They have jus signed kaite balde from lazio hopefully that triggers some action between us an lamar he perfect for us hopefully.

As I said a while ago. The clue as to who is going and staying is to be found by looking at the pics on the team section of the website. Lallana will be the surprise departure with VVD coming this way.

Lallana to Spurs?

Yes. Origi will also depart.

Agree14 Disagree5

28 Aug 2017 20:07:25
I really hope we don't lose lallana. A player of the highest quality.

Agree20 Disagree7

{Ed025's Note - of the highest quality?, dont know about that mate..

28 Aug 2017 20:08:36
Nobody in their right mind would update a team photo before a player has signed for another club. You'll have to do better than that.

Agree6 Disagree1

28 Aug 2017 20:12:26
I looked and Lallana hasn't gone? Not sure what the op is getting at?

Agree8 Disagree0

28 Aug 2017 20:13:18
How is lallana going to pass a medical? He had a leg brace on when I saw a picture of him last week.

Agree16 Disagree1

28 Aug 2017 20:22:18
No-one will sign Lallana with such a long term injury.

Agree10 Disagree0

28 Aug 2017 20:30:41
He must have borrowed Coutinhos back brace.

Agree11 Disagree0

28 Aug 2017 20:34:00
What if we have Southampton back their players (except Mané) in return for VVD.

Agree9 Disagree1

28 Aug 2017 20:35:12
Ed not a huge lallana fan, but he is head and shoulders above gylfi.

Agree18 Disagree2

{Ed025's Note - people on prescribed medication should not drink alcohol waqas..

28 Aug 2017 20:38:34
I was quoting klopp ed025. He was one of our top performers last year. He's not messi or Ronaldo but he is a top player, one of our most creative.

Agree10 Disagree1

{Ed025's Note - jurgen is hardly likely to say that he is just a run of the mill mediocre midfielder now is he superred?..

28 Aug 2017 20:56:04
I agree ed, that's why I stay clear of prescribed meds!

Agree4 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - love it waqas..

28 Aug 2017 21:03:27
The OP is going on the fact that Lallana's photo is in last years kit. The same as Sakho, Brannagan and Markovic. but then also Grujic.

It all seems ridiculous to me. Sakho and Markovic wouldn't have been at the club when the photos were taken.

Agree5 Disagree0

28 Aug 2017 21:35:37
seem to be playing better without him,
Im sure he got injured last year on international suty early in the season.
He maybe a bit of a sicknote.

Agree3 Disagree2

28 Aug 2017 22:19:30
It is nonsense. The players who have pictures with this season's kit were available during the photo session. The others who missed that day were out injured. These photos were taken few months ago, when Grujic, Lallana, Brannagan were injured.

Agree2 Disagree0

28 Aug 2017 22:49:32
You can be injured and pass a medical. A medical mainly looks at underlying problems with the body, joints, bones and muscles. A injury that will be sorted in a couple of weeks won't jeopardise a signing.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Aug 2017 01:51:04
Lallana is 10 × the player siggurson is. I think people have (rather quickly) forgotten lallana form last season. Especially in the first four months. Perfect liverpool player. Wins the ball, picks out smart passes, thinks two or three passes ahead. He needs to be more clinical but you can't have everything. One of the best players in a champions league team. That's the highest quality isn't it?

Agree10 Disagree0

29 Aug 2017 03:06:48
Lallana seems to be one of Klopp's favourite player. I remember he heaped praise on him in one of the interviews. I believe he could possibly be the one that got the most hugs from Klopp too :)

So, I don't think it is true at least for this transfer window. Also he's injured, that would probably kill this rumour until Janury at least.

Agree7 Disagree0

29 Aug 2017 13:12:22
Lallana is a very intelligent footballer. We are going to get a real boost when he comes back. I think he will return at a very important part of the season. Around November, December. If we manage to sign Lemar then we are going to be so spoilt for choice.

Agree1 Disagree0

29 Aug 2017 14:32:22
Klopp clearly rates lallana. It was clear last season he sees him as a good squad player that can make an impact off the bench or as backup during injury speĺls. Cannot see him him going anywhere in this window.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Aug 2017 14:58:58
The problem with thinking 2 or 3 passes ahead is that if pass 1 is intercepted, by the time pass 3 happens your team just conceded. Never saw that coming did he?

