who u think might be manager ed {Ed005's Note - If I was a betting man I would say Rodgers will be manager.}

Rodgers must be yes man that will work under a dof martinez obviously wants full control i would rather martinez what if the dof wants to sign a player and rodgers doesn't rodgers just wont play him he should be given full control if he gets the job you live and die by your own decision i dont see how a manager can work with a dof personally -THE POPE

I think it's Martinez but I've heard that FSG are running out of options and are now in a state of scratching their heads.
They want a coach rather than a manager. They don't want someone who will have to much power regarding transfers.
They thought it would be an easy job to fill but have discovered it is not.
Lack of interest has stunned FSG.

Pretty much every American sport works this way (with a DoF or General Manager working to acquire players) and very rarely does it ever create a problem. Most if not all coaches are involved in personnel decisions across all of the four major US sports, it's just not the coach's primary responsibility to actually go out and acquire the player after they've said "Yeah I like the look of him."

Think it my be van gaal instead of him being dof

Like it or not, it is an easy job to fill. Rafa is desperate for it! ;-)

Why would they have assumed that the job would have been easy to fill? All of the big names are currently working on other "projects" or waiting for the right one (i.e.an easy one where they have lots of money to spend).

To the second poster.. Have you ever heard of a full stop?

Sam Adzii JFT96

In this structure, it means LVG is the person managing the team not Rodgers. So Rodgers is like a 1st team coach.

That lack of interest comes from the Mickey Mouse way they're trying to do things.

Eds, I posted before saying 'why you guys think the manager is going to be Klopp' and you said something like 'we never said he would be' I wasn't aiming it at you, but the people who post rumours saying he will be.

1 more quick question though, what is the Suarez deal to Juventus looking like?

Cheers,

YNWA FOREVER {Ed005's Note - What Suarez deal to Juventus?}

Juve will have a harder time pulling payers than LFC this summer that for sure

Would just like to say after seeing a few rumours about Christian Rodriquez from Porto has gone to athletico Madrid! So no chance of joining up with international team mate Luiz Suarez ! Also heard theirs going to be a manager in place by the end off week so he can look at squad and see what improvements need to be made and to chose a squad for the tour of America! Owners willing to give money to manager if he feels need to sign players that will have a chance of making improvement even if overpriced they will try! Dof may not be put in place if a big name manager gets job! Few still in frame but they no who they won't! Andy Carroll is in all plans for future! No one needs to be sold if msnager doesn't want them to go! Finally owners want top 4 finish in the expectations which is why its taking longer than it should and it's not nogatiable ! Cheers for your time!!

Big Brown

I agree with the part about Andy Carroll. I can't see why anyone would want to sell him after his run at the end of the season and the fact that he's going to get excellent experience this summer playing. He looks a completely different player. Not only is he playing better but he looks more mature and is starting to develop into a leader on the pitch.

AmRed {Ed016's Note - All he needed was the push from the fans and it took all season. Mind you its not easy to gain respect of the Anfield faithful. He did well in the end}

Fair estmitation of things to come.

Luis Suarez has reiterated his desire to remain in the Premier League and has opened talks with the club for a contract extension. Suarez is currently paid €3 million (£2.4m) per year but that would rise to €4.8m (£3.85m) under the terms of a new deal that would tie him to the club until 2016.

He gets £80,000 per week = £320,000 per month = £3,840,000 per year

so is he going to take a pay cut?

80,000 a week = 346,666 a month = 4,160,000 a year..... just thought i would correct you !

If he was to sign a deal it would be for somewhere in the region of 6m a year which works out to £115k that would be a more accurate figure. V. Thanks am here all week

He also signed in jan 2011 on a 5.5 year contract as did Carroll, so he is going to extend a contract that expires june 2016, to still expire June 2016?!

I assumed the inaccuracy was due to it being what he'd actually receive after tax

Hi Eds,

a quick point about a couple of rumours -

Ryad Boudebouz had himself claimed interest from us. rumours were heavy about a bid being accepted for Jackson Martinez.

the LFC Technology Team have uploaded videos of these two players to accompany the 'rumour' about them. of all the stories from the media, these two players are the only two who the Technology Team have uploaded video's of. Remembering the Johnson signing web fudgeup, i believe the showreel videos to be a badly thought through way of promoting the two players before their signings are announced.

Lfc have also recently uploaded a similar video of milos krasic from juve ??

You mean Downing the dustman, not Johnson, though 'Arry may have got his dog to do something dodgy with a DVD burner also.

There's also a video of Milo Krasic

Iv seen Ryad Boudebouz and I thought Eden Hazard was a 10, Downing a 7 and Ryad Boudebouz is a 6.

He is two footed, Plays right wing and is bit better than Jordan Henderson in terms of pace. But he isn't close to the finish article. With what is available it is a ok signing for the future. Will need alot of work and auto start in the side where he won't be up to the it. or loan him back out for a season.

martin Petrov bolton might be a better signing than him.

Where is the video?

The video's are on the LFC news page of the official website. if there's one for Krasic as well, then maybe its the same thing - he has been linked for a number of transfer windows now.

to the chap who said about Downing - not sure where that came from? When I said 'Johnson', I meant Glen Johnson. back in the days of transfer-rumours.co.uk (or something similar), the glen johnson signing was announced as the Technology Team accidently uploaded his name and number onto the team page and shirt personalisation in the shop page the day before the website 'officially' announced the signing.

that is what i meant by 'the Johnson signing fudgeup.'

the new videos may be just part of the upcoming changes the Technology Team have announced for the website, but i found it odd that the team would make the effort to source a video for a couple, but not all, of the players linked with us mentioned on the LFC website.

cheers,

Sanchez 33 (the OP)

Hope we sign that jackson martinez - looks absolutely class! alright, most of the defenders and goalies in the vids are donkeys, but you can tell he's got real technique and strength

Brendan Rogers has NOT been approached by Liverpool.

Brendan Rogers does NOT want the job.
He doesn't believe he's ready for a big club.
His family are settled in south Wales.

So there you have it.

Good to know he knows his limitations

Fingers crossed that's true.

As good as managers that he and Martinez may be, not what LFC need right now.

Swansea fan per chance? Stick to your own site....

Who are you shela rodgers

How do you know? cause the press and even us the supporters don't know.

Did he tell you that?

Says who? You Mr no name, have no clue.

Papa G

Hope he is not klopp is better we gone bad cant even find a good manager

Please can you therefore tell us all what Liverpool "need" right now? Let me guess? Guardiola or Mourinho? Yet another example of the fantasy football generation

More convincing (rather than the caps) was if you knew how to spell his name.

Eds can you please clarify is rodgers is he on the short list? I find it rather strange how a person can be on a short list when they havent got through the first interviews, bizzare or what! Thanks!! {Ed005's Note - First interviews? I don't think each candidate requires to have 5 or 6 interviews then wait. I think Rodgers is now the number one candidate therefore they will aim to hold talks and get everything sorted as soon as they can.}

Nobody is settled in South Wales !

SMOKE SCREEN, liverpool trying to unrest another manager, while they get desperate . Sacking Kenny for no reason seemed stupid.

Brendan Rogers will not be Liverpool manager. This comes from Swansea themselves.
No permission has been given and no interest has been shown.
I don't care if you believe me or not but I thought Id give you the information I know.
As for this Gauriola or Mourinho talk ( rediculaus post by the way), yes I love either (especially Mourinho) but that won't happen either.
I gave you solid information and get slated for it. Guess I won't be getting an appollogy from these dumbwits when the position gets filled by someone else.

Eds..

1) have Liverpool Made an approach for Brendan Rodgers?

2) have Swansea gave permission?

3) did Brendan Rodgers distance himself already ( around 18th may)

4) is Brendan Rodgers still contracted with Swansea?

