Ed2 Nat Phillip's to Bristol City do see us getting a fee? Or another loan?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - It would be a sale I would think.}

02 Sep 2020 15:38:27
Thanks.

I think he is getting to an age where he needs to be at a club playing regularly rather than loans each year.

If he goes I wish him all the best, has always been an exemplary professional.

yes at 23 the lads needs to be playing i read blackburn but good luck wherever he ends up. Im sure we will get a few million as edwards is a genius at these things.

Surely if he leaves we have too get cover at cb.

Thiago will hopefully replace Wijnaldum. When we move on Wilson, Grujic, Philipps, maybe Shaqiri and Origi too we'll have some € for a CB.

03 Sep 2020 07:58:11
If we sell Origi and Shaqiri we’re going to need to bring in some additional cover up front too as it’s a ridiculous workload to place on Mané, Salah and Firmino otherwise, notwithstanding any potential injuries to them. The sales of Wijnaldum, Grujic, Wilson, Origi and Shaqiri aren’t going to generate anywhere near enough to cover the cost of Thiago, as well as a centre back and a forward of any kind of decent quality. It will be bargain basement stuff. We’d be lucky to get £10m for each of Shaqiri, Wilson, Grujic and Origi because potential buyers are hardly queuing up for them, I can see a situation where we sell all these players and leave ourselves short for next season because we still can’t afford to bring anyone decent in.

We sold Solanke for £19 mill and Lovren for £10 mill 6 Times. I am sure we shall make decent money from the 4.

@6Times

There is no way all those players are sold under the circumstances you mentioned. Klopp and the decision-makers aren't idiots.

Hi eds, As stated funds are required to purchase players. Seems like it is taking an age for any bids to come in for the players we have up for sale. An updates. the two main being harry Wilson and grucic. Thanks.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Leeds were keen on Wilson but the asking price is seen as too high. Liverpool could look to getting a WP for Grujic as they have failed to be open to discussing his departure with any interested sides.}

02 Sep 2020 15:47:36
Ed, if we have only enough money after sales to buy a CB or Thiago which is Klopp more fixed on getting.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Clearly Thiago is his priority.}

02 Sep 2020 16:11:50
Thanks ed.

It really sucks to be poor. 😩.

02 Sep 2020 17:23:13
Do you think Klopp will look to use the young centre backs Ed as Lovrens replacement then?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - that is why we brought them in.}

02 Sep 2020 17:46:32
Ed1 Klopp seems to be giving Billy K a good chance during pre season do you see him involved in the squad, looks like he's got a big future, no pun intended.

Hope you and the family are well!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - it depends on if he continues to impress. If he does I would expect him to get cup matches at least.}

02 Sep 2020 17:55:27
Have we changed our stance and are now looking to keep Grujic?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - not sure it is a change of stance, we loaned him out last season to get game time not to get rid of him.}

02 Sep 2020 19:21:47
Ed1
Would you not be a bit worried going into next season with just VVD, Gomez and Matip as senior CBs given that Matip struggles to keep fit and firing for a significant stretch and next season being even more congested.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - no, not in the slightest.}

02 Sep 2020 19:36:32
There is no way Klopp will risk the young CB's for 4th choice and obviously we will buy someone. Hogan said money is there if need be only we have to be sustainable.
Its a big game, being dragged/ played out to get prices down or up.
I could still even see Carlos joining. Thiago is a replacement, but CB was the priority, and will continue to be.

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Sep 2020 19:47:24
Fabinho can play there as well as the 2young CB‘S we have.

02 Sep 2020 18:29:40
He would obviously need his WP sorting Ed won’t he If he is an option in the squad this season mate, and if he is an option would this likely impact Thiago or not related?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I would use Grujic rather than move for Thiago. He is a lot better than the Liverpool fans seeem to recognise, but there is a chance Klopp cannot see how to use him with the pressing game that is played - but I would argue the same with Thiago. But as he is a potential leaver Grujic is being trashed like Wijnaldum is now on the site.}

02 Sep 2020 20:42:37
There are good reports regarding Grujic Ed002, I’ve not seen much of him to be honest.

Regarding Thiago, there are those that say he would be a brilliant addition, others not - again, not seen much of him other than the CL final and when Bayern came to Anfield to which he was solid in midfield .

