Reading now that mane had tested positive for C.V.. Any confirmation here eds?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - its a story that seems to be gathering pace Bmena, he is not the first and wont be the last mate if its true, i imagine it will effect a lot of clubs mate over the next few months..

03 Oct 2020 06:15:41
Does anyone know how many players must test positive, then they have to cancel a game?

03 Oct 2020 06:47:20
I think the season will end up cancelled. It will end up ripping through squads. Wishing Mane a speedy recovery and pray he and family stay well.

Agree3 Disagree0

{Ed0666's Note - yes I agree speedy and safe recovery to our Senegalese scouse lion.

03 Oct 2020 13:48:18
Maybe teams will try keep a bigger squad to cope with C.V. this season we have a midfielder left full and winger out with it already with a tough game coming against villa tomorrow.

04 Oct 2020 00:00:20
If we don't see it spread throughout the squad I wouldn't be too worried, they can recover quickly and not likely face much time out. It may help the members of the team being more aware and cautious towards contact with others possibly putting them at risk. I really hope we don't see the virus spreading throughout the football world to force shutdowns again.

Mane has tested positive for C.V.. Let's hope it's mild and he makes a good recovery. Hopefully its not spreading through the squad and their families.

Mane out for Sunday. Tests positive for C.V.

Just hearing a rumour in a proper old school way, that my mate knows a groundsman who is satin Mane and Trent have both tested positive for C.V.. Like I say old school rumour so no idea if it’s true. Anyone heard anything similar?

No where from?

I doubt that. TAA trained earlier today.

Mane just been confirmed by the club, will miss the game against Villa.

02 Oct 2020 22:09:08
It’s Mane according to BBC.

02 Oct 2020 22:12:28
Welp. Mane self-isolation confirmed.

02 Oct 2020 22:42:41
Let's look at the positives, he'll be back for the Everton game.

Agree3 Disagree0

02 Oct 2020 23:17:24
I doubt he’ll be back for the Everton game. He’s isolating for 2 weeks, no training, ill. He’ll have to work his fitness up and we have a squad to cover him. We don’t really mind what games he misses, just wish him well.

Agree4 Disagree0

03 Oct 2020 08:03:38
Barnsey, he’s missing the international break so could argue he may come back fresher then those that have been all over the world. He will still be doing the basics at home, I’d be amazed if he doesn’t have a gym. And come back just as the other return from internationals so I reckon he will be in contention at least.

As for these internationals why we having them? There is a C.V. going on so scrap them imo, allow the domestic season to be shorter then have an extended international period at the end of the season when hopefully we out of the worst of it.

Agree2 Disagree0

03 Oct 2020 11:04:29
You could be right, personally I don't think he'll play. Maybe as a sub? Hopefully it affects him mildly like most people under the age of 30 and his game fitness doesn't drop. Remember the gap between last season and this was a similar timeframe and a lot of players looked leggy.

I hope we don't rush him, Everton or Ebbsfleet the player's health matters more than the opposition and challenge can also drain your energy levels. He's a player that always seems sharp but I'd rather we played Jota if there's any doubt, it's why we bought him. All we can do is wait and hope I suppose.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Oct 2020 11:20:18
I agree with that barnsey their health/ fitness must come first.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Oct 2020 11:33:51
Yep, speedy easy recovery, Sadio. Gives Jota a chance.
Really makes me think that keeping a few of these players that Liverpool are trying to sell could be beneficial over the season. Specifically Shaqiri and Origi I'd like to see stay and play as well as perhaps Phillips, if no new CB comes in.

Hopefully the income from Brewster, Grujic and Wilson will be enough to balance the books, for now.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Phillips is staying as he is injured.}

03 Oct 2020 11:51:29
Shame about Phillips, deserves to go out and get regular minutes!

Some rumours going around that Mane and TAA have tested positive for C.V.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

03 Oct 2020 09:38:45
The rumor about TAA is not simultaneous with Mane. Supposedly, TAA and Origi were two who tested positive earlier and that is why they were not in Austria preseason.

Brewster to Sheffield done. 23.5 million with buy back clause after 3 years and 15 percent sell on clause. Good business.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

02 Oct 2020 19:59:04
If I read it correctly, the buyback is active for 3 years and then expires. Its not after 3 years ^_^.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - That would be more likely.}

02 Oct 2020 20:29:35
Well read mate, I think u are right. Either way, good deal for all.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Oct 2020 21:08:14
Buyback shmyback.

Once in history did LFC "buy back" a player, and he was the greatest striker in the club's history.

