We need to sell players, stop loaning them out.

I doubt he will be going to Watford on loan.

Agree13 Disagree2

29 Jul 2018 19:22:16
It wouldn’t make much sense to loan him out for the season unless there is a very substantial loan fee as his contract expires next summer.

Agree11 Disagree1

30 Jul 2018 14:44:38
There is no sense in letting him leave on loan with one year left.
If there are no realistic suitors Id prefer to see Solanke going out on loan gaining experience and Origi as back up as he is more reliable at this point in time.

Reina in? ;)

26 million for Origi 🤦‍♂️ Not a chance we will get that for him I’m afraid.

20 million plus add on's.

Just read a small article on the possibility of Woodburn going to villa on loan. Apparently the transfer ban should be lifted.
No idea if true just passing on what I read.

Is that the best place for him at the moment? Thought there were problems after failure to get promotion.

And cheers for that Walter mate. Should have said that.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jul 2018 18:32:57
Maybe an edd can confirm but I believe they have had some cash injection from investors.

Agree3 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - It is not quite like that.}

29 Jul 2018 19:02:38
Is it a good move for the young lad, if it happens in your opinion ed2.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - It gives him experience at a good level and as long as Liverpool have a plan for him it makes sense.}

29 Jul 2018 19:09:07
It may be good character building playing in a team that’s up against it. if he shines it will be credit to him.

Agree3 Disagree0

29 Jul 2018 19:40:40
Cheers ed. Let’s hope it does him the world of good. Have a nice evening.

Agree1 Disagree0

29 Jul 2018 19:55:39
Good luck to the lad, personally I think he'll shine there, fingers crossed! good to hear that he's going out on loan though because he'd of been doing bugger all at Liverpool this season. If he cracks on and does well at Villa it'll be interesting, same goes for Wilson.

The season of 19/ 20 could be very interesting for them two lads making their breakthrough to our first team, we can only hope.

Agree2 Disagree1

29 Jul 2018 20:17:04
If he's going to Villa, I think it's not just a great loan for him, but for them also. They need someone to push them up a level, and I wouldn't put it past the lad to provide that for them. I think he's the one exception to needing a premier league loan. Villa is potentially the ideal loan.

Agree2 Disagree0

29 Jul 2018 21:18:03
Up against it?
Villa have a budget that far exceeds that of most Championship clubs, including Cardiff. They shouod be one of the high flying ckubs playing well.
Is he Grealish's replacement possibly.

Ben Woodburn on loan to Villa.

Believable13 Unbelievable0

29 Jul 2018 17:10:10
Good move, maybe he'll start being recignised as the top talent he is when people see him playing week in week out in a good competitive league.

29 Jul 2018 18:26:46
His cross for Shaqiri was sublime and his awareness was excellent. I like Woodburn a lot quality player.

Agree6 Disagree0

30 Jul 2018 14:54:50
Id love to see him playing more regularly and getting a chance to establish himself.
He has shown the ability to do something out of the ordinary but he won't get many chances to show that this season again unless he moves down a level.
Seems like the perfect move for me.

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Jul 2018 21:08:56
I like Woodburn a lot too, but I just don’t see him making the grade at us I’d love to b proved wrong.

After watching Fabinho I know for sure he will not be effective in our midfield I thibk he is way too slow .

Yes he reminds me of matic who is also slow but he's always been effective

But for this Liverpool team I thibk a kante style player would have been better.

Believable5 Unbelievable125

29 Jul 2018 01:06:32
That’s that then, he may as well start looking for a move away. RedRebel1 has spoken.

Agree74 Disagree1

29 Jul 2018 01:44:08
He's deceptively quick. He's looks super slow but is a lot faster.

There aren't many cms who are quick and will always look like mugs with fast attackers running at them.

Kante is pretty much an exception. even then though he gets made to look stupid now and then.

Fabinho 90% of the game is a good passer, tackled, crosser. Gets involved in all aspects of the game. But now and again he will have his pace exposed but learning how to. match it with good positioning can only get better training with Salah, mane and shaqiri.

Remember modric and kross combined have won everything football has to offer and neither is blessed with exteodinary pace.

Agree36 Disagree1

29 Jul 2018 01:46:05
You are a buffoon. This may or may not turn out to be the case but to call it after a handful of preseason games is ridiculous.

Agree43 Disagree2

29 Jul 2018 02:23:06
Watch the 1st half again properly. You will see he won almost every 2nd ball or loose ball and recycled it well. Also made several good tackles and won a lot of headers taking the pressure of the back 4. Some fans expect every player on the pitch to be like Mbappe messi salah etc. Without the matic fabinho kante type players those star players wouldn't get same freedom to show off attacking talent open you're eye's watch the whole game not just flashy bits and goalscorers. a lot more to it than that!

The strangest rumour this Summer, redrebel1, Fabs will be a star for Liverpool can play the 2, 6 and 8 position. From what I heard is that he has put too much effort to impress and that has caused his not to be as so fresh in games. Normally you would to give a player at least 6 months to make his mark - would love an apology at Christmas from you.

29 Jul 2018 09:32:10
You can see every time vvd stepped out he slotted into the back four, he also plugged the gap between the art king midfield we had, and the defence. The tactical aspect of his hand will be huge for us. He may not be a suited to all games, but when we have a lot of the ball he will do more to stop counters than most!