Who knows.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Thiago has been a great player but would he disrupt the midfield moving to Liverpool, are injuries an issue, can he press etc..}

02 Sep 2020 20:47:03
The irony of all this is that Wijnaldum will probably go to Barca, eventually Grujic will leave, and by the time that enough pennies have been cobbled together to buy Thiago, he’ll have agreed a move elsewhere.

64 million dollar questions Ed002.

I know Gini still has a tendency go missing at times but he’s a great option for us, I’d rather keep him personally.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I am sure the consideration of disruption has been discussed.}

I agree with Ed002 100%, not that he needs my validation.

Ed002 - Making room for both Thiago and Grujic might be the solution after all. Which could mean selling Gini and allowing Milner to move to his childhood club. (assuming there is interest from Leeds) . Pure speculation on my part of course. But it would make sense in my opinion.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I am not sure that there is any plan for Milner to leave.}

03 Sep 2020 07:51:24
In order to evolve our tactics, we need some different cogs in the machine and Thiago is one of those. His passing is masterly and he is amazing in tight spaces. Our results since Watford have been down to our tactics being countered +predictability, and i honestly believe that Thiago will help no end in that respect. How would Grujic change anything? Its not about weather he's good enough as he clearly is.
Thiago tackles, passes and creates, and would offer a lot more creatively than Gini.

03 Sep 2020 11:55:10
Gini has been world class for LFC, and I for one would be very sad to see him leave LFC. I hope we also get Thiago, but financially may not be feasible. but if Gini stays I would be more than happy as he is an integral part of Klopps tactics and he knows the system to play. He is a tremendous footballer and I hope he stays.

03 Sep 2020 21:02:00
I personally don’t see the point in signing Thiago at 29 I’d rather keep gini and Give grujic A chance.

02 Sep 2020 14:57:37
Ed002 - Any update on Diego Carlos? Is LFC still after him? I understand that we do not have the funds right now to do a deal, so my question is whether player is waiting for LFC to generate revenue from sales? Or is Man City now key to acquire his services? (in which case he will surely move there) . thanks in advance.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - There is interest in him from other sides, Manchester City being one. Liverpool are not currently in a position to consider him further as they simply don't have the money but he was vey much Klopp's choice.}

02 Sep 2020 15:28:40
Cheers Ed002 for the response. If funds could get raised through sales would the club come back and visit buying him or is it a situation where no matter what we can't afford him.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I would not hold your breath.}

03 Sep 2020 02:30:26
How can Liverpool be so skint compared to other teams they are champions and it's getting embarrassing the lack of transfer activity this is reason why they won't retain title got to top now resting on laurels very poorly run.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed0666's Note - RTFP mate

stiv, setting aside your awful English, wtf?
It's baffling that you and some other fans are so negative about our prospects if we don't spend 200 million on players we don't really need.
Are you (and others like you) seriously suggesting that the same squad (minus Lovren + Tsimikas) that won 99 points last season is doomed to be runners-up or worse?

Hi Eds
I read we have been watching eduardo camavinga. He looks a serious talent. Any truth in this? Thanks.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - There is no chance of him joining Liverpool. His future is already mapped out.}

02 Sep 2020 14:30:49
Pretty sure he's headed to Real Madrid in 2021 along with Mbappe.

Ed's any truth in that Barcelona and Liverpool are close to agreeing a fee for Gini?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

02 Sep 2020 07:50:24
I read yesterday that Barcelona had not approached us regarding Gini so this can’t be true.

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Sep 2020 08:32:15
I heard that Barcelona has agreed terms with Gini on a three year contract, but nothing with us as yet, but that they were going to offer around €20m. I can see it happening as there’s no movement on the contract renewal front. Difficulty is replacing him as I’m not seeing anyone in the squad that just slots in and gives us what he does. The thing that really disturbs me is if Messi goes and Barcelona come after Mane, then we’re really up sh*t creek without a paddle.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Sep 2020 08:48:20
Well with DVB seemingly off to UTD (IMO an excellent addition) Barcelona will sign Wijnaldum from us.

Agree2 Disagree0

02 Sep 2020 09:55:26
If he wants to go the let him go no one not even messi is bigger that the club when one door closes then another one opens rush left then we had barnes beardsley and Aldridge and so on we will still survive no matter what we are still a club people want to play for all over the world.

Have to agree really like Van Der Beek. Think he would suit our system very well. Oh well I trust the club fully still.
