Eds are we close to signing, or extremely interested in Bernard or Athletico Miniero?

Or is it just some people making something out of nothing.

The kid looks class. {Ed002's Note - I have explained that hewas "scouted" - and that is it right now.}

Thanks for your prompt answer, cleared things up for everyone now.

I hope we get him.

NY23

For endurance training, they say he carries an oak cask of brandy over the Swiss Alps. He may be short, but Saint Bernard is one tough dude.

Check site regularly, but is there anyway of adding a section for posts with credibility so I don't waste ages shifting through the BS?
I bet tomorrow someone will be claiming they've got a source our heard something, when in fact they've checked out the latest gossip column.

Gav the Red {Ed002's Note - The trouble is that the transfer page is getting cluttered- we will try and improve.}

Stop complaining. The level of posts is no where near as bad as it was a year or two ago. The banter page is there to do what you asked by taking away the less 'important' posts. It's a rumour site not BBC news.

A simple system whereby users CAN to be logged in to submit a rumur and if they get it right, admins can +1 to the db would add credibility to the rumur. Alternatively, adding a sort button organising results by views, believable, unbelievable, number of comments would work. I've offered my services a couple of times for this site and would never charge but have never been taken up on the offer. {Ed001's Note - I have never received an email from the address you posted mate. You would need to email us and explain exactly what you mean and what you can do to help, posting it on here just means it gets lost in the clutter. With emails, I eventually get round to them, I do mean eventually though, I have thousands to sift through each day so it can take some time.}

Well ed's you lot have done amazing with the site so any improvements that you lot make we will be thankfull... so i just want to say thank you for the site however it is.

Eds, with that in mind, would it be possible to have extra pages of rumours? I'm not tech minded so I wouldn't know how difficult it would be, but it could be maybe something along the lines of "Liverpool Rumours In The Media" for the likes of regurgitated stuff from papers, Sky and twitter, an "Unsourced And Unsigned Liverpool Rumour" page for, as it says on the tin, anyone who hasn't given a name, email or proper source, and then a rumour page like Macca's, something along the lines of "Genuinely Sourced Liverpool Rumours." For that last one, it would only work if the posters submitted their email address and name and also disclosed at the end of the post who their source was. Obviously the Eds would use their discretion to edit the post, and maybe once they had given their email address and source, the Eds would already know it was credible and be able to trust the page they put it on. It would allow you Eds to build up a database of genuine sources and separate them from the BS stuff with "my source tells me" when you know damn well they've knicked it off Caughtoffside or one of the other peddlers of nonsense. Just some thoughts and it might even make it easier for you, and thanks to you all for the job you already do.

As an aside, I genuinely have a friend at the Academy, and I promise you now, I hear more correct stuff from you Eds and Macca than I do from him. What whispers he does get are occasionally correct but sometimes are just plain wrong or sometimes change. There are no certainties, even for those employed by LFC, unless your source is Mr Rodgers himself!

Cheers,

Sean {Ed001's Note - that isn't a bad idea, we never expected to get as much traffic as we did and are constantly having to evolve to cope. Maybe your suggestion would be worthwhile considering, it might make it easier for everyone.}

Although part of the joy of this site is reading through the completely bonkers rumours and banter, including the Ed's comments.
If you did want to do some prioritizing, you could do some sort of simple system of stars/ marks out of 5 from the Eds, which would be their way of assigning value to a posted rumour, without having to expend much time or energy.
But this site is wonderful in it's controlled anarchy mixed in with genuine rumours - don't change it too much!

Ed002 take it easy mate ur doin a good job! and gave the red give them a break, still cant beleieve there still sane#! good work all edds we need to stop the stupid questions our selves ey

!

billynwa

I think they do a brilliant job, but you never stand still when it comes to the internet. Like Eds have said "you need to continually evolve". Its good to have feedback from users or there wouldn't be much point in having a site.

Ed's, Apart from taking four youth players on trial last season have we looked at any Nacional players.

Dorset Red {Ed002's Note - I don't think so.}

02 Jul 2012 22:16:17
Lavezzi to PSG done deal 25m and prob big wages.....strike that off the list then.........
Wish we could compete for players like him, great player. wages will be massive but 25m seems a snip for him to be honest.

The Guv 81-9 YNWA JFT96

Strike him off the list? did you even think we had a hope ?

Ed are we interested in thiago Alcântara think he would be good buy {Ed002's Note - Search function.}

Probably as much chance as barca selling messi as him,i agree though,he will be world class,has to wait until xavi retires though.

red jay

Not goingto happen

He signed a 4 year deal at milan so forget about him.

Pal,

He's the heir apparent to Xavi, Barca aren't letting him go anywhere and he's getting plenty of game time at his boyhood club so he's no reason to look elsewhere

02 Jul 2012 21:55:50
hi eds, is there any chance of getting ganso if knowone goes for him, coz he has just rejected a contract offer from santos. He would fit in so well i think with rodgers style of play. Hhe would be the perfect long term replacement for Gerrard. {Ed002's Note - I would not hold your breath.}

Ed's i know we will not get him but what is happening with Ganso... is it still that santos can't afford to keep him and he wants to go to milan or has there been any developments.

KingMiz {Ed005's Note - Apparantly, not sure though, Brazilian football has had an influx of cash lately which means they don't need to sell their players to the European Clubs as much. I can't even remember where I heard that but probably isn't true!}

02 Jul 2012 21:14:06
This is a brilliant site, I'm do addicted,
Is there any more news on Sigurddson as he was supposed to have told us which club he is going to! I still believe it will be LFC

Cheers

90% done to spurs according to twitter

Can't rely on twitter because apparently he's jus been spotted in the Hilton hotel in liverpool

It has come to a point were myself and others I believe couldnt give a f*** if we get him or not. Has become all blazé. Even if we do get him I will just be thankful its over. Not over joyed we got him.

