If Wickham chooses to sign for Sunderland it will just prove he doesn't have the ambition to play at the highest level. I know if I was an 18yo footballer and knew Liverpool where interested I'd ensure I had at least the opportunity to have talk with them not just jump at the first big offer that comes in for me. I would assume his agent is pushing through the Sunderland medical hoping another bigger bid comes in

28 Jun 2011 23:26:08
We have only been linked to wickham because of rumours if we dont bid for him its not because we cant afford too or he doesnt want to join its because we were never interested if we are interested expect a bid tomo.

sunderland have beat us to wickham and now reports linking them to shane long also. not sure how much we were chasing either one of them but that is 1 maybe 2 strikers we were beat to by a mid table side

28 Jun 2011 23:19:56
blah blah blah, why do they keep on and on, oh we've not bought so an so , we're all gonna die boo hoo, what a load of big girls blouses.we're gonna kick some butt next season, and that i do know.kyb.

To those who keep on about us "missing out" on targets consider the "good business practises" of the new owners.
They are seeking results and not looking for mercenaries.
If KK & DC are not willing to pay what teams are asking then they don't believe the player is good enough an investment for that price. And if LFC are not willing to pay the incredible wages the players are demanding then we are moving in the right direction. Focus most of the money not on the weekly pay but on the win bonus's, assists, goals, clean sheets. That way you get passionate players who want to win game in and game out. KK & DC will pay what they feel a player is worth, taking into full account the odds of the foreign player not gel'in with the team or not adapting to the premiership(most foreign players aren't luis suarez). That is why LFC are willing to pay more for players proven in the premiership cos you know what you getting, rather than some less expensive wizzard with a ball stumbling over his own feet once he gets into the premiership. There's also squad relations to take into account. The more the players have in common, language etc, the more the mix off the pitch the more they're willing to learn and understand each other on the pitch. Football may be a universal language but a team of mates will always be more united than a team of guys who only get together on the pitch. Kenny knows this. This is the Liverpool way. And he is trying to bring this back to LFC. That family kind of bond in the squad that would go out and play with passion and die for each other on the pitch till the final whistle. Its not possible when everyone speaks a different language. The players you see kenny bring in will be heart first, ability second... Cos a passionate player will give you 100% throughout the season and not bail out of tackles compared to hattricks in 6 matches and buggerall for the rest of the season. AND THAT IS WHY WE ARE PERSUING ADAM, DOWNING AND WHOEVER ELSE KK PERSUES. So put away your wishlists. This game is not won on paper its won on the pitch.

If it is sensible to pay 20 Million for Henderson, then it is more then sensible to pay 13 for Wickham and MORE than MORE than sensible to pay 20-25 for Mata. Sort it out DC&KK... YNWA

28 Jun 2011 23:01:19
If I hear.... "looks like we missed out on another target ed" one more time...ffs.
Has kenny pinned the incoming players list on this website ed? because it seems that everyone and their mum are sure that they know who our targets are
jonnybarnes89-90
p.s maybe we will be original and sign someone that no-one is talking about....

28 Jun 2011 22:02:34
Payet signs for Lille.....another one missed........10Mil Euro's..............that's a reasonable price

28 Jun 2011 21:58:33
I don't care how long KK was out of management (He kept involved in the game at some level)

1) He is still going to know a good player when he sees one.
2) he proved in the last half of the season he's still got what it takes.
3) He brought in Steve Clark to assist (knowing he needed good coaches to help him)
4) Him and Commoli have probably got their ideas of who they want what price they're willing to go to.. Maybe we disagree at some of the prices, but They obviously think Henderson & Carroll were worth the price with regards to potential and future values

Commoli must know a thing or two or he would never have got to where he is now, and he has spotted some good players for other teams.

The owners have shown their willing to back the purchase of the players that the King and Commoli think worthwhile.

Adam - taking along time cause Liverpool obviously only rate him a certain price (less than Henderson). Wickham, obviously either not interested at all or again only at a certain price.

No matter what we think of the targets mentioned (if true) they have, when all is said and done, been better than some of the players we have at the club now, and were being linked with last year.

We're in a lot better a position than this time last year. I'm thankful for that and anything extra is a bonus. Though I still believe we'll be back in the top four this coming season, and challenging and claiming top spot within three.

The Liverbird is on the rise... Keep Faith.

it only says they expect wickham to have a medical at sunderland not that he will definitely be having medical, it says ipswich have accepted the bid but not that connor has accepted a deal too. ed what you reckon do you think he has accepted a deal and will have a medical, and do you think liverpool will make a bid and mess up sunderlands chances {Ed002's Note - Liverpool may have an interest, but if he is overpriced I guess Liverpool will walk away.}

Hi ed, big fan of the sight on it everyday just thought I would put my opinion out here and see what people think, I'm a die hard pool fan have been for years just seeing these rumours about downing, Adam, Lennon etc makes me feel sick There no gods like robbie fowler no king like your kenny dalglish or your legend of today stevie g. We need players with class players such as, Adam johnson of man city we can get him for 20 mill great his a lad that just loves to play football like suarez there gonna be the names to remember in 30 years tym not downing, need a player who can play centre mid we just signed henderson this kid is class him with spearing coming through Kelly at the back right training we will be kings of England and Europe once again what's the fellow reds opinions on this would like too know Old timer dave

apparently, according to my english teacher(from blacklpool and his family live there) charlie a**m has bought a house in blackpool near his relative.t make of it what you will.

