reports say that we have lined up and settled on a deal to bring Ings in the Summer Ed. To your knowledge have we done just that or is it start again in Summer for him?

Believable3 Unbelievable6

{Ed002's Note - Please see earlier answers. At least we won't need any speculation about strikers in the summer.}

02 Feb 2015 21:57:48
Rickie Lambert has decided to stay at Liverpool.

Believable16 Unbelievable6

02 Feb 2015 22:29:37
I'm glad he has. Hopefully he can be used the way he was intended, now that the teams in better shape. The plan B striker we lacked last season, was never bought as a starter. Borini and Balottelli must be shown the door first, no surprise Lambert was the only striker of any interest.

I'm not glad he has stayed, mental business by both parties. At 32 to stay 4 months and not get a look in and then get dumped like a bad kebab and treated like a muppet by Uncle Brendan in the summer, is misplaced loyalty, cause Brendan isn't going to return the favour.
The club not pushing the move through and recouping most of what he has cost us for sitting on the bench or in the stand is just bad business. We have Balo, Borini, Sturridge, Sterling and we play one up top, that's good enough cover without Lambert. This could end Lamberts Career in the Premiership, which is a massive shame, 32 year old who has to fight to maintain weight and fitness can't miss this much football.

Hi Eds, doing a great job! I read that Liverpool are looking to put a late bid in for Asier Illarramendi the young Real Madrid star. Is there any truths in this? Thanks

Believable6 Unbelievable13

{Ed002's Note - They better hurry then.}

02 Feb 2015 19:53:07
Have it on good authority that danny ings is on his way to melwood with lambert and borini both going!!

Your source is very wrong on Ings and Borini.

"Have it on good authority" roughly translated as "making this codswallop up as I go along".

Have it on good authority that both lambert and borini will be staying and a bid in the summer is more likely for ings

Evening Eds,

Can you see Liverpool looking to bring anyone in should Lambert leave? Getting a bit close to the wire for me.

I would be tempted to give Ibe a shot up front if we need someone instead of panic buying someone now (Gignac??)

Good luck to Lambert if he does leave, amazing for him to play for the club he loves, shame he didn't get to score a blinder at the Kop end!

Cheers in advance Eds

Believable5 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - I think their is sufficient cover - Rodgers may not agree - I dealt with Gignac earlier.}

02 Feb 2015 19:13:17
Ed002

Lambert ain't going to Villa mate is he?

Believable3 Unbelievable9

{Ed002's Note - It remains a possibility - as does another approach from Hull.}

02 Feb 2015 18:05:33
Hearing Lambert to Villa for 5m could very well be a deal that happens before the close of the window.

Believable15 Unbelievable18

02 Feb 2015 18:17:41
yeah lambert to give villa 5m to leave as manager!

Eds this ain't happening is it?

02 Feb 2015 19:14:33
No idea if it's true or not, but if it were I'd leave it up to the player. If he wanted the move for more playing time, then fair enough. He wants to stay, that would be okay as well.

Hi Eds/Reds,

I know Liverpool can't sign every players (believe me, I know!) but we were very close to a purchase and loan back deal for Dele Alli in the summer and we have been constantly linked with him since. Given our preference for younger players with sell on value, does anyone have an insight as to why we don't seem to be in for him now? Losing him to a premiership rival for £4m could bite us on the behind in years to come.

Also, re Will Hughes, are Derby still looking for too high a price for him for us to pursue any interest?

I see us buying very expensive youth players from overseas, and also letting our own youth players go out on loan, but when we have British youth for a (relatively) reasonable fee, we don't seem to follow up on any interest. I don't get it.

Believable8 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - I find it slightly strange that Liverpool did not push for Dele Alli when they had the chance. I don't know the reasons why. I am not aware of any club looking to Hughes this month. I would think his future will be decided when the season ends.}

02 Feb 2015 17:15:57
Maybe we can let Spurs do all the groundwork this time, the swoop in. Then chelsea would double swoop us :/

Eds

Are we looking at sorting out a deal for Ings today to arrive in the Summer? I no its bin said no deal done today but i'm just confused if we are actually after him at all or made up?

Believable8 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - There is no rush to do anything today for the summer - but there is certainly interest from Liverpool for a summer move.}

02 Feb 2015 14:14:23
Ed002. I meant marseille striker Gignac moving to liverpool is a done deal. According to s twitter. Sorry for the mistake of clubs haha. So any truth

Believable3 Unbelievable4

{Ed002's Note - Gignac is available and there is some interest from a London club. Marseille has someone who has been dealing with Monaco over another player this morning is shortly to arrive back in London. There is certainly no "done deal" with Liverpool at this time. Try and stay away from Twitter.}

02 Feb 2015 14:52:03
Ed you said not at this time, Could that change by the end of the day, Or is this just not going to happen. Basically do the rumours have credibility or is it just nonsense.

Thank you.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - At present Marseille have representatives in London and in France dealing with transfer issues. There are discussions going on about Gignac with another club right now.}

02 Feb 2015 17:25:34
which club ? any chance that liverpool could go for him ?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - West Ham.}

02 Feb 2015 12:36:00
I have a relative who works for the club and they have advised me that we have been in contact with Celtic over Van Dijk. I heard this a while back but can't see this happening? Has anyone heard anything? Can see use signing anyone today.

Tony barrett said liverpool are trying to get danny ings still to avoid tribunal at end of season any truth eds

Believable1 Unbelievable14

{Ed002's Note - I don't understand why there would be a tribunal in the summer.}

02 Feb 2015 12:36:53
I have seen Burnley would be due some compensation for Ings in the summer but I thought it was a set amount and didn't need a tribunal. I might be wrong though.

Ed001 Just read on just tweeted Gignac Lyon striker is a done deal. What's this about, I'm heard nothing about this??

Believable1 Unbelievable5

{Ed002's Note - Ed001 is not around but I would not trust any Twitter messages that say Gignac has moved to Lyon. He hasn't.}

02 Feb 2015 11:20:31
"Hearing Burnley striker Danny Ings signed pre-contract terms last week with Real Sociedad. Yet to be confirmed but source is reliable."
Just seen this on BBC?

Hi Eds, it looked at one point during the window that we were going to bring Origi back early - is that still on the cards or is it completely off now due to Sturridge's return?

Also, it seems Hull and Palace are interested in Lambert. Any ideas if he'll be sold or not?

Believable3 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - Origi has been done to death. Try the search engine. I think there is a good chance Lambert will leave.}

02 Feb 2015 11:39:24
According to SkySports, they say Brendan has said no first team player will be leaving, so do you still expect Lambert to still go Ed?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I am not "expecting" anything of Lambert but there is a lot of interest in him. If he were to go a replacement would be required by Rodgers and I suspect that might prove difficult.}

02 Feb 2015 13:17:29
Thanks Ed.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - As the day moves on one problem will be getting medicals organised. A couple of clubs have had medicals conducted for their possible outgoing players even though there is no deal for them yet (and this includes a couple at the ACON). It is also possible to have the medicals done remotely - so if, for example, Liverpool were to buy Marco Reus today they could delegate the medical to a Doctor in Dortmund.}

02 Feb 2015 13:50:39
So does that mean we are in for Reus today! Wow! I'll be so chuffed!

;-)

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - You are aware that Messi has missed training today - apparently for "personal reasons"?}

02 Feb 2015 14:30:42
Not surprised about Messi, Luis has obviously been selling Liverpool to him.

I think he will fit in extremely well being a quiet, unassuming hard worker who's all about the team, bout the team, no hassle.