Can you answer Ed? {Ed005's Note - All I can say is it looks like BR will be our new manager.}

Approaching rodgers appears such a desperate measure!! FSG appear such jokers! The whole selection process has been a farce. FSG had apparently a list of 12 candidates that had to be whittled down to afew for the short list how can rodgers suddenly get through the original selection process. If rodgers is the best they can come up with in afew weeks! It beggars believe if fsg seriously believe that he is the man to get us into the champions league. So what are they planning to do if at the end of the season we dont make the top 4, are they planning to sack rodgers? pay out even more compensation and get someone else. If rumours are to be believed rodgers has 5m buyout contract, if rumours are to be believed then that king kennys pay off it tallies up to 13m. What a damn waste!! We need stability from someone experienced. Not some novice!! {Ed016's Note - Who said Rogers has been approached? the only official source being Swansea FC who came out and said that Rogers had not been approached by Liverpool so Rogers has not been approached by Liverpool. It was a slow day for the media and they made it up}

Your very unclear Ed

Have Liverpool made an approach for Rodgers? {Ed016's Note - Not that I know of}

Think ppl shud stop slating the potential managers all managers start somewhere and if our football had been better than theirs last season I could of understood we finished about 9points above wigan but like usuall we should look to the. Past were not an automatic top 4 team any more time for a fresh approach! YNWA

Why are we targeting these One Hit Wonders like Martinez and Rodgers?!?. AVB is the man as he knows European success. I am grateful that Dalglish isn't here for the next season as he is unaware of the happenings in Europa League hence our adventure in Europe might be over b4 it even began!!....

He didn't say all those. The club did say he's happy but that doesn't mean he can't go.

AVB is a one hit wonder at porto great season mind but still could be a flash in the pan what had shanks achieved before he became liverpool boss?

Big Club?? Ha Ha!!
We already have a manager!!

alan waddle

alan waddle

Oh Alan......I've only seen 2 of your posts and already I'm a fan! At least you don't pretend to know anything about football you just make jokes! Paddy Power must be glad to have you as their football expert!!

Like Carroll would EVER EVER go to Sunderland!

Carroll isnt going anywhere

What a miss Villas Boas' first signing would have been David Villa.. all the namesakes!

Ohhh Alan, put the red bull down it doesn't agree with you!

Seriously expect anyone to believe Carroll would ever pull on a Maccam shirt?? Fail.

FatJanMolby

Alan Twaddle

What a complete day dreamer. Carroll will be going nowhere soon

Carroll to Sunderland - Really, worse rumour ever!

Complete joker, toffee or Man Utd fan obviously

Thatll be the day.

I hope you aren't being serious? Carroll to Sunderland? Sort it out lad.

Carroll for sessengon, are you mad, that would be the worse deal in premier league history. Carroll is just coming into his own as a player next season he'll be a 20 goal man

WOW.... Andy Carroll to Sunderland, are you being serious?

Too much sun I think !

Absolite Twaddle! Lol

Oh Alan Waddle what will u change ur name to tomorrow or next week when nothing u post comes true, maybe when u become a teenager u'll know a bit more about football

Irish Red 4256

Jackson Martinez is on the brink of signing with mexican team Monterrey, reports in mexico say its a done deal

What a load of bullshine!
waddle on Alan Waddle

Apparently Brendan Rodgers house is for sale ( from my mates mother who's an estate agent) Killay area of swansea

Bs mate I pass his house on the way to work every day.

He could be going to villa

So is my neighbour, na couldnt be him though

Yer you must be right. they ask him to be manager 1 day. next day house for sale. get a grip.

I don't think u do mate as its a dead end. Name the street then?

How much?

He lives down the grower

Go on then tell me what road he lives off?

A football manager putting his house up for sale is totally unheard of. Must be true.

Looks like I was right after all!

Yeah ur right. See how many nailed u down. Disgusting.

Arvin

29 May 2012 19:32:13
Martinez and Rodgers are just a smoke screen, as are the other candidates.

Pep is on his way to Anfield and will have full control.

Expect big signings.

turky

If only this were true!

Dream on brother,Rodgers is our man

Too many turkeys me thinks.

Mighty reds

Wishful thinking

I wouldn't trust Guardiola with full control of any club. He's a coach that has no experience of running any other club than the one he started at as a teenager and even then he was a coach not a full control manager. He really is the riskiest of any of the potential candidates.

I assume your taking the p1ss. It will be a young manager who has over-acheived on a limited budget, as befits the moneyball strategy. It will be between rodgers and martinez. There will be no massive outlay on fancy players but investment will be made on good young talent. Progess wont be instant, its an organic process and we could be waiting a few years to see a dividend. There is no knight in shining armour on horseback, we are dealing with reality here. Pep will take the Chelsea job.

You mean we might be signing messi, xavi, puyol, sanchez , fabregas? holy s**t !!!!

Not more smokescreens. There must be more of them in Liverpool than anywhere else. Better get out the inhaler

Turky by name.......

I wish .

Here we go with the smoke screens again, its a rumours site not sailsbury plain

It could be part right maybe martinez and rogers are a decoy and a high profile manager could be on his way in .... Maybe

Haha, you liitle joker.

Your an even bigger clown than Alan Twaddle...

Guardiola is entirely plausible.

Check out the Boston Red Sox to see how FSG do things.

They are prepared to do what it takes to get the people they want.

I don't think anyone other than owners, Ayres, and their football advisors knows what is going on {Ed016's Note - But Pep is taking a long break from football. Believe the man when he says this. }

This is not baseball, nor is it the US...

To Ed16 did you not see his interview last week where he said he could manage another club this season if they 'seduce' him? {Ed016's Note - We'll see, after doing a bit more digging I am a bit stumped on the issue. It really could be either men. Rogers or Martinez. I guess we will just have to wait and see, the owners may even interview more people.}

Delusional turkey.

I think you spell your name wrong , with that post it should be TURKEY.

martinez manager . brendan rodgers director of football. get down to paddy power.

alan waddle

Not a chance - might as well have two managers! Neither of them are experienced enough to be the sporting director. It'll be an old head for SD, with a younger "head coach" role.

Yeah, two managers of two very poor teams, who havenever won anything between them and just about avoided relegation as well... these are the men to take liverpool to the top of the league again, yeah right! what a joke it is that they are even being spoken in the same sentence a our great club. The answer to our manager position is glaringly obvious. We need a PROVEN winner, euro reputation and lfc blood in his veins and heart. That man is Rafa Benitez... end of.

!! Me thinks Alan Waddle must work for paddy power as he obviously knows nothing about football!! You probably think penalty is pronounced "pelanty" like your brother Chris!!

, Brendan Rodgers as DoF? Get down to Paddy Power and waste your money!

I would bet it could be the other way around ?

Alan Waddle to be sectioned get down to Paddy Power

RIP Liverpool football club, its the end of an Era

Some of the things people believe on here is ridiculous, never heard so much crap as this!

Remember that FSG appointed a 28 yr old economics guy with no baseball experience as the general manager of the Red Sox. He did well so don't doubt FSG. I could see Martinez as DOF and Rodgers as manager.

Alan , you are getting beyond a joke now mate.

I've read some gems on this site over the years but that might just be the pick of the bunch....

Uttter shi&e....!!

I think ur missing a T off ur surname Alan!
ItsNotRocketScience

Both guys never won anything. So as Shankly when he came to LFC. I am not comparing these guys with LFC. You never know who will do until they get the chance. Goal machine Rush or best ever Dalglish didn't play for best Int'l team in the world. They had talent, which they established in LFC. No internet to criticize them on those days when they signed. Any manager is a gamble. Potential is there , we going for potential instead of proven that's the only diff.

F***in hope not

Epstein worked under somebody for 6 years at the red sox before he got that role and did a similar role for San Diego Padres before that. So to say he had no experience is wrong.

Cheers

martinez flew into manchester airport this afternoon cutting his holiday short . owners fly into this country today . announcement to follow . i think its press conference at anfield thursday which is the day dw wants a decision . cant understand why fsg want a dof after sacking commoli looks like its going to be a new manager and dof every year . martinez ideal man .

alan waddle

Martinez ideal man based on what?

Dave whelan is the success behind wigan not martinez. Would rather swap whelan for FSG and then we'll have a chairman who understands what a football club is all about

Relegation Battle!

Why would FSG bend over backwards just because Dave Whelan has stated he wants a decision by Thursday? He's been drip feeding the media rubbish in order to increase publicity and attraction to Martinez and Wigan, and even publicly criticising LFC and the owners

Do you actually watch the news? Martinez arrived back this morning, as it was on Sky Sports News. Liverpool are holding their press conference on Friday. This is a rumour site - not fairy stories...

29 May 2012 18:48:47
Sorry lads but I hear United will tie up the Powell deal once the Kagawa deal is sewn up. Nick wants the United move and Crewe are happy to sell as long as he can be loaned back for the rest of the season.

