Good day to you!

Kevin Palmer (reasonably respected Irish journalist) has published an article suggesting two things Ed2,

Firstly, Lfc are in discussion with Brighton regarding the sale of Yves Bissouma for a few of approximately £30million etc.

Secondly, Lfc will be looking to offload Naby Keita this summer.

I’m firstly just making you aware of this publication and secondly seeking your thoughts on whether Lfc will/ are seek to purchase Bissouma?

Regards

Niall.

{Ed002's Note - (a) I am not aware of discussions but he is a player Liverpool are intereted in. (b) As I have explained. Naby Keita (CM) The player has been nothing but trouble since he first agreed the move and spent a final year at RBL. He has not adapted in England and has failed to perform consistently when given the chance. Liverpool need to cut their losses but it will be difficult to find a buyer at a reasonable price and not all countries would be willing to grant him a Work Permit. A loan to buy might be possible.}

30 Apr 2021 22:11:23
Bissouma is a must to replace gini but also we desperately need creativity and goals from midfield, curtis jones can help this but we need more, dare I say a Bruno fernandes type who I wanted an we should of got. Trent needs solid competition as does robbo all top 4 have this we don't. Its obvious we need a change up front an if Bobby an mane left I wudnt be surprised. All of the above is important plus a defender or 2 . I would say this is a rebuild an fxxk knows where the dosh is coming from .

{Ed0666's Note - Thiago says hello

30 Apr 2021 21:42:38
Ed002 what countries do you think would grant him a permit?
Thanks Ed.

{Ed002's Note - I am not going to start trying to predict that but clubs will know.}

30 Apr 2021 22:35:27
What ed sell thiago? Or we haven't seen the best of him yet an he will provide the good old guile in midfield .

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed0666's Note - on the contrary mate I meant Thiago could provide the creative spark

I trust klopp. this season's been a freak season.

He hasn't said that the club have been in discussions with Brighton regarding Bissouma. He says there's been talk within the club about him. Slight difference.

01 May 2021 14:22:01
I would b shocked if both Mane and Bobbie left this season. One may go but not both, IMO. As for creativity, Fernandez is not a no. 10 cos he loses the ball way too much to be considered one, IMO. And as for creativity in our team, I agree with Ed. Say hello to Thiago.

01 May 2021 18:23:20
How many assists and goals has Thiago got so far this season then?

01 May 2021 19:18:59
AMEN warmachine I have not seen anything from thiago to suggest he is the answer to our creative prayers he is a midfielder who breaks up play an keeps it ticking over .

Agree1 Disagree0

01 May 2021 19:56:30
Thiago has been a big part of our problem this season. Another midfielder who offers little or nothing in the final third. We are desperate for an attacking midfielder who creates and Scores goals.

Agree2 Disagree0

01 May 2021 22:54:38
Harvey Elliot could be that creative midfielder given the chance.

Ed002 are you aware please if we have yet contacted Brighton regarding Bissouma?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of anything changing - Liverpool are interested as I have explained.}

Good morning eds, I have checked the search function already but didn't see any recent news. Do we heave any recent interest in donyell mallen the forward player?

Thanks.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed0666's Note - From what I’ve been told by one of the most astute and knowledgeable ITK’s according to him we haven’t made a move for him or made any contact but that doesent mean we won’t. A lot of other clubs have spoken to his club/agent I truly hope we do so too as he’s a little bit special and is a natural heir to Bobby. Hopefully Klopp doesent invite him to Blackpool tho. Do you rate the player Shoots?

30 Apr 2021 15:50:10
Hi ed0666, not heard too much about Malen but know he has played a bit on the wings. I really like the look of Vlahovic; do you think both of them could conceivably be bought?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed0666's Note - seeing as they want circa 40 milIon for Vlahovic I doubt it mate. What’s you’re impression of Valohovic Kirkby?

