Hi Guys,
GREAT NEWS! Deal done. I have regularly posted on here over the last few
weeks that Richard Branson would be buying LFC.
I can confirm that this deal is 99% done. The MD of investments Ian Ackerley and Claire Gates who
is Virgin Moneys MD have completed due diligence and the sale is almost done. Announcment I am told will be before the derby.
The only sticking point is that Hicks is pushing for more $. Greedy * * , I believe the price to be £340m but Hicks is determind
to push the price up and squeeze Branson for more.
Hicks is furious with Broughton and has said "not a dime less than $600m (£380m)"
You heard it here first guys.
Open up the bar its time to celebrate!

The Wall Street Journal, Hollywood directors/ producers and now Hollywood A-listers.

I don't think we could get better publicity than this? IF it's one thing we know these Hollywood LFC fans will do, is bring the mess that H&G have created to the world's media i.e magazines, tv, internet, newspapers.

IF this is true then we will be everywere and now the whole world will hopefully sit up and take notice and tell Hicks to f*ck off he is FINISHED!

Blair Mayne YNWA

PS. Probably still won't be on SSN and Talksport!

I don't know if anyone has posted this?

I read an article in the Daily Post (very, very, reliable)
and they say "That they know of two serious bidders conducting Due Dilligence a we speak"

Could this be the two bids you have been talking about ED?

Hope so!

Been a massive news leak today at the company where my mate works. Ethel Austin Properties have gone into administration - courtesy of RBS! It hasn't gone public yet, but expect to see it in the press in the next few days. RBS have called in the debt and word is to expect there to be more bad debts being called in during the next fortnight. Apparently a number of significant debtors have been given until October to settle, but Ethel Austin Properties (based in Liverpool city centre) have thrown the white flag up already and the asset strippers went in today handing out notices to a lot of unsuspecting, very upset staff. Keep your eyes peeled for this story to break over the next day or two, get your prayer mats, rosary beads and lucky undies out and pray that it's us next.

Ed I can confirm further details in confidence if required.

One of my mate's a steward at both Anfield and Goodison (greedy b* * *d, and he supports neither - his team is Mansfield) and all you Stewards hear at the moment is exactly what we hear - rumours. The upper ecehlons are tight-lipped as hell at the moment. (and no, he's not one of my two sources)

Disappointed not to see Éver Banega for valencia tonight, wished we had bought him in the summer but i think roy was trying to make a point of not going after any of benitez's transfer targets. ed do you think we could sign him if the takeover goes well

QUOTE: Ed what do you think? {ed's note - the guy has a good rep in business, walking away from an unfinished job would have harmed it badly. I have faith that he intends to do his job properly and as quickly as possible so that he can move elsewhere with his reputation enhanced further.}

Nothing to do with the bonus of upto half a million then Ed? :)

Sir Bob the Red {ed's note - his rep is what gets him that bonus mate, if he enhances it with the sale then it is worth a million pound bonus next time.}

If come october 15th the yanks don't repay loan and the bank don't extend deadline the bank takes control of club to cover the loan cost this means gillett and hicks get nothing.
surely with there dire finansial position back in the us they can not let this happen and will drop there asking price to the 350 million mark to try and get something out of it.
all tho the potential bidders will want to hold off untill r.b.s. take control so they can buy club for less than 300 million.
what do you think the chance of a bid befor deadline by somebody to avoid a bidding war after this date ed {ed's note - I think that is what is taking place now, bidders are waiting till the last possible second to get the best price they can.}

Blair Mayne YNWA {ed's note - Aldo is truly a legend, if only Macca was Aldo!}

I don't think Macca is an ex liverpool player. .Talks good sense but . . Do your homework. SMF. .
Well macca am i right?

Again mate sorry to disappoint, i am not Aldo or any other x pros.

I can promise i have been telling the truth and i am still very confident we will have new owners soon (within the next 2 months).

I can also confirm that Purslow, Broughton and Ayre are doing what is best for the club.

I will not try and confirm a timeline because as soon as i do it backfires. I am also pretty shore Sheikh Mohammed is one of the people looking at LFC.

Dear Ed,
Heard Roy was on a scouting mission last night. So what do you think who might be the player he's keeping eye on. Any guess? Or it was just he was in netherlands itself. So he must have thought of enjoying a game? {ed's note - I was told he was scouting too, though someone on here says that they saw him last night and he was not at the game at all. I don't know who he was watching, I would hope Suarez though.}

It's cringeworthy that you think people will read that and think "wow that anonymous person on the internet must know some new facts, even though he has not given a name, source or any shred of evidence apart from that he is an employee at the bank!"

Hi ed,
from your short answers i realised you have a very
good knowledge of continental football so i, m
very surprised that you blame rafa for almost
everything! BTW players like hamsik, lavezzi, javi
martinez, ever banega, suarez are the QUALITY we
dont have to make us top team again, regarding the
ownership cause now it came my obsession do you
know anything? too many dates mentioned!
thanks malta {ed's note - I don't blame Rafa for almost everything, I blame him for buying the wrong players, I partly blame him for the team's lack of confidence and I blame him for the youth players not getting a chance. I don't think that is quite everything though. I have no info regarding the ownership, no one except a very small number of people know anything about it. Everything in the papers is utter rubbish and guesswork mate.}

Cheers ED Just a thought. {ed's note - no worries, he isn't playing because he is not getting picked. Hodgson did the same with Fulham until the latter stages as he prioritised the league. Personally I am glad because I couldn't give a monkey's about Europe until we win the league.}

()()

29 Sep 2010 17:39:03
Just a thought, has Gerrard played in any of Liverpools European games? if he hasn't does that mean he is keeping his options open for a transfer in January (not being cup tied). ED what do you think. Remember Owen {ed's note - why would he worry about being cup-tied when it doesn't apply after the group stages finish anyway?}

Liverpool chairman Martin Broughton has turned down an approach from the FA.

