Hi eds regarding alberto moreno do you now how recently we made enquiry to sevilla and also what other clubs hold an interest

Believable3 Unbelievable12

{Ed002's Note - I think it unlikely that Alberto Moreno will be sold in the January transfer window. The full release clause for Spanish clubs is being asked by Sevilla and that has so far put off interest from Chelsea, Cardiff, Spurs and Real Madrid. Manchester United also had him looked at but will take it no further.}

Hi ed 002, are you aware of what kind of release clause Moreno's contract has, and what it has been set as?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I really would rather not get in to the money and any discussion about "clauses" as it will confuse people.}

sam rhodes from telegraph saying salah deal agreed for 9m and flying in tonight for medical, only twitter feed so dunno how reliable

Believable34 Unbelievable66

Thought that was a fake account?

Agree0 Disagree1

Just read the same from from an Egyptian radio station stating in the last hour we have agreed a fee and he's now cleared to head to Liverpool for a medical

Agree1 Disagree0

Dunno ForzaRed but seems a legit account to me, but what would I know lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

It is indeed a fake account.

It's true Salah AND maybe Tello will sign tomorrow. Salah defiantly though.

Agree0 Disagree1

There's no mention of him on the Telegraph website and if you reverse image search his twitter avatar you'll see that it's a stock image.

Agree1 Disagree0

A fake account with 19.3k followers? its not fake, I follow a lot of football journalists on twitter I've been following him for the last year, posts some interesting stuff to read. along with henry winter of the telegraph.

Agree0 Disagree1

Obviously 19.3k people are following a fake account then! If you just search "businessman" the image that account has as its profile picture comes up, and multiple Telegraph journalists have been tweeting tonight that he doesn't exist and that he doesn't work for the Telegraph. Believe me, he's fake.

It is a fake account. The social media editor of the Telegraph has asked him to respond to his claims of writing for them as they have no record of him.

Seems to be everywhere now Salah will become a Liverpool player over the next few days. Just want to say hats off to Ed002 who told us about the interest in Salah weeks ago. Shows that this site is still the best for getting the transfer info. Where's Macca though? Still hungover from NYE maybe?

Apparently, within the last hour Egyptian radio reported Salah to undergo medical tomorrow.

Believable28 Unbelievable49

This kid looks special. Way too special. Makes me wonder why Real/Barca/Bayern and of course the Spuds aren't all over it.

I'll believe it when I see it. But I'll be dancing a jig if we pull it off.

Whats the latest on Xabi Alonso? We desperately need an old head in the middle to keep the ball, when we are holding onto a lead. Alonso is the next Pirlo/Scholes who can go on until 36/37 easily

Believable3 Unbelievable13

{Ed002's Note - I really don't see a move to Liverpool happening in January. I see Alonso's options as a short-term contract in Madrid, Galatasaray (I can't see him moving there but there is interest), New York Red Bulls, Colorado Rapids or LA Galaxy (all possible) and finally Real Sociedad (in the future perhaps). I can't say the most likely thing to happen but I could give an opinion that he will stay to the summer and perhaps one more year in Madrid, move to the MLS (maybe the NY Red Bulls) and then return to Spain to end his career with Real Sociedad. Juventus is keeping a watching brief.}

02 Jan 2014 16:47:40
Ed's what's the situation with Mathuidi and his contract, seems as though he's angling for a move away? And another PSG outcast Lucas Moura? Thanks in advance.

Believable2 Unbelievable7

{Ed002's Note - Napoli, Juventus, Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester City and Real Madrid would like to take Matuidi for free when his contract expires at the end of June 2014 - but I suspect either a new deal will be signed once his old and new agent stop bickering, or that a decent sized bid will be made to take him to London or Naples in January. Moura was looking to return to Sao Paulo on loan and there is a deal being tabled that might well suit all three parties - although PSG are not so sure it will suit them as discussions have dragged on. Juventus has a declared interest if he becomes available. Inter are fearful of having a difficult window and may also look to get an early loan bid in. If Menez were to Leave Lucas Moura would stay until at least the summer.}

But what if PSG got Pedro would Moura then be allowed to leave.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Probably.}

Hi eds what's your opinion on the rumours regarding badu from udinese. Real or just media bull. Also what's his reputation like on paper he just looks like another squad player and not an upgrade. He has said there is no point in stockpiling players

Believable2 Unbelievable10

{Ed001's Note - I don't know anything about the lad, sorry.}

I am not an Ed, but having seen Badu play, he is quite an average defensive midfielder. There will be better players in Ligue 1.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jan 2014 20:46:50
This is what i've read or, got from his records, I haven't actually seen the lad play, so I won't comment if he's good enough or not, so i'd ask for folks not to formulate too much of an opinion on this alone.