i am not lying i have no reason to lie i love lfc and would like a**m to come. i only talk the truth

28 Jun 2011 22:04:03
Hi ed,
Do you actually think that the like of downing, A**m and Wickham are good enough for Liverpool? Arguabley there is better talent at a similar price. I would rather see the likes of mata, banega and munian wearing the red of liverpool. I know we want British players, but foreigners add flair and fluidity to our game not just the ability to stick a leg in like a British player would. We need a Luis Garcia and Xabi Alonso type of player.
Please post in rumours
Thanks,
Paisley

KK suposidly looking at English players. Why would a man of this class chase players who bottle it at the highest levels such as the world cup
A source from spain has informed me that Lfc are in talks with barcelona pair: jeffren and david villa. Source claims funds need raising for the fabregas and sanchez deals with villa and jeffren offered to LFc for 40M.

Yes connor wickham is having a medical tomorrow but at melwood after a 13.1M fee was agreed

Only one winger will sign. KK and DC will hand Suso a 5 year deal before the end of the summer. They feel he can be brought slowly into the first team, Kuyt will retain his position with Suso coming off the bench and will most likely earn a first team start.

Fellow liverpool fans. Panic not.
Ipswich released details of the "medical" tomorrow to try and force Liverpools hand. I am 80% sure Connor will not join sunderland.
Kenny will make an acceptable bid before the weekend.

I've been traveling around and getting information of a variety of sources. I am now back home in Liverpool - a very good source told me that we are looking to open negotiations with Fiorentina concerning Vargas. He'd be pricey so i asked if Aquaman would be part of the deal - he said he didn't know but said were basically trying to get him offloaded anywhere. I'd like to see Vargas but i think his signing could stretch our budget too far. My source offered no guarantees simply that we were going to open negotiations, make of it what you will

Some "dubious" rumours on the ssn website:-

Nasri & Aguero to sign next week
Forlan
Lovren
& the usual Adam & Diego

Also "apparently" there is a medical planned for tomorrow but not many people know about it, source is an ex-player "apparently" - dont hold your breath folks...............how many have we heard this.

Hi ed, please post in rumours.

I honestly believe there are three types of player we are looking TO SIGN FOR THE SQUAD:

starting 11 player: player that will slot straight into the first team and play regularly i.e. CLICHY, DOWNING, MATA ETC

squad player: players to add strength in depth to our squad, won't necessarily start every game but will be on the bench sometimes e.g. ADAM, DANN, CAHILL ETC

young players who will be stars in the future: e.g HENDERSON, WICKHAM ETC and from the academy: SUSO, COADY, STERLING ETC

tbh the most needed player positions atm are LB and LW. all that needs to happen is to get the deadwood off our wage bill, and fill out the squad with good quality players who are not injury prone (and not necessarily expensive) that can do a job for us week in/week out.

How sad coming onto a liverpool website and saying u are going to sign 3 of our best players is just really sad why the hell would gerrard go to such an unsuccessful team also suarez and reina arent money grabbers like the rest of your players

Lavezzi showed his desire to leave napoli and we're going to put in a bid for him according to liverpool echo

28 Jun 2011 18:13:10
The 1st of July will come and go with nothing happening. KK seems like he is going good (over-priced) premiership players. No big name superstar signings for Liverpool. Many of you will be very dissapointed when the window finally shuts. Kenny has some decent signing in his time, but has still made far more bad signings than good signings. 4th place is a decent target for Liverpool next season. Especially with the players they are currently most likely getting.

28 Jun 2011 18:11:26
liverpool to put 7mil in for malouda as malouda has been told he can leave that what i believe

28 Jun 2011 18:02:23
Why are we not pushing for conor wickham he is a self confest liverpool fan who would play with his heart on his sleeve we need passionate players cause carra and gerrard aint goin be a round forever.

TEAM LAMELA.

28 Jun 2011 17:52:26
Why are people so obsessed with Mata. Yes of course, hes top class and he is a very willing and reasonable target but people are acting like he has set the world alight and he is the only option available. Im not saying hes not top class but I think people's expectations are far too high and should prepare themselves for a very big let down in terms of Mata not coming to Liverpool. Thanks

28 Jun 2011 17:59:28
Liverpool to sign shola ameobi. Mark my words

28 Jun 2011 17:42:07
This site is absolue class. you've got the jokers, the hopers and the outright fanatisers. I personally enjoy reading a lot of the rumours ect. Some i totally ignore after the first few words or sentances and i do admit to hope to find a feasable enough rumour to hang on to. However i don't expect every thing written to be bonifido and i do have my suspicions about other tribesman to be taking the mick out of us reds who use this site, by blatanly bull-s**tting.
As I said it;s a great fun site full of everthing, and i know Red fans are gettin frustrated by the lack of transfer news regarding the mighty Reds;and even more annoying watching the mancs making headway with their signings. Well stuff them and have more faith in The King. The vast majority of Liverpool surporters wanted him in.Give Kenny the chance and respect he deserves and be patient and don't blame the Ed for lack of transfer activity or moan about jokers or fantasisers on this site. lighten up folks its a RUMOUR SITE NOT A TRANSFER FACT SITE.