30 Apr 2021 16:01:16
think he's a good player and has top potential playing in a poor psv side. ed0666 does your source suggest we have interest in bissouma? him konate and malen would be an absolute dream window for me and i can't think of any other players id rather have that we could potentially afford and would come.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed0666's Note - I’ll have to get back to you on Bissouma mate I can’t remember. I agree those three players would be an absolute dream window would immeasurably make us stronger and challenge.

30 Apr 2021 18:50:52
Dream window will be badashille, ghouri, and koopeminer.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed0666's Note - my dream window would be looking through Megan Fox’ when her curtains aren’t drawn

{Ed0666's Note - I cannot objectify Meghan fox anymore Acer, it’s not respectful or classy on my part. I will just have romantic unrequited thoughts about her from afar.

Some people are calling Vlahovic the 'Serbian Ibrahimovic' but I think that's due to his height and build. I think he's got the look of Torres about him; fast despite his height, strong, excellent first touch and a natural finisher. He also presses well and has that handy knack of being in the right place at the right time.

His passing could be better but he's only 21 so has bags of room for improvement. In short I think he's the real deal and has had a great season at a frankly average Fiorentina. I'd say 40 mil is over par but if we were to sell Mane (obviously a big if) then I reckon we could buy Malen and Vlahovic, and for less combined than someone like Sancho!

After the likely sales of Shaq, Origi and Taki, that would leave us with 6 forwards in Salah, Bobby, Jota, Elliott, Malen and Vlahovic. Pretty decent.

Add to that Konate and Bissouma and I'd be quietly confident about 2021/ 22.

Ed002, do you foresee Liverpool going back for Ismaila Sarr again this summer? Of the players Klopp reportedly likes he's my preference. Traore doesn't score enough, Dembele is seemingly trouble, and Sancho is extortionate.

I know we've tried to sign Sarr before but just wondering if we've moved on completely or if he's still under consideration. His agent has come out and said he had agreed personal terms with Liverpool, but that we couldn't afford Watford's payment terms.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Ismaila Sarr (RW/LW/F) is possibly available regardless of Watford being promoted. Wolves have enquired after him - wanting to be kept informed just in case Adama Traore is sold. Crystal Palace have him on their list of potential Wilfried Zaha replacements, but he is not their first choice, although they could turn to him if their first-choice heads elsewhere (which he will). Liverpool are interested inasmuch as he is another player like Adama Traore that Klopp has had his tongue down the throat of, but whilst he would make a good replacement for Shaqiri consideration would need to be given to (a) would Sarr want to limit his playing time to that which Shaqiri gets, (b) he is not Home Grown, (c) he would block Harvey Elliott's progression, (d) he would cost £30M or thereabouts, and (e) like many players asked about, would depart for AFCON when it happens as he is Senegalese. I am not aware of any approach to Watford by Liverpool or Manchester United, but either club may have spoken with his agent. If Mane or Salah were to leave LIverpool, it makes a great deal more sense and would provide the funding. If Manchester United are done with Sancho it would be another option.}

let my man Harvey Play!

30 Apr 2021 10:22:20
I'm with you Ed002. Only really makes sense if Mane or Salah leave. That way it wouldn't really hinder Elliott's chance of game time either. Thanks for the detailed reply.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - You are welcome.}

30 Apr 2021 12:22:31
Harvey Elliott has done far better in a poorer team in my opinion. Scored about half as many goals but created nearly three times the number of goals as Sarr for his team mates and doesn’t lose the ball as cheaply as Sarr does. Much like Traore, I don’t get the hype.

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Apr 2021 13:03:04
I haven't really watched Sarr 0lay. Would be interested in eds1 opinion on the player if possible? Thanks in advance.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - quick and got good skill but he is extremely inconsistent, sometimes his touch is excellent, other times awful. He needs guiding.}

30 Apr 2021 14:17:21
Thanks Ed. Dusan Vlahovic has been mentioned a few time today and the lad looks pretty decent in my opinion. Have you seen much of him? Young and good scoring record. Although I have no idea what standard the Italian league is up to these days.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I don't remember watching him play at all. Ed77 was asking about him a few weeks back, so he is on the player profile list.}

30 Apr 2021 15:01:25
Cheers. Have a good weekend mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed077's Note - Vlahovic is a very good prospect in my eyes. I have been very impressed with him, every time I've watched him play.