Middlesborough and Wolves turned the lad down when he had trials there in 2009, then he went back to Arsenal (African Arsenal, in Ghana I think). Then Udinese picked the guy up for around 400,000 K (euro's).

In 2009/10 Badu played 5 games, all as a substitute for Udinese. Then in the next season he made 2 starts and 6 sub appearances for Udinese in the League and 1 start in the Italian cup.

In 2011/12 Badu got 6 starts in the Europa cup for Udinese and 6 starts in the League as well as 4 sub appearances. In the following season 2012/13 he made 14 starts for Udinese in the League and 11 as a substitute 5 starts in Europa, so 19 starts was a vast improvement on prior seasons. This season he has 8 starts and 3 sub appearances in the League for Udinese.

He has played 41 times for Ghana and A-Badu has played 59 league games including sub appearances for Udinese and that Badu has played 77 games (all competitions) in total for Udinese since 2009/10.

Worthy mentions for his career so far are that he was part of the 2009 Ghanaian youth team that one the African Gold medal. He was in the Ghana FIFA U-20 World Cup winning team. In 2010 he was a silver medalist with Ghana in the African Cup of Nations and on a personal achievement in 2012 Badu scored the Puskas Global goal of the year, in which he chipped up the bal outside the areal and volleyed it in to the goal, in true Matt Le Tissier'esque style. Disappointingly, I can't find much footage of the lad actually playing for Udinese.

This might not be much help but hopefully it's something to go on.

Hearing rumours that Rodgers wants to take Casemiro from Real madrid on loan until the end of the season. Not sure if this is entirely accurate but I have heard this a few times now.

Im hearing Salah to sign tomorrow after the medical, the only thing standing in the way is who pays the 3.5% sell on fee to his previous club

Believable27 Unbelievable10

I really hope this is true as he is pure quality

Agree0 Disagree0

Just my thinking here, so be warned :) But it's a ''sell on clause'' not a buy on clause, so i'd have thought that is solely Basle's business and none of ours.

But who knows, i'm not a contract lawyer, although I honestly believe I could be.

Agree0 Disagree0

It has nothing to do with a any sell on clause. Where did you get 3.5% from. Basel know they have an 'asset' that they value at more than we do. To make a comparison, we value Luis Suarez a lot more than Arsenal did.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - the 3.5% is in the new rules for any team that had him in their youth system. The same rule saw Southampton receiving a cut of the Bale fee, despite previously relinquishing their sell on clause.}

Eds what's the latest please with regards to full backs. Interest has been suggested in Montoya, Bertrand, Moreno etc but who realistically are we most likely if any to capture.

Also I am aware of the attacking mids that we are interested in like Salah, Rakitic, Hughes etc but is there any interest in any defensive holding type players that you know of?

Believable4 Unbelievable9

{Ed001's Note - how do you assess realistic likely signings? We have interest in those, they are all possibles for the right price.

None that I know of, but Rakitic has been used as a holding midfielder in the past.}

Thanks for that Ed. Just thinking could we well sign 2 full backs then in this window?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I would think it more likely to be one now.}

02 Jan 2014 14:13:21
Napoli are still interested in Agger and a swop plus cash deal could be on the cards with there promising 17 year old defender Armando Anastasio.
He can play in a variety of positions at the back so could be a good addition to the academy.

Another masterful move. We lose an experienced centre back in exchange for some cash and yet another "One for the future" of which we've had SO many who never made it into the future.

Eds/macca,

Have you heard any news regarding Alonso?

Is he still keen on a move or likely to resign with Madrid?

Thanks

morning edds with Rodgers after micky and willian in the summer and mata on loan safely saying he wants that attacking player with mata being told he can go if he wants would Rodgers go back in for him or is he out of our league cheers

Believable13 Unbelievable20

{Ed001's Note - forget Mata, he turned down the chance to join once a better offer came along, that ship has sailed now.}

Hi ed, do you mean that mata has already decided to join another club. Thanks in advance.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - no.}

02 Jan 2014 12:10:41
Hi eds I have heard from one of the la liga pundits that 3 prem clubs had approached him for his opinions on morena the sevilla left back. Any idea if we were one of the clubs and if so would he be available at a reasonable price less than 20 mill because of sevillas financial mess. Also what are your opinions on him he seems to be close to breaking into spain squad. he's young enough to sort the left back spot for next ten years ig he could settle

Believable4 Unbelievable6

{Ed001's Note - I don't know if we approached any pundits about him, we have certainly scouted him and made an enquiry to his club. I like the look of him, I would be excited if we secured him, though it might be a struggle for him to adapt to the Prem. Younger players seem to struggle to adapt when leaving Spain.}

It was graham hunter who said 3 clubs approached him for his views. I remember in the summer he also said we had camvassed his oponion on costa before making an enquiry

I too have heard this. Can the Eds clarify? Thanks.