One more thing Charlie Adam and Stuart Dowinng are just 2 players out of numerous targets who we are focusing on bringing in but how many players are we trying to get rid of, and there lies our biggest problem difficult individuals with massive egos who think they're better than they are. Making high wage demands so on and so on.
John Henry and co stated they were concerned by the lack of quality and massive wage bill, basically to many crap players with lucrative contracts and those sponging of the club. So Kenny has got lots on his plate. lots of of juggling to do and many cards to play. He will bring in players in this transfer window that will please and one or two that won't, but whoever he brings in will be well thought out and all part of the master plan.

I personally think we will not bring in Downing or Enrique and can not see deigo being considered as he is trouble.
thanks Ed for providing a great site.

The Red Oracle.

28 Jun 2011 17:27:34
I wonder what the hell is going on at times?
Why have we blown 20m on Henderson, when it has looked to me that Shelvey is shaped as a Gerrard replacement for the future? If he goes on loan, that's a kiss of death. Disappointed.

Really hope we do inject a bit of talent from abroad as it's limiting go for UK alone. I mean, what team has done damage with UK based players recently?

I do hope we haven't turned into some blinkered and xenophobically transfer-minded team due to claims by Carra and the like that we should go british.

Players like Alonso and Reina have arguably been our best players over the last 7 years. I await July 1st with interest

28 Jun 2011 17:24:03
I hope most of the rumours here are from people talking through their hat because some of them are genuinely scary if they're not. The likes of Benjamin Moukandjo being described as players we should be looking at? A chap who scored 12 goals in the last four years and whos team got relegated for lack of goals...sounds great. It seems many people have forgotten about talent like Pacheco now that we have a few bob to throw around.

Hopefully this kind of thinking hasn't spread to the upper echelons in the club, although seeing us overpay for Henderson and potentially do the same for Downing isn't filling me with confidence.

Sky Sports reporting five clubs have met the release clause for Neymar with fans expecting a marquee signing and liverpool having the money to spend and the way we do our transfer business now do you think we could maybe one of the clubs ? I'm not saying I believe we are just an interesting thought what do you think Eds ? {Ed002's Note - Liverpool are not one of the clubs.}

28 Jun 2011 17:08:24
Eds people have been saying adam deal to be confirmed with so many hours but they claim to have not received any offers. What is the latest? {Ed002's Note - Efforts are being made to reach an acceptable deal - those eforts are ongoing.}

28 Jun 2011 17:00:51
hi eds, just wondering whether mata consistently saying he doesn't care about Champions League football being his way of either saying Kenny come and get me or perhaps that we are in talks with him and he has never ruled Liverpool out of the equation, whilst previous 'targets' such as Coentrao and Hazard were quick to dismiss Liverpool rumours. We are also odds on to sign him on skybet (8/11). do you agree that this is encouraging or is it just optimistic? HD {Ed009's Note - I agree that all the signs so far are encouraging. With any other player of his calibre I would be telling everyone that we had no chance, but in this case I think we do.}

28 Jun 2011 16:57:30
Scott Dann will sign as soon as fitness is proved. Downing and Adam most probable of other transfers

28 Jun 2011 16:54:05
Do you think Neven Subotić would warrant the interest of DC and KK? The serbian is rock solid and I can't see him costing a lot more than Cahill. {Ed002's Note - He will probably not move this year and is likely to move to his stated preferences of Chelsea or Manchester United when the time comes.}

28 Jun 2011 16:52:52
SAF HEARD THAT LFC ARE LOOKING TO SIGN MATA SO HES GOING TO OFFER A SWAP DEAL INVOLVING BERBATOV GOING THE OTHER WAY + CASH LETS AVIT FOR THE NEW SEASON WHOEVER WE SIGN TOP 4 FINISH AND IM A HAPPY RED

Ed's, sorry to be kinda normal and sane but why not make up an LFC opinion page so most of the muppets who post can squeal to each other all of their b******t and moaning i love LFC always will but some of these idiots do my napper in. as ppl say well dont read the site, but it is a rumours page and i'm hooked

Still the best site around keep it up
Big G {Ed002's Note - We are constantly looking at options and it is fair to say that putting the buttons back has just resulted in more visibility of folks who are unhappy. Perhaps the news of a transfer when it comes will cheer folks up.}

28 Jun 2011 16:18:01
ed any news and chances of ryad boudebouz?? {Ed002's Note - Boudebouz has had a good season for Sochaux. St-Etienne want the player to replace Dmitri Payet and Marseille, Lyon and Newcastle are showing some interest. There was interest from Spurs and Liverpool last year and perhaps exagerated at this time in an effort being made to beef up his price. Any rekindled interest by Liverpool may be offset by the player saying he wants to stay another year at Sochaux. So a chance.}

Just heard an unusual rumour, kk is not just in talks with Johnson but also swp, but stranger things happen, take downing at twenty million

28 Jun 2011 16:22:59
The guardian says Ipswich accepted £13mil offer for Wickham from sunderland. ED and Macca, do you still think we will get him? when Arsenal will probably get Gervinio for less than that money, I believe that there are better strikers out there for that kind of money

miccmak {Ed009's Note - the offer is 9 million with 4 million of add ons as far as I'm aware. Furthermore I believe we still have a chance of signing a player who really wants to play for Liverpool.}