I think its Spurs fans talking the situation up, along with their belief that the only reason AVB hasn't been appointed yet is because Levy hasn't returned to the UK. More like he's negotiating with Blanc instead!

Nope guys I'm gutted think he's off to spurs his agent was in contact with Liverpool over a move but we were priced out as he was asking for 70,000 plus

Did he have a medical at spurs if so did he also have a medical at liverpool, r spurs have got him so let it go

02 Jul 2012 20:49:41
hi guys, i want to ask something, in denmark theres been rumours about real madrid, the rumours come from a spanish newspaper, do anyone have nay info on this, frankly id prefer not to loose him, theres also rumours saying city is interested. {Ed049's Note - lose who? If you mean Agger, I believe he wont be going anywhere.}

Ed that was so forward and direct love it it eases any anxieties what else do you "believe"

02 Jul 2012 20:44:35
Does Liverpool have any interest on Michael Krohn-Dehli ? lookd gud during the euros !! {Ed049's Note - There is no interest from Liverpool at the moment.}

..and when did krohn-dehli be a attractive player for LFC? lol...

Trust me he is not that good.

Quite possibly heading to Swansea.

Well, i'm a dane and i would be pissing my pants if we signed him. Far from good enough, - love him for the national team - as we currently doesn't have anybody better at his position and he is doing well enough. However, he is a player who haven't even shone in the danish superleague - playing for Brøndby, a team that have struggled for many years now. Don't go near him - would do better at wolves or a mid-table french team like evian. Guess he is going to one of those - not Swansea, i am sure Laudrup (the genius) can see that he doesn't cut it

02 Jul 2012 19:40:56
Now I'm not saying that Bernard from Atletico Miniero is a feasible transfer option, however, with Ed002's reluctance to discuss south american transfer targets and Chris in Tamworth's good relationship with the Ed's then I would say that it may have legs.
Blacon Ben {Ed001's Note - Chris has a good relationship with the Ed's? When did that happen? Just kidding Chris ...... honest.}

I'm mellowing Ed001, there's a chance we could get on yet!

Chris in Tamworth

Trivia but hiya Ben used to live in Blacon meself.Is ratio of Reds still high there?Jim

Regarding the Bernard rumour, no doubt started due to a certain individual or two.

It has made me think would a player such as this need a work permit and would there be issues? If anyone could help me understand how this all works in general would save me asking in the future.

Thanks, Andy Npton Red {Ed002's Note - Putting aside Bernard, the situation with work permits is that a player will be granted one if (a) he has played 75% of games at full international level for two years for a country ranked reasonably high up, or (b) if an exemption is applied for and granted under the "exceptional talent" provisions. For example, if a case is made to the authorities that a young South American is a demonstrable talent and clearly one for the future, it should be reasonably easy to have an exemption granted. If however, a pretty much run of the mill or average player was being bought and it was clear they are not appreciably better than those which could be found locally, or are being bought because they are cheap, then it will be much more difficult to obtain a work permit. The downside of the system in the UK is that the "bigger" English clubs can cherry pick the decent talent available and can obtain exemptions, and the rest of the players are assumed not to be talented enough for an exemption (as Chelsea or Manchester United etc. don't want them) and therefore obtaining the exemption is much tougher. Some players can obtain work permits through their parents or grand parents being English.}

No, this is a reference to the third coming of God ... Robert BERNARD Fowler, currently a free agent!!

Bernard has dual nationality

Thanks ed I will bear this in mind going fwd. And thanks for making my afternoon at work a little more entertaining earlier ;), Andy Npton Red

this question is for ed 002 or any of the others that can answere it. I know awhile ago you said we were looking at players in south america and you got abused for it because it they are not household names(which if you ask me, its better that we dont buy these household names because they usually play for themselves and not the club). I know you dont want to give out names (which is perfectly fine because there are way too many abusive idiots that come on here), but i was just wondering if the club is still considering some of these players? i hope so because i feel we would get more value for the price that we would have to pay in most cases. keep up the good work eds i appreciate it alot.

maythe-Red-bewithyou {Ed002's Note - The club will constantly be looking at players of various ages. It does not mean they will be bought now or even in the future.}

02 Jul 2012 19:30:31
PSG are keen on Suarez and Modric and are prepared to pay around £30m each. Although i don't want to see Suarez leave. I think £30m is a fair price. I believe Suarez is open to the idea of a move to PSG. Hopefully we will keep him, but if he does go, lets hope we invest wisely this summer.
YNWA

Red Lee

We shouldn't accept less than £50 million for Suarez

How many people are gonna talk about Suarez could leave. This guy is one of the most talented players around. If you are a true fan you want players with this talent around. This guy can create something out of nothing. Forget the money as we are not in financial difficulties. Dont mean to have ago but i am tired of people say he will leave. stop crying wolf.

Stop talking through your backside. Suarez has stated on several occasions that he wants to stay, and as far as i'm aware FSG are desperate to keep him. I'm sick of idiots like you posting garbage on here.

A perfect example of this is the rumours around Luis Suarez, the dialogue of which has gone something like this:

The Papers: SUAREZ CONSIDERING PSG MOVE.
The Player: It's absolutely ridiculous, I have no interest in leaving, I am very happy here.
The Papers: SUAREZ SET FOR PSG.
The Player: I intend to have many more years at Liverpool. The rumours are completely untrue.
The Papers: SUAREZ READY FOR ANFIELD EXIT.
The Manager: Suarez is a player we are desperate to keep.
The Papers: RODGERS LOOKS TO OFFLOAD SUAREZ TO JUVE.

