Hi Everyone,

Hope this is posted in the rumours, I think people should start taking notice of Mr Yellow he was one of the first to speak regarding Coates and Ruiz. Macca is brilliant but I think Mr Yellow is starting to make a name for himself too. Keep it up Eds, Macca and hopefully Mr Yellow in the not to distant future.

Jimmy YNWA

How can he be the one of the first to mention Ruiz when we have been monitoring the Costa Rican since last season? Unless, of course, he posted a rumour away back then! {Ed028's Note - I think he means this transfer window when he mentioned a enquiry/bid was imminent}

Thanks for clearing that up ed! :)

Jimmy YNWA {Ed028's Note - No worries}

Maybe your mr yellow!!

Utter garbage Jimmy. Use the Search function and you will find he was over a month late on Coates and about 12th to mention Ruiz. The evidence speaks for itself. Yellow dates his own first mention of Coates and the search function shows several people pre-dating him. Anyway Jimmy, you might as well use your Mr Yellow sign off for now.

Make a name for himself? By reading other peoples posts then repeating them? Answer this Jimmy, if that is making a name for himself, what does that mean for Chi Paul who was THE first to mention Coates? Is he the messiah? If you look back, Mr Yellow has irritated more than a few with blatant plagiarism and despite being exposed, STILL has not acknowledged people that pre-dated him. I have no doubt if we sign Coates and/or Ruiz he will continue to ignore other people's contribution to this great website and still claim the credit himself.

A name for himself yes, as a 1st Class Bullsh1tt3r who is slowly mentioning every player who gets attention on the site and claiming them as his own. Talk about spreading your net thin! A search on the forum shows he did not mention any of our actual signings so far - just players that everyone else is already talking about!

Sky Sports ;
Peter O'Rourke - Liverpool have issued a magnificent £30m bid for Robin Van Persie, rumours say that Wenger is ready to accept the bid to sign Eden Hazard!

From his Twitter!!

"UKSP"

Wenger would never let him go aswell {Ed028's Note - I doubt that either, I can't even find it on Twitter}

Wtf!!!! would rather have better for 30 mill must meen 30 mill for wallcott and RVP

Nothing on his twitter of the sort @SkySportsPeterO

Some kids tried to start the rumour on facebook i think, wouldnt read anything into it.
does Peter O'Rourke even exist?

Stu. {Ed028's Note - I wouldn't read anything into it either, he does exist his twitter is above}

Nice one Ed, turns out it's from some Suarez fan page. haha.

Stu.

Is it true Commoli was at the game though? {Ed028's Note - Yes, he was at the game}

Seen this on Facebook too

"UKSP"

Very much doubt this he is past his best he is 28 and injury prone

Theres a video of him singing You'll Never Walk Alone to Liverpool fans on YouTube. I'd love if it turned out to be true but i just can't see everyone being happy with the rotation systems if he were to come. {Ed007's Note - Feyenoord sing YNWA as well, I think that is where the video came from.}

1. £30 mill is way too high. 2. He's now late 20's and picking up injuries. 3. Wenger would have a coronory before he sold him. 4. If it turns up on Twitter or Facebook the story will be a pack of lies. Apart from that the story's believable!

30m for a 28 year old striker who averages around 20 games per season due to injuries. Even with a 1 in 2 goal ratio we would only be pulling in a 'Dirk' amount of goals per season.

Dann could be going to QPR. Coates very close to finalising Deal.

28 Aug 2011 22:05:19
Leandro from Gremio linked with us?

Source???

It's all over twitter, not the best source I know.

DC is a Inteligent Guy. Man U vs Arsenal so sure he want to go and watch it. its not that every time there are transfer time he will watch the match. DC is a football releted person and Man u Vs Arsenal is a big match.

Only three days to go to the end of the tramsfer window, which is the busiest time for any Director of Football, so Damien Comoli attended the Man Utd game for a reason. Will never do business with the Mancs so must have been there to do business with Arsenal - either a purchase or a sale? Martin Skrtel to Arsenal maybe?

Martin Skrtel to Arsenal, are you for real, if this were the case arsenal reps would have been at anfield, dc would not go to united to discuss selling a player to the away side, he wouldnt go anywhere to sell players, they come to us, basic stuff, you really should know this

Likely United would never do business with us! I really doubt the Skrtel idea since we'd need to sign Coates and another CB as well all within 3 days!

And if we r selling skrtel to arsenal, why would that mean dc needs to go to watch them play?

Van p 2 the reds

Liverpool have made their move for Daniel Sturridge. An offer has been submitted to Chelsea, which, up to press, is awaiting response. No mention of Raul Meireles being part of any potential deal.

Negotiations continue with FC Twente over Bryan Ruiz. The outcome of the Sturridge bid may well decide where we go with this. It would now appear that Sturridge is our first choice. We may well have set up a move for Ruiz as the fall back option. If Chelsea don't play ball, expect a late bid to be tabled for the Costa Rican.

Personally, I would have Ruiz as first choice, but they may view Sturridge more favourably, for his Prem experience (if limited), and also his raw potential.

Either player would improve the current squad, and would prove another superb piece of business by the Gaffer.

Mr Yellow

I would prefer Ruiz because he would offer us more than Sturridge going forward. But i won't mind Sturridge as well.

BooDaBooze

Think sturridge would be a great addition to the squad, hope miereles isn't included in deal as could be great in PL if he gets more game time this season, Bryan ruiz an option but have to disagree and would prefer sturridge

Either great

And where have you heard the Sturridge drivel from?

Absolute nonsense. Hopefully when you have been proved wrong on Wednesday, you won't come on here again with your uninformed views

What about Craig Bellamy? I thought he was the back-up striker who is signing?

Adam

Complete rubbish and guess work. Use frequently mentioned names from this very forum and put them into sentences so it makes you look informed. How would you possibly know that? Even players would not know that sequence of contingencies and back ups. I suspect you are not KK, DC or in their close group. What idiot would trust someone with that sort of information who runs to this forum to blab. Genuine leaks or disinformation would more likely go to a paper not here.

