Question for Ed002. Does Liverpool have any interest in Dani Olmo. Croatian media claim they do. Just a reminder, Dani Olmo was Barcelona u16 and Spain captain, but he hada clause Dinamo Zagreb triggered, and he moved bcos he wanted senior football. It was excellent decision for him as he is currently best player in croatian league and a joy to watch. He iscreative midfielder (for me best at 10).

{Ed002's Note - Dinamo Zagreb are happy to profiteer over the transfer of Dani Olmo with interest from Borussia Dortmund, Crystal Palace, Cagliari and most noticably Milan. I am not aware of any interest from Liverpool at all.}

Now harry is going to watch every dinamo game and become an expert on this player.

Dianamo Zegreb has produced some of the best midfielders of our time. From Modric to Coric! Truly gifted Croatians!

How ya Ed hope your ok mate? Ed002 have you heard any rumbling's transfer wise about Liverpool in January?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Nothing explicitly about January Barry, but I have explained elsewhere that the club has been showing some interest in players.}

Ok thanks a million Ed👍.

Did someone say transfers?!?

Eds, after our significant spend in the summer and lack of outgoings do you expect to see only outgoings in January?

And in terms of next summer, what areas do you expect us to look to strengthen/ update?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I cannot predict the timing of transfers but across the board there does seem to be a swell of clubs looking to do business in January, but I am not so sure Liverpool are one of those. Regardless, the club has looked at Ruben Dias - the Benfica CB - on several occasions and watched him in a national game against Croatia in September, but with Gomez emerging it would make little sense for the player to move somewhere he will be no more than noise in the squad. As I have said already, the club has returned to watch Diego Laxalt (LM) - and that makes sense as the club could do with adding a specialist player there. What makes less sense is the club considering someone for CM at this time with the surprising interest in Aaron Ramsey and the club taking a look at Nicolo Barella (who looks to be heading elsewhere). Obviously scouts will continue to attend games and report back on players, and I suspect interest in the Mexican kiddie Diego Lainez (LW).}

Well Ed002 I can hardly be classed as your biggest fan (I highly doubt you lose any sleep over that) but can I just say your last few replies have been a joy to read! Long may it continue!

{Ed002's Note - You are very sweet.}

Wow thanks Ed! What a response. I thought Laxalt was one of Uruguay's best performers (along with Bentancur and Cavani) in the summer. Agree on the Ramsey and Dias links lacking sense. As for Lainez, will look him up! Thanks again!

See how nice Ed002 is when he’s not asked silly questions all the time! That said I bet some have been filtered out. 😂.

Laxalt is primarily a left mid but can play left back right? Can see him in for Moreno?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - No, he played LB in the World Cup but that would not be what the club are interested in.}

03 Oct 2018 12:34:12
Not that it means much nowadays, but hasn't Laxalt literally just signed for Milan in the summer?

Morning Ed's,

I have to ask as I take your words as gospel.

Is there any truth to the Ramsey to LFC rumours? Or are the papers just creating headlines

Thanks Ed's.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - What I understand the situation to be is that Arsenal had reached a general agreement with Aaron Ramsey and his agent for a new contract but concerns were expressed about his "comportement" so a new deal is on hold but might yet be possible. Right now the two players that Unai Emery thinks about as possible central midfield replacements seem very unlikely options to the person I spoke with so it is unclear where this might end up. In terms of interest: Liverpool yes, and they would provide the best financial solution for the player. Juventus have at least four options in front of him so not right now. Milan yes they are interested - they have targets ahead of him but one is unaffordable at this time and attracting attention from elsewhere; the others are free agents in the summer but one is looking to head elsewhere and the other is Cesc Fabregas. I do not know of interest from Spain but, like Italy, wages would be an issue. Do not be surprised by interest coming from other English sides at some point.

It is good to have a question about transfers.}

Thanks for that ed2, impressed as always with the level of detail.
Question (for the group really but will be cool if ed2 can add) - if/ when Ramsay at pool, who is it likely instead of?
Of the top of my head I count Milner (age) and Gini (? ) .
Any thoughts?

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool priced Wijnaldum out of a move in the summer but he has become a starter - whether he remains so when Fabinho settles we will see. Against Milner is his age and a thought that he might look to move on when his contract runs out in the summer.}

02 Oct 2018 12:05:19
Cheers Ed002 always appreciate the info.

His injury record is worrying for the wages he'd be on, but I can see how it might be tempting for the club with him being out of contract. I'd be curious to see how he'd fair in Italy. Also in regard to our midfield, we still have the Ox to come back as well.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I would agree that the muscle injuries would have to be taken in to account but there is some interest. I will admit I am rather surprised about the interest from Liverpool. Whilst Juventus have other priorities it should be remembered that they are going to have a pretty major reshuffle at board level later this month and there might well be some rethinking about the midfield plans they have at the moment - which could well see a glance back in Ramsey's direction.}

02 Oct 2018 12:23:17
I imagine Lallana will be leaving the squad as well as a couple of others in offensive positions so there might be a bit of space for him to squeeze into the squad.

I think we'll have to see how the season progresses though and what happens with someone like Gini, if he slips back into his previous inconsistency then perhaps he will leave and they'll be room for Ramsey.

I think Ramsey is a decent player and certainly could be worthwhile bringing in on a free transfer at the end of the season, I think we'll need to see how our current crop of midfielders get on though over the season and whether Ramsey would actually be an upgrade.

Great to here some transfer news ed. Tbh its been a while that anyone has even asked about them. I do agree though that Ramsey is a strange one.

Apologies if I should be taking this rumour with a pinch of salt, but with Rabiot’s contract expiring next season I have read we are looking at him?

Is this true or is it putting 1+1 = a tree.
