.
Now, for a a rumour. I heard ken ageruo is in town. ;-) .

Agree4 Disagree1

28 May 2018 00:52:21
Perhaps with Maccas info you need to RTFP before commenting, Ed? šŸ˜ƒ.

Agree2 Disagree2

{Ed002's Note - I don't look at the website at all - but perhaps people should not quote all of the "done deals" they think he tells them about.}

28 May 2018 08:54:37
Tarkowski would be a replacement for Matip (injuries) or Klavan (quality) . Maybe both if Gomez is moved from right back to centre back.
Fekir would be a replacement for Coutinho. In the short term he replaces Ox (injured) and long term he replaces Lallana (injuries and quality) .
Dembele would be a replacement for Sturridge (injuries), Origi (quality) and Ings (injuries and quality) . Offering actual competition up front.
Butland would be a replacement for Mignolet (quality) and direct competition for Karius starting games.
Cabellos would be a replacement for Can and keep Grujic (quality) out on loan for another year to gain experience.

Fekir and Dembele add first team quality straight away, like Mane, Salah and Van Dijk did. Keita will do this also.
Tarkowski, Butland and Cabellos look likely to become the same signings as Robertson, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Wijnaldum. At first they'll be considered squad depth until they prove their value and work their way into the team.

I personally don't think we're going to sign a centre back or a holding midfielder unless we can get real quality in those positions (Like Alderweireld and Jorginho) . I also am not convinced on Butland and would prefer a goalkeeper like Alisson to compete with Karius.

I know it's not realistic, but let me dream.

Alisson
Keita
Fekir
Dembele.

Tarkowski, Butland and Ceballos = Diuoff, Diao and Cheyrou. Not the players who will help bridge a 25 point gap with City or beat Real Madrid.

Agree1 Disagree1

30 May 2018 01:16:40
Frankly Mr Shankly, a 25 point gap can not be bridged by Liverpool alone. The whole of the Premier League needs to not be bent over backwards by City like they were this season. Liverpool proved that if you can play a pressing game that you can dominate and win the game. Man United proved that even after defending deep, you can counter and go at them to win from behind. Wigan proved that even as a small team you can get a goal and hold on to that lead against them to win. These matches should be what most clubs look at and use to not let City get to 100 points again, probably stop them from getting over 80. We would then need to only improve by five points or so and that just means getting more points against the top six, which we struggled to do last season.