Hey eds , do we still stand a chance of signing him?...RED INDIAN {Ed022's Note - No not really.}

How long have you been asleep.the season is finished

29 May 2012 18:45:40
Hi Eds, Ed016 says we will be happier when we see the big picture, long shot I know but any possibility Rodgers(good young coach with potential) as manager and Rafa as DOF. {Ed022's Note - No.}

Wonder what is the odds that Kenny's name is part of the big picture. This would make people happier I guess

29 May 2012 18:44:18
LFC Press Conference scheduled for Friday afternoon, believed to be to formally introduce Warrior Sports as our new kit sponsors. Alongside that, our new Sporting Director Louis Van Gaal will be unveiled alongside our new manager, who will be Brendan Rodgers.

Really? How do you know?

I wish this was true. I can only cross my fingers

Believe Brendan Rodgers but not Van Gaal

I doubt the new kit sponsors would want their press conference to coincide with an announcement about the new manager do you? If i was paying Millions i would want know distractions.

Spot on, all these events would not happen at one press conference. rubbish.

Got that from Koptalk did we?

You're kidding right - think of all the press for that event , PR man's dream coverage for Warrior brand .

Thanks Mr. Henry, that it very nice of you to let us know before hand. you simple the best, now tell how much money you gonna give Mr. Rodgers and who we gonna buy.

Finesse - Seychelles

29 May 2012 18:42:38
UTV in Northern Ireland reporting on that Brendan Rodgers is in pole to become the new manager. Also saying that an announcement from LFC is expected on friday. Dunno whether its true or not cuz they don't usually cover this sort of stuff.

How do they not cover this stuff they own Talksport!

29 May 2012 18:40:14
New manager will be Brendan rogers. Prob announced on fri to coinside with the new kit launch with warrior logos at press conference etc

Thanks

Mate put me on this yesterday so thought I'd share a rumour I heard..on me way back from the Stoke FA Cup match at Anfield couple months ago, got chattin to a black cabby (*sigh, here we go again I know!) who worked at Man City with the U14's or U12's as a coach. Anyway apparently, we placed a bid in January for Adam Johnson which got rejected for whatever reason(s). However, this fella said he brefly spoke with Adam who said he couldn't really say anything about it, but that he really likes Liverpool and the fans..guy suggested he was hinting for a possible summer move. Again, pure speculation but thats exactly what this fella told me. Defo a player we should be lookin at. {Ed022's Note - I'm pretty sure his race isn't important.}

ED022 - I' pretty sure that was a joke on your part as poster surely meant driver of a black cab

Puzzled {Ed022's Note - I thought he was actually talking to a black taxi... oh well.}

Ed022, was that a joke about race? Cos I reckon the original poster was talking about a driver of Black Cabs! {Ed022's Note - You'll understand it eventually.}

Nice one Ed022 but got a feeling this one is gonna go wayyyy over most heads :)
Bobby {Ed022's Note - Yep, pretty much.}

Very quick & very funny Ed022, but I'm sure your wit was lost on most. {Ed022's Note - Alas, I venture on nonetheless.}

I think hes describin the cab (car) not the person drivin it?? those cabs are black, and they do cost a lot more.
suppose it doesnt matter either way though!

He never suggested his race was important. Black cab would be a hackney.
Howcouldheplay {Ed022's Note - Sigh.}

Confused.....think he meant he drives a black cab !

Not sure if Ed 022 is in on the joke {Ed022's Note - I should really stop using wit, it confuses too many people.}

Now this is true because the (black hackney cabby) he's talking about is called 'Mark' and he does infact work with city's youth set up.

Black cabby a hackney cab mate
Fowlerisgod {Ed022's Note - Sigh.}

I assumed it was the cab that was black :-)

Funniest reply to a post ever ed 022 you are now my new favourite ed! The wit has been completely lost in translation, well done.

love it {Ed022's Note - Thank you.}

The beauty of not knowing someone personally when you read their post is you never really know what they mean. I get in trouble too much on facebook that way. There are too many stupid people out there to be totally sure :o) Tim

I hope we steer clear of Adam Johnson. LFC needs warriors, not shirkers only in it for the money.

I'll be honest the guy didn't sound like he was chatting ****. Mentioned some youth players at the time and he knew his stuff. an ed ha ha ha ha ha!!

Theres a lot of fools on here if you didnt get that was a joke.
phil

Why does anyone who drives a back cab know everything?

Hi eds, great site
I'm a first time poster but regular reader. Not sure how reliable this is but thought I would share. I just started dating a family member of a big name within Liverpool. The rumour I got is that Jh wants to sign a big name star from Europe. Don't know who sorry. But anything worthwhile I get I will post. Keep up the great work
Cheers
Red Steve {Ed022's Note - Thanks mate.}

I hope u mean a big name board member ( which must be Ian Ayre cause no other board member is a big name) cuz I doubt any player has a daughter old enough for you to date Red Steve

Irish Red 4256

Great post mate!! Macca needs to be looking over his shoulder as I think he may well have a rival for his position. Eds can you please get Red Steve his own page as I think you may well be inundated with requests for info.

Elmo 96

Actually it's someone's sister. But like I said don't know how reliable the info. Just passing on what I heard. Also there is already a red steve posting on here so from now on I will sign Steve of the dammed
Cheers

Steve of the dammed

Thboy from holland has a big long name

Clearly the owners would like a big named star every club would.but simple fact it wont happen as long as we dont have CL football.we couldnt afford it without the money from the CL and a top top player wouldnt leave CL football for jus scrapping to get in the top 5-8 positions.and i cant see that changing anytime soon.sad time to be a red im afraid
TRUE RED {Ed016's Note - Who would have thought we could have brought Suarez in.....buck up and cheer up. You don't know whats coming this transfer window no on does so how can you already judge it?}

29 May 2012 16:49:18
what about alan dzagoev eds is he available on a free this summer?
Quality young player and i reckon hes gonna light up the euros this summer {Ed001's Note - his contract expires on 31st December.}

Would that make him cheap this summer?

It would enable a pre-contract agreement I believe if we were so inclined to offer him one.

Rumours so far today:
- Martinez back in england to talk to owners on phone (sky sports)
- Rodgers has meeting with swansea owner (sky sports)
- No approach for rodgers (sky sports)
- Rodgers will be appointed manager (talksport)
- rodgers did not talk about lfc in meeting (swansea)

Its all really confusing and I hope it is sorted soon. There could be more twists tonight no one knows. As much as I think DOF is not a neccesity with an experienced and big manager with either rodgers and martinez we need someone like van gaal to help them and attract names.

scooter

Add to that manager will be announced on friday from espn
Scooter

Spot on post mate.

The problem is sky sports don't have a clue and Talksport use sky sports as its main source of information (followed closely by t**tter).
It'll probably end up being Van Gaal

Chris in Tamworth {Ed022's Note - I'm pretty sure Sky and TalkSport are roughly run by the same people mate.}

And mike basset will be named the liverpool manager

Ed0022, Talksport is owned by UTVRADIO (ulster television) I don't think they have any connection to Sky

Chris in Tamworth {Ed022's Note - I thought they had some connections higher up the chain? Also, many of the individuals who work for TalkSh*te also work for Sky.}

Very good post, all in all it comes down to the very basic fact that when nobody has any news, they make it up!

29 May 2012 16:09:37
only candidate left is Roberto Martinez

Martinez no way we dont want him liverpool is not wigan if this guy come to liverpool i will never suport liverpool again

Let's hope he does sign then because we don't need your type of "support".

29 May 2012 16:07:46
is saying liverpool and reading are after milos krasic with liverpool keen on a loan deal. any truth in it ed?

True Red {Ed005's Note - When Dalglish was manager there was. Now, not so sure.}

29 May 2012 15:52:46
Reports are surfacing that the search for a manager is over!

Yep its alex mcliesh

Don't be shy, give us a clue

Stopped looking and reverting to the blindingly obvious best candidate Benitez

Wrong. One Report has surfaced and it's from a self-proclaimed journo on twitter who doesn't work for any news publication or website as far as I am aware. Might aswell have asked me!

Where are these reports surfacing from?

''obvious best candidate Benitez'' LOL

MR EM

Its guna b gary neville, lol

It looks most certain to be BR.

Eds, regarding Nick Powell, obviously we've scouted him but do you see it possible of us getting him? Without a manager and dof and the delay in appointing anyone, do you expect we will miss out? I've seen him linked with man utd, have they bid? Had any contact? {Ed001's Note - I don't expect him to move this summer personally, Crewe are likely to lose Leitch-Smith (who is out of contract) and have the money from the play off win and promotion. I think they will look to keep him and I expect him to see another season of first team football as the best thing for his career.}

Hope we get Powell

Any chance of krasic and J.martinez? Also is the story that diame was close to joining lfc but the deal collapsed because dalglish was sacked true?