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Aug 2017 19:49:04
Well that is the risk of playing attacking football. And counter attacking football. Our attacking players are too fast and clever, and more often or not, we manage to get a shot off. Averaging 23 shots a match I believe

Also, said it before and I'll say it again, in our last 9 premiership matches we have kept 7 clean sheets. Matip was in the team of the week.
Can't defend? Not sure about that. Lovren has a hard job on that LCD, covering for moreno, who has been good attacking (even brilliant) but still leaves gaps that lovren has to try and fill two positions. I bet we go to three at the back if VVD comes. Moreno znd Robertson as WBs.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Aug 2017 19:59:01
I don't think lallana is an impact player. Yes he has played that role but bi think that was just zbout fitness. He has got to be on the team sheet for me.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Aug 2017 17:46:19
Hi Eds,

First of all, great site! Constantly on it. You guys are doing a great job. With Origi stories circling around do you think there is a chance LFC could approach Spurs for Vorm? I think he's a good keeper and would put Migno to his pockets. Maybe a deal could be agreed? Shame he doesn't get much game time. Actually very interested in your opinion on him? Thank you.

Believable0 Unbelievable9

{Ed001's Note - no I do not expect us to go for him. He was decent a few years ago but he has been sat on the bench for years now.}

28 Aug 2017 19:12:25
I really hope you aren't suggesting we bring in another keeper. We already have 3 on the books who could start PL games. Vorm is not needed.

Agree3 Disagree12

28 Aug 2017 20:24:36
Again Daniel, What is your point?

Agree11 Disagree2

29 Aug 2017 05:11:11
Daniel - I think you would agree this transfer period has so far improved the team. If we end up breaking even because we have offloaded a few players who we don't need anymore then how is that a problem?

Agree2 Disagree0

29 Aug 2017 10:04:17
My point wasn't negative or positive it's just a fact that we could break even.

Agree2 Disagree5

29 Aug 2017 11:13:18
Think we were linked with worm years ago. Not an improvement on mignolet for me. I don't think our gks are good enough but there aren't that many gks available who would improve us. This is probably going to be unpopular but I've always liked fabianski.

Agree1 Disagree1

29 Aug 2017 13:52:13
There is no way we will break even if we sign vvd and Lemar and a mystery 3rd player apparently. don’t forget Daniel there is faaaarrrrrrr more fees involved in a transfer than just the transfer fee itself.
Most of which the clubs don’t even receive when selling so we can’t break even that way.

29 Aug 2017 18:57:28
Red Phil, do you think pipCo is off? Whether we sign lemar or not.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Aug 2017 18:13:53
Hi ed, been reading the rumour/ banter pages today, can't see if this question has been asked.

If Liverpool sign Lemar would that mean the club would be willing to let Coutinho go or are the matters unrelated?

Thanks.

Believable5 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - If Lemar arrives then I think it unlikely that Coutinho would stay.}

28 Aug 2017 18:40:38
I think Pipco always was going to go, we're just holding out for the best price. If we get Lemar then I think that's a good shout. I'd have loved us to sign Insigne but can imagine that would be a hard transfer to pull off.

28 Aug 2017 18:46:07
Thanks ed. in your business minded, not football related opinion, would you get these deals done and let PC go? Also, when do I begin my apprenticeship to take over your reigns 😂.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - The consideration has to be the club and the team and if Lemar were to arrive then common sense dictates space needs to be made. Coutinho wants out - we know that. Most clubs simply move on and don't want to get in a difficult situation with folks who don't want to be there.}

Graeme Kelly is a genius.

Agree22 Disagree0

28 Aug 2017 15:02:47
Don't know why it took them this long to realise that was the best possible deal.

They didn't want to lose him
We wanted him
They knew he was off next year for 20 mil less
We want him and are willing to pay
We have can until next summer
Buy him and loan him back

Can't decide wether there idiots or geniuses. Haha.

Agree12 Disagree1

28 Aug 2017 14:52:43
If true mr ed 002 owes me an apology from my post on 1st august were he shot me down in flames for suggesting this idea.

Agree11 Disagree4

{Ed002's Note - Keita does not have a "buy out clause". He has a "release clause" that is not now nor will ever be of relevance to Liverpool. Whatever Liverpool end up paying for the player will be unrelated to that "release clause". Try not to be an embarrassing DF.}

28 Aug 2017 14:59:06
Bye bye Emre Can then!

28 Aug 2017 15:04:26

Agree7 Disagree0

28 Aug 2017 15:15:48
I will be really gutted if we lose Can. If you could guarantee me that kieta will perform to Can's standard atm then I'd be happy. That says it all really. Hopefully Can signs as he sees liverpool are serious about building something special. I actually think pipco and Can are crazy for wanting to leave. We are clearly on the way up.