30 Apr 2021 15:19:12
To be fair 6times, Sarr has 10 assists and Elliott has 11. I can't profess to having seen every one of those credited assists though. Sometimes it can be a 2 yard pass to someone else who beats 5 players and chips the keeper! On the face of it though, Sarr has 13 goals and 10 assists, to Elliott's 6 goals and 11 assists.

I would also argue they're not strictly the same players. Elliott looks likely to end up as a No.10 to me, whereas Sarr has played as a centre forward for Watford a few times this season and is a more natural goalscorer. I don't think they'd struggle to play together, is what i'm getting at. If i was a betting man, i'd have money on Traore or Sarr joining this summer though. If it had to be one or the other, Sarr would be my reluctant preference.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Apr 2021 15:33:47
MK mate, according to whoscored Sarr had only directly assisted 4 goals and scored goals as opposed to Elliott who’d assisted 11 and scored 6. The thing I’ve not been impressed by Sarr when I’ve seen him is he’s so inconsistent

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Apr 2021 15:50:29
Transfermarkt says 10 assists but i think they give an assist for winning a free kick/ penalty concerted by another player. There is probably not a lot between them. Elliott is creative and Sarr is more of a goal scorer. I am not overly impressed with Sarr either. He always looks a bit out of control of the ball when he runs with it like Zaha or Werner. Sounds like Klopp has a genuine interest nonetheless.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - we tried to sign him in the summer before turning to Jota when we couldn't agree a deal. So Klopp defo likes Sarr.}

Think we need to stay away from AFCON bound players. We'd potentially lose Konate, Bissouma, Sarr, Mane, Salah. I'd add Keita too but.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed0666's Note - if Bissouma wanted to come to Liverpool it would be dumb not to purchase him just because he’s gonna go to the AFCON. Jones could deputise no?

30 Apr 2021 15:54:50
Thanks Ed77. I think he looks a good prospect. Not sure on Sarr tbh. Daka is my personal fav.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Apr 2021 17:36:28
I'll rephrase: maybe stay away from Sarr and bring in a non AFCON forward. Midfield we have options up front not so much.

30 Apr 2021 17:46:32
Jota has already paid for himself! Tammy a consideration?

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Apr 2021 18:05:53
Ed001, do you think the Watford owner would even do business after that stuff at Udinese with Zielinski? I’m pretty sure he’s as good as said he’d rather sell for less to
Someone else than do any business with us?

I definitely get the same impression of Sarr when I’ve seen him, like if something happens, it’s not entirely because he meant it.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - the Pozzos will do business for the right price, but the price would be high.}

30 Apr 2021 18:48:05
Why would the club lose Konate for the AFCON? Isn't he French? And has to sign yet.

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Apr 2021 19:04:39
Mane i stand corrected. My point is another attacker like Sarr coming in and that's 3 front players to AFCON.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 May 2021 14:30:46
Redflyer, so we should not sign boss players cos they are going to the AFCON? Should that apply to boss players from South America due to the Copa America as well with both tournaments happening in the summer off season? So should City not have signed Yaya and Kolo Toure then? I don’t understand such thinking and frankly, I never have.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - AFCON is in January and February 2022. That is not the off season nor the summer. Try being less obnoxious and perhaps your posts won't keep detting deleted.}

02 May 2021 00:41:17
Thx 002.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 May 2021 00:46:08
2/ 3 of our goal output leaving for AFCON in Jan for up to 4-6 weeks. It would be 3/ 5 if we sign another African born player. One injury and we'd be up the creek wout a paddle.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed0666's Note - let’s hope we can sign the right players irrespective of their nationality after all we’re signing them for 3-5 years ideally