To quote delboy:

"Can you smell that? What is that? Sheep is it? It's cows? No, no, I know what it is. It's bulls**t!"

Oh here we go, no matter what actually happens, Mr Y will say he had it covered. I can see it now, the minute it looks like we sign someone else ("Player X"), Mr Yellow will be "Negotiations continue over Ruiz and Sturridge. The outcome of the Player X bid may well decide where we go with this. It would now appear that Player X is our first choice but Ruiz, Sturridge or another player with two legs as a fall back option. You read it here first, I was the first to tell you. All the people who mentioned it before me hacked the website and backdated it. ps. I was also the first to mention the Persians were coming to the Greeks not Pheidippides. He only got the limelight because he died after the marathon. I ran it in 2 hrs 2 mins"

Is the Arsenal situation worse than what we went through last season and will Arsenal be able to turn it around?

Oh its worse, like imagine we have lost gerard and torres n had carragher out n a few more out,

Arsenal are in tatters. Wenger has 3 days to spend money and which players will want to join a team who have just conceded 8 goals and mostly have kids playing for them? Yes Arsenal are in a much worse position than we were last season.

Red4ever

Like it matters to us? had to check i was on the liverpool page! who cares. bring em on! [ united ]

A team with money that doesn't spend is in a worse position than a team without money (us last year) that can't spend. Money can always come in (us this year, city, malaga), but if it's already there why would Kroenke et al want to leave / free up some cash for player purchases? They'll have to crash out of the top four this year for that to happen, which could not look more likely. They're the inevitable 10 game mid season injury to RVP away from a truly embarrassing year.

TheKaiser

It's hard to say who are/were in the worse situation. Hard to compare, I think.

When it comes to players leaving, players injured and suspensions, I reckon they are in a far worse situation than we were.

Un the upside for Arsenal, luckily for them, they do at least not have to battle a talentless manager and some owners trying to destroy their entire organisation. Gillett and Hicks made our situation far worse than that of Arsenals, in my view. Along with the presence of Hodgson. At least Arsenal still has - at least - stabile owners, and Wenger.

But who cares on this forum now - we are home free and on the way up :) YNWA.

Why do people think we will sign Walcott?

Do you really think Arsenal will sell him after today's result?

We have more chance of signing Kun...

He could hand in a transfer request

Hes a liverpool supporter with his dad apparently. must get a bit boring with no one to speak english with dont ye think?

Why in the name of all that's holy would we want walcott? He's useless. Runs in a straight line very fast. No end product. Another over-hyped English player.

No end product? on the wing i have to agree with you,but played as a striker which is what he is,i think he would be a fantastic signing for us.But cant see it happening to be honest.

Ginerbolox

He's a Liverpool fan and if he hears Liverpool (a club on the up) are in for him, he could easily push through a move now that he's had to play in a match like today's. If we bid 20million for him and he wants to go Arsenal are unlikely to turn that down. You may say it's overpriced but you have to pay for quality and he's an ideal player to sign.

Red Ollie

Walcott hasn't improved in his technique, technical ability or spatial awareness since he was 18.

We DONT NEED HIM

KD doesn't want to buy players especially a winger like wallcot? all that pace but can't cross for sh1te, he also has no technical ability even as a striker he has doubts just a slightly better version of Lennon. KD would be looking at players like adam jhonson or possibly hazard.

28 Aug 2011 14:43:21
Hi Ed, what's the deal with Bellamy?
Is he likely to go to spurs or come back to us?
Also with all this business of affelay, do you think we might step up our interest?
Top game yesterday!
Thanks Ed {Ed002's Note - Please read earliwr posts.}

Not being funny mate as much of a good signing it would be i doubt it would happen due to the amount of Central midfielders we have. Love if it would happen though but would the owners be considerate of another 10 million too for a position this doesn't need to be filled.

28 Aug 2011 19:49:05
I think either go for Bellamy as winger/striker option and Walcott as a winger option. We'll have crazy pace out wide and up front with Bellamy, Suarez, Downing and Walcott. Opinions?

My opinion is that i don't want either of them

Walcott is terrible so inconsistent, terrible final ball yeah he's fast but so is the road runner ynwa

28 Aug 2011 19:38:35
Wel eds

Wasn't watching man u today but reading here dc was at the match.. What is your take on this... Before things get out of had and people start saying were signing Rooney and giggs as back up goal keppers..

Ynwa {Ed007's Note - I would probably go along the lines that he was just watching the match. I can't see any Utd/LFC transfers TBH and I don't think Arsenal can really afford to lose anyone else, I'm covering the Arsenal site just now as well, and they are definitely not happy campers as it is.}

Wel ed
Thanks for reply

Totally agree with u.. But do u think there might be a chance we are selling someone to arsenal .. Maybe poulsen n'gog (French) raul {Ed028's Note - I doubt it}

Arsenal are gonna come 6th this year there team has collapsed all together

28 Aug 2011 19:33:30
i know im jumping d gun n been silly hear, but higuin non bench again for madrid, imagine we purchaased him n van persie, wed blow everyone away, i think were close to blowing m all away anyway lol cant wait for the captain to come back
5 gold stars

Keep dreaming, were not city or chavski

Cannot see why every one wants Van Persie.
CR

Who is this higuin guy again?

28 Aug 2011 13:55:42
Ed(s) do you know of any interest in Tamir Cohen? I think he is on a free transfer as he has been released by Bolton. He would be a great squad player and maybe follow in his father's footsteps, playing for Liverpool. At 27 he could be a good buy, or has he already joined another club?

Thanks.

lil_elf {Ed002's Note - There is no interest from Liverpool that I am aware of.}

He's gone to Maccabi Haifi I believe. Correct me if I'm wrong any body.

Yes, he did go to maccabi haifa

28 Aug 2011 13:53:31
Dear Eds,

Can you please clarify me on the Pacheco situation? It was confirmed on lfc.tv that has moved on loan to At. Madrid but on his twitter he said that he is linking up with his Rayo teammates? It is even possible that At. Madrid loaned him from us, then re-loan him to Rayo? Then why wouldn't we loan him to Rayo in the first place?

p.s. Great site Eds, keep up the good work and will you guys still be here after the transfer window shuts down?