Agree5 Disagree0

29 Jul 2018 09:48:20
The OP is entitled to his opinion. I think it will take Fabinho time to adjust and don't see him starting many premier league games at the beginning of the season. Hopefully we will see the best of him around December a bit like what happened to Robertson and Ox.

Henderson, Keita, Shak will be first choice.

Up the pool.

Agree8 Disagree1

29 Jul 2018 11:19:28
The OP is a nob, he has based his entire opinion of the player on a few friendlies for us, it's a joke. How about giving players an honest chance before writing them off?

Agree9 Disagree3

29 Jul 2018 11:25:40
I think he’s looked very composed on the ball since joining and done well dictating the play from deep. I think he’s made some excellent tackles and broken up play strategically where required too. Yes he’s been beaten maybe a couple of times but who hasn’t, particularly given its warm up games and he’s still getting to know his team mates.

I think he’s going to be very very good addition to our team over the course of a season.

Agree6 Disagree0

29 Jul 2018 11:46:47
Look a Ed01's review about Fabinho. If I remember correctly he spoke about his speed. That he is deceptively fast and glides along the ground or words to that effect.

29 Jul 2018 13:23:05
year 2005: After watching Alonso I know for sure he will not be effective in our midfield I thibk he is way too slow .

Yes he reminds me of pirlo who is also slow but he's always been effective

But for this Liverpool team I thibk a makelele style player would have been better.

Note: My opinion is that Alonso was part of the last great midfield we had in recent time. oh and yes, he was really slow.

Obviously the OP is entitled to his opinion. He can’t help that his opinion is wrong.

Agree7 Disagree1

29 Jul 2018 14:19:12
He’s trolling folks, and doing a fine job of it too. And if you aren’t mate, well, um, that’s certainly an interesting take on a friendly. Perhaps don’t start the post with knowing “for sure” that a player is going to fail. It’s an opinion after all and all are welcome.

Fabinho is going to be an inspired and much-needed signing. It's a position we've been crying out for since Mascherano/ Alonso. How can anyone judge the lad on pre-season?
Let's talk in twelve months.

Er I am guessing Red Rebel is a Man United fan looking for a bite and achieved it!

Agree4 Disagree0

29 Jul 2018 14:26:03
a football brain moves faster than legs, looks like he reads the game very well from what I have seen of him. And at last we have a proper defensive midfielder to protect are back four so we won't need to score 3 and 4 goals to win games as much. restricted utd to 3 shots all game what do you want from players after a few preseason games. YNWA.

Agree1 Disagree0

29 Jul 2018 14:25:41
Redrebel has arranged an Anti Fabinho protest called “He Ain’t Fab. ” to be held at Anfield at 4pm if anyone is interested. Free tea and coffee to all wearing a shirt that has a players name on the back (as long as it’s not Fabinho) . Free ice lollies for kids (No fabs) .

See you there.

29 Jul 2018 15:14:34
His job is to protect the back 4. intercept. Break up play. Set off attacks with long balls. Keita job is to collect short and inject the pace. It not something we are short of. How quick was mascherano he was amazing alongside gerrard. alonso.

29 Jul 2018 17:15:14
Redrebel would like a step by step guide in changing usernames. Heads up, I think he said his new username might be Redfaced.

Agree1 Disagree0

29 Jul 2018 18:24:37
He’s literally just joined lad, judging his complete club inpact over a couple of preseason games is ludicrous, he’s just come from a completely different league, he 100% has ALL of the attributes needed to be an absolute legend for us once he’s settled and in sync with our style of play, come on redrebel1 stop being so ridiculously unrealistic and give the lad a chance, I genuinely hope you happily eat your own words on this one lad, let’s get some positivity flowing and back ALL of our squad to move forward and have a boss season. He’s going to be awesome for us once he’s settled, believe it.

DM's have traditionally not been fast at all. The requirements of the position are tactical awareness, positional awareness, clean tackling technique and passing vision (to feed counterattacks after regaining possession) . From what I saw in two games, he seems to have it and just needs time to refine and shape his style to the way the team plays. Give him a month of regular training and games with the first team, and all doubts will be removed. He's already being touted as being next in line to replace Fernandinho in the national Brazil team. (I'm now wondering if anybody has ever seen 200 thumbs down for a post. I think we've had that some time ago) .

I doubt it now that we have Shaqiri in. Maybe if we sold Mane but i can't see it happening.

Agree4 Disagree1

29 Jul 2018 02:10:06
Makes sense if Klopp sees Shaqiri's future lying in the No.10 position he played today.

Agree3 Disagree1

29 Jul 2018 05:05:25
I would have thought signing Shaqiri would have put an end to that, in the same way it lessened any opportunity for Wilson this coming season.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jul 2018 07:05:41
Well if Shaquiri is going to play the ten then there is still room for a back up winger in the team, especially with Wilson on loan and Ojo looking surplus. I would be happy with that.

Agree2 Disagree1

29 Jul 2018 09:33:57
Shaqiri didn’t play ten, he just drifted in - he and Ono were wide.

Yes, markp08, everyone is entitled to an opinion. The filtering question of 'Am I entitled to voice this opinion? ' is at the heart of the modern digital malaise. 'Have I done enough research? Have I looked at all the data? Discussed it with someone I trust? Will this be likely to do more harm than good? ' are all questions that are increasingly rarely asked. Even the more basic 'Is this likely to make me look like a tit? ' can be useful sometimes.

Shaquiri did not play out wide he played centrally and drifted out left at times. Klopp trying a different position for him.
