any of the EDS any truth in pedro neto rumours and has he been looked at atleast past season or so couse if shaq and origi go one of saul bissuma or neuhous plus neto is decent business for me.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Pedro Neto (LW/RW/S) At this time I am not aware of any approach to Wolves for the versatile Neto, although clubs may have spoken with his agent. Manchester United have watched him, along with Manchester City. Whilst I would expect Wolves to resist a sale a significant offer may prove tempting. Nuno may look to taking him to Spurs with him. And an offer from Juventus will be the starting point for his agent to try and extract. Wolves would likely not be interested unless something like £50M was offered. I am not aware of any approach by Liverpool who would need to make a major sale first I would think. It is unclear when he will be ready to play after injury.}

Is he not out injured for another few months regardless of interest?

Out if interest Ed002, who would you expect Wolves would demand a bigger fee out of Traore and Neto? I'd much rather Neto myself 😆.

{Ed002's Note - Neto.}

29 Jul 2021 10:57:37
Does anybody know what colour Mercedes Traore will arrive in for his medical?

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jul 2021 11:35:47
Is there enough baby oil at the club for Traore? Need him slicker than slick.

29 Jul 2021 11:58:10
If his driving is like his shooting and crossing MK, he’ll drive past Anfield and end up in Tranmere.

Don't need to worry about that Southern we are sponsored by Nivea.

Thanks Ed002, that's my day ruined, Traore it is ☹.

29 Jul 2021 13:02:27
I think there's a player in Traore with the right coaching. I'd certainly rather him coming off the bench than origi or taki.

Completely agree with you, RW. He intrigues me a lot if the transfer price and wages make sense. Salah's finishing improved last year (he was excellent), but prior to that, both he and Mane really flourished playing in a system that gave them a lot of opportunities to score. Someone who is athletic, aggressive to the goal, smart, and has a decent scoring sense can score in droves up front and they don't necessarily need to be the most clinical finisher. Traore's scoring record doesn't concern me much because I believe if he caught on to the system, he could be really dominant.

29 Jul 2021 15:07:16
There’s definitely not a player there, he’s literally got no end product. He can’t shoot, his passing is awful and his crossing is best described as “hit and hope”. Most of the time he runs the ball out of play or into blind alleyways. Even Harry Wilson has outscored him . If goals are the currency that forwards are judged on, then you have to say that Traore is a fairly poor one. The comparison with Salah and Mane is false equivalency as both Mane and Salah had very good scoring records prior to joining us, the same cannot he said for Traore, you can’t polish a turd I’m afraid. No amount of mental gymnastics is going to make this a good transfer.

joke of a player, no no no.

29 Jul 2021 18:19:56
Does he supply his own baby oil? Maybe we could strike a deal with Johnsons to offset his fee?

In all seriousness I'm not a big fan but if he was relatively cheap (whats that these days? ), I would be happier to see him come of the bench than Shaq or Origi. that's not me saying he's a great player but more the bar is pretty low when it comes to some players, especially last season. It literally wouldn't be too hard to improve on and should be done as a matter of urgency.

This might be Klopps third stinker of signing after Karius and Naby. Saw yesterday in Pep's training diary that Naby tried to hide out of view to avoid the press up punishment for his side loosing a training exercise . That and not learning the language suggest he is a lazy slug.

more of a request for better knowledge than an outright commitment for or against AT joining us, and yes i think his goal output could be a lot better and his numbers are nowhere near what our players are producing at the moment, but I wonder if his poor assist record is more down to him not providing or the the person he is providing to not actually putting in the net. If he is providing the crosses and the striker is not scoring then that will surely bring down the assist record.

As wolves main striker Jiminez was out since November his replacement in the team may not have had the goal output that Jiminez had.

Again, I have not seen much of him and what i have seen he looks very menacing but I just wonder if the drop in standard of striker he was creating for would make a significant difference to assist ratio.

Yeah, GR I think you're correct there. I'm not going to act as if I watch Wolves matches either, I'm going purely off stats, but they still offer an insight nevertheless.

In PL 19/ 20 he had 13 goal contributions (4G 9A) from 2604 minutes played, whereas in PL 20/ 21 he (only) had 5 goal contributions (2G 3A) from 2643 minutes, a clear downturn between the two seasons.

However, what VVVV said also holds true. In his last season at Roma, Salah played 2486 minutes and made 28 goal contributions (15G 13A) in Serie A.

In his last PL season at Southampton, Mane made 18 goal contributions (11G 7A) in 2606 minutes.

I know the Liverpool scouts look at much more in-depth data than I do, so take what I say with a pinch of salt, but I don't think Traore shows the same potential that Salah and Mane did.

Hey edd02 seeing a few rumours that we have had a bid rejected for arnaut danjuma from bournemouth, is there any interest from us?
Cheers.

{Ed002's Note - Someone is teasing you. There was interest a couple of years ago. Not now - he is moving elsewhere.}

We have also reportedly prepared a bid for Saul. 😜.

I love red top journalism headlines. How do you prepare a bid? 😂

Edwards: "Yes Jurgen, i've got the fax prepared. €50m paid annually in €2m installments over the next 25 years. Just waiting on Tom or John to sign the permission form. "

Klopp: "Great job Michael. Boom"

For me I would be selling both Origi and Shaqiri and bring in someone like Abrahams or Watkins as a plan B out and out striker.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed0666's Note - Abraham is no better than Origi…

28 Jul 2021 14:14:09
we don't have funds to sign Saul who is a proven player at the highest level so I can't see us signing Watkins who would cost upwards of £80m as Villa don't need to sell.

Abraham is far better than Origi. Chris Wood and Ashley Barnes are better than Origi.

{Ed002's Note - This relentless abuse of current Liverpool players and past Liverpool players, and potential Liverpool pkayers from ignorant glifnards like you brings huge embarrassment to the Liverpool fan base. We don't need this on these pages.}

Origi is a class act both on and off the pitch and has given us plenty of joy over the years, if he leaves I wish him the best. If he doesn’t I hope he proves doubters wrong.

@Grino, £45M is the most Watkins would fetch this summer.

Doubt it Sean mate. Villa bought him for £30m, he'd a very good season for them, England debut and goal to boot. Plus they're loaded and have no need to sell. I doubt they'd entertain anything below £50+m.

Origi is not a bad player but maybe he doesn't suit klopp's system well. Sometimes it is unfair to expect players that don't get to play regularly to come in and perform instantly or make a huge impact. If you take last season as an example, even Mane dropped form and couldn't perform although he is automatically picked to start almost every game.

That being said, I hope Origi leaves so that he can go to a club that can play him regularly. He deserves that and hopefully he can revive his career.

MK Scouser - how do you prepare a bid? Are you serious? Do you think you just allocate a budget, spend the money and don't have to think about the risks, the payment structure, amortisation and persuasive to the player? There are insurance implications, authorisations and another whole host of things that need to be taken into account before you take £50m out of a business.

Things have changed and these things take time. There will be multiple bid preparations going on in the background as we speak, some/ most of which the 'business' cannot justify because of association risks against benefits. It is incredibly naive to think there is a budget that you can just spend.