Brewster will almost certainly never play for LFC again.

Red67 can you tell me when we're signing Mbappe with that crystal ball of yours?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Another Chelsea reject.}

03 Oct 2020 03:15:45
Red67 rush.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Oct 2020 07:11:27
Is it Rush, or Fowler?
Or Bellamy?

All three had 2 spells at the club.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Oct 2020 07:13:52
No crystal ball, I'm afraid. I would have made a few billion and bought the club.

But I do remember seeing photos of Brewster getting his haircut and what-not with a Champions League medal around his neck, and thinking: "Wow, this kid thinks he's already made it! Not a good sign"

And sure enough, 16 months later, he is a Sheffield United player.

Time and effort Klopp and co. invest to train him is time they cannot invest in Jota, a Sarr, or a Doku. Economists call it opportunity cost; Billy Beane calls it WAR (wins against replacement) . In simple terms: is this guy the best use of our valuable time? Clearly, they decided no.

I think Brewster has the potential to be a lethal striker, though. Hence the fee. But he needs to play every week, and he needs a coach who is a disciplinarian, and for whom it makes sense to invest the time. Hence Chris Wilder.

As we are repeatedly told: it's not the most talented who make it to the very top, but the most trainable.

Agree1 Disagree0

03 Oct 2020 10:37:39
He will be a success at Sheffield. Unfortunate that we can't find time for him, but understandable. Love to see Rhian back one day. Who knows?

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Oct 2020 11:05:43
So it's likely Brewster, Shaqiri, Grujic and Wilson leave raising some much needed funds. Still time to get a CB I hoping with the money raised? Unless the money raised just covers Jota and Thiago 🤔.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

02 Oct 2020 11:08:27
Thiago and Jota were covered by Hoever wernt they? Because the way we structured the deals it meant we paid in installments.

Agree5 Disagree0

02 Oct 2020 11:33:04
I’m not sure Adamski tbh mate, I think it’s good we are finally getting fringe players out the door and off the wage bill. Remember that Lovren and Lallana have already left I just hope we make a final push for a CB as we are shot in numbers back there.

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Oct 2020 12:27:05
I wouldn't use the past-tense there, adamski. We are and will continue to be paying in installments for the next 5 years. Hopefully our shiny new sports cars are worth it LOL.

Agree2 Disagree0

02 Oct 2020 13:01:59
I don’t think the hoever money will cover Jota the most expensive attacker we’ve ever bought!

Agree5 Disagree0

02 Oct 2020 15:50:34
Surely, if we're paying in instalments for Jota, Wolves will also be paying in instalments for Hoever. I can't see why they'd agree otherwise.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - The first payment for DJ came from the KH money as a deduction on price.}

02 Oct 2020 16:06:03
Burnley pull back from Wilson?
Southampton pull back from Grujic?

Personally I think Liverpool are mad not taking the 12m for Wilson, if the rumoured figure is correct!

Agree3 Disagree0

02 Oct 2020 10:35:07
Is it true Southampton and West Ham want Grujic.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Certainly Southampton have now expressed an interest but the player wants to return to Berlin - but they say the price is too high. Borussia Muenchengladbach may offer a solution. West Ham would need to sell or ask for a loan.}

02 Oct 2020 12:53:48
He is a very good player. I think we will be missing a trick if we let him go. I know the club need the money but holding onto him could save us a fortune in the future.

Agree5 Disagree0

02 Oct 2020 14:41:52
Let him go to the hammers on loan he may get game time and it be good for him rice will go to Chelsea to free up the space.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool has no intention of letting him leave on loan - otherwise he would go where he wants.}

02 Oct 2020 16:08:40
Just keep him.
This lad is going to turn into an excellent midfielder. There was a reason Jurgen brought him in as a young lad and he didn't just bring him in he convinced him to come.
I'm hoping nobody meets his price and he stays and I feel, from what the Eds say, this is what Klopp wants too.

Agree2 Disagree0

02 Oct 2020 16:26:43
His transfer was agreed before Klopp ever became boss.

Brewster offers from Shef utd Fulham and Cystal palace.
H. WILSON burley
Gurjic goadbach and hertha berlin . ?

Ed's any other player heading out?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Possibly Shaqiri and some fringe players.}

02 Oct 2020 09:13:14
Brewster off to Sheffield Utd. Looks a good deal for all parties.
If we can get Wilson, Shaq and Grujic off the books as well, maybe a CB can come in (the thought of VVD getting injured gives me nightmares)