-Melwood Janitor {Ed002's Note - He has been loaned on and they are simply putting the player in a holding pattern until they need him. I suspect he will leave for good next year.}

28 Aug 2011 19:22:06
If we put a bid in of 20m for Walcott and he says he wants out we should get him for that. He's 22 and is a great talent. Pacey, can beat his man and he's being wasted on the right wing at Arsenal, he's a striker. Have him or Carroll on the bench, both great impact subs. When Suarez needs a rest few defenders will fancy facing Carroll and Walcott up front. If we're desperate for impact we can throw him on for Henderson on the right and he can still make a difference. I think Walcott would be an inspired signing. English, young and available from a team on the slide, so it's not impossible we would sign him. I'm probably dreaming but I'd love it if we put a bid in for him

Red Ollie

No thanks would rather Henderson out there who is fast enough, and can actually produce some end goods. Walcott is fast, that's it really. Besides that, 20million for a sub after the amount we have spent this year? Unlikely.
CHeers ed's,
Bommy

20 mill for theo lay off the grog will ya

You're certainly dreaming!

I dont think we should go in for him, weve got better players and to waste 20 mil no way!!

You make me laugth just because dc was at the match dosnt mean were getin any arsenal players.geting to carried away

ste liverpool

20 mill for walcott,wot ru on?

Wouldn't want any Arsenal player at the moment! They have a duty to the Arsenal to help them through a bad spell.
Only a rat would leave them now.
kidmillions

We got Henderson on the right

Which Red are you Ollie? Not Liverpool, maybe Arsenal looking to get rid of Walcott! £2 quid not £20 million though

Sad that he is s**t other than pace

28 Aug 2011 18:58:43
Just back from the Canaries, spanish press are reporting that Poulson to Espagnol is a done deal (along with Roman Pavlyuchenko of Spurs).
Poulson has been described in Sport newspaper as Tactically impeccible (must be a bad translation). The stumbling point is his wages. The spanish club only have around 2 million euros (according to Sport) to spend on the two players wages.

Easy mistake to make it should read tactically insane!

28 Aug 2011 18:24:46
Anybody Know why Scott Dann was'nt even in the Birmingham squad today?
Injury? or a medical with somebody?
AL

There's all this talk about Scott Dann and Rodger Johnson (formerly Scott Dann's defensive partner) being good defenders, still managed to concede to many goals last season and help their team get relegated. They had Ben Foster behind them as well, he's not exactly a bad keeper.

We should get pique is a good strong tall and is young would be a great replecment for big jami

Ye cuz pique wud leave his boyhood club barcelona for us...

I think you'll find that when dann and Johnson played together, they did have a very good defence. Look at the 09/10 season!

It went downhill last season after January when dann got injured at didn't play for the last 4 months of the season, that's why they got relegated!

28 Aug 2011 18:07:41
I know its very unlikely but i wouldnt be surprised if we bid for walcott... especially because its known were interested in a winger/striker like bellamy and hes young and english

And lfc fan i believe

Not Walcott. Plenty of pace but no football intelligence. Take the pace away we've nothing left. perhaps a goal now and then. We need much better and shouls aim for much better in the Alexis Sanchez range if we are to challenge .

I think its van persie we are looking at, dc was at the game today so hes looking at someone from arsenal cause im not sure united offered him a seat!

Esp as comolli was watching the game at old trafford

28 Aug 2011 17:40:35
i know its not his primary role but maybe DC was looking at the game in terms of seeing how man u play against Arsenal for reference when we play them, and maybe because it was likely to be a great game!
Stupid i know but does anyone honestly think Van P or Nani bids on the cards!
Walcott, maybe? Although it seems many liverpool supporters don't think he's good enough for our team (Ed included, if i remember rightly?). Personally that is a player i think would be great for us or Lennon...both unlikely

Gareth

Lennon no thank headless chicken who cant cross

ste liverpool

I would've thought that if it was to check out how the teams were playing then Kenny would've been there over DC. I've no idea why DC was there besides to take a look at a player or players.

Don't understand why he was in the director's box then...

28 Aug 2011 16:57:53
seeing as we have been linked with bellamy and yossi the only people on that pitch i could imagine we were looking at are walcott, arshavin, rosicky.

Van persie if we dream and perhaps Nani if its a winger we are after as fergie has touted Nani for sale.

I can't stand Nani but he is effective and he has already got one assist for Liverpool

Cheers

Grimsby Red

Refresh my memory and tell me when and where Old Whisky Breath toted Nani for sale?

Im thinking park ????

Nani will not !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Taggart would'nt sell him to us! if anyone was bein looked at then i think it would be Van Persie! he did'nt look happy and is unsettled there due to lack of investment in the team! maybe when he was caught on camera singing YNWA he was sending an S.O.S to Kenny! We do need another striker! what we need from him now is to hand in a transfer request! if that happen's you'll know he want's to come to us! Alphared

I wouldnt take nani even if utd paid his wages his all for himself not for me sorry..............

What? What planet are you from? Are you been sarcastic?

Rob

Are you being serious?

Stu.

R u serious about Nani?
S.G.L

Are you people stupid, not trying to be smatr but theres no way van persie will be sold, comolli can go to a agme without scouting players.

mooman

Walcott is piss all he does is run fast everytime I watch him the commentator says he got bags of pace true but I can't remember him ever doing anything with a ball he's bad.

As for nani any footballer that crys says it all really

There was not 1 player on that pitch that LFC needs !

28 Aug 2011 16:55:14
Looking at the Man U - Arsenal game, I rate we put in a bid to test the waters at Arsenal for Walcott. Having him on the right wing would be insane. What do you think eds??

Are you mental? he has absolutely no end product whatsoever.