Wouldn't want eiether of them

Who should bye them? The DOF or our manager?

From a very reliable source, Liverpool could be on the verge of a shock double swoop for Atletico Madrid pair Diego Godin and Cristian Rodriguez! Both of course are Uruguayan internationals and close friends of Luiz Suarez. Godin will of course put fight for a place between Agger and Skrtel whilst Rodriguez would help fill the void still left by Xabi Alonso. Both at the age of 26 these could be shrewd buys, but who is doing the deal with no manager in place? A combined fee of around £18m is what the pair will cost.

Christian rodriguez just signed for athletico from porto

Cristian rodriquez played for porto.he has just signed with athletico

Has rodriguez, not just joined atheltico from Porto? or am i mistaken?

Rodriguez has only just signed for Atletico so i dont think thats gonna happen

That is plain BS coz Christian Rodriguez JUST SIGNED a contract with athletico.
RED INDIAN.

Is that the same rodriguez they have only just signed...stupid rumour

Shut up mate... Rodriguez has just signed for them today

How many non-EC players are we allowed?

That would be really stupid we have no manager

Cristian Rodriguez is not like Xabi Alonso in playing style, Rodriguez is much more of an attacking player. Think of a young Tim Cahill, now imagine he was skilful. :)

Xabi Alonso isn't scoring no over head kick, he'll just kick it from the half way line and score and be done with it. :) Rodriguez has scored a few over head kicks, which is why i make mention of it.

Diego Godin is rough, tough and very good at the back. At this rate, we might as well ask the Uruguayan manager if he wants the job, no wait, it was a joke... Too late. Sorry Ed's.

Personally i think FSG should try and do what it takes to sign Edison Cavani and Gaston Ramirez. Get Claudio Caggnia (spelling) to hook them both on a line.

Surely Suarez and Cavani are the logical pairing as it works. If it's impossible then it's not possible so be it, but at least have a decent go and luring the best players to one of the best teams, that has become somewhat of a sleeping giant in one of the very best leagues there are.

Seeing as cristian rodriguez only just signed for atletico i call BS.

The same Christian Rodriguez who has signed for Athletico Madrid?

Richards

Christian rodriguez only just moved to athletico, like a few days ago...... sounds like your 'very reliable source' is wrong

Cristian Rodriguez only signed for Athletico yesterday...

Cristian Rodriguez played for Porto last season and has only just signed for Atlético Madrid on a free.

I'm sure we were linked to James Rodriguez of Porto at some point who in my opinion is a better player.

XO21

The rodriguez who only recently signed on a free and is a winger not an alonso?

Cristian Rodriguez signed fo atletico today.28/5/12.
when is he signing for the pool,tommorow?
tell your "source" hes an idiot.

Atletico Madrid have signed Uruguay forward Cristian Rodriguez from FC Porto on a four-year deal.
From BBC

Rodriguez just signes and hes a winger so how would he replace alonso

Really hope this isn't true

Hi Eds,
I did post 2 weeks ago that Shay Given was to be approached as replacement for Reina but got shot down from some clown claiming to be Givens cousin, well both Reina and Doni are to return to their respective countries this summer and Given is the man that will between the LFC posts next season!

Ill shoot you down this time then, reina wont be leaving, and given wont be joining

That's a given then?

If Reina left shay Given would be a good choice to replace him. But i can't see him leaving. Up the pool

Reina will be laeving!

Pepe reina will not be leaving...

Cheers

PEPE REINA's Cousin....

Mate im irish and shay is a great goalkeeper but he gets a lot of injuries particularly to his shoulders only for this it will never happen

I personally feel Given has been lucky in his career, he's not been good since his earlier Newcastle days, he's great at the shot stopping, but he ain't no cat and cannot command his defenders.

He's one of footballs nice guys and he's far far better than i could ever have been, but as an ex-keeper my opinion which isn't worth much, is that he's weak in too many area's.

Reina was mainly unfocused at corners when he arrived, but unlike David James he worked a system that benefited the team for quite a while.

Reina's downfall does seem to lay with Atchenberg (Spelling) rise as a Liverpool coach.

If Reina is too leave, then there are many good options about. An ex-Liverpool keeper at F.C Twente has been doing very well and Tottenham have him on their radar with big Brad getting on in years.

Vorm has impressed me a lot this season, along with big Ruddy, gutted for him that he broke his finger/s.

We do not need to run to Given, when young and better goal keepers are about.

I'm Reina's cousin and I am shooting down this rumour.
Load of rubbish that my cuz will be leaving LFC anytime soon

Can we have your name so when it happens we can congratulate you. cheers

Given would be great if Reina went but he isn't

Hi I am Pepe's dog toto, we love life in Liverpool and are not looking to move back to my owners homeland. My golden coat will not take the heat/sun either so I am one pleased dog. Plus I was once a circus dog and I know the clown who shot you down last time, he ask me to say woof (hi) on his behalf... Woof woof!

Toto

A lot of good posts pointed out there and i agree there are younger capeable keepers out there who wudn't be as injury prone but if Reina was to leave and I believe thats the case along with Doni then the last thing Liverpool need at this moment in time is an in-experienced keeper, thats just my thoughts I'm not pro-Given at all thanks for the comments lads just wanted some feedback cheers... and to all Reinas cousins... think the Circus has just left town without ye!

Who cares if reina leaves.hes been very poor the last 2 seasons.mayb get 10-12 mill for him and bring in someone younger and hungrier for the cause.if only he left for arsenal last season for 20 mill.wouldhave been a worse signing for arsenal than any of the 3 english players we signed

There has been intrest from Liverpool declaired by ryad boudebouz... Just wondering eds is he a relistic option for LFC... In the current situation, having no manager, would the deal be put forward to whom ever takes over? {Ed001's Note - he is a very realistic signing, the scouting department would put his name forward to whoever takes over, along with any other potential targets they have identified.}

Hes not going to fire you into the top 4 though if I was manager it would be Diame Munian Ramirez and Lukk de Jong

Would it be fair to say that despite composite scouting list being drafted, a new manager will have his own ideas on where the team needs to be strengthened? Therefore a whole new list may be required. Or will a new manager be told "this is who we have bought, it's up to you to work with them?" Thanks. {Ed022's Note - There will be transfers both in and out still. The targets will more than likely have changed though.}

29 May 2012 13:32:29
Mohamed Diamé says kenny wanted to sign him before he got sacked now the deal has collasped do you think if Martínez comes in would he try to sign him great free transfer.

Why would martinez sign someone that struggled to get in the wigan team?

Why would Martinez sign Diame for Liverpool? He isnt renewing the guys contract at Wigan! So why would he give him one at Liverpool? Or am i missing something about the player's situation?

Karl

Diame turned down a contract and he has been one of wigans better players! The only disadvantage of bringing him in would be that you are likely to lose hIm during the ACON

Maby cos martinez used to hav him at wigan
and he is a breast (in a good way) {Ed022's Note - Tehe.}

29 May 2012 13:15:09
Hi guys haven't commented for a while due to lack of information coming out of my source but he has told me this today!

Brendan Rogers will be named as manager by the end of the week with Steve Clarke staying on as assistant manager! At the same time the DOF will also be announced and Van Gaal is nailed on for this! Kevin Keen will definitely be sacked by end of June.

Rogers first signing will be Scott Sinclair as he only has a year remaining on his contract!

Also heard that the board are not happy by the way Dave Whelan has been shouting his mouth off and this is one of the reason Martinez will not be appointed!

PAULMONDO YNWA

Sounds crediable and I agree about Whelan shouting his mouth off, as previously said he is being fed by Martinez...Recipe for disaster as we dont need anymore bad press..
Brendan rodgers has been quiet and may be the one to take over, although as ive previously said I believe we need a big name at the club and if that means van gaal as dof then this could work.
If rodgers comes in then keen will stay as they worked together at reading, keep a close eye on Nas Bashir who was also with them at reading and is a very good coach with the kids (currently hayes manager)
Liverbird09

If rodgers gets the job we are officially a small club, cant believe he'll get the job, if we were gonna appoint an N Irish man Martin O neill would be the right choice.. {Ed001's Note - was that a typo then? Only you said right choice concerning MON, who is definitely not the right choice.}

I can't imagine FSG not appointing Martinez for the reason that Whelan is a loud mouth.