You couldn't make it up. Well you could, people have. And they will continue to for the next two months.

I agree with the 2nd reply poster. I'm tired of coming on here and reading so-called supporters wishing our best players away. How are we ever going to get back to the top if we keep doing that?

What would make these people happy? For one of these players to leave, just so they could say 'told you so!'.

Please stop doom mongering about our best players. It was Reina yesterday and the Liverpool Echo has ridiculed that. With the right management, we are not very far away and just need 2 or 3 players who can make things happen. Plus, we have some great youngsters coming through - so lets be positive.

redmersey

Lovely,would be upset if he left best talent since torres..many more years would be good

Im already sick of PSG and the money they are spending. People probably dont even realise that they have already spent about £100 million on players last season (pastore etc) and now they are probably going to spend another £150 million on players, but hopefully not Suarez. They can never be a big team because, like Man City, they dont have history, which is something that money cant buy. All the players that go to PSG go for money, and i dont think Suarez is really like that, you can sense his loyalty to the LFC fans for supporting him through the Evra ordeal!

Why do "believe Suarez is open to the idea of a move?" Do you know him personally? Do you often share insightful chats about his future? Or are you just talking out of your arse?

Why would people want suarez to leave, he is an outstanding player & actually gives us something different in the team! We cant lose him

What is the point of selling a great player just to replace him with a player that may work out ok or may not.....as a club we should be looking to add great players not replace and thats what BR will be looking to do I'm sure
Jim22

I do not understand the so-called Liverpool supporters who want their top stars to go. How do you build a top team if you continually sell your top players. If such people are genuine Liverpool supporters then they must be complete idiots who haven't a clue of what success is all about. Do Real Madrid, Barcelona ever sell their top players? No. They sell rejects to those that lack ambition.

I am a true Liverpool supporter! I think Suarez is an amazing player, and i would love to keep him, But from what i have been told, Suarez may well go this summer.
I am not a so called 'doom monger'. I think with a few additions and some better luck on the pitch we will go far next season!

Red Lee

How these unsigned nonss wishes get posted whereas other wait for years to get their post here.

Arv {Ed022's Note - Oh don't talk out of your anus.}

Post about suarez leaving get most hits, most unbelievable hits, most replies. Still editors allow such nonss to get through. I am tired reading this too and know they are not posted by LFC fans.

Arvin {Ed022's Note - I can't seem to find my ability to give a crap.}

02 Jul 2012 19:23:26
Hi eds are we still monitoring vicosa the young brazilian? Also is South america a market we Seen to be scouring?

Thanks
Mighty reds {Ed002's Note - Vicosa was on of quite a number of South American's being looked at - Bernard was another. Remember that may players are looked at and whilst they may stay "on file" so to speak, it does not mean that anyone will follow up in the short term.}

Both quality players on FIFA.

Ed 002 thanks for your honesty i hope the bashers stay away. do you have any idea if we are following up on any of them at this time? no names needed just wondering.

maythe-Red-bewithyou {Ed002's Note - Not that I know of.}

I meant, is he partially owned or is he solely at one club?

BthekingB

02 Jul 2012 18:52:47
So the Bernard from Atletico Miniero would tie in with earlier rumours regarding the patron saint of hikers and mountaineers.

02 Jul 2012 18:50:47
Hi Eds, if we bought Vargas do you know if we would be buying him as a winger or a full back and as a first choice or rotation.

Thanks. {Ed002's Note - He would be a squad member.}

We don't need to specify a position, obviously he would be cover for both positions or be happy to play wherever asked.Fit and in form he would be a good signing but he is reportedly out of condition and out of form.

02 Jul 2012 18:34:17
We may be in for a player called Bernard from Atletico Mineiro. Creative midfielder with lots of skill but struggled to establish himself early in his career due to his lack of height (he's 5'4''). I know nothing else, just passing on what's journalist friend of mine has said.

Hmm, not saying you're wrong, but does your journalist friend read Wikipedia... and this site?

You've been guessing at the Chris from Tamworth clue, haven't you.

5'4 ! thats awesome i want him {Ed049's Note - ermm for what?}

Nothing to do with the code you worked out earlier then?

and why don't you sign it well informed mystery man?

He had an amazing assist against gremio, check it out.

I'm holding you responsible for this Ed002. lol.
RNred

Ha ha. Good build on previous Ed002 cryptic message. (at least I'm assuming this is the joke. If you're actually trying to sell this one to us then thats even funnier...)
Redzed

What a loser

This is probably untrue but would love it if he came :) the only skillful person in our team ATM is Suarez and he may be leaving!!

Dont think height shud hold any body back if they are good enough, them days r over just look at spains midfield, r going back a few years zola for instance made a mockery of coaches this part of europe who werent following up on players because of height.tommy Irish red.

I heard were signing Korean STRIKER Kim Jong-Un, it came from my good friend wiki

LFC would not get a work permit for Bernard as he not played enough international games

I have heard of a rumour linking us not to a Korean striker, but the Chinese goalscorer Ban Gwan-In as a way of appealing to the East Asian Market. Any news on this eds?

02 Jul 2012 18:14:56
ed non lfc but did juve really bid 8 million for van persie? {Ed002's Note - I doubt it.}

Its on espn that juventus have bid 10m euros,

I think his corner kicks are worth atleast 10 million alone.......

02 Jul 2012 18:13:17
Isla transfer confirmed by Juventus, another one to mark off the list

No mate, mark it off your list.

Yup, just your list pal.

Another one trying to be clever and ends up looking like a pratt.

Was it ever on the list? I recall a rumour, but what list are you talking about? Kenny's wish list?