Wouldn't touch walcott with a barge pole - how is he going to better our team? He is the epitomy of inconsistent - clueless up front and poor ball selection - surely there are better options out there - Bellamy for one

You're right; it would be insane! Walcott has nothing but blinding pace. Why anybody would want him at the club is beyond me!

Noelie

Wallcott is crap.got great pace but no end product and certainly wouldnt get in our side.

Would rather have kuyt and henderson
walcott is no where near good enough for liverpool
look how he played against us awful no passion he is a disgrace

Walcott is not good enough!! he can run but that is about all he can do!!

100% agree with yez all. Walcott cr@p. dont need him. Downing would do better than him as a striker. With meireles/lucas/adam/downing feeding Suarez/Carroll,... and with Kelly,Coates,Agger and Enrique stopping everything I reckon we've got a great future...let Walcott run in the world athletics championship, thats all he can do: RUN.

28 Aug 2011 16:51:38
arsenal sinking ship.try for v persie?,walcott,chamack,anyone??

Van persie man , defo not the others

Short memory!!! Shouldn't gloat. Wasn't long ago it was us. Slight lack of respect!!!!

Oh yeah let's sign Johan Djourou off them he's anyone plus he'd be cheap even though he's absolute rubbish!

I think anyone before chamack in your list!

Chamakh? He's on the bench in Arsenal. We don't need him. Walcott would be a nice addition though.

Chamck and walcott are no wear near good enough van persie i agree would be good but too old i would prefer a younger striker. i cant belive people want walcott at liverpool he didnt touch the ball 2 games ago when he played against us he was the worst on the pitch

Everyone said we were a sinking ship at the start of last season. 9 games to get 7 Pts last season, rememer!
Rob

Chamack are you having a laugh, lazy and useless. I wouldn't touch Walcott either, all he has is pace. R.V.P is class but very injury prone. I would only consider Wilshire, Vermaelen and Gervinho. The rest are too inexperienced or lack the will and desire to fight for the team.

Papa G

We never played that bad!! I would say Walcott. Van Persie unlikely, although on his day he is the best finisher in the prem.

Apart from the disrespect - remember last year and the sh*t we copped - Chamack! I thank God we didnt sign him everytime I watch him play. Another Benitez folly - that and the fact that he goes through a tube of hair gell a day tells you all you need to know about the guy.

So a team loses 8-2 and we wanna buy their players lool no thanks

Chamakh under kenny.? If we got him cheap wudnt be da worst signin

28 Aug 2011 16:46:51
Would'nt it be nice if we put a cheeky bid in for van persie you never know he might want to join because arsenal are terrible at the moment!
Skurks

We should bid 35 million for walcott and rvp

Just been made Captain. Doubt he'll leave.

TSP

I know it's doubtful but am sure he'll be frustrated an i think now's the time to test the waters!
Skurks

28 Aug 2011 16:37:39
if we get coates which we will we dont need anymore backs. someone up top who can link up with suarez, id love van persie, theyll all want to jump ship from there, stevie back aswell , oooohhh
5 gold stars

Van Persie would be fantastic for us if he stayed fit. Won't happen though but someone of that ilk would be fantastic.

DG

Totally agree,worth a go.or!chamack?/walcott even.sinking ship at emirites

No thanks, injured more often than not and he will end up back in Holland IMO

Chamack chose Arsenal over us in jan 2010 - and im not exactly gutted we didnt get him.

28 Aug 2011 16:21:15
Just Saw DC At The Man U & Arsenal Match Could A Shock Bid For Walcott In Line

Pls god no, van persie up top with suarez n we would smash it
5 gold stars

I was thinking van persie why not put a cheeky bid in?
Skurks

He was sitting next to Baldini in the directors box. We must be looking at an Arsenal player? Could be Walcott?? I'd deffo take him for the right price.

Why would we want walcott. he's done nothing since going to arsenal apart from that 1 game for england. enrique had him in his pockets. all the boy has is speed and no end product. not good enough IMO.

Taffytel

What he cant go to a match without us putting in a bid for someone??!

Dodge

God I hope not.....Theo 'I tackle myself' Walcott.

I think its ramsey doubt it will be a man u player

Or perhaps he wanted to watch the game...??
theres no way he's watching any of the man u players, and it took arsene wenger nearly the whole tranfer window to sell nasri and fabregas so there's no WAY he would sell anyone now with only 3 days left on the window, so i feel he is maybe just there to watch a game of footy, manchesters hardly far from liverpool is it to go and watch a game such as this

Lets hope not, Dracula could handle a cross better than him

Of course, he could just be watching United against a fellow Top 4 hopeful. Who knows?

TSP

Only players i think we would look at if commoli is scoutin is van persie,varmaelen even though he is'nt playing today or wallcot for a central role

Swap Carroll For Van Persie I'd Be Over The Moon

Old trafford is hardly far from liverpool,being a sunday and us playing yesterdayi think he was just there to run the rule over our rivals,rvp and walcot are only players we would be interestered in id imagine,if he was scouting,if arsene let go of rvp i think we could see more riots in london! walcot i think would be good for our squad rw or cf and i read somewere he used to follow us,but for what he would cost there better options out there

Come on guys, Comolli was just watching a match between a club we just played and one we will face shortly. If anything, he was watching United to see their players at work. Also, can you imagine a quick transfer between Liverpool and Arsenal?

Btw Van Persie was the worst Arsenal player on the pitch...yes worse than Jenkinson who at least tried hard.

Have you all forgotten he was a European Scout for Wenger at Arsenal some time ago? Just maybe he's going to speak to Arsene for moral support seeing how everything seems to be going wrong for Arsenal?

Wilshere please...

28 Aug 2011 16:17:55
so Comolli's at Old Trafford! Rob Smith JFT96

Looking at walcott

...and thinking i'm glad he does'nt play for us!

28 Aug 2011 16:17:35
anyone know why they just panned to comolli in the man u vs arsenal game?

28 Aug 2011 16:07:48
Coates wants to sign for us, he's had his medical, fee has been agreed with Nacional. He was at ANFIELD yesterday. He's obviously wanting to join, its just down to the paperwork. So stop with the trash talk.