That, I am afraid to tell you, is made up, lies, bull****, however you want to put it.

Tristan

Martin O Never.....
Liverbird09

Brendan Rodgers is definitely not the right choice, he must be the only choice. Its just sad , small time, bigtime

I wouldn't let Martin O'Neill manage my Fifa 12 team.
SA

Guarantee that the guy and his source do not know anything about the situation inside anfield....unless he's pals with JH even then i doubt he'd tell you so you can run off and tell your girlfriends. Lets see if he comes back on Saturday for all the praise of knowing everything including the first signing Rogers will make well before the rest of us...congrats

Personally admire Rodgers for his excellent managerial skills, there's no doubt he is a class manager in the making. For everyone who doesn't know, he learnt his trade in Spain, mainly Valencia, that is where his possession football comes from. And you don't get invited to the Spanish national camp if you're not good.

But is he right for Liverpool? He plays under a system of two very active wingers, but we don't even have one. I guess if he came, Sterling would be used more often by Rodgers. What is your opinion on him Ed001?

STB {Ed001's Note - Sterling or Rodgers? Just kidding, I know you mean Rodgers. I do think he has a future at a big club, just not sure he is ready for the situation at Liverpool. We are a club in disarray, it is not an easy job for anyone, but especially one with little experience.}

I think brenden Rodgers will become a hugely respected manager and a good one of that. He's been at Chelsea in the bkground watching and learning and he did ok at reading and fabulous at Swansea. If he was appointed I woukdnt be disappointed. I would prefer him over Martinez. However a big name to attract big players is Wat we all want, like mourinho, who time and time again states his desire to return to the prem. And what bigger challenge could he get then to restore Liverpool to premierleague glory. Or pep guardiola....klopp, ect.. but if Rodgers is appointed he needs to be on a long term contract and we need to give him full power and full support ppl.

I think that FSG are a little too professional to `cut their noses off to spite their faces`
if they don`t want Martinez I believe it is `cos they don`t want him!Not `cos bigmouth has spilt the beans yet again.
I must remind you that he is the dear friend of ould rednose!Make of that what you will but give FSG a little more credit.

Just searched your previous posts, so far your success rate of zero is still in tact. Although this post is believable, I'm sure I could have come up with most of this from the latest rumours doing the rounds. Nice try mind you, also Scot Sinclair would be nice, I don't think he's all that, but he seems to score more Peno's that all of LFC...

Scott Sinclair is very, very average. We shouldn't waste the money on him when we have Sterling sitting in the reserves.

This post is kind of a fail when you spell brenden *rodgers wrong

^Brendan

But perhaps you did that on purpose?

Tqn

Concerning Rodgers lack of experience Mr. Ed001 - is that where Van Gaal would come in? Been there done that, a steadying influence sort of thing?

TSP {Ed016's Note - yep}

Just to correct Liverbird, Kevin Keen hasn't ever played or worked at Reading, let alone when Rodgers was there. He has only been a coach at West Ham, since '02, before joining us in 2011

29 May 2012 13:09:54
LFC are looking at 17 year old Max Clayton from Crewe, to join the academy.

Great.

We don't need Eden Hazard, Marko Marin or Lucas Podolski, we're targeting Max Clayton and we'll get the Swansea or wigan mamager to come and save us. {Ed001's Note - Max Clayton is an excellent young goal scorer with a lot of pace, he would be a great signing for us.}

We pinched Dan Smith earlier on in the Season, according to this rumour/report, we have got an eye on Max Clayton, with the intention of bidding, warring and winning.

But, and i know 2 out of 3 is blooming well good stuff and i know many already know what i'm reaching towards, but i make no apology for it.

Nick Powell, he's one of the best young players i've seen, it's like one of the Ed's said about Powell last week ''He's a bit special.''

I'm from the City that Cheltenham's in and Powell's wonder goal against the Robins was no fluke or accident, Le Tissier 'esque (Powell flicks the ball up on the edge of the box and Goal! With his weakerfoot he's popped into the back of the net in the league two play off final. h

He's going to be a top draw player and i truly believe he's going to play for England's national team at senior level and have a place for a long time. Surly a stitch in time saves about £9-£15 million.

I think we should be signing the Nick Powell's of the game, instead of wasting time on players who want to turn and up already be playing in the Champions League. {Ed001's Note - Powell is going to be a bit special, they have another young striker who has the potential to be a star in the future too. Ryan Colclough, he is another name to watch out for, as is there young keeper Ben Garrett.}

Sounds about right. Man Utd get Young, we get Downing. Man Utd get Powell, we get Clayton! {Ed001's Note - they haven't got Powell yet.}

Remember when bill shankly retired,we gave the job to a no-mark ,a man who had never managed a team in his life,a man who didn't want the job,who thought he would not be up to it,is name was bob paisley, lets just see what happens, say no more.....once a red always a red

Being from Sandbach next door to Crewe and going Wembley and watching them Sunday, Max Clayton is class and I know a lot of people actually prefer him to Nick Powell just because of his attitude, me knowing Nick and his brother I can see why haha would be a good signing attributes similar to Owen if I am honest, as for Garrett eds I know a lot of the Crewe fans rate him high and others not so good

Not sure if it is common knowledge, but Liverpool are holding a press conference on Friday – Hopefully to let us all know who the new manager is!

Probably just introducing the new backroom staff and maybe to give a progress update to stop sky sports making a killing with the betting market.

fingers crossed though

the merry pippin

It's to announce van Gaal as DOF I believe

Redjay

Hopefully to tell us FSG are selling the club to someone with a clue

Isn't that because the sponsor deal with Warrior Sports start running June the 01?

I honestly have never known ridiculous fans like ours. Sell the club? Havent got a clue? They signed Dalglish because of the FANS. They gave him £100million and he wasted it on crap. They didnt do a ground share because the fans didnt want it. Honestly we need to get a grip!

Hopefully to tell us that all the plastic fans on this site asking them to leave, or that they have made us into a joke etc, have had their IP addresses logged, identified, are no longer wanted as LFC fans, and now formally Chavski fans

They no nothing about football at all, dalglish would of achieved more than any stupid manager they get in. All we needed was a right winger and a poacher, but no they sack the manager, the new one will have new ideas, and want new players kenny would of got their gradually

How can you say that you want the owners to leave they signed daglish because we wanted him and had every right to sack him he wasnt moving the club forward the way it was expected you need to put the history and our love for the king aside! what we need is a manager that can move the club forward and be there for a long time which is what the owners are trying to get in trust them there far from clueless! YNWA

All he needed was a Right winger and a goal poatcher? Then why didnt he buy them with the massive amount of cash that was handed to him. Dalglish bought British and British players at the moment are overpriced and crap. Anyone who has watched Liverpool over the last few years knows how they desperately need pace....now we are overcrowded with sluggish midfielders and nobody for the right wing.....why Adam was signed is still beyond me.

Don't know how any manager can do anything in 18 months, Alex ferguson was going to be sacked after 2 years, imagine if they did sack him. So IMO bad decision to sack dalglish should of been given time.

That's rich someone calling John Henry clueless, you dont make the type of money he has in his life if you are clueless, you read way to much into media hype--The owners havent said a thing during the process of choicing a new manager only papers and lying journos oh and sorry big mouth Whelan. you are the type of fan that i just can't stand wants everything to happen this second and if you dont like it everything is crap. If they appointed a manager straight away after sacking Kenny you would have been OMG how can they treat the king that way but they take their time and they are clueless.

Once the appoints are made then we judge if they are clueless or not but you dont pump £400mill into buying a club and players to want to make it a mid-table team, yes Kenny maybe should have gotten another year but 8th place is the worst and i mean worst league position i have ever witnessed and that's over 40 years of football so he had to go just not good enough. Lay off the owners they will get it right Liverpool had to change a lot of things and they said give us 3-4 years

The press conference on friday is more than likely to do with the start of the Warrior Sports deal, its begins on june 1st.

Definitely agree with the last comment. Dalglish was a stale manager not in his prime. Last time he managed was ten years ago. Its like everyone wanting Rafa back, do you not remember the crap he put us through at the end of his time here. FSG are business men so why would they want a club to fail? Surely they know in the long run whats best. We are tapping into unknown financial markets that we havent used before. They are sorting the club from the bottom to the top and yet you still moan. Whoever they get in from Rogers to Martinez has my full backing. I hope they show they are quality and show this nonsense down our chelski fan's throats. YNWA!