28 Jun 2011 16:15:51
Meireles may soon be forgotten if Liverpool succeed in landing wily Wolfsburg schemer Diego. On the other hand, there are also suggestions today Dalglish intends solving Liverpool's left-back conundrum by giving a contract to Wayne Bridge

isit true ed? are we really going for wayne bridge and diego you reckon?

james-lyf89 {Ed009's Note - I very much doubt we are going for Bridge. I remember us being linked with him previously and this is probably lazy journalism because we have been linked with every other left back under the sun. On the other hand we did make an enquiry for Diego - who is interestingly available for just 10 million euros - but it appears to be no more than interest at this time.}

Ed I've heard a strange one from friends in Liverpool that we're looking at bringing Adam Hammill back to Anfield from Wolves... This doesn't make sense to me, he's a good player and wouldn't cost much but i just dont understand why when there's better players out there {Ed009's Note - I can't see this signing happening.}

28 Jun 2011 16:08:15
Any news on Honda? Seems like juve are trying to wrap up a deal.. IMO he's a better player than Adam and offers more than Adam does due to his versatility.
Irf_lfc {Ed009's Note - I think we missed the chance to sign the player in January when he was readily available. On top of that the player would prefer a move to Spain, or perhaps Italy, as he believes the style of play would suit him better.}

28 Jun 2011 15:54:42
Sky sports now reporting that Sanchez will only move to Barca & not City, presume ed that will rule out us landing Johnson but aid us in getting Mata?

Preston wool {Ed009's Note - I think there are so many different permutations of the situation that any situation could aid or harm our chances. I think the main deciding factor will be how high we bid and how much we persuade Mata he is wanted. We need to stop blaming other teams and make sure we do everything we can ourselves.}

Liverpool are interested in Middlesbrough's utility player Rhys williams. Williams 22, is already capped by Australia, can play in a number of positions including centre back, left back, right back and central midfield. William is monitoerd by reds and would cost up to 2.5 million. What's your opinion ed.
SOURCE:DAILY MAIL {Ed009's Note - I have heard of no interest in the player at this time I'm afraid.}

Just seen on SSN that Newcastle expect to see Enrique for pre-season on Monday and confirmed that they have not received any offers for him or even Joey Barton. Is DC and KK holding back on making offers for likes of Enrique, Dann, Downing, Clichy. Are they all smokescreens? etc

(Please post as i have yet to see any of my posts appear)

Hi all just heard that Rhys Williams from Middlesborough is being linked.
Being an Aussie I have followed him a little watching internationals and so forth will be great value at 2.5 million, but alas not good enough for Liverpool.

Hi All,

I see a lot of comment concerning Downing and Mata, and that Adam will soon be a LFC player. May well be, but no one seems to have picked up on the serious hard work Liverpool were doing (oh so very quitely) for Pedro Leon. We offered him a bumper financial package and he has turned us down. However reports in the Dutch speaking world like voetbalprimeur and voetbalcentraal.nl claim that we are still pursuing the right winger who has seriously fallen out of favour at Real (which player doesn't).

Downing I think is a 2nd, or last report choice as there are better players out there by a long shot.

Ed's what do you think ? Is it possible that after we got turned down that we will offer him more?

Thanks,

Andy W in Holland {Ed001's Note - I believe we walked away after he showed no interest in moving to England.}

Charlie Adam to Liverpool imminent

www.nesn.com/2011/06/liverpool-expected-to-complete-charlie-adam-transfer-deal-within-two-days.html

it says on NESN site 'former blackpool midfielder'
i think something has happened.
NESN knows about it but not making it public.

=======

NESN site completely unreliable as just piggy backs on any rumours posted elsewhere. Which is very disappointing considering they should have the inside scoop before anyone else... But guess that would give the game away so can't blame them.

Hello, I only drop the odd rumour on here as i dont get that much info but what i do get is pretty accurate.

We have opened talks with Matas agent (his Father)
agreed in principal to meet Athelticos valuation of 22 million euros.

Adam deal is on but Blackpool are playing hardball for there best player (as any club would). Jonjo isnt going on Loan. No one at the club has a clue where this has come from. He is in the squad for next season believe me.

Aureilio will still be at the club and will be main left back with flannagan coming in for when Aureilio is injured. (This is a cert)

Joe cole is going to be kept.

Kyriagkos may be kept dependant on targets of who i have no names for (sorry could make them up like most but i know of none except what we see in news.)

Final one Diego talks have already taken place. he will be available for around 8-10 million. If we sign him is a different matter.

Be patient Redmen the signings are coming.

Eddielfc {Ed009's Note - I'm afraid to say that Mata plays for Valencia, not Atletico.}

Will anything Actually happen before July 1st?.... honestly? thoughts Eds? (please post in rumours) many thanks, Great Uncle Jay {Ed009's Note - considering that is just 3 days away, perhaps not. You just need to content yourself with the fact that the board are working hard on signing players, notably Downing and Adam, and that players will sign when we have achieved the best deal that seems possible, not in order to satisfy any fans.}

@ED....When adam signed a new contract with blackpool in feb/may could it be that an inflated release clause was included in the deal which liverpool and every other club are now not prepared to match for a championship player? And oyston is delusional thinking that he'd get the same enthusiastic bids as he got in January.... {Ed002's Note - I doubt it - just allow them a little time to figure it out.}

Guys

I look on this site regularly and have a chuckle at everyone jumping on the 'smokescreen speculative signings'.