02 Jul 2012 18:08:47
ed, are we looking at any left backs besides vargas(or even if vargas), because we need a backup as robinson could be going out on loan? thanks in advance {Ed002's Note - There is interest in Vargas.}

I hope to god we dont buy vargas iv herd 12million has been touted for him,hes gone well off the boil.hes well over weight aswelll and hes not even that that good.plays for peru for god sake,get a grip every body!

The fact that he plays for Peru means nothing one way or another.

His not a left back s he, i thought he played in midfield on the left

But is there any other left backs being looked at Ed? {Ed002's Note - NOne right now taht I am aware of.}

02 Jul 2012 17:58:03

Apparently Affelay has turned down the chance to join Lille.
His agent has said he would prefer a move to Italy or England.

He would be a great buy at 6-7 million and still only 26. Surely we will make an offer soon for him.

Jonesred

Did you not watch him in the euro's; he was awful

You can't judge a player on a three week tournament.

Jonesred

Im from denmark, and we had the pleasure of playing agaisnt hes country in the euros, so yes i have seen him play and Tbh, i thought he was pretty interesting great pase in hes game, while they played denmark, he got taken out, like early into second half, but truth be told they played worse after he was taken out, so i dont think we can use euros for much, in regards to evaluating his skill.

Why does everyone say like "only 26" i wouldnt really say that is young, i class young as like any age under 24/23 for a senior player.

02 Jul 2012 17:47:17
According to Eurosport decision imminent regarding sigurdsson... Let's just put an end to it all

Imminent as in when I've finished my tea?

Imminent as in a week most probly like the week b4 oh and yeah the week b4 that.hope he goes totenham we could spend that 7million on some1 like lacombe from gent or james mclean from sunderland

So they get Sig and we get Mclean? Priceless.

What did he decide to have for his tea, then?

02 Jul 2012 17:29:07
What would say is wrong with the following sentence?

Wigan want for 12m pounds for Victor Moses after Liverpool make an inquiry and Jordi Alba signs for Barcelona for 14m euros or about 11.5m pounds.

Karl

Brilliant post

Jordi Alba had ZERO interest in signing for us.... The only thing wrong with the sentence is you put in "for" when you didn't need it!

But lets not nit pick

What's wrong is inquiry is not a word

That, my friend, is a point very well made!

They play in different positions?
the first half of the second is paper gossip and the second half is fact?
the comparison is pointless?

It's Dave Whelan and premier league players are over valued, you should write that club a letter to point this out, I'm sure they have no idea.

Not bein funny like but 12million for victor mosses ....jesus you may aswell buy nilmar or rossi from villareal with that

Nothing. The higher the profile of the team the more the player will want to join, therefore the less the club has to offer to make the purchase. Also, Wigan can want a certain amount, doesn't mean that they will get it. They will obviously try to price the player out of a move, or get as much as they can for him. I take your point, it doesn't seem right, but you simply can't make those comparisons. What would you say is wrong with this - Barcelona release Jordi Alba for nothing then buy him back a few years later for 14m euros...?

1) Think of the difference in wages.
2) Wigan don't need to sell Moses whereas Valencia are in debt and Jordi Alba Wanted to leave.
3) English players are at a premium

HES not english no more hes Nigerian do shouldnt that decrease his value,hes not even that good,another diouf but hes got manners diouf hasnt!

Your grammar! ;)

With a name like moses, he'll need to part the Mersey before we pay £12m for him.
Lee73

I would say your currency exchange abilities and grammar

Alba had one year left on his contract that would mean 11.5 for a left back would be expensive - but what a player he is

English players are at a premium?? did u watch the euro's m8?

Overpriced - not good enough - young - inexperienced.

Jog on Wigan.

Everything, especially the first part!!

Valencia need the cash. Alba only wanted Barca. He only had 1 year left on his contract - hence the low price

Wigan do not want to sell so can hold out for a little extra. Also what "Wigan wants" isn't necessarily what Wigan gets!

It's not really relevant comparing 2 random transfer fees as there are so many factors that affect him. Anyway, what would be the difference in wages and also in agent's fees? Who knows, but it all has to be factored in

Gav

Chelsea say 4m
We say 12m.
Typical.

All the more galling when you consider the exchange rate.
With the money we spent last season we could own most of Spain....

"what would YOU say" and "wigan want 12m pounds FOR victor...."

02 Jul 2012 17:29:02
Ed002, what have you started? on Clube Atlético Mineiro player Bernards Wiki page someone has added he joined us yesterday for £12m as BR's first signing.
RNred

It doesnt say out like that prove it post the link?

Why has some person pressed unbelievable? whats wrong with people on here, I never said the transfer happened I said it was on the site. Now go and have a look you idiot.
RNred

Did Ed002 mention him with Liverpool? I ddint find from the search function

Ed002's secret post...

Yeah had a look theres nothing on there.post the link and then ill believe you!

No it dosent,sad lies

Just some clever ass playing around with Wiki again.

This I feel is pruely down to the new rule which if i'm right is due to come into play next season.
ED's - don't clubs have to have a certain amount fo home grown players in the squad. Hence the overpriced British players {Ed016's Note - Yes}

02 Jul 2012 16:57:21
Alonso set to leave Real Madrid according to Spanish Websites. I hope BR fancies him. Would be great to have a player like that back. Although if Joe Cole and Aquilani are to return there could be a congested midfield at Liverpool. Also read that Lisandro Lopez us a possibility as he is available. Turkish sides are in for him also. I really hope other reports linking Steven Davis, Mark Davies, Borini and Sigurdson are false. Not the quality of players we need surely.

Can not see this happening.
Madrid would be mad to lose Alonso.

FowlerGod.

He is opening negotiations for a new contract with REAL.

His current contract expires in 2014... No need for negotiations just yet

Classic case of head in arse original poster

Well, Sigurdsson ain't bad. But Mark & Steve Davies? Oh, dear. No way. That would be a big step backwards.