And they say liverpool fans are ment to be the best supporters in the world! some fans are so fickle asking FSG to leave after they splash 100 mil last season? cuckoo cuckoo! manager wise i would rather a manager that has pull and connections in the world wide market, that can attract world class players to our club. but as from being from swansea rogers has done an amazing job and if he could bring any player over it would be joey allen any day of the week, the boys class.

"Hopefully to tell us FSG are selling the club to someone with a clue"
Which is something you don,t have you narrow minded fool.Slagging off people for the sake of it is brainless, wait and see what happens before you start spouting sh*t.

I also want to stick the boot in to the short sighted fickle fans who want the owners out. Owners by the way who saved the club from adminstration and probable Championship football.

I agree that KK galvanised the club when he came in but his the tactics I've seen him deploy this season have been poor and out of touch with the modern game. 6 home wins all season is just not good enough. Spending the amount we did on Downing, Adam and Henderson was bordering on negligent. I'll discount the amount spent on Carroll as the deal with Chelsea for Torres was always Carroll + £15m.

As for Martinez or Rogers not being big enough names, the big names we have been linked with are only big names because big clubs in there respective leagues took a chance on them. Who is to say that Rogers could not be the next Klopp. Klopp by the way got Mainz promoted and then relegated before landing the Dortmand job.

Oh and I go to every home game and some away ones and the best footballing team I've seen us up against this season is Swansea, so if Rodgers could bring that swaggar to Liverpool aided with some steel, I'd look forward going to the game.

He might know how to make money, but he has never had nothing to do with English football- so u gotta Admit he can't know a lot himself. But admit He did invest 50m, Jose- good Carroll- improving Henderson- good in the middle only young will improve, Adam had a good season at blackpool, big step up at lfc - not good enough. Downing loads of assists crosses at villa- improving but average. Dalglish inherited a small poor squad with bad dressing room, for even mourinho it would of took him three for years. He spent a Lot of money because ayre

Cos ayre got tucked up and Liverpool players cost a lot, plus Liverpool needed more of a British dressing room. British players cost money

Talk sports
Liverpool and Porto set for battle over Colombian striker.

in January he was there and asking price is £5.5m we was confuse now battle with porto .

what.

Can't be James Rodriguez, because Porto already own him - but he would be class.

Perhaps Falcao (would be a hell of a lot more ) or Jackson Martinez?

Jolly Red

More than likely Jackson Martinez, well hopefully anyway as he is a class player!

29 May 2012 12:29:14
i know we havnt got a manager at the mommernt but any chance of us getting yann m'vila quality player? thanks in advance

Rumour going around is he is expected to sign for Arsenal

Wouldn't want him

Reports weeks ago that he had agreed terms with Arsenal...just can't sign yet...

29 May 2012 12:08:33
Any chance Liverpool are interested in Gylfi Sigurdsson, Swansea seem to have agreed a fee with Hoffenheim and at around £7m is relatively cheap and a big improvement on Adam, Spearing and Henderson. I know we have no manager in place at present, can the owners make a jugement on signings?

Of course the owners can make a judgement on signings! It's their money being spent at the end of the day! They will analyse everything about every penny going out. It's still a business after all.

He's a massive man utd fan... so no

Swansea have already signed him!

29 May 2012 12:00:41
So it's now Rodgers then...
BBC sports reporter claiming on his twitter :

richard askam ‏@richaskam
Have very good info Liverpool closing in on deal with Brendan Rodgers.#lfc

I would be happy with LVG as Dof and Rodgers as head coach.

Thanks for all your efforts eds. Briilliant site.

Neo

I don't think that it is a real account tbh.

Burnsy

Wow another top class appointment for us then let's have a big round of applause for the kenny out brigade and fsg for all they have done
Eam

Thanks for adding my post for the first time Eds. Keep up the good work. Cheers,Neo

I dont get why people would be happy with Rogers and not Martinez.
Rogers nherited Martinez squad and tweaked it slightly.
Martinez has kpt a pooooooor wigan side in pl over 3 years and has played atractive football and stuck to his principles I cant fathom why ogers is much better thsn Martinez. i ould also appreciate some of the eds thoughts on this.

Lurgan Red {Ed001's Note - Martinez did build the Swansea side, but, according to the Jacks I know, he had taken it as far as he could and it was Rogers input that put them in the Prem. As for Wigan, Martinez inherited a mid-table side, that had not been struggling against relegation, from Steve Bruce. He has been there for 3 years, every year, the mid-table side he inherited, has been in a relegation dogfight. He has tried to play good pass and move football, but he has brought in players that are not suited to pass and move football. Players like Moses, who constantly have their heads down and look to just run and run and run and have no final ball. Unless he has learnt his lesson from that, it must be a worry that he is in the frame. As far as I can see, the only positive about him is his media work, he is very good with the media.}

Really?? I feel both Martinez and Rodgers show a lack of ambition from the board. Martinez perenial relegation battler and Rodgers - one season in the prem? It would be a huge gamble with either of them and we could be back to square one by xmas?!

I personally think martinez is the better manager he put in place a great set up at swansea and now rodgers is getting the applause for he has just given wigan a great set up as well in signing some exciting youngsters who will only get better -THE POPE

Rodgers our new manager? oh my lord!!! I'm sure all the other top clubs are having a giggle at our expense! After being linked with all the top managers, I knew it was a publicity stunt by the americans, trying to give the impression they made the effort!! FSG want a easy life, they seriously believe rodgers, better then King kenny? I was under the belief that you only get rid of something if you gonna bring someone better in!!! Is rodgers a better alternative then Rafa, van gaal, rikjiaard, villas etc I have seen rodgers cv a flop at watford, reading, put together a few decent results for swansea, does that make him good enough to manage liverpool! This time next year we will be in the same boat trust me mark my words!!!! No wonder we are in debt paying kenny off, buying out rodgers contract its a joke thats over 10m straight away which could have been used for players, rafa was there without any attachments...this is a joke!!!!

Ed001 I bow to ur knowledge on Martinez and Rogers.
Thanks for the input.Quick queation if u can answer.
Would you or most of the other edsa be happy with Rogers
Thanks in advance
Lurgan Red {Ed001's Note - I can't answer for the rest of the editors, but personally I would think it was a mistake. I would personally prefer Borrell to be given a chance in the role, after all he gets his players playing good football too.}

Rodgers plays great attacking football and managed to do well with limited budget, imagine what he could do with a good budget. Hes also young, we could be looking at the new sir alex ferguson. Brendan should bring dyer, sinclair and joe allen! ALL QUALITY!

Ed i get what your saying about the positive being that he's good with the media. But for me and i'm sure yourself, that is a small piece of whats required to be our manager. First and foremost has to be style of football. Daglish almost had it, there was a couple of pieces missing but without a doubt, given time he would have sorted that right out. But no point in saying shoulda woulda coulda.There's very little we as fans can do, ( other than jumping on the band wagon of the after school brigade and shouting Rafa, Roy and now Kenny out!). Whoever comes in needs time and most importantly our blind faith in him, because without all our backing in the next guy we're doomed to a never ending cycle of short term managers.

MM

With dyer, sinclair in our team top four is ours, we just need to ensure we fight off, chelski, spurs, m city, gooners to get them! Rodgers did perform miracles at watford and then reading! lol!

Major backwards step if either are appointed !! If this was the case why didnt they keep KD or even approach RAFA???? just hope its all paper talk.

My mate is cousin with adam Johnson (man city) and he's told me that there been contact between the two parties

So he's spoken to his cousin then? Big news indeed!

Benzo

There has been contact between them before. We probably make contact with clubs regularly and enquire about a lot of players. Same as any club. It's all part of the business. Nevertheless, he could make a decent acquisition, but will never be a world beater. Just a squad player in thesame way he is at Man Citeh.

Here we go...

Surely not that uncommon for cousins to be in contact with each other ;o)

So what your saying is that Adam Johnson and his cousin are back in contact?, That's a lovely story but not really for this site is it?. This is about football matters not ...Families Reunited.

Yh and liverpool will win the league next year........

Didnt you post last year about this time saying the same thing that you was his cousin and we were moving for him im still waiting lol i wont hold my breath

If it's true then I love you, so I guess I don't love you then...
Cheers,
TommyB

No, no, no. your mate is not johnson`s cousin. why do people keep coming up with this utter nonsense.

