If true then that shows a real lack of class from Liverpool. We’ve tapped the player up to the point he is desperate to join us. Messed Leipzig as they will now have a player that wants to be elsewhere.
Not very good from us at all.
I’m hoping it’s a case of trying to get the price down for him so we can get him cheaper. Even still it’s not good behaviour from the club.

As far as I’m aware, we were never in the race for Werner in the first place? The furthest it’s gone so far is a potential illegal tap up, no formal approach to RBL as Ed2 has confirmed on numerous occasions.
This is a nothing news story. It’s like me pulling out of the marathon having never entered myself for it in the first place.

Can't believe as fans, we haven't learnt anything, about the secrecy in which Edwards tries to do the transfer dealings. a lot of the talking regards Werner is actually coming out through Werner and Leibzig themselves. His manager even talked about it last night. CEO a few days ago. Let it play out. there's no rush. And nobody knows exactly what's happening in background!

Personally Werner at 50 mill is worth every penny. Obviously every transfer is a risk but we ain’t going to get another player of that calibre for the 30 odd mill we paid each for our current front 3. To be honest our transfer team are very very good but they sure know how to sell a player and scrimp on buying one.
Apart from Fab and Allison we seem to drag our heals and drive prices down which can cause issues like we did with VVD and now Werner. If true that they don’t think Werner is worth it after being a proven German international and top player in a top league and still demand 130 mill for Coutinho and 15 mill for Ibe, 20 mill for Solanke etc is astonishing.

I'd much rather go for Havertz if it's one or the other. I can't see Werner fitting in this squad well.

No one will be paying 70m for Traore or 90m for Havertz. Or anything much for anyone.
Broadcasters don't want to pay up. And fans are not allowed into stadiums.
Football is facing a financial crisis for the ages. There will be more clubs going into administration than there will be transfers.