SUMON VAI

That would mean aquilani, adam and spearing are all gone!

Totally agree. A lot of the players lfc linked with are not good enough. They're below average players with inflated prices. Bring back Alonso, or bring in Ramirez not Davies or Moses. {Ed005's Note - The key word being "linked". People are incredibly silly if they believe the names that the Mirror toss about.}

02 Jul 2012 16:24:06
I hope i am wrong but i have been told that liverpool are in talks with PSG regarding a transfer of Suarez. Any news Ed's?
cheers!

Red Lee {Ed049's Note - I don't know, I for one would be gutted if he left as I just ordered a Liverpool shirt with Suarez' name on the back.}

If he doesnt leave this summer its only a matter of time before he does imo and good riddance hes an absolute donkey yes hes a good player but he has tarnished his whole career and you could get top money for him 30odd million which could be used on sturridge, Siggurdson and Sinclair

There is a offer around 40mill euros ive heard some1 say and it appers that its up to suarez if he wants to tlk to them or not as B.r said he would like to keep him

FSG has wanted to get rid of him since the incident. That incident has caused a lot of trouble with the club and investors etc with the new stadium. That's why a lot of things has stalled with the new investors putting their name on LFC. I think that it was a mistake and he deserves another chance. He is one of the best strikers in the world. FACT but unfortunately i can see him leaving, if not this summer within the next transfer window.

FowlerGod.

Are you serious? Them 3 players aren't even a thousandth of Suarez, he's amazing, without him we may as well just give up hope of finishing any higher than 14th.

Yeah he is rite about suarez in talks but its Not PSG its juventus!

Well if Juventus offered 10m Euro's for RVP, they must have offered us 5m for Suarez!

Ed, you may have to get that name changed to demba ba if what i have been told is true. I wouldn't mind him at Liverpool, but i am not 100% on this.

Red Lee

They wouldn't have him along side Stevie G as the main figures modeling the new kits if they were planning on selling him would they. Besides, why would he want to play in Italy or France anyway?

And I ve read BR will not sell Suarez. You must be from another planet or your living in the future. Welcome to 2012.

Arvin

Answers to post above.
Balotelli, nasri is worst than suarez,. will they be sold?
LFC is not famous for making money but for getting trophies. fame will follow. To get trophies we need man and not coward who fear SAF, Evra etc. Suarez is more than that he is the beast.

Arvin

Rumours are rodgers is going to use his links with mourinho to snap up nuri sahin

Rogers could not get sigursson that plays for him, and you aspect him to sing nuri sahin becose hi knows mourinho?

Nuri Sahin doesn't want to play in England which is the reason why Modric to Madrid has gone quiet because he was going to be part

Not going to happen as Liverpool do not appear to have much money if any this summer. Could be wrong hopefully I am not but early signs are not good.

The window is only open i repeat the window is only open twits with no patience on here.tommy Irish red.

Just wondering if there's any truth to the Clint Dempsey rumour that's floating about, or is it just because of what Werner said in an interview last month?

Personally thing he'd be a great addition to the squad...if we could shift joe cole and aquilani first.

Morritsey {Ed002's Note - As has been said before, there could be interest at the right price.}

My opinion this is not a top signing. Its not a signing for a team aspiring to break into the top 4. But if we are content to be a mid-table team then that's fine. We have too many average players and this rot needs to stop if we have any dreams of champions league.

Please say its not true , too old and not good enough

My god the man is almost 30 and were talking 10million please god no more of this

Hi eds!
I've just read and can't believe that Lacina Traore to Anzhi for 18mil euros? {Ed002's Note - Another one missed I guess.}

Not really cause he isn't very good, think the emphasis was more on the fact they paid so much for an average player.

Do we really have such an incompetent management? Why are they so indecisive, playing waiting games and missing out all the time, ending paying enormous sums of money for questionable quality players. I seriously doubt we'll do anything worthwhile during this transfer window.

^^^^ To the poster above me who shockingly enough didn't sign their name.
How do you know the management team was interested at all in Lacina Traore? Don't be so dismissive. Its July 2nd and these are the posts already. Have patience in the management team and most definitely in Brendan Rodgers.

BLANCO7

To be fair last season we overpaid enormously on a couple of players and they were wrapped up fairly early.

The club though get linked with loads of players and are only actually interested in a fraction of them. The whole we missed out stuff is ludicrous as he may not have even been a target.

How can you even think of this as a miss? Did we ever put a bid?

The transfer window has been open for 1 day and already people are panicking...please, let's just keep the faith and see what happens. If we don't get behind the management wholeheartedly we're going to have a Roy Hodgson situation all over again! This is gonna be a long, hard project I imagine, and it is of enormous importance that the fans be as supportive as possible until ample reason is given to argue that case. After all, the club isn't anything without the backing of it's fans right?

Another miserable so called fan.Stop moaning and give the guys a chance.Almost all new backroom staff,new manager and because he has not signed someone on day one you are whinging.

I think it's the 18m part he couldn't believe, not that we didn't get him!

And there was me thinking we all ran football clubs. Not one of us on here has a normal job like a sparky, plumber, sales person. No we are all defo out of work sh*t football managers! Lay off BR and FSG, last time I checked they were running the show in the right way. Not letting outside inflluence get in the way or clowd their judgement......they will do whats right for LFC. If you dont like it then lump it and if you cant do that go support Man City or Chelsea!

Ed002 I'm really distraught. What on earth are we doing missing out on all these players that no one has heard of. Liverpool management team should hang their heads in shame. Where is the master of transfers Rick Parry when you need him.

Dan

I would imagine ED002 Is being sarcastic...& rightly so.