The British Airways and Liverpool chairman was among those approached by Sir Dave Richards in an effort to discover whether he would be interested in taking up the position. Richards was doing so in his capacity as the chairman of the FA's professional game board but to no avail.

Broughton told the Guardian: "I was asked if I would be prepared to put my name forward as a candidate for the job of FA chairman and I declined. When it comes to football my priority remains finding a suitable new owner for Liverpool."

Sticking to and finnishing the job, could have easy jumped ship. .and yet you draw huge penis and write his name on it? Ed what do you think? {ed's note - the guy has a good rep in business, walking away from an unfinished job would have harmed it badly. I have faith that he intends to do his job properly and as quickly as possible so that he can move elsewhere with his reputation enhanced further.}

hmm. Me thinks it's either Stekelenburg(Reina replacement if he
leaves), de Zeeuw(Lucas replacement), van der Wiel(Johnson
replacement) or hopefully, Suarez as a strike partner for Torres but
I doubt that we can afford him. Ed your thoughts?
{Editor's Note: It won't be Van der Wiel, the others are possibles.}

if we get de Zeeuw we might as well get Siem de Jong

Huge UK Casting Director Dan Hubbard (King Kong, The Damned United, The Bourne Ultimatum etc), is a massive Liverpool FC fan. This weekend he is coming up to Liverpool with Hollywood Producer & Director Mike Jefferies and together they are producing a viral to start a campaign against Tom Hicks and George Gillett. They want them out, nothing to do with them being Americans just, as fans, they will not ever accept the club they love being touted as a product like a soft drink.

They are looking for celebrities and influential Liverpool fans to be involved in the viral. We have lots of people going along already but wondered if was something you'd be interested in?

You would only be needed for 5 minutes. Either Saturday 10am-6pm or Sunday from 9am - Noon at Hope Street Hotel in town.

Gerrard stayed behind not cos he is rested, the season has only just begun but he has a meeting with his solicitor and agent. His wife has filed for divorce as he has been playing around ( not of golf ) again. Torres knew this and didn't agree with it that is why he refused to celebrate with him on Sunday. Watch this space and expect him to be off in January.

Are you just another bitter and twisted Blue who likes to spread rumours around . .that you have most probably read on all those bitter forums out there, which only concentrate on Steven Gerrard and rip him and his family to pieces. .there is nothing more certain
that evertonians Mancs and chelsea fans would love and that is for Gerrard to leave . . .sorry mate its not going to happen

Good 2+2=5 journalism again what you are doing is putting your rumours together to make it sensationalistic. Chances are Stevie has put it about judging by the smoke. Expect who to be off? Torres or Gerrard? or is that a quote that leaves it open so youve got 2 possibilities of getting your spin right?.
. . .Dont ever think that certain issues off field bother players. When Rooney picked up that paper on the sunday morning his first thought was not "my god what have i done to Coleen", his 1st thought was , Did she give me high marks out of 10?. Same with Hatton, the press hounding him on taking coke, absolutely no issue on the fact that he was sharing a room away from his wife and kids with some bimbo/ hooker. .she was a friend? Well call me old fashioned but my wife doesn't let me share hotel rooms with lady friends. .Alot of top sportsmen are that spoilt and out of touch that they have zero morals. .Mr Heighway has said to many a child "Unfortunately youre too nice a lad. Morning ed,

Who was it who told you it was a scouting mission?
There are a far few players from them two teams we could do with ha

Rez {ed's note - a friend of mine who is erm employed by the club just said Roy was going to be scouting on Tuesday, he said that on Sunday and said he would let me know more as soon as he knew it. He hasn't got back to me since, he didn't even know which game it was that Roy was watching at the time, just that it was a Champions League match. I doubt he will be able to give any more information than that anyway, he will probably only have educated guesses as to who it was.}

It's not a problem for Gillett to sell his shares (debt) to HICKS as he want's out and quick payoff is better than nothing.Also no matter how many shares (debt)HICKS holds, it's the banks that need paying.
HICKS is struggling to find investments willing to back him.He has defaulted on $525M worth of loans in the USA, and his RANGERS team went to bankruptcy court to resolve it's sale.

It was said that Hicks has setup a new company consisting of investors with the purpose of taking full control of the club. At this stage we don't know how this affects the loan status of the club, however we think theres no smoke without fire so watch this space. .

ED if Inner Circle have been brought in as part of the sales process. What could they bring to the table? Could it mean that there are no bids waiting and are bringing Inner Circle in to find one?

Blair Mayne YNWA {ed's note - there are definitely bids there, it is more likely that H&G are just bringing someone in to hasten the sales process or that the money on offer is just not enough to satisfy their greed so they are hoping Inner Circle will find someone willing to pay more.}