At last someone who talks sense ,the deal for sebastien coates is agreed ,and as long as the required permits are agreed he will be an anfield red by tuesday evening due to the bank holiday, i can see a top four finish this season guys

28 Aug 2011 15:55:22
Just heard Dzeko was fasting and still scored 4, FOUR!!
That guy has tremendous ability, absolute respect!

Jack D.

I don't think Dzeko is fasting. He's never considered himself an orthodox muslim and even if he was they get special dispensation or all sorts of things, for example being sportsmen (eg/ cricketers)

Red Ollie

They still get 2 eat in the evening,but yeah good goal scorers make the game more interesting,we're still gonna beat them tho.kyb

Seeing as Dzeko is the most similar striker in the league to Andy Carroll, it really shows how much Carroll needs to improve his game. Both tall, strong and not very quick, but Dzeko shows what that sort of player is capable of in the PL.

I guess you must have missed our last match against Man City when Carroll scored 2 and Dzeko laid an egg...

28 Aug 2011 15:39:24
whats all the Negativity with the coates situation,why cant we just be happy.instead of making up stupid rumours eg he wont sign they wont more money.the bid has been Accepted the player wonts to come.were just waiting on a permit which will go threw give it time

ste liverpool

28 Aug 2011 15:22:51
stop with all this coates trash, a fee has been agreed, and he is likely to sign, just be patient

28 Aug 2011 14:56:48
Dont mean to put a dampner on the whole coates deal. He was spotted in Anfield last night but whilst I was flying back home I sae him in the airport appartantly bording a plane to Madrid. Now anybody with brains would realise that Athletico Madrid were playing this morning so I reckon he was going to one of their matches. Discussions??? Who knows. Had to share that

U chat rubbish he is in a hotel in Liverpool

'Anybody with brains' would realise that this is untrue. As far as I know, the deal should be finalised tomorrow, then he'll fly out to join the Uruguayan squad.

He might be going to see his international team mate Godin or helping Forlan move house
Scouse Pride

Yeah, cos it all depends on how 1 match turns to decide who he signs for... Maybe it wasn't him( photo???) maybe he was headed back to Uruguay as most flights go via Spain. Maybe he was going to see his gran who moved there years ago ( joke)

Swish

Stop talking trash, you did not see him, "whilst i was flying back home" implies you were on a plane when you say him at a gate boarding for madrid, you would have been better off thinking about it and saying you saw him in the departure lounge of the airport, even then you wouldnt have seen him, arrivals and departures are different sections, so go away you sad little person

Not being awfull mate but if you was just flying in why were you in the departure lounge to see him off ,sounds like a hopeful manc to me lol

Why wuld u make this up?? liverpool or athletico?? its a no brainer especially after how we played yestaday!

These are obviously the words of a very bitter manc who realise their reign is going to be very short lived

This morning he was spotted with suarez n he is staying with suarez......RED INDIAN

"whilst I was flying back home I sae him in the airport appartantly bording a plane to Madrid"

you either see someone boarding a plane or you dont... you dont see someone apparently boarding a plane!!!

I honestly dont see the point in lying seriously, what is the point? Stop with the rubbish! Coates is signing! Get a grip seriously! Red Rob

Eh maybe I live in Ireland and was in the departure lounge flying home after the match. Does it take much brains to look at the screen and realise he is sitting at the gate for madrid. Flip me boys I'm only passing on what I saw. This has happened before with the likes of Robinho (Chelsea, man city) {Ed028's Note - Maybe it was mistaken identity, Coates is certainly in Liverpool this evening}

It was probably Poulsen...

It's been reported that nacional want more cash n over a shorter period. They also requested that the deal be completed whether Coates gets a work permit or not. He should get one tho coz he's a beast, I think Hernandez had the same thing.

Liverpool considering bidding for 22 year old Ajax midfielder Nicolas Lodeiro who is entering the final year of his contract at Ajax. Could be available for a cut price deal if we show serious interest.

Probably to be brought in to add a little more depth to the midfield with the departure of Aquilani, he is an attack minded player with an eye for goal. He is very close friends with Luis Suarez from their days at Nacional which could help us in the move, he was linked in the past. Keep an eye on this one.

Lodeiro missed most of last season at Ajax due to injury. Nevertheless, he was included in Uruguay's squad for Copa America. He is a real talent.

Beintez tracked him Januar 2010.
Benitez had a real eye for talent aroad. Had he been given the backing. We wouldn't be where we are. We should at least hire hime back as a techincal scouting director

28 Aug 2011 13:57:41
Just a shout, but is Roberto Soldado realistic? Just the player we need to finish attacks

Totally agree mate him suarez an carroll would be a formidable strike force!
Skurks

Agree,but dont see sadly

I can't see it happening eigher but i think that type of strike like soldado or van persie is what we need they always in the right position an poach inside the box!

as posted earlier this week about three uraguayans coming to liverpool because comoli spoke to the agent they all share .........with cole,poulsen,leving it opens the way for an attacking midfielder by the name of marcelo lodiero of ajax ..he's 22 yrs old..and already an international player, again another young player with outstanding talent

How much would he cost d'ya think?

His name is Nicolas Lodeiro

Marcelo nicolas lodiero benitez

After weve finally signed sebastian coates, i think we should put a last minute bid in for matt jarvis or ibrahim afellay. these two would cost around the same(7-9m) and then i believe we could maybe mount a title challenge. I know many of you will slate me for this an say its to early for the title but if we could get coates, jarvis/affelay an maybe bellamy then this is the strongest side that liverpool have had in about 10 years. Henderson had a great game yesterday but kept on drafting in to the middle so we had no width on the right hand side.if we could maybe get rid of poulsen, shelvey(on loan), joe cole then I think our squad is near enough complete.

red fanatic

Would like to see an attempt to sign afellay, think there could be a chance and he could be that extra bit of spark and creativity that I feel we still lack to be title contenders. Jarvis on the other hand is good but when we enquired about him the club were quoted a 15million price tag... No thanks!

