Any interest in CBs ed? Sule from hoffenhiem looks a beast, Villarreal also have mussachio as a cheaper option. Both like to play football and would suit the style klopp has implicated, both slow though.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

{Ed001's Note - this has been discussed mate, we are looking at a couple, including an ex-Man City cb now in Germany, but it is not likely anyone will be incoming in that position this summer unless someone leaves.}

02 Apr 2017 20:03:09
Isn't Niklas Sule off to Bayern Munich in the summer? We have our own CB surplus Sakho to offload still and have Gomez on the bench.

Sule is joining Bayern next season. Scratch him off the list.

Agree4 Disagree0

02 Apr 2017 20:06:11
Sule's moving to Bayern at the end of the season (as is Rudy from Hoffenheim, as a by-the-by) .

Lovren is getting a new contract and I don't see a slot for a new CB.

Agree2 Disagree3

02 Apr 2017 21:00:24
Sakho will be leaving though, so there will be a place.

Agree3 Disagree5

02 Apr 2017 21:08:26
Cant see a new centre back not being bought. Lovren suffers too many injuries and we need someone as good as Matip to have a partnership as good as any in the league.

Agree3 Disagree2

02 Apr 2017 21:25:35
Sakho was replaced by Klavan while Gomez is the 4th choice CB at the club.

Ed001 "this has been discussed mate, we are looking at a couple, including an ex-Man City cb now in Germany"

Are you referring to Matija Nastasic? I hopes he improved if so.

Agree0 Disagree2

{Ed001's Note - yes and he has.}

02 Apr 2017 22:02:05
Ed001 tell me you mean Jerome Boateng!

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - nope.}

03 Apr 2017 04:33:49
I believe that the CB referred to by Ed001 is Nastasic; we showed interest in him prior to his move to Schale.

Agree1 Disagree0

03 Apr 2017 08:54:24
I thought klavan was bought to replace, skrtel/ toure.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - no, he was bought to replace Sakho. Gomez is the replacement for Skrtel. Toure's replacement at the back is Lucas.}

03 Apr 2017 12:19:22
If that's the case, aren't we resigned to losing Lucas which in turn would mean we need another CB. It's clearly obvious we do need a defender to anyone who watches football.

Agree6 Disagree1

03 Apr 2017 15:16:00
To be fair Decimus, Ed002 has repeatedly said that if Lucas is sold we will probably look to replace him with a similar player; ie a defensive player who can cover in midfield or defence.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Apr 2017 17:00:10
I appreciate mk, but that isn't going to solve anything defensively and what worries me is if we have 10-15 extra games next year the squad will be stretched and we are only talking about replacing players not adding to the squad to help with rigourous fixtures, look at united now there struggling with there squad and it dwarfs ours.

Ed01
Do you watch enough Bundesliga to provide us with a quality perspective on Nastasic?
Only watch Bundesliga highlights on ITV but looks good from what I've, seen however that would be classed as MOTD fever.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - no mate, only watch a game here and there when I can. Not enough to get a really good opinion of him.}

03 Apr 2017 22:17:47
At the end of the day Agger, he won't be tested in Germany to the level where he can be adequately assessed.
The premier league is the most hectic physically challenging league in the world. He might look good in Germany where it's illegal for the ball to go above waist height. Not the same facing WBA with the ball being constantly lobbed into the stratosphere.

Hi Ed,

If we fail with Brandt, would we like to other left midfielders/ wingers for that position or is it that JK wants the players specifically.

For example, Lemar continues to impress for Monaco and plays in a similar role to Brandt.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Lemar is an option Bayern Munich has also considered but Monaco don't want to lose him as they are in danger of losing others this summer. Liverpool has shown no interest in Lemar but another side who has were told they did not wish to let him go, I suggestet that Max Meyer might be an option but he is more of a Coutinho than a Brandt. Rafa Silva has again been watched by Liverpool - perhaps as a potenial option Julian Brandt. They were keen when he was at Braga and having only moved last summer Benfica would be looking for a high fee - but they do need the money and would accept a lower amount than his release clause.}

02 Apr 2017 20:08:54
I honestly cannot believe we are still scouting Rafa Silva, he is far too small for the Premier League and he isn't really talented enough to compensate for it. I am no pro scout but there so many more suitable options for the premier league out there.