Agree20 Disagree1

28 Aug 2017 15:20:54
Agree Supered, I think Can will be immense in time (already pretty immense this season so far! ) and would love to see him stay but I suspect if Keita is signing that might be the trigger for Can to re-evaluate his options and leave on a free next year to a side that will make him a guaranteed starter. Hope I'm wrong.

Agree10 Disagree0

28 Aug 2017 15:31:09
I agree Superred, Keita deal is great news but would be dampened by the loss of Can, I want to keep Can desperately. He's shown massive strides in improvement knows not to hold onto the ball to long now.

Fingers crossed Can sees our ambition and feels he can get enough playing time in the side. I don't blame him if he's been told he'll be back up though he needs to be starting often.

Agree9 Disagree0

28 Aug 2017 15:40:09
I know SGRED. He's been unreal this season and is clearly getting better. Kieta deal certainly sweetens the fact that Can will leave. The thing that gives me hope is the fact I can't see liverpool missing out on decent money for Can. Surely we wouldn't wanna miss out on a decent fee. If we get lemar I think we need to off load one or two. Perhaps origi and coutinio out lemar and vvd in.

Agree6 Disagree0

28 Aug 2017 15:41:34
Finally some movement in the transfer front. especially for our main targets.

Agree5 Disagree0

28 Aug 2017 15:43:02
Medical now, finding a house, shouldn't Keita be coming now?

Agree5 Disagree0

28 Aug 2017 15:47:03
ed02 obv the release clause is relevant as a starting point for negotiations. If Bayern can take him for 48m next summer clearly we offered a better option to not have him end up at a rival team in the same league as RBL.

Agree2 Disagree2

{Ed002's Note - The release clause has nothing whatsoever to do with Liverpool - and Bayern Munich has nothing to do with the matter at all.

As for the rest of your post, it was simply abuse. The site does not need you or any other trolling ignorant rubbish like you. I deleted it and your account.

As for the posts you and the other dum fucks have been trolling, we will be deleting those as well.}

28 Aug 2017 15:48:04
Ed002 as question for you:

I have just read in a german forum that it is not possible for a player to sign a pre-contract one year in advance. Is that true? If so how are these kinds of businesses handled then?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - A player can join a club and be loaned back. A player can sign a pre-contract to sign with another side six months before his contract ends (if a foreign side) or at the end of the playing season (if it is a side in the same country). The clubs can agree a future transfer of the player but it cannot become part of the player's contract, the player cannot be registered with the new side and the Application for Registration and provision of International Clearance and the Granting of a Work Permit cannot take place until the move actually happens.}

28 Aug 2017 15:57:31
Are we still interested in Navy Keith though?

Agree15 Disagree0

28 Aug 2017 15:58:01
Wow! Could it bee keep Couts for a title push, let him go next summer, Keita comes in? Need to get the rock solid CD over the line too, then I'd a 8/ 10 to the recruitment team for their summer.

Agree4 Disagree1

28 Aug 2017 15:58:54
There's are 3 midfield positions you know guys. It is possible for Emre and Keita to play on the same team. It doesn't have to be one or the other especially if coutinho leaves at some point. Maybe Klopp has a plan to become a midfield force with hendo can and Keita with Gini and lallana the quality depth. Hopefully Emre sees that this year!

Agree6 Disagree0

28 Aug 2017 16:00:46
Sky are confirming it now.

"For a few dollars more" starring Navy Keith.

Agree4 Disagree1

28 Aug 2017 16:20:32
Ed002 I said just for convo starter on 1st august do u think we could buy him and lone him back for a year.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Why lie now? Your words were "Liverpool could buy keita for his buy out clause". I have already explained. I don't kow why you wish to embarrass yourself even further.}

28 Aug 2017 16:23:41
On current form I'd drop Hendo altogether. I know he has had some issues with injury and he is being asked to do the unglamorous jobs in the middle of the park but he's really not been good enough this season so far or before his layoff last. Give him a chance to recover properly and switch back on. even Sunday's game passed him by.

Agree3 Disagree14

28 Aug 2017 16:42:38
Kudos to Mecca for calling the Keita signing, when there were so many doubters.

Agree6 Disagree1

28 Aug 2017 16:36:25
I know TIA19 but apparently Can is concerned about playing time. That is why he hasn't signed an extension. More midfielders coming in can only be a bad sign. That said, I hope you're right and the thing is, if Can isn't getting playing time that was because he wasn't doing enough in training. That certainly seems to have changed and for me he is the first midfielder on the team sheet. Hendo, Can and kieta would be awesome. Can kieta and lallana too. We will have too much class in the midfield.