Whilst I agree we could mount a challenge, you're thinking isn't really out of the box. Mentioning ideal signing being the last 3 players we've been linked with isn't exactly groundbreaking news....

Swish

Agree after watching city today,we need more flair,pacey match winners.cant just rely on suarez

Henderson coming in off the wing will leave Glen Johnson to bomb down the wing and offer us the width like Chelsea's full backs

I've watched a fair bit of Jarvis on t.v. as recently as yesterday and like the other Wolves player we've been linked with [ Doyle ] he looks a fairly ordinary player to me.£9 mill? No thanks!

Jacob red, i totally agree with you, after seeing this rumour i have dug a bit deeper to find no fullproof in it what so ever, no talk of meetings, no names, no nothing, just that he has said yes to them,
i also find it very strange that NO other media sie or any other paper have jumped on this, normally when an exclusive is made or a story with proof is there they all jump on the bandwagon and run the story as well,
i must correct myself...1 last google search of craig bellamy has shown me the METRO online is running a co story of this, so to quote that it says
' Bellamy has now told Tottenham officials he is happy to move to White Hart Lane and the deal should be completed in the next few days, reports the Mail on Sunday,'
which is total BULL, if they had read the mail's story is does not say that, the ONLY involvement in the bellamy says yes story of bellamy is this
'Tottenham are planning a busy week themselves by signing Wales striker Craig Bellamy, 32,'
so...he might indeed sign for tottenham but i am leaning towards this being utter rubbish as no other website has touched it, if you delve into any storys about tottenham on any website there is no mention of bellamy,

A agree with you i think its totall rubbish too if it was true it would be in every paper sky sports news and others totnaham are intrested in joe cole i last reed that and it say that bellamy said coming back to liverpool would be a dream come true. also the news of bellamys return to liverpool has been in the mail quite a lot its been in the mirror this site and othe sites too.
you'll never walk alone

Rumours of a hiccup in the Coates deal. Nacional are supposedly asking for more money and better payment terms. I assume this is caused by the interest from Athletico Madrid.

I thought once a fee has been accepted thats the fee the buying club pays! The player is then given permission to have a medical and discuss terms, like Coates has!

This situation has happened to us before. Do you remember the Simao situation when Benfica agreed £10m and then upped the price to £14m. Which we baulked at.
Scouse Pride

Be a waste of time them trying that as Coates doesn't want to go to Athletico. They would then end up with nothing as the player could then sit tight and wait for the deal that is right for him. The deal will go through.

Load of bollocks the deal is all done just waiting for clearance and work permit to be done which will be on tuesday

He was at the liverpool game yesterday surely if he was going to athletico madrid wudnt he be there?

The deal is done mate,The player had a medical on saturday morning and passed that.
Nacional accepted both offers and coates chose us,he had chosen us even before atletico came in over city and numerous other teams.
the players will be presented on thursday, along with the other signings.
db9

An exclamation mark at the end of the sentence.
Is it dear old Sydney ! / Mavis ! from the U*d pages up to his tricks again ?
Lol
The Real KB

Nacional also want the deal done whether he gets a work permit or not. I hope we don't have any problems getting a permit.
Liam

Once a club has accepted a fee, they are legally obliged to sell the player at that price. It is a non-retrospectively negotiable deal. They have to sell Coates at that price to us. The Simao situation was different. We lodged no official bid, just an enquiry. That is why when we went back with a bid we were told to pay more.

Rush

Haha nice try ;)

To ED02
Should we be concerned about the Visa/paperwork situation for sebastion Coates ?

What could prevent him from joining L.F.C. ?

Do you think L.F.C. have completed their business in this current transfer window ?

a promising start to the season but very early days yet. If we get more signings, they can only improve the squad. If we don't sign anyone else before the 31st it won't be a big problem. The squad we have now can do us proud till at least Jan 2012. At which point K.K can evaluate how much or how little the squad needs to improve. We still have players to come back from injury, no other than Stevie G.and if he can stay fit ,his link up play with Suarez will be awsome. We still have Raul, Johnson and Kelly to return, so all in all we have a pretty decent squad.
We can without getting carried away, be very optimistic. I think we can win the FA Cup and finish in the top four. which would be a great achievment.

We must look back at ourselves on how we progressed in th last 10 years or so, not 20 or 30 years ago. this period of time has been a time, has seen a real decline in our league standing as a big Club is concerned and the type of football we have produced.

2000/2001 season, though very successful , wiining three domestic trophies and qualifying for the CL. I felt at the time we over achieved. We were pretty lucky to have won one cup never mind three and the expectation for us to move on and dominate again was far too unrealistic. We simply did not have the players to do it and we missed out on big players in the transfer market.

Apart from winning the Champions leage, carling cup and, Fa cup we've done nothing else from winning the treble in 2001. The last time we were in a cup final was 2007 Cl final against AC and our performances in domestic cup competition (apart from 2006 when we won the FA Cup) has been awful.
More concerning is the decline in the Premier league. in the last 10 years or so our premier league achivements for a BIG CLUB has been dreadful in this period has seen some of the worst league records in our history. It is so annoying, to think how close we came to wiining the Premier league a couple of seasons ago. At the same time it might have been a bad thing. Those two gobs**tes from America. ( who's names i won't mention could still be running our club.
We now Appear to have a wonderful set up. John Henry and his team are doing a great job and our fulfilling promises, and Kenny has assembled a very capeable team and backroom staff. there is without any doubt a much happier feeling with the club and its fans. We must think back to last season before KK took over and how we all felt and where we were in the league. I don't want to think about what would have happened if Roy Hodgson had still been in charge. Anyway we are in a different place now and we can feel optimistic, but what we must do is to remain calm, be realistic about our acievements this season and get behind all the players and not single out anyone for abuse. Lets give our full support to the club, sing our hearts out home and away. Anfield is the most noisy and exiting place in football, when the fans are up for it. Well lets always be up for it and Give KK and his team massive surpport and KK will have to provide us fans with the style of football we want and exitement we desrve.
Thanks for reading this and i appologise for the post being so long. (Thinking out loud really)

RED FISH. {Ed002's Note - I would not worry about the work permit. The worst case is that it gets refused meaning that he may need to go through the process of applying for a Spanish passport or he could even be loaned out until he gets enough international matches under his belt - Uruguay have one on September 2 so it would help if he could play in that. However, I suspect he will be granted an exemption under the "exceptional talent" clause. I don't know if any one else will arrive or not. There has been talk of Bllamy and Bryan Ruiz.}

Ed is the exceptional talent clause real or you being sarcastic??? {Ed007's Note - It is real mate.}

Exeptional talent, winning the Copa America young player of the tournament kind of proves that id say.