Rafa Silva / Lazar Markovic / Mohammed Salah. All look the same. Running all day with little to no end product!

Agree4 Disagree6

03 Apr 2017 05:06:23
Salah has no end product? You might need to cast your net wider and have a look at other wingers than Insigne.

Rafa Silva has struggled since his move. A friend who is a big Benfica supporter tells me that while he has talent, he has struggled to apply it at Benfica since his move.

Any news about Gnabry of Bremen? Wouldn't he be a good choice?

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Apr 2017 14:06:07
Lazar Markovic is also a talent!

Agree1 Disagree3

03 Apr 2017 15:37:36
Salah no end product? You probably need to stop being obssessed with Lorenzo and get out more to watch other wingers in the Serie A as clearly, you've never seen him play since he left Chelsea.

Seriously unimpressed with Insigne.
What does Harry see in him? Bang bang average.

03 Apr 2017 18:41:32
Well Brandt dad/ agent said there is no deal in place for him to join Bayern. Hopefully that will give us a life line. I know a lot folks here are saying what is the big deal about him. You could have said the same thing about Mane when we signed him. He was not playing as well for Southampton as he had played for us, when a player for a system he can strive extremely well. You should not look strictly at stats in terms of goals and assists, but passing percentage, chances created, shot taken, and shots on target. A player could set up a 100 shots on goal, but if the end player does not finish how is that his fault.

Various rumours about James Rodriguez. I don't believe we'll get him but I think we should be careful what we wish for. Seems to me he's always chased the dollar rather than the football. Not convinced he has the conviction for games like yesterday's derby. I be happy to bet a sizeable amount that if he comes to England he'll be regarded as a $50mill+ flop.

Believable8 Unbelievable2

{Ed025's Note - dont worry frankie hes not going to liverpool, they cant afford him or his wages mate..

02 Apr 2017 11:30:55
Lazy, overrated, playing to get on the highlight reel. No way he's a player for a Klopp side.

Agree5 Disagree2

02 Apr 2017 15:58:18
He's on over 200k a week, there's only 3 teams that afford to pay overrated players that kind of wages.

Agree3 Disagree0

02 Apr 2017 18:18:24
Where on earth would you play him? I don't understand people obsession in the similar type of players.

Agree3 Disagree0

02 Apr 2017 19:53:36
Pretty sure more than 3 clubs can afford £200k p/ w wages.

Agree4 Disagree0

02 Apr 2017 20:03:12
Yeah but it's if they would. Man Utd, Bayern would and real do. Others like Barcelona can afford but just wouldn't go near him, if they think he'll be a flop. Football clubs are businesses owned by rich people who get rich and stay rich by been vigilant going and buying someone who is lazy and money hungry would not be good business.

02 Apr 2017 20:00:42
I agree Lorenzo. A few months back there was this kid on here called Harry who would just continually get obsessed with a different player every month. It was always a midfield playmaker/ attacker similar to Rodriguez actually; Kovacic, Modric, Cazorla, Dahoud, Banega etc.

Thankfully he has stopped posting now. Just before you showed up actually. Very good post Lorenzo. People definitely do need to stop obsessing over attack minded midfielders ;)

Agree9 Disagree0

02 Apr 2017 21:28:32
Ha ha MK
Kovavic, Modric and Carzola are not attacking midfielders mate. They are proper playmakers CM. We bought Wijnaldum last summer for that position hence I moved on from those names!

Agree2 Disagree1

03 Apr 2017 14:01:45
Even if we could afford him, doubt Klopp would go near him and his well documented party lifestyle.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Apr 2017 15:41:35
Awful player, stinking attitude, can't be arsed to work hard for the team and is not good enough for our team so no thanks.

Spot on, MK. Insigne is now Harry's new obsession but not to worry, he'll be back talking about how we should have signed Dembele, Insigne, Carzola, Kovacic and Heaven knows what other obsession he would have.