Agree1 Disagree0

28 Aug 2017 16:37:46
These are great problems to have though. Last season I wouldn't have believed we would be arguing about who to pick out of such a good pool.

Agree4 Disagree0

28 Aug 2017 16:56:28
No way, Jock. Hendo is getting better and he was more than solid last night. You can regain full fitness without actually playing, end of. Why would you drop a player who is getting better esp. if he is coming back from a long injury lay off or were you not aware of the fact that he has not played a game since February? Hendo is getting up to speed and he was good vs Hoff and much better vs Arsenal hence, he should not be dropped.

Agree12 Disagree3

28 Aug 2017 17:38:37
Jock, did you even watch the Arsenal or Hoffenheim matches? Henderson was one of our best performers and led by example. Think before making unfair and silly comments.

Agree10 Disagree2

28 Aug 2017 17:42:08
WTF you lot on he's not coming till next year bloody hell hardly took macca to tell us that would happen. The centre half is the real area of concern D day tomorrow!

Agree1 Disagree13

28 Aug 2017 17:50:29
Naby should leave the house hunting for a year and pick up a Brexit bargain.
My hope would be that we can secure Can also, with Gini that would be a powerhouse midfield.

Agree7 Disagree0

28 Aug 2017 18:32:43
I said for the buy out clause which it sounds like that plus a premium why u being a pump.

Agree5 Disagree5

28 Aug 2017 19:01:04
Bingo Red. Keita is the ball winning driving the team forward, kante type player. Hendo is the sit along the back four sideways passes and longball to the wing. he doesn't drive the team at all, and is not a spoiler. better suited to Man U than Lpool. Personally Can, Keita and Lemar-kovacic is the better midfield.

Agree2 Disagree2

28 Aug 2017 20:15:06
You need someone like Hendo in the team. He plays it sideways a lot but that is stitching the play together and switching the ball. This is how you break teams down. His ball winning skills and leadership quality and stamina and speed make him an absolute must for me. Can Hendo and kieta would be devastating.

Agree6 Disagree3

28 Aug 2017 20:33:25
Whos going to play defense splitting balls. Goals fron Mid. that's why lemar kov. Are being looked at. 1 had got to go.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Aug 2017 21:28:52
"Hendo is the sit along the back four sideways passes and longball to the wing"
Ok Rio. let’s completely ignore the freedom he had vs Hoff and Arsenal where he was able to fly forward and press the OPPONENTS cbs and win us the ball for a goal scoring opportunity.
That is his game. He was always MUCH better in an advanced role and our midfield 3 seem to have the freedom to swap who sits back while someone goes forwards so he will be doing it a lot more (I hope)
He isn’t just a 'sideways/ backwards passer' or 'long ball to wingers' type of player. He brings a lot more than that. You must be thinking of the great Welsh Xavi or something or you only watched a friendly game when Hendo had A LOT of catching up to do with his fitness and speed.

Agree4 Disagree1

29 Aug 2017 13:29:16

28 Aug 2017 12:12:50
Sorry I'm waaaay behind the curve here - but what kind of player is Lemar? A coutinho replacement? Or more a winger? And where would he fit in?

Why oh why are we not sorting out our defence?! We are quality going forward.

Agree5 Disagree0

28 Aug 2017 12:29:21
If there's any justice in the world we will sign him, but right about now I think the chances are 50/ 50, they say it's not that easy to deal with Monaco. If we do sign him I hope we give him time to grow.

Well Lemar plays on the left wing for Monaco, so Origi could play there if he were to go in the opposite direction.

Ed 01 I owe you an apology dude. I'm sorry for my super pedantic posts the other day. I was rude to people and that's not usually my style. I don't expect you to post this comment but it's your call. I respect your opinion and have never before (since finding this site two/ three months ago) been privy to the kind of insight you and the eds offer. It is a privilege. I wanted to apologise yesterday but I didn't see you here. I'm sorry again. Great result yesterday eh! Do you think we have a decent chance of getting lemar? Does it mean we are getting ready to sell pc? Do you still think we will grab another cb? . They did get another clean sheet yesterday.

Agree2 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - don't worry mate, it was long since forgotten. Monaco are having a few problems with unsettled players, Lemar is one who wants to move, so we just have to match the asking price and I am sure he will come.

I still think we intend to let Coutinho go and buy a centre back.}

Wow, if lemar joins we are going to be so spoilt for choice! I would not want to play liverpool. Kieta news just in too. Turning out to be quite a good summer. I'd prefer lemar to coutinio as lemar wants to join.

