Ed002, Regarding Kovacic, is it still likely he will be part of a deal going to Barca with Pedro & Song going to Inter on loan?

Do you no if Barca are still pursuing this option or not please as I'm just trying to weigh up if we might have a chance of him or not?

Believable3 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - The issue is that they had a really low bid and decided that they would look to other folk leaving to raise money for the summer. Bid sensibly and then negotiate, a deal may be viable.}

cheers for reply mate, we have yet to follow up that very low insulting offer but we may well do.

Apparently Liverpool representatives have met with the Inter Director of Football tonight according to reports in Italy.

There is no bid. It's also a little lower than inter are hoping to get from any kovacevic sale.

It does annoy me that as a club, we don't go after players we actually need. Kovacic is a floaty number 10 type. Not physically strong, nice passing and movement, but considering we're already a team of lightweights who get bullied in the middle of the pitch, it is just more money wasted. We should be looking at Lars Bender or someone like that.

Any movement for Roberto Firmino from LFC?

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - Firmino will very likely move from Hoffenheim in the summer with talks already having happened with Manchester City and Inter. Whilst I understand that there was a reasonable level of confidence from all parties that a deal will go ahead with Manchester City, they remain in a difficult position with FFP and cannot necessarily move quickly in the case of Firmino. Barcelona (who would delay a move until January), Arsenal, Dortmund, Zenit and Schalke are probably all still interested but none are apparently active in looking for something to happen. Manchester United have looked at him again but are not seemingly looking for a deal. Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Atletico Madrid, Shakhtar and Inter have dropped their previous interest. I am aware that Everton, Dynamo Kiev and Liverpool looked at Firmino last season but did not declare any interest with his agent at the time - although Liverpool have looked again, but a move to Merseyside seems very unlikely. Roberto Firmino was previously subject of a rejected bid from Southampton.}

Ed have we bid for Nathan Clyne from Saints??

Believable5 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - I am aware of what ESPN were told and who by, but I personally know nothing of it.}

I reckon Southampton told espn to try a get a bidding war going, because there not going to let him go on a free next year, but need others to jack the price up as they haven't really got my chips to demand more.

{Ed002's Note - Or not as the case may be.}

Haven't we learnt about signing Southampton players? Clyne looked really out of place at international level
