Ed001/2 any new strikers and GK we have been linked to? Karius is a lad I've heard a lot, any truth in this eds?

Also I was slated in the site when I said Sturridge is a waste of resource and one person had the audacity to say on form he's a good as Aguero? I don't know what he was smoking. He's played 70 games for LFC and missed 68. It's no where near good enough. Sturridge isn't fit to wear Agueros boots. New striker is needed. Compliments to Suarez for making him and sterling seem like real class players.

{Ed002's Note - Mainz's Loris Karius transfer was linked with Benfica, Borussia Dortmund, Arsenal, Schalke and Valencia in January 2015. Previously played for Manchester City. Clubs do not look to sell firts pick goalkeepers in January.

Everyone tells me that Pato has signed and abuse when I say he hasn't. With Firmino, Benteke, Origi, Sturridge and Ings, it is not as far as I can tell a priority. And then there will be Balotelli to perhaps return as the savior as well. Tough to see a striker coming in without someone leaving.

Sturridge is class and to he fair Agueros injury record is holding him back as well.

I think personally Sturridge fully fit is as good as anyone the but is when is he actually fully fit.

Let us assume that Liverpool have spent serious cash analysing Sturridge's situation and have been told its worth continuing with him because his problems are solvable, if you were in charge what you do?
I for one am here to Support Sturridge and Liverpool FC!

The attitude towards Sturridge in these forums is getting depressing. The fans here are acting like Board of Directors and Shareholders at the same time. We have a coach and financial directors who get to evaluate when a professional footballer has become a "waste of resources".

I, as a fan, don't care how much Sturridge is getting paid, he is one of our better players, has scored important goals for the team, and (at least to my knowledge) has not let us down with his behaviour or by wanting to jump ship when we were not playing well. So, I hope he will recover from the injury, and come back to score goals for our club until proven wrong.

To take a different view - based on Sturridge playing in 70 of a possible 138 games - in my job which lasts all year round I know what would happen if I rocked up for 27 or 28 weeks out of 52.

Nobody is doubting the lad is a class player. Nobody his doubting his loyalty to the club - though cynically you could argue that his loyalty maybe at least partly due to the regular pay cheque irrespective of him playing or not. To me the doubt is his mental approach. Nobody on God's earth is at peak physical fitness 100% of the time. Sometimes you have to suffer a bit of hardship. The lad seems to me (an outsider admittedly) to shy away.

Am off to check the Southampton page on this site to gauge the level of abuse being directed at Jay Rodriguez, he was out for a year with an ACL came back and broke down in training and is now out for another 3 months.

I love the irony of some of the comments about Sturridge.
What to get rid because he's injured and then sing ynwa.

You cannot compare a normal 9-5 job to that of a pro footballer, weak argument . Sturridge is injured and it's not his fault so we have to wait. Simple. The lad doesn't want to be injured does he. Some people need to chill out and not be so ready to sell a player who on his day is devastating. i love Sturridge and want him in my team, which does make it very frustrating but I won't jump on the sell him bandwagon YNWA.

Hey ed002, I was just wondering if pato has signed, then why have the clubs stayed quiet about it? Is it just a contract thing where they can't announce a deal until the transfer windows open? Not doubting you at all, just wondering how it all works. Cheers.

{Ed002's Note - You will have to ask all of the Liverpool fans who say he and ter Stegen have already agreed to move in January.}