Ed, Do you know when we can expect any announcment of the Sigurdsson saga? Today by any chance? Thanks

An Dun Red {Ed001's Note - if it is Spurs, I doubt they will want the deal to be formally confirmed before the 12th, when they launch their new kit. Otherwise they won't have the new kit for the player to be pictured in!}

Cant he just pose with the scarf instead

Who is better sig or gaston

Definitely Gaston Ramirez, but Sigurdsson is a talent with potential also. Haha to the first reply, with a woolly hat too?

Not sure why all of a sudden we are desperate for him. The fact that he is being let go by the German side has been overlooked and also that he was due to go to Swansea, not Man U or Arsenal or Chelsea. He's good at a certain level, but is he top class ?

Can he not sign now and put the top on come the 12th

Gaston is definitely not better than Sig. One has played in England for 3 and a half years and the other hasn't. One has set the premier league alight and the other hasn't. One would cost 7m where as the other 20m. Hmm........

02 Jul 2012 13:47:00
The Icelandic journo (brynjar ingi erluson), who suggested that Liverpool may be back in contention to sign Sigurdsson, has posted the following on Twitter:

According to Hoffenheim Gylfi's transfer will be completed at the end of the week. Unbelievable. They do not name the club. #SigurdssonSaga

Many tweets to him speculate that he's chosen Spurs, as the announcement would coincide with Levy returning to UK and (of course) AVB could be appointed at that time. He's keeping an open mind though and still believes Liverpool could be possible.

Either way, looks like this will run and run all week! :(

Calnadrak

To the point I no longer care... I really don't!

dd

What's your take on this ed's? Do you think he'll most likely end up at Spurs? Cheers Scouserseb {Ed049's Note - I still think it hangs in the balance.}

I am bored by this transfer. I don't care either way.

Saying that though i would have a guess at Spurs as the delay in the annoucement until after the new manager is named makes sense.

Spurs

Hope he does come to liverpool, although i cant see it myself.

He would only be backup to Van der Vaart anyway; he doesn't play in Modric's position, nor would he even want to.

If his father really is his agent then he should want the best for his son. So why is he even listening to Spurs's offer?

02 Jul 2012 13:40:50
Hi eds, yesterday on kop talk it statedliverpool have agreed a 20 million pound deal for Gaston Ramirez, 16 mil deal for Adam Johnson a apparently have enquired into Victor Moses and mark Davies. Any truth? Cheers Jme {Ed049's Note - Koptalk isn't a reliable source mate.}

Dunc hasn't a clue about anything except fast food and scamming people out of it. {Ed002's Note - He scams people for fast food - cool.}

You must be a member then, coz last time i checked the non members site was down and has been for some time.

Looks like he might have compiled that from recent rumours on this site? Repeat a rumour enough times it will become "nailed on".

No this wasnt reported on there and koptalk is far more reliable that the s**te spouted on here! {Ed049's Note - What up Duncan? it's nice to have you around.}

£20m is about £3.6m too much as his club want 20m euros for him which is around £16.4m

02 Jul 2012 12:54:19
liverpool to put a 10 million bid for euro 2012 sensation alba {Ed049's Note - He has already agreed to join Barcelona and will be unveiled as a Barcelona player on Wednesday.}

To**er. That's what you get for lying.

Divvy. If you're gonna make things up, you should really know about the player you're making stories up about.

What a fool

What an absolute whopper!!

- yea the barcelona thing is a smokescreen, that's what I heard.

Haha fail of the week

Stop making things up u plank!!

Don't understand why some people make complete s**te up and think you'll bite! I guarantee you the 1 person that finds this believable will be the person who wrote it

If u kept n touch with all the lastest news u wouldnt have to post lies mate.

As ed049 pointed out, he's agreed to join Barcelona and I think the fee was more in the region of £20m

Andy {Ed049's Note - 14million Euros}

You must feel a little bit silly now making blatant lies up.

Lol. Kids these days.

Definitely in the know.

I wonder what planet the provider of this rumour has been on for the duration of the Euro....... It has been mentioned 100s of time that he signed for Barca last week.
JRFRED

Out of ur mind

Thanks for confirming that ed049, cheaper than I thought, I'd read a figure of 21m banded about

Andy

Dream land sir, we all know where boy wonder is going......

This is the kinda sh!te that wrecks this site... why just make up random crap...?

They even mentioned that during the commentary of last nights game...., on many occasions.

Brainless person trying to stir up rubbish.Only sensible thing about the post was that it said he was a sensation which I would agree with.

Quality! post of the month lol

Coily

02 Jul 2012 12:03:11
HEY ed is there anything new with regards to belhanda is he expected to leave Montpelier? Thanks
LFCALLDAY {Ed049's Note - Nothing new at the moment but there is a good chance he'll leave Montpellier.}

02 Jul 2012 12:49:59
Hi ED's..... When do the team report back for pre season ? Nice one {Ed049's Note - 7th July}

When do the players who have taken part in the Euros and Olympics report back to Melwood?

LOL people putting believable/unbelievable for this one!

02 Jul 2012 09:58:23
Hi Ed's,

There were a few mentioned earlier in the season on Pool, City and co all interested in Derby's Mason Bennett, do you know if there is still any interest or if Derby are interested in selling?
Ta
Da {Ed002's Note - I know nothing of it. Sorry.}

02 Jul 2012 09:44:48
Hi ed, the times are saying that spurs have had a bid rejected for oscar. Do you know if we have any current interest in him? {Ed002's Note - Internacional's Oscar has the attention of Barcelona and Inter Milan but I am not aware of interest from Spurs - and am travelling and not able to look into it right now. Perhaps a little too early for a move this summer. I would be surprised if there were interest from Liverpool. His ownership was in a real tangle with Internacional and Sao Paulo fighting a legal battle over Oscar. Someone suggested that ownership had been resolved but Bertolucci made it clear there were on goining issues. In either case a move is most unlikely.}

02 Jul 2012 09:37:02

From twitter.