I'm not going to name my source but I will tell you one thing...we WON'T buy Juan Manuel Mata.

Why? Because it's a smokescreen for none other than Eden Hazard, deal had been in negotiation for weeks a big cash offer plus Lille OSC have a choice of two players from (Jovanovic, Poulsen, Ngog, El Zhar, Insua, ) it seems the only player interested in moving to Lille is Ngog (as he wants to go back to France, hence the Sunderland rejection)

I don't care if you believe this or not...just mark my words

Arsene Wenger has finally turned up to the summer sales and offered a club record £18million for Valencia midfielder Juan Mata. The 23-year-old's agent has held talks with Gunners officials as Wenger has watched his rivals strengthen their squad. A deal is now expected to be tied up as Mata is happy to discuss his future with the European Under 21 Championships complete. He was a top target for Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish but was unable to offer the Spain international the Champions League football he craves. {Ed009's Note - he craves Champions league football despite having consistently emphasised how little it means to him in the immediate term?}

28 Jun 2011 14:26:31
We are in trouble. Bad signings already and with downing/adam and dann suggested, things arent going to get better. Kenny is living off past glories and his choice in players when he was at Newcastle and Celtic should concern everyone. not taking into account the amount of money spent on henderson and carroll, these guys are simply not good enough. end of. Sick of hearing 'kenny knows best' or 'have faith with kk' rubbish. He is out his depth. Some of yous need to take the blinkers off and see exactly what is happening

Liverpool will announce the £26million double signing of Blackpool captain Charlie Adam and Aston Villa winger Stewart Downing in the next 24 hours. Liverpool director of football, Damien Comolli, was holding discussions with the Tangerines chairman Karl Oyston over a £10million deal for Adam. A £16million deal for Downing.

From Skysport News:

Blackpool have told Skysports news that they "have not yet recieved any bids for Charlie Adam".

Stoke's bid for Scott Dann rejected.

Assuming Liverpool step up their efforts for Scott Dann then there is no competition.
As far as I'm aware then he'll be a Liverpool player soon.

Ed's please post in questions.
I was just wondering do clubs still have to pay the players wages once the season ends?
Thanks
LfcWes605 {Ed001's Note - yes, some clubs put provisions for lowering the wages during the close season. For instance Blackpool pay their players something like £75 a week while they are not training.}

Hi Eds, Is this true or just a poke at Blackpool, if it is true I am amazed why Oyston doesnt want to get the Adam deal done asap, look at all the money he would save. haha John Wigan {Ed002's Note - There are plenty of clubs who adjust the wage structure to match their income structure. A lot of small clubs work very much hand to mouth - and there is practically no income in the summer months.}

28 Jun 2011 13:54:33
Ed where is this charlie adam thing going? will he have to go on stricke to get his move to Liverpool or does he just want to get away from Blackpool to anyone {Ed002's Note - You need to have patience whilst teh club try and strike a deal.}

28 Jun 2011 13:50:23
Liverpool are keeping their cards to their chest as they have one or two big transfers lined up once the international transfer window opens. Mata is their number one target but if they are unable to get him then they will turn their attention to lennon or downing who they feel are both being overpriced. Liverpool are willing to pay higher wages than arsenal which may persuade Mata to come.
Adam is desperate to join but the blackpool chairman is waiting for a bidding war to break out which it seems is about too.
They have another huge foreign signing in the pipeline but no decision can be made until next week - Cavani and Diego the likely targets.

Ed, just to clear things up on Micah Richards. Did we or did we not enquire for him in january, and if we did why aren't we following our interest up. He would be a quality CB and I'm sure he wants regular games which he would get at Liverpool. Please answer of the current situation. Thanks a million Ed, and please keep up the magnificent work, well done to all of you btw Thanks {Ed002's Note - Yes there was interest in January; I have no idea why there appears to be none now.}

Getting fed up of all the whinging The transfer window is like this every year People saying FSG are like H+G is absolute madness. The internaional window isn't yet open and who knows, if clubs like Stoke are bidding for Danns then mabey KK doesn't think he's up to it. Every one is waiting to find out who will be signing but for God's sake have a little patience.

From Talksport

Liverpool are facing a fight to sign Charlie Adam after two unnamed Premier League sides entered the race for the Blackpool star.
The Reds are desperare to tie up a deal for the Scottish international and are apparently ready to offer cash plus players to force the move through, including allowing highly-rated midfielder Jonjo Shelvey to move to Bloomfield Road on a season-long loan deal.
But now a source close to the player has told talkSPORT two other top-flight clubs are set to enter the bidding war for the Scottish international.
Former Rangers midfielder Adam, 25, had an exceptional debut season in the Premier League, scoring 12 goals, and was the subject of a failed bid by Tottenham in the January transfer window.
Blackpool chairman Karl Oyston has revealed there have been no formal bids for Adam.