Speaking to a lad last week who can get kits now and then I have been asking for Suarez kit for months and he said do you think he will be there next season and smiled, genuine connection to the club but when pressed was sort of saying I don't know I'm just saying do you think he will be there

I am sure his kits are just like his information, FAKE!!

And your point is?ask your smiley gettin kit fella to clear up this senseless post

Yes, he'll be there.

Did he also say 'the red fox is in the shed' and to meet him at the park bench on the east side of the grass, come alone, and bring the suitcase. Just wondering cos a very rarely meet the unusually secretive code speaky type people that so many people seem

Sorry i didnt finish the last post -

did he also say 'The red fox is in the shed' and to meet him at the park bench on the east side of the park, just6 wondering as I rarely meet the code speaky, covert type peopl so many people on here seem to meet. It seems like everyone involved with football is incapable of giving a straight awnser.

Kit-man? Is he a masked football gear wearing vigilante? I hope you didn't give him any money, sounds like an epic swindle to me!

Nonsense, the lady who works in the laundry at Melwood lives near my Dear old Mum and has as much inside knowledge as your kitman, i.e zero

What does he work in sports direct what a load crap

29 May 2012 03:05:16
just wondering why ed016 is so sure the new manager will not be klopp it makes sense in my head for him to be the next manager although i have a feeling it will be AVP or martinez

great site
YNWA JTF96 {Ed016's Note - He said no! drop the Klopp}

I said no*

;) {Ed016's Note - He said no! delusional some people! I'm over trying to get it through to people now. Believe want you want, I'm not going to set you straight anymore}

So did Rodgers

Ed016, drop the klopp! and keep the jurgen is it? jurgen klinsmann is USA's manager right and he might have influenced our US based owners..if u know something plz tell it..

Why would klopp come to liverpool after building such a great team - now he'll be looking to kick on and enjoy the fruits of his work. No chance at all.

What's so great about Dortmund anyways?!?. They are finished the moment Gotze, Kagawa and Lewandowski leave. So bad so that they may never finish in top 3 again....

Lol

i like it...drop the klopp
in all serious though he did say no and gave a very reason why not, so lets stop reaching for the stars

How embarrassing it is to be squabbling with the likes of Wigan and Swansea trying to get managers who are not much better than Championship standard. I have a real sense of deja vu from the time we had that "genius" Hodgson appointed two years ago.

It makes sense in your head, for klopp to want to leave Dortmund... For Liverpool??
You have issues...

Why do people seem to think that Liverpool have a choice when it comes to the next manager? The choice is between genuine candidates who actually want the job, not big name managers who are happy where they are!This isnt fantasy football. I think we should sign Messi, Ronaldo and put Pele in a time machine then sign him but it aint gonna happen is it! For me, i'd like Rodgers with Van Gaal as DoF. A talented young manager with a great football philosophy, and an experienced well respected european figure capable of attracting some of the bigger names. Lets just have some faith and get behind the club rather than pretend we all know whats right for the club and play fantasy football.

Put Pele in a time machine and sign him? so we would sign old Pele in the past? Or we send him to the future and sign him there? Either way I dont know if I would go for it but maybe the Americans would like it.

And you know what's right for the club? You have all the deep insights into Rodgers' "great football philosophy"? Please share that with us and enlighten us imbeciles who dare to get upset when the club we love looks like it's doing no more than spinning its wheels and going nowhere.

Whoever the next manager is, let's just hope he is given time and that we don't turn into another Chelski or Man Citeh. As long as the owners bring in the right man for the job, whatever his qualifications and cv may be, I would like to think he will be given the time to build a team to rival the once impenetrable fortress of Anfield legends.
I have faith in FSG and think they will deliver. It may take time, but they will deliver. These boys really don't do failure. Y.N.W.A

"As long as we don't turn into another Chelski or Man City"? yeah, 'cos what have they won recently?

PJH

Why can't people realise that the owners want a man who will follow their policies! Best man for the job? it will be the best man who is willing to take the job, which when appointed the owners will put a spin on saying he is young, progressive, blah, blah ... in short is will be a load of - B#@ocks!

No real manager wants to take the job on as their is no money to spend, without selling of course, they will have to operate with one eye over their shoulder as the owners don't want a manager to have total control.

The club, "our" club is no longer the once great institution it was, it has become and will remain a peripheral club, top four? I don't think so! on the periphery more then likely but that is it.

We were told the new owners were the right owners ... yes right in the sense that it meant we saw the back of those two jokers, but certainly not right in the sense that the halcyonic glory days would return.

If it's Rogers or Martinez then as a fan I will get behind him and show my support, but I cannot help but think it is sisyphean.

ED016 are you really trying to tells us that Jürgen Klinsmann is going to be the manager ? {Ed016's Note - NO! where the heck did you get that from???}

If it's definitely NOT going to be Klopp who do you think it will be Ed?? {Ed005's Note - Anyone's guess atm.}

Whilst I agree with you Ed016, stating the reason Klopp won't join as 'he said no' is a bit feeble. In football, rarely do people say what they mean, especially when there is reported interest from one club, but they're contracted to another. Football is littered with examples. So whilst I agree that it's unlikely he'll join, your rationale is weak. Unless you know something else you're not letting on...?

Cheers,

Raoul

It makes sense in my head that it could be klopp because all of his young talent could very soon be on the verge of leaving. Also as macca said he is fsg number one target and they probally wouldnt have sacked dalglish if there was atleast a slight chance of getting him. and one last point rodgers distanced himself from the job now hes in a pole position to get it so its anyones game at the moment all i know is i will back whoever gets the job!

Hi Eds,
been told from a reliable source that the club will listen to offers for some of Kenny signings and other players:

-Charlie Adam.
-Jordan Henderson.
-Stewart Downing.
-Andy Carroll.
-Jay Spearing.
-Maxi Rodriguez.
-Dirk Kuyt.
-Joe Cole.
-Alberto Aquilani.

The board recogn that,the club want to implement more passing and movement in the system of play and players with poor first touches and poor movement maybe shiped away.

Also FSG are going to hold more talks with Roberto Martinez today as Brendan Rodgers and Jürgen Klopp were kept away by their respective teams.

The_Anfield_Swallow.

I'd be happy to see everyone other than Henderson and Carroll mentioned leave.

Thats just stupid.. we would not get anywhere near the return on these players (new players that is), they will all be given another year..

Wow, you actually couldn't be any more wrong if you tried to announce that aliens would steal the turf at Anfield! Seriously, what makes a person make up crap like this?

You say players with poor first touch and movement are going to be shipped away yet list Henderson who has a good first touch and is a very good mover?!?

Was your reliable source yourself, what a fool, the club would not sell 100m of investment from last year so soon.

Would love for all these guys to leave, none are true Liverpool quality. The money saved in wages would help bring in some actual talent. Still can't believe how much cash has been wasted on this mediocre bunch, btw Kuyt & Maxi have served us well.

Is your name appopriate?

This is a great site, i find myself on here every day, but reading some of the posts may be the eds should start a page called fantasy rumours.
Also i maybe wrong but FSG criteria for players to be bought was mainly "young and British"
Just wondering who eds and fellow reds would have gone for that are better than the players we bought? {Ed001's Note - FSG had no such British criteria. Personally I would have gone for players like Keisuke Honda, while we had a chance.}

This post is an absolute load of BOLLUX.
Whoever told you this is an absolute person and you are know better for passing it on.

'been told from a reliable source' - um no you haven't, you just made this up for the sake of it. Change your name to The_Anfield_Muppet

the doctor

What a clown..utter nonsense

We want to move to a move pass and move game. Ok, so why would we sell:

Henderson
Carroll
Downing
Maxi
Dirk
or Aquilani

if we wanted to achieve those aims? All of the players I ave listed above have either a very good first touch, very good movement or are very good passers of the ball. Maybe even Adam as well.

TSP

Although probably fabricated it makes total sense to offload these players! Let's be serious, we had worst season in over 50 years! Can't believe a club this big is trying to cover the cracks with the carling cup we won!..these players contributed to our downfall this season, and I'm afraid we're years away from returning to the big time!..getting rid of Kenny was just the start of a much needed clear out!

Honest red

Hope ya rite but i doubt it , i wouldnt mind keeping carol or maxi has i think kenny did wrong by maxi he played henderson , adams and downing bad game after bad game but maxi never got a look in

Time for the anfield swallow to migrate!