Napoli star Ezequiel Lavezzi (left) and his representatives met with PSG director Leonardo yesterday in a Paris hotel.

We wont be able to compete with PSG on money so please can we drop the poor rumours of Lavezzi and Cavani coming to LFC. It isn't going to happen in our current situation. I expect Liverpool to adopt the United plans on players buy them when they are a young and a risk rather then buying them at there peaks. {Ed049's Note - Some folks still won't give up.}

Also from twitter,
Like man u with scoles Liverpool are looking to pull rush, barns, an all out of retirement... Good times

Been saying this for months, pains me to say it but we need to adopt Fergies philosophy of the early 90's, create a foundation of style at u19 level and only bring in players who will recoup some funds if things dont work out (see Veron, Djemba Djemba as examples)...great work ed's.

Not sure than Veron or Djemba Djemba can be used as an example of anything we'd want to follow.

Nico here, I've recently came back to the United Kingdom, specifically Wales to see family, friends etc. I was talking to my Auntie who's daughter goes to the same school as Craig Bellamys youngest child. Anyway, my auntie knows Craigs wife quite well and has met Craig on a few other occasions when he's been back in Ely, (Cardiff) for Coffees etc etc (his family still live in Wales). I asked about all the recent speculation and if she had heard anything regarding Craig coming back to Cardiff. I was told he is open to the move but it would mainly be for his family, as he is often away during the weeks (during the season) and its just hassle going back and forth to Liverpool every week. Also Cardiff DO want him back, but it's mainly because he can be used as a sort of 'poster boy' for the clubs rebranding so to speak, as he is a local lad blah blah blah.

As of right now she said they're sorting it out between them and deciding whether or not it's worth him playing another season for us, Craig seems to be in two minds on it, also it's likely he'd at least stay another season for us because Warrior have practically made him the 'poster boy', to use that cliche again, for their new kits what with the Singapore trip etc.

It's one that is likely to be sorted toward the end of the summer I'd say. I'll see if I can get anything else and let everyone know. From where I'm standing it looks like he'll stay for one more season.

Nico

Ok buddy.we believe you

Was speaking to a reporter who seems pretty sure that Bellamy is desparate to go back to Cardiff. However he set up that trust fund in Africa when at Man City, and he is finicially committed to it and needs to retain his earning he currently on. Cardiff simply can not afford to do that. So he will stay at LFC for another year

I reckon this is true.

Dorset Red

Don't have to believe me, I'm not here for credit like most people. I'm just passing on what Ive heard. This is concrete info. It's all up in the air at the moment like I've said.

Nico

Why would he go to Ely? His house is in the vale near wenvoe. I know its not too far away but still...

CB39 Cardiff bound.

02 Jul 2012 09:23:49
liverpool to put in shock bid for man city's CB J.lescott

Shock..?? WOW...

LFC and BR want to play out from defence , so need a defender who can pass out from the back , i dont think lescott is able to do this , he is a big lump , not a ball playing silky defender

What's sh

What's shocking is the number of ridiculous rumours that are coming out from nowhere :/

What is a shock bid?

Great signing

Not that shocking it was reported in all the papers over a week ago

02 Jul 2012 09:10:07
"Italian journalist, Enzo Misuraca has confirmed Liverpool have had a bid accepted for Stevan Jovetić. Fee around £22m. #LFC"

Eds, Any info on the same? Is there any truth in the news above?

Regards,

Ashish (fan from India) {Ed049's Note - it is not true}

Enzo actually says there is no truth to the rumours about Ramirez and jovetic.

I checked him out on Twitter and there was nothing on there about it; neither is there a story on the website he writes for. I've tweeted him and will report back if he responds

@calnadrak

Nonsense

This was a tweet created by someone called 'formidable red' he posted straight after it was a lie and that he wants to see how big a made up rumour could get.

When you cck the internet he is an Udinese correspondant and is not very accurate!

02 Jul 2012 08:53:02
Fulham want £10million for Clint Dempsey and Liverpool are tempted.
i think he be a great signing for us

Maybe straight swap for adam who they are linked to Tommy Irish Red.

Swapping Dempsey for Adam could be a good deal for both clubs. Fulham allowed Murphy to go and would need someone for midfield. It's pretty clear Adam will struggle to get into the starting lineup for us next season, but Dempsey would be a great back up for our forwards

02 Jul 2012 08:50:41
Caught Offside reporting that the deal for Gaston Ramirez already done at £20m, as are Daily Express. Various web sites also claiming that LFC have at least tabled a bid - hopefully they are correct and LFC have bought a young, technically gifted player that they badly need

Please dont take anything on caughtoffside as gospel. that page has morelinks than mr ts chains. all bs.

People WILL believe what they want to believe. Singred

It only takes one paper or web site to mention something and it is world wide within minutes.
Any WUM can get something going which is why I will wait until something appears on the LFC web site before I get excited. {Ed001's Note - that's true, I mean AVB was rank outsider for the Spurs job until I mentioned on their site I had been told on good authority he was the first choice. Within hours it was everywhere and the bookies installed him as favourite, Sly had completely changed their tack and were talking about how their 'sources' had said he was favourite etc. It literally does just take one post to turn it all on its head, especially if it is something people want to believe.}

Too true, Ed001, I can't help feeling that the "source" many journalists claim to have is this website! The same goes for some of the posters - someone reads something on here, tells a friend that they've heard something from a "good source", the next thing you know the friend is on here telling us he's heard the a rumour from a reliable source!