28 Jun 2011 13:06:11
WE NEED TO STOP WASTING OUR TIME WITH ADAM he is not good enough to be argueing over for months There other better options than him that we should look to pursue instead (I know the foreign window hasnt opened but lets open talks with the players atleast):
Diego 15m
Banega 14m
Defour 12m
Sissoko 10m
Vidal 14m
Toalalon(?) 12m

Speaking to L'Est Republicain, Boudabouz said: "The Liverpool interest is solid. There has been contact but we have to take our time, meet the chairman and remain calm.

"I want to sit down and discuses things when we return for pre-season training.

"If there is an important offer, we will not be able to turn it down. I don't wish to leave Sochaux, but if there is an offer on the table, I will think about it."

28 Jun 2011 12:09:49
Ed whats happening ?Blackpool have released a statement that they have recieved no offers(ssn 12.05pm).Either we are brilliant at keeping things secret or DC really has not got a clue.If things don't start moving next week i am afraid to say we are in trouble.You should try to have all your new signings at pre-season it helps gel the team.Ed what is going on ?(RD.RED) {Ed002's Note - Regardless of any statements made, we know that afforts are being made to strike a deal for Adam. That should be what is important to you.}

28 Jun 2011 12:44:35
Personally, I think that we should get on with it and put in these bids before we miss out on any of them:
£23m for Mata
£17m for Cahill
£8m for Adam (Shelvey and Darby on Loan)
£7m for Clichy
£16m for Downing or Turan
Max £10m for Wickham otherwise £6.5m for Nolan Roux

Then any other targets Kenny wants to buy once they are complete.

Then we can sell Meireles, Maxi, Poulsen, J Cole, Aurelio, Agger and possibly Spearing.

We could Recoup around £32m for them and therefore theoretically only spend about £40m-£50m which Man U have already spent.

I have also heard that Ryad Boudabouz (sorry about spelling) and Diego are both interested in coming to Liverpool.
Turan is a Liverpool fan and so is Wickham although we look to have lost out to both of them.
We also appear to have given up on Scott Dann and it seems that Stoke are leading the race for him.

Feedback from the Eds would be appreciated. {Ed002's Note - Why the mention of Manchester United?}

28 Jun 2011 12:44:27
Ed what the hell is going on?Stoke have a bid put in for scott dann while we are sitting waiting for a bargain.I thought we were going for the best up and coming british talent which dann is.I think nesv put all their eggs in one basket in january and with henderson.Its beginning to look like we have being taken over by more cowboys.They gave kenny dalglish the job because they knew it would keep the fans of their backs.Kennys a great manager but not a miracle worker.What is commoli at do he and kenny even speak.Its a joke the whole set-up all commoli is interested in is mediocre french players. {Ed002's Note - Stoke are free to do what they wish. Any bid for Scott Dann will have to be subject to him passing a medical - and I don't see that he is fit to take one right now. I don't see your point about mediocre French players when the club is target British players right now.}

28 Jun 2011 12:41:35
Personally i think the only way Charlie Adam is going to sign for Liverpool is if the club can arrange for him and Karl Oyston to be locked in a room for ten minutes, i imagine after that the deal will go through no problem. Well assuming Oyston is still capable of signing on the dotted line afterwards.

It makes me laugh to see people having the nerve to complain about Kenny Dalglish, respect isn't given it's earned. And if he hasn't earned your respect by now i'm not really sure what the man has to do.

Also a quick question, would the new fair play rules allow the club to refurbish Anfield or to build a new stadium. Even making Anfield bigger would cost around £200m. Any idea please ed?

always a red {Ed002's Note - The FFP rules exclude all costs associated with improving infrastructure, such as the stadium.}

28 Jun 2011 12:40:51
I think it will be a very big mistake if LFC miss out on Connor Wickham.

The bid Sunderland have put in it £9m + £4m in add ons.

We need to sign this Player he WILL score 200 goals for Liverpool

28 Jun 2011 12:11:44
we buy a player like rubbish jordan henderson and pay way over the top and then they use the cash to buy a better player like Wickham is commoli drunk Where is Adam and why is Dalglish targeting Downing he has had ample chances to prove himself and he is rubbish even at villa and boro he nearly got relegated we have wasted so much money on carroll and henderson and they are not top 4 players even hogson wouldn't have spent 35 mill on that thing and 16 million for a player who makes poulson look good

Hey, everyone Long time reader, first time poster. Ok, listen up.

I'm told that the German club Bayer Leverkusen are in the next coming weeks expecting a bid from Liverpool for the 23 year old holding midfielder, Arturo Vidal.

Follow-up talks were held last week following LFC's initial enquiries which were made in, if my recollection is correct, sometime in May.
The feedback from both player and club was "positive".

Despite Jupp Henycke's well-documented interest in Vidal and the player's willingness to join his erstwhile trainer, he's "very much" receptive to a move to Liverpool.

I'm led to believe that Leverkusen's asking fee would be circa £18m.

My personal opinion is that Vidal is a very good player and would be ideally suited to the PL. His versatility would be handy in Kenny's systems.
His ball retention is excellent and he's also not goal-shy, having bagged 13 goals in addition to his remarkable 12 assists last season.

I hope the move does come off. At just 23, this kid is and will continue to be some player.