Berso

Eds, great site. How long do work permit rtulings tend to take? Thanks {Ed002's Note - Please refer to earlier answers.}

afellay ed is it right we could get him for as little as 5m or 6m are we in talks for him, i would like to see him come in he will not get no games at barca,25 years old just right.they got him for 2.5m i there a chance ed....walk on great game by are boys i loved it well done the boys.....jay essex red for life red till dead {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any confirmed interest in Afellay.}

Afellay is injured isnt he? watched a couple of eredivisie matches n i think hes a bit of a dirty player, not to mention injury prone

Barcelona are trying to do deals like this with a few other players, we'd sign the player for say £6m then, after 2 seasons when he's had to years of first team football Barcelona would activate a clause in the contract allowing them to buy back the player for the same amount. It's effectively a 2 year loan deal, not worth it in my opinion.

Hi ed r we still in for cattermole personally i think hes a good old fashion holding midfielder, still young, could be used as back up for lucas and in my eyes better than mierles and spearing? Thanks {Ed002's Note - No, I very much doubt it.}

Go back to the page of the team you support.

Better than Mierles? Are you Cattermole's agent?

Funny hes poor,hes lucky to stay on the pitch everygame

Must be Cattermole's agent. Cant belive an lfc fan could be that blind as to what make a good football player.

kevin doyle will be signing before transfer deadline told be a cousin of his

Doyle is 28/29 and most of us have watched him [ at least on t.v. ] often.I watched him again yesterday against Villa and he still looks a very ordinary player so why would we want to sign him for what would be an inflated fee?

Kevin doyle is younger than that, hes a terrific player n works his socks off, im irish n id love him in there, he can score,
5 gold stars

Kevin Doyle born September 1983! I'm not a math genius but doesn't that make him 28 in under a month? Oh and yes he can score.Last season for Wolves he scored 8 goals.1 in the FA cup,2 in the Carling cup so therefore just 5 in the league.Is that the sort of scoring rate we want to spend good money on?

Doyle is 27 you fool and hes already a proven player even at international level

Just to correct an earlier poster, was talkin to David amoo last night in newz bar in liverpool and he told me that he's goin on loan this year and not being sold! Not exactly headline stuff but just thot I'd pass on d info! Sound bloke but couldn't get any transfer gossip out of him ha! Great result yest, best we've played in a while and anfield was rockin! Good times ahead!!

Cheers,
Red Pedro {Ed002's Note - That will take him up to the end of his contract.}

Amoo- now there's a name i haven't heard for a while. Always thought he was a sound player, offering plenty of movement up front. I also think he is better than n'gog but then again, that's not saying much.

28 Aug 2011 09:43:20
Liverpool misfit Christian Poulsen is wanted on loan by Espanyol. just as we thought things where all fitting in to place nicely

This indicates you are not happy with poulsen going out on loan ??? Very strange, you don`t actually think a club is going to give money for him do you so surely a loan is as good as we will get.

A year without him on the payroll is a good year regardless of how its done! besides, noone would take a 32-year old with nothing to offer on a permanent contract and he still has THREE YEARS left on his contract with us, i believe.

A truly hopeless case, his legs have gone. Goodbye and good riddance. Hope Hodgson got a good pay day...

We should pay him to leave...as is said his head's not right, and i dont think he will ever play for us again.well we can only hope walk on, jay essex red for life

From what I've read into it appears that Joe Cole all but done for Spurs
Ngog will move on to Bolton or back to France
Poulsen to Espanyol on loan
Degen & Amoo also moving on as they seem to be surplus with no squad numbers allocated.

Coates will be official very shortly, I'm also expect a suprise attacking player signing.

Jus read on BBC gossip Column, that Bellamy is closing in on spurs move? Any truth in this Ed or are liverpool still favourites? Please post in rumours mate, btw i was at todays game and liverpool were quality, Bellamy and Coates would finish the squad off and certainly be able to fight for the title! {Ed002's Note - Please see other answers.}

28 Aug 2011 00:54:00
the daily fail are reporting that craig bellamy has said yes to tottenham in tommorows paper, with no direct quotes, no names or meetings or anything to suggest the story is true what so ever it seems a made up story or pure guess work.

it may though be true, there just seems no truth in it what so ever except the daily mail saying bellamy says 'yes' to tottenham, any info on this ed's?? {Ed002's Note - Please see other answers.}

28 Aug 2011 00:43:40
Ed's please tell me this Daily Mail story on Bellamy joining spurs is crap?

seems like a ploy to me maybe get a bigger deal from us. Plus when have they got anything right. {Ed002's Note - THere is interest, that is all we know.}

28 Aug 2011 00:19:20
Hi Eds, just wondering if you know if spurs' interest in Bellamy is concrete? I only say this because I would love to see him back at liverpool and think he'd be brilliant back up to Suarez! Are they any closer to getting him than us?
Cheers, Scouserlewy {Ed002's Note - There is certainly interest.}

I think that it is just its just jurnilists getting a story despretly i think bellamy will be a liverpool player

I think this is just somthing the papers are despetly neeeding a storry bellamy has said that comeing back to liverpool would be a dream come true last time i read any way tottnahm are intrested in joe cole

28 Aug 2011 00:02:05
ed do u no how much the fee was for insua {Ed002's Note - I beleive it was free.}

Hi Eds, Did not last year Fiorentiana had a 5M Euro bid accepted ?
Then InSua said no (wages) and went to Gala...