Your source is crap. Maxi Kuyt Cole and Aqua is only stating the obvious that still may change under a new manager. And it would not make business sense to sell Carroll knowing you would have to take a financial loss on a player who has started to play well for £35m and almost single handedly rescued our season. #nonsense

Won't happen Henderson is for the future. Carroll is turning into quality player. Downing will I prove as be is a good player

Five those not Kenny's Buys, the others your just guessing they will be sold. Carrol staying out as is Downing

Ed16. Do you think we are in for a suprise for the manager/Dof?
AnfieldUSA {Ed016's Note - I think people will be happier when they see the big picture}

Hi Eds, there do many rumours about who's going to be manager. It seems to change on a daily basis. Please can you clarify who's in the frame to be appointed?

Ps awesome site....I'm addicted lol
Cheers {Ed016's Note - Find Martinez the most likely.}

How come the change ed?
Yesterday I thought you said Martinez was out of the running due to fans reaction? {Ed005's Note - I think he, like most, is just guessing.}

ED016 Can you please clarify, yesturday you stated if im correct in thinking that martinez was no longer in the frame, due to up roar from the fans, has things changed since, fsg unable to get who they want and they have to stick with martinez! Thanks! for clarification! {Ed016's Note - He has been interviewed and offered the position, however it is up to him now whether or not he takes it}

Just heard that the owners will be landing in the next few hours, with plans to interview Martinez again, and also to try and talk to Rogers, if he decides to talk to our management.

However don't let this get you down, according to my source within the club, they also have many other slots for interviews and are apparently trying to get many other managers in line such as van gala for both manager and other senior role, other names I've heard is Villa Boas as a last option and Di Matteo depending on any updates at Chelsea.

I wouldn't put it pass the owners to pull a surprise and interview Rafa as we all want, keeping my fingers crossed for this.

Michael B

YNWA What ever happens I will back any manager

Wat a stupid comment,Brendan Rodgers cmon

Speak for yourself regarding Rafa.

I certainly don't want him back.

Stop looking through rose tinted specs.

Tristan {Ed016's Note - He has not been approached}

It's 11 in the U.S. Henry is not a young boy anymore. He needs his rest. IM SURE his private jet can take him in the morning
AnfieldUSA

This post is utter nonsense, its wrong / stupid on so many points it's hard to know where to start...

Your "source" within the club sounds like they got there information from this site- last week.

You've just regurgitated all last weeks rumours and passes them off as insider info...

How do u know its 11 in the us which part u refering to

Van Gala?
Is he still doing the ham?

Why on earth do they need to interview anyone again. Are they incompetent or what? Drag someone thousands of miles away to interview them and then realise they forgot to ask them a question so fly out to the UK to interview them again.
Listen up FSG. If you weren't satisfied with the first interview then it's not the right man for the job!

Also, give the Rafa talk a rest will you Michael. Less than half of fans want him back.

Why would you want di matteo or rafa. at least under kenny the matches were always exciting with good football played. when rafa was in charge you could've forgiven liverpool fans for failing to recognise good football
derryred

I think "as we all want" is a bit of an overstatement. i dont want him back and i'm sure there are thousands of others who dont over rate him too.
Tom

Who said we all want rafa back, speak for yourself matey

Yes mate totally agree any manager should be given support, whats the use in being negative when any manger can perform better without pure negativity from fans lets create a feeling of positivity for the team and club , i like the idea of martinez young fresh ideas and calm and cool and he knows england the area the football, lets get behind any manager though lets be positive

When will people see that it's Rafa's mess we're still trying to clean up years later! He sold everyone that was half decent and bought absolute rubbish at a massive loss. Rafa doesn't build, he destroys.

Your source certainly has covered all basis,hope he keep giving you those priceless bits of info!

Why would anyone want Rafa back? We sacked him once and he walked away with £9m in his pocket!...yes he did win CL, but was with Houliers team!..

I hate that ridiculous comment circulating regarding Benitez: "yes, he did win the CL, but...."

It was the same imbeciles were calling for his head when we were in the midst of something tangible for the first time in 15-20 years; incredible complacency.

You clearly have no concept of how difficult it is to garner genuine success with a team/club. Do you realise how the odds are stacked against us?

Rafa produced results - and i'm not going to bother reeling off achievements.

But go ahead, carry on in your fantasy world that we'll happen across an impossibility: a manager producing Barcelona-esque football, only with a water tight defence, going unbeaten all season, and clearing out every cup available.

Lack of intelligence/appreciation of what is facing us. The only thing I can't fault is the level of optimism that it will end well.

Don't worry, the years of Champions League respectability will seem like a dream before too long. Then you can carry on dreaming the rest of your lives.

..maybe he could win it again with Dalglish's team then? He definately warrants an interview.

I almost want Martinez as manager just to spite Whelan. That man is classless to put it mildly. I didn't want Wigan to get relegated, but now I wish they did, just so we wouldn't have to look at and listen to that tosser as much.

LIVERPRES

Couldn't agree more. This OAP's face is starting to irk me.

How can u want manger just to spite someone else wot does that say to a us Liverpool fans that don't want a manger that done no think in football

That is an ageist remark, you are banned for 8 matches and fined £40,000. :-)

Best post on this site for sometime. Totally agree. Media whore.

My daughter work for Whelan and he's a t@@l , horrible man I've had the misfortune to meet him not a nice man.That's why he goes nowhere without his bodyguard.

Baz F

Can't blame him as its big club little club thing!!
But I can blame fsg for whoring or club like this,what a joke this is fast becoming!!

Madred

Stop being kn*bs, all whelan is interested in is wigans fortunes and who can blame him, he owes liverpool ziltch. and wanting martinez just to spite him is just stupid.

One of purple nose best friends its awonder he hasnt started slabbering yet

Whelan work as a Liverpool speaker .

So you want Martinez just to spite Whelan not because he would be a good manager for Liverpool, not a very good reason is it.

regardless of managers, the key for any manager, will be the first signing. rafa got in xabi alonso a level 10 level. wenger got in patrick vieira a level 10 people.

for anyone to be successful at anfield. they are going to have to find another garrard midfielder for 50p. it will all come down to purchasing a world class midfielder for next to nothing.

rafa can't do that, martinez cant do that, kenny d couldn't do that. jurgen klopp might be the one man who can. {Ed016's note - how many times do i have to say it is not Klopp!!}

You just said Rafa got a level 10... so Rafa CAN do it. Anyone can do it... look at Alan Pardew who got Yohan Cabaye and Papiss Cisse. All we need is one creative spark in there... someone like Dzaegov or Sessegnon and then a wide man who isn't afraid to take someone on like Boudebouz!

BthekingB

Actually you'll find Rafa's first signing was Josemi.

Haha! Ed016 - I can feel your frustration after your various posts yesterday re Klopp. You seem VERY certain about this. Any other insight you're able to offer? No names but how about a) has a decision been made or choice narrowed down b) when can we expect official news? Thanks. {Ed016's Note - Expect a resolution to the Martinez option by the end of the week. If he accepts, it is his, if not then we will look elsewhere}

Ed016 - As many times we have to until you tell us WHO IT IS. Jesus. {Ed016's Note - Its Martinez's job to turn down}

Ed016 we aren;t going to stop asking if its Klopp until we know who it really is. Either tell us everyhting you know or we'll just think its bull s**t anyway {Ed016's Note - Martinez's job to turn down, which I think is a possibility due to the fans reaction being somewhat negativeJust to be clear, I am not claiming to have inside info and I never will. This is just my conclusion from all the information I sift through}

Don't be such a fing pest Ed016 we have no reason to believe you know who it is if you won't tell us. You never give us any useful info anyways - why should we believe you now? {Ed016's Note - I don't have inside info and have never claimed to! and never will! Ok I will not be a pest first off by making sure you can't post anymore. How rude. I don't have to stop misinformation for you! you want to believe it is Klopp then go a head!! It's pretty obvious Martinez has been offered the job and it is up to him now! he could turn it down or he could accept it. I KNOW KLOPP SAID NO!!!! and if you payed any attention you would have known that too.}

Rafas first signing was josemi
derryred

Was just going to say Rafa's was Josemi, kinda rains over your theory!

Your opinion wasn't asked on this one ed.. letting frustration get the better of u lol {Ed022's Note - There's only so much dump we can take.}

That's the bad part mate... don't worry the effort is appriciated by most