Lastly, the player that I'm told we are serioulsy looking at at Valencia is Pablo Hernandez. In any case, the young forward Paca Alcacer was also a subject of our enquiry. Don't know if anything more came out of that.
Mata, tentative talks were held. The feedback from the player, as is common knowledge, was positive.

We'll have to wait and see what happens.
Me for now I'm gonna enjoy my hols here in Africa.
I'll do my utmost to tell of any developments as and when they happen.

Ed, the Spanish newspaper Marca has clarified the situation with Mata (assuming they are not lying). He apparently has buyout clause of 60m. However his contract contains a clause that if Valencia receives an offer above 25m (£21m) then they will either significantly raise his salary or alternatively sell him. The paper also explains that he is Valencia's most marketable asset and the issue is when is the best time to sell him. A bid of 25m is the bottom end of what will tempt Valencia, if a club is willing to bid nearer 30m (£25m) Valencia is very likely to cash in. Reality Red

good afternoon fellow lfc fans and eds,
im a liverpool fan from plymouth and my uncle works up argyle and has close relations with peter reid, he told me that he has been told liverpool will have 3 new signing by the end of the weekend. these will be adam, downing and dann. im happy with these signings, every player will improve our squad. eg adam for poulson, downing for maxi, dann for the greek. its about building gradually and taking one step at a time. sure everybody would take 4 place now? i for one would as its an improvement and shows we ar going in the right direction.

Valencia star Juan Mata has insisted that he is not desperate to quit the club.

Liverpool and Arsenal are both understood to be keen, whilst Real Madrid and Barcelona are also thought to be on top of his situation.

But Mata says he could easily remain with Valencia, who are back in the UEFA Champions League next term.

"I want to win a trophy with Valencia next season. I've not planned anything different as I've a contract until 2015, " Mata told SuperDeporte.

Reports suggest that, although Valencia want to keep Mata, they are still financially strapped and a bid in excess of £23million could be enough to land him.

Spanish sources claim Real could be ready to offer Pedro Leon in exchange, which again could tempt Valencia.-SSN

Hey ed, gotta admit its pretty difficult to sit back and watch the mancs throw 50 million quid and build a team thats not only starting to look good for next year but for years to come to with de gea, Jones and the likes, as well as having there business done and dusted weeks before pre season training.... Do you not feel that we really wasting our time scrapping around for the likes of adam when we have already reinforced that position with henderson instead of fighting for players in more releveant positions?.... To be honest i really hope we missed out on the likes of hazard and zapata because at least it shows we are intent on signing quality players for the future and having spent all our time battling it out for the likes of adam.... I dont mean to sit here slating adam and the staff and i genuinly believe with kenny back on his thrown we will challenge next season regardless of who we throw on the pitch but if we going to challenge for years to come paricularly with the likes of Man Utd its going to take a much more impressive piece of business than the likes of adam whether we have champions league football or not.... So finally to my question can you see us wrapping up the majority of our business prior to the pre season training as commoli has stated or do you expect us to be leaving t till the end of the window again?, great site ed....

Seriously...I ma so much dissapointed with the Transfer Activities...Now common i Fully trust kK..but its been moth we are behind downing and Adam..As If LFC does not have Dignity..Player should come to us..rather we going behind...
Adam..quality player..and we should have got this sorted months back with a deal...still fighting, fighting..
Downng..18mil..common...thats too much..everyone knows we have money to spend does not mean we should dump it...
Why is Kenny so admirer of this person...?
( is he woth 18 mill??)

Disspointed we spent 16 mill on henderson..now someone pls tell me..whats he gonna do coming season.. Its afact that we are building for a future..but beware it should not be like Arsenal..

Like most of us, I would love to see some quality signings come in...the likes of Mata would be awesome.

However, I can't help thinking that for the coming season we don't need to try and be Barcelona as we're only competing domestically. That means we have to look at the likes of Man Utd, Chelsea, City, Arsenal and Spurs. While Chelsea and City are riddled with stars, it was still Man Utd who were most successful. I look at their team and think there are players there who have only become class under SAF's guidance. It pains me to say it, but the man is a great manager and I believe that Man Utd have been a success under him because he demands the best from them and gets them working like a team.

KK can do the same, as he proved last season. Liverpool players who looked poor in the first half looked class in the second half, and the youngsters like Kelly came in and looked totally at home.

Basically, while the likes of Adam and Downing don't necessarily fill me with wonder, it's not about the individuals, it's about the team. If KK builds a team that can suffer injuries to 'key' players by being organised, motivated and have players throughout who are proud to play for us, then we should be fine.

So I for one won't be getting worried about chasing marquee signings. We've got quality already, it's just a case of getting it to show on the pitch which KK can inspire.

Sorry about the long (first) post but just wanted to put things in perspective a little. Great job on this site Eds, your hard work gives a lot of people enjoyment.

Looks like KD has final say on transfers as nothing has happened since he has been on holiday, now he is back and July 1st approaches we will see plenty of activety.
Thankfully it is not down to DC or we could of had a lot of average French players.

This is from a genuine reliable source that:

Liverpool are in talks with Eden Hazard. The player has distanced himself of a possible transfer away from Lille as not to start a bidding war for his signature and is keen on joining Liverpool. Talks are still ongoing behind closed doors and Hazard will most probably be the marquee signing of this transfer window.