27 Aug 2011 23:21:15
ed i posted an early question saying do u think that coates will be in the squad to face stoke, you said doubt it does this mean you expect him not to sign?? {Ed002's Note - Of course that is not what I meant. I have no idea how you read that in to it. I "think" he will not be in the squad against Stoke because (a) he has not signed yet; (b) he is awaiting International clearance; (c) he needs a work permit which needs to be applied for under the exemption ruling as he does not qualify for a work permit automatically.}

But ed the stoke game isnt until the 10th september. 2 weeks?, surely thats enough time to complete everything? {Ed002's Note - Why are you making such a big deal of this? I was asked an opinion and gave it. Maybe he will and maybe he won't. We have no idea how long it will take to get a work permit of if indeed he will get one.}

28 Aug 2011 01:41:16

Bellamy off to spurs. 'arry is keen to link him up with ade. Deal complete by Monday lunch.

28 Aug 2011 00:35:12
With Bellamy saying 'yes' to Spurs according to Spurs according to the Mail does it mean that this deal is off and a striker will be bought in on deadline day? Great site btw, addicted to it! {Ed007's Note - Thanks very much.}

Thats harry for you, dnt have targets of his own so he goes for ours, like suarez he makes everyone believe he had a chance at getting him.

Let spurs have Bellamy, he will be nothing but trouble. In my opinion Lfc should do everything to get agbonlahor. Tried and tested in premiership, lightning pace, plays up front and wide

Agbonlahor? No chance of him being sold for any sensible money if they'd sell him at any price that is!

Would it be a bad thing to cash in now on kuyt? Replace him with afellay? He works his socks off and has been a great servant but if we can get afew quid then buy I'd be happy let's not wait till wed night!!!

I completely disagree...what our club needs players that will work for each other and Kuyt has the experience we need and the work rate. He was awesome up front with Suarez yesterday

That was from SPeedy

Kuyt deserves more respect than that mate.

Why would you want to get rid of Kuyt? Crazy idea.

Tried to resbond to this post a few times tonight but could not understand why it was even there kuyt is one of our best senoir players the heart and soul of the club so yes it would b a bad thing without getting really p### off with so many people calling him to go

red jonno

It all shows that you don't know what you are saying. Kuty is better than Carrol, if LFC need to get rid of a player it should be Carrol because he spoils our game as he is yet to key.

He's a top, hard-working , loyal player who deserves better

He's been a great servant so sell him off at the first opportunity? What is your problem? Surely you can't be a real supporter of this club.

There's an article in one of the papers how SAF blends youth with aging veterans to shoes them the ropes, work ethic and to police the locker room couple times now. Clearly carragher, gerrard, would be those guys, we might add Kuyt and Pepe to that in the near future. Dirk has his shortcomings, there are few players that put the effort he does though.

Let me start off by saying I have a lot of respect for Kuyt as a football. He has been a great servant to liverpool football club. The only concern I have, is with him playing a more central role alongside Suarez, he needs to improve his first/finishing touch. This is professional football and maybe the time is right to to get a fee for him while we still can.

You clearly don't watch Dirk and see his value to the team. His off the ball movement to create space is fabulous. His work rate is unrivalled and he bleeds Liverpool. I have never seen him give less than 100% and I predict that this will be his best season. The team is now fluid with movement and pace and Dirk will provide loads of chances as well as scoring 15 plus goals. Along with Lucas, he is the most underrated player we have.
...JFT96

Wot a bizzare post . did you not see the game yesterday ? 2 assists and he was one of the top 3 performers in the game (as he always is) . we are building a strong squad why sell one of our most consistent players .hope he sees his career out with us

Kuyt is one of the best players we got and we need some experienced players so we don't end up like arsenal. So he should not be sold at eny price.

It would be a bad thing it would unsettle the team and you would only get 10 mill tops coz of age it would be best to keep him and find his replacement and bring them thru with kuyt there

Yesterday's opening goal was a typical piece of Kuyt work ethic.When many others wouldn't have been at the races Dirk hurdled a grounded Bolton player to win the ball and lay it off to Henderson to score.So with 3 days to the window closing we should try to sell him and find a replacement for him? Stop posting crap mate!

To sell Kuyt would be absolute madness. What a stupid post. Maybe we should cash in on gerrard....This makes me v.angry.

I agree that kuyts been an absolute gem for the club and works his socks off,gives 110% every game but to be fair his finishing and first touch are awful carrolls only young and is still adapting himself. kuyts 30 and isnt gonna improve these weak spots now,i agree it would be a shame to lose him but can see the point of cashing in if a decent offer came in 15mil say

27 Aug 2011 23:32:03
we all know the players that have to leave cole,ngog etc but raul m has to stay the difference he made v arsenal is what he brings to team we need as strong a panel as possible to get back to where we belong on top

No chance he's a luxury player we can't afford to carry for 90 minutes hoping he produces something out of the blue,he needs to work harder and get stuck in to more tackles

27 Aug 2011 23:39:57
Craig Bellamy will sign for Spurs.....

Liverpool are not looking to sign anyone else after Sebastian Coates till January. We did ask the question about Bryan Ruiz looks unlikely due to price and from what I have been told Liverpool also asked about availability of Affeley and a possible loan deal but it won't happen. Barcelona want the cash to balance the books due to Fabregas arrival.

MarkoLFC85

Yep, cos that's really going to make a dent in the Fabregas transfer money, max £10 million for affeley and I'm being generous, so not really going to balance the books

27 Aug 2011 23:35:24
I've heard that Bryan Ruiz has been allowed to talk to other clubs? Liverpool likely.

Craig Bellamy was not at the game as many posters suggested. Liverpool have shown interest but Bellamy he has not yet come to an agreement with City over ending his contract.

it was good to see a smile on all the liverpools players today, shows we have good team spirit and good management. 2 more players to be added Coates and Bellamy, and maybe a dead line deal.