02 Jul 2012 07:07:15
now with the euros over BR can make his move for Fernando Llorente Torres

I want him back! Noone can deny what a great player he was! He may not be as fast, but we need someone like him. Straight swap for Carroll. I'd be delighted! {Ed049's Note - he is talking about Llorente, one who plays for Bilbao.}

For what.?

Will you give it over and stay away from the wacky tobakee

Yep the 6f5" from bilbao,we tried to sign a few years back,at 27 FLT had the season of his life last term,and with less than a year left to run on his contract,he and Bilao are looking to cash in!BR will open the bidding at £20m.

I want him back, we got a good price for him let it go we have moved on by now he has. fair play good to c him scoring last night.

He is on about Fernando Liorente and Liorente's last name is Torres but he doesn't use it.

JW {Ed049's Note - it's Llorente not Liorente}

I would think he would cost more than that ! Given that they can only pick players from the Basque area or players who are decended from people born in that area,so if they sell him who do they replace him with ? The population of the Basque region is 3 million,I think what they done last season was amazing given all these restrictions

Yes it would be great to have him 'back' Lol. just shows how many fans havn't got a clue.
Red Lee

REPLACMENT for FLT is Bibao's problem,and it's one that they will face up to this year,with a £20 + million fee,or next year when he walks on a free!!

It doesnt take away from the fact he thought he was taiking about our former player so liorente is not what i answered back about to the first reply on this post.Tommy Irish Red.

I hope but do not thing we will sign Llorente. Mainly as we can all insist he starts using Torres so we can all wear our redundant Torres No 9 shirts again. I have a Spain one I can't bring myself to wear, but can't get rid, as I am tight git

I'd welcome that move if he's wearing Torres on the back. i'd not need to trash my shirts :)

02 Jul 2012 06:51:18
Ed002, if you are around, has Diego Lugano moved to River Plate? I understand this is not LFC related. Sorry.

AG {Ed002's Note - Not yet.}

Well at least there won't be anymore uraguayin influence in PSG to persuade Suarez to go there.

02 Jul 2012 00:42:25
{Ed002's Note - This is not to be read by anyone but Chris in Tamworth - it is a secret message and a not insignificant clue. The the patron saint of skiing, hiking and mountaineering.}

Bernard of Menthon? Huh? :s

Oops I read it, sorry

Haha umm............is your gift basket on the way ed?
KiwiRed

Yeah! Me too

Why would you even put its not to be read by anyone obviously everyone's gonna read it {Ed049's Note - sarcasm is for winners}

St. Bernard?

And people still click the unbelievable button

Is icelandic?

So we have signed Ramirez?:)

St. Bernard?

Are liverpool signing a dog?

QUICK SLATE ED002 FOR WRITING IN CODE! JLFC

Bernard of Menthon ? WTF ed

Ed002. I know I suggested the secret "fish" code to you and Chris from T...but now you have evolved it to obscure Savoyards.

I have spent the night on the enigma decoder and have gathered that Liverpool are interested in a young halibut from South America whose specialty is tartiflette. Surely some mistake?

ProfG

Is this news about signing a player?? Or just banter?? :/

Cheers ed,as my Enigma machine has decoded your msg,....3.--.top.---.players...-in...!

Don't menthon it.

It's a very clever code, but with the use of Wikipedia i've managed to decode it.

St. Bernard was fro Savoy region of France, who's capital is Chambery, which is twinned with Turin, where Juventus is from, which means we are signing Pirlo, Matri, Krasic or Giovinco.

Simple really......

I just find it incredible that people are clicking believable or not!

Who are those 3 players?? :) ????

Are we signing Bernard Mendy? He is 30 years old though

Wait a minute... Robbie Fowler's middle name is Bernard...
It must mean something!
/dramatic music

Is this to do with places or ppl? im rattling my brain lol places are switzerland france rome italy and the alps n ppl only 1 i could find was his mentor peter am i anywere near ed?lol CRAIG

Its bendtner you fools, and its a load of bo...x

Ed002, Is it anything to do with a player from Evian?

Disney!

Suarez to juventus

Does this mean we are signing someone Andorran?

02 Jul 2012 00:34:00
eds, answer me this please. why do poeple post on here that were gona sign swansea players. 4 example, 2day i read about joe allen to make the move and now just read sinclair is to be reunited witi rodgers. how is this possible? if there like a grey area in the contract that if a player wants out then rodgers is ok 2 bid?
cheers, smithy {Ed002's Note - I have little or no control over what folks write Smithy. If we asked for an accompanying rationale with every post then it may take a while to assess them.}

Brandon Rodgers is a manager with little or no real ideas of his own and him stealing Sinclair would be a decent made up roumour by some here. Swansea have a agreement with lfc over transfers of their players so I don't think it will happen.

Brandon Rodgers has done very little in his managerial career and people want to know who he will sign first. He went after sigg and fail. {Ed049's Note -

02 Jul 2012 00:02:42
Just heard Liverpool to sign Lisandro Lopez
For £8.5m ...? Do any of the eds know anything
About this?

Red rockett {Ed002's Note - He is nearing 30 I guess and to the best of my recollection has two Turkish sides (Galatasaray and (I think) Bursaspor tugging away at him.}

Tugging away at him? Are we to expect a climax in this transfer saga soon? Or will this be a prolonged one?

Sorry for bad pun.

They're tugging him? Inappropriate of them.

Am sure it will cum to a climax wit the two tuggin at him :-)))) {Ed049's Note - cum?}

Bad jokes aside, Lopez is a very good player. Reasonably quick, good finisher, and even though he's only about 5'9'', he's built like a brick she*phouse, so he can put himself about.

But at his age unless we're picking him up cheap, I don't see it happening.