Dont ask me for my sources as this cannot be disclosed for several reasons and I am not forcing anyone to believe me. (The Eds are free to comment if they've had any bit of info on this transfer from their part).

Regards

k_g {Ed002's Note - I would certainly be interested to know more about your accusation. Tapping up a player is a very serious matter.}

Sunderland have agreed a £13m fee with Ipswich for striker Connor Wickham. Liverpool are still interested but must match Sunderland's bid.

Liverpool are giving up on signing Jose Enrique from Newcastle and will instead look to experienced Manchester City left-back Wayne Bridge who was on loan at West Ham last season.

Liverpool are also ready to send youngsters Jonjo Shelvey and Stephen Darby to Blackpool as part of a deal to finally land Charlie Adam.

Wolfsburg playmaker Diego has revealed he is in talks over a "dream" move to the Premier League. The 26-year-old is thought to be one of Liverpool's top summer targets.

Seems that the whispers about vargas are getting slightly stronger but now lfc are playing hardball with all possible transfers as the owners don't want a repeat of what happened with carroll. Enrique is now out of the question as the chances are it would have sparked a bidding war. Rumours are that commoli has spotted a possible left back in the south of france, but this is complete hear say. Up to a possible 7 signings needed (in my opinion) and two or three of them ( the obvious ones - adam etc - are nearly done). KK wants at least two thirds of all signings to be ready for the start of pre season so expect signings early rather later. Lastly, a teeny tiny rumour is that downing won't sign due to last minute complications, but again this is only a small rumour that's around

Liverpool defender target Michal Kadlec will wait until the summer before deciding on his future.

The Czech international has emerged as one of the left-backs reportedly on the Anfield radar, with Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish keen to strengthen in the position.

Oscar Wendt, Jose Enrique and Fabio Coentrao have also been linked within the last month, but Kadlec has spoken on the speculation and is keen to wait before a decision is made.

"There is a lot of speculation - we will see in the summer what happens, " Kadlec told Sky Sports News Radio.

"It is super for me - when I heard that Liverpool have maybe heard of me, that I exist. We will see in the summer."

The Bayer Leverkusen defender has been in fine form for the Bundesliga side this season, reportedly impressing Liverpool scouts when they made the trip to watch the player in Germany.

It's understood that 'King Kenny' is eager to find a replacement for Paul Konchesky as soon as possible, with the player set for a permanent exit following his loan out of Liverpool in January.

Glen Johnson has filled in admirably for the Reds, but the England international is not seen as the long-term option on Merseyside and Dalglish is expected to spend on the are at the end of the season.

NESV, the club's owners, proved in the last transfer window that they are willing to back the manager financially and the Liverpool faithful will be hoping the Americans do the same again at the next opportunity.

from sky sports in march;

Rubin Kazan defender Cristian Ansaldi is a potential target for Liverpool and Atletico Madrid, according to his agent.

The versatile Argentinean has been turning heads this term in the Russian league and, with his contract up at the end of 2012, he is thought to be on the radar of a number of Europe's top clubs.

The 24-year-old, who predominantly plays at left-back but can also be deployed on the right, reportedly attracted interest from Manchester City and Chelsea in the summer but a move never materialised.

According to the player's agent, Pedro Aldave, Ansaldi looks set to turn down interest from Zenit St. Petersburg in favour of a move to Europe.

Deal
Aldave told calciomercatoweb.it: "There has been some informal market interest from Liverpool and Atletico Madrid. As for Milan, there were only indirect contacts with other agents.

"He can play both on the right and left side and I think he pays for the fact he plays in Russia, otherwise he would be in the national team.

"His contract with Rubin Kazan expires in December 2012 and he has no buy-out clause. Cristian wants to go away.

"[Luciano] Spalletti wanted him to join Zenit in this market session but he just wants to go abroad. He would love to play in England, Italy or Spain.

"Last summer there was a deal with Manchester City and also some contact with Chelsea, but it all stopped because of a work permit. Now he has Italian citizenship and this could make things easier."

ed any interest shown.DORSET RED {Ed001's Note - there is defo some interest from us, but I couldn't tell you how much is still there, we have certainly had people in the area though. No idea who for or any details other than certain Liverpool officials have been spotted by reliable witnesses.}

these are my views on transfers great job as well by the way)

GK: If Jones leaves, we should buy someone like Doni as replacement
LB: Enrique, Clichy and Cissokho should be main priorities
CB: Agger leaves, Dann joins as he is a Liverpool fan and a top CB
CM: Poulsen and Aquilani leave, Shelvey loaned to Blackpool, unfortunately Meireles could move. If Adam joins, we will have Adam, Gerrard, Henderson, Lucas and Spearing, therefore i think we should be looking at Javi Martinez instead of Moussa Sissoko, as he looks the part
Wingers: Cole and Jovanovic leave, so could Maxi, Downing joins, Mata probs wont join, i think we should go for boyhood Liverpool fan Arda Turan
ST: Wickham, Park Cho Young and Benjamin Moukandjo should be main priorities
YNWA {Ed002's Note - Most, except Javi Martinez, is possible.

If the going rate for Wickham is £13 mil I hope we move onto alternatives. I can understand Downings fee, he plays for England (sometimes) is a good pro with lots of experience. Wickham may have potential but no more than 8 with add ons.