Thanks for the reply. Good man.

Morning all

A great 3 points yesterday and a clean sheet.

Eds my question is regarding Renato Sanchez link. i've read through and youve explained a loan possibility and a perm might be difficult for any intetested side but can you confirm our interest either way please and are we lookng to bring him in perhaps as an alternative to Keita?

Believable2 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - If Liverpool take him on loan then they will need to guarantee playing time - and that is always a difficult thing for a club to do (particularly when loaning a player of some significant value). If Liverpool were to buy him there would be a risk as he is far from cheap and given his failure to settle in Germany we could potentially see the same in England. In terms of "Liverpool being in talks ..." that I cannot confirm. What I can say is that on Thursday a representative of Bayern Munich and a well know Intermediary discussed the player with two potentially interested parties and both want further discussions. So whether or not Liverpool are in talks or showing an interest I cannot say. I can say that I am pretty sure they have not spoken with his Intermediary as he was with one of the other clubs all day yesterday.

I have explained what I know about Keita and then Macca has made it pretty clear what he knows. I am not getting embroiled in that.}

Eds is there any way we can actually keep emre can its sounds like its a for gone conclusion he will leave at end of season as for me give him anything he wants game time the money anythin cos he is a crucial cog in this liverpool team.

I totally agree hailstones. Anyone who disagrees that Can is massive for us must have missed the last two games (which he owned) I would offer him anything he wants. He is the best CM at the club atm. I love Hendo BTW, fantastic player. With Can, those two can boss most games.

Hi Eds

Are you guys still confident that we will bring in 2/ 3 people before the window shuts? .

Do you think loan deals could happen for Origi and Ings?

Thanks for all efforts during a very difficult window.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - yes and yes, it is likely one will go on loan, probably Origi as Ings is not really fit enough to play regularly yet.}

28 Aug 2017 04:55:48
I'm thinking a CB, CM and a wide player if Origi goes out on loan. And please sort out Can's contract now. I'd rather resign Carroll for 35 million again than lose Can for free.

A loan for origi is what the lad needs as for ings he needs u23 games till xmas go get used to playing agin before I would even consider 1st team opportunities . Also I fear we may need the 3 mentioned positions above but would love the winger / wide player to be a young up and coming to learn from mane/ salah maybe a demerai gray?

28 Aug 2017 06:23:24
Or maybe a Woodburn or Kent. No point in sending out players on loan, if we plan on signing someone to replace them. We would need someone more of a complete product instead.

28 Aug 2017 08:17:07
In the red

I don't think the club know what position Woodburn is and Kent like salah would play right wing and cut in on left foot so the need for a right footed left winger as cover for mane is IMO needed for the squad not the finished article but someone who is able to grow and eventually push for that spot.

Hi ed01,great result yesterday and great performance, enjoyed the match review, the obvious guys will get the deserved praise but special mention to Moreno, the guys received a lot of flak, a lot deserved, but he's put the head down worked hard and playing really well, fair play to the lad, and I hate international breaks😠,

A quick question ed do you expect the clubs stance on couts to remain til the end of the window, that's he's not for sale, cheers.

{Ed001's Note - publicly yes.}

28 Aug 2017 09:02:17
Hopefully yesterday put an end to us being interested in Oxlade Chamberlain, that is not a £35-40m player. Not fit to lace the boots of Mane or Salah.

Publicly ed01? Have things changed behind closed doors?

{Ed001's Note - no.}

Still think we should sell Coutinho if Barcelona offer enough money and a suitable replacement can be found. Having a player who refused to play for the club "at any cost" to force a move to Barcelona will have a negative impact on the squad. His team mates will know he is not dedicated to the squad, and it will simply create friction if Klopp throws him back into the first team at another player's expense.

I agree DHFC, but it would hard to sign people who are on the cusp of breaking into the squad for a World Cup year. We are having a hard time convincing Can at the moment. Kemt and Woodburn could offer relief and rest during the early stages of the league and FA Cup or even into the latter stages. Origi could play out in the wings if necessary, but it appears he will be going out on loan. Btw Ed's, do you any of you know if suitors for him if he does go out on loan.

{Ed025's Note - accrington?..

I actually think Origi on loan could be good for all - think Solanke gets more game time (something I really want to see, he looks class) and hopefully Origi is a regular starter somewhere to continue his development. As it stands there's a risk neither get enough time on the pitch.

Worst case in event of injuries and us needing 4 strikers we have Mane who can play upfront or Ings once he's back up to fitness.

AA Gent is interested to take Origi on a 6-month loan deal.
