No Europe , no rush. Let's qualify for the Champions League (which we are very well equipped to do now) and then look at bringing Cahill in on a free if we need him. Personally, I think we can do better but if Bolton bottle it tomorrow and let us have him for, say £8m, we could consider it but there's no way on God's green planet he's a patch on Seb Coates!
Besides, he'll be a Spurs player in 24 hours so this is all academic.

I can only think if we didnt go for ruiz at that price then we either a) aren't looking for another attacking player or b) have better targets lined up preferably option b) because thats a VERY good deal for ruiz

Ruiz is not a very good player- one of these guys that tries ten tricks a game and 9 out of ten times loses posession. well thats what ive seen but have only seen him play about 5 games.

I personally would not get overly excited for any big signings..

Other than Coates i believe we may only sign Bellamy or Yossi at the expense of Raul, not a great loss in my opinion..

Raul is a good player but i believe we have better players in his position especially when Gerrard returns..

The info i was told was we would try again in Jan for a striker, the club feels Carroll, Suarez and Kuyt is enough cover for now..

I hope no one is too disappointed with the summer signings. I believe they look great and we have a very bright future..

I also have news on the stadium but will go through that next week..

I can categorically without doubt believe that there will be another signing tomorrow,there is no way he (KK) will run the risk of 3 first team strikers with Carroll playing awful and the risk of Suarez getting injured he will wait till Jan and pay top Dollar for an average player!

I think since he has been correct 99% of the time, you should either shut up, or write your opinions on some other forum.

It doesn't matter if the Eds have your IP. The users identify others with a name, so start using it.

Sebastien Coates has completed his move to Liverpool FC, according to his Uruguayan team-mate Luis Suarez.

Suarez tweeted "I want to welcome Coates, partner in the Uruguayan team, friend and great player who just signed for Liverpool!"

The 6ft 5inch centre-back was in attendance for the game against Bolton on Saturday and has been at Melwood to complete his medical and agree personal terms. Yesterday's bank holiday Monday delayed his work permit but that now appears to have been finalised.

Coates arrives from Nacional for a fee reported to be around £7m.

Not posted for a while but of you look back I am reliable.
Told you In Jan about mavreux that did not materialise but we were ready to sign the player and commoli worked very hard for his signature. Moving on.

Bellamy is incredibly interested in a return to us and will accept a pay cut. Lille h e an option to buy Joe cole at any point during the loan period and the player rejected a move to QPR and spurs for champions league.

Yossi benayoun is an option for spurs and has also been offered to us in part exchange for raul.

Chelsea will need to increase there offer slightly but we may welcome a move and yossi will be a good squad player, however kenny may well want to keep hold of raul as he was a key player last season.

Finally, Coates is just waiting clearance, and we may well be in for another signing but Im not sure on that one.

Personally I would love a cheeky 5 mill bid for affelay as he is a great player and a traditional winger. Fits the bill.

News of Sebastion Coates putting pen paper will not be announced untill late tonight or early tomorrow. A delegation from Nacional have been delayed with their travel arrangements. Their flight was delayed by a few hours. They are here now assisting L.F.C. with all the necessary paper work.

Apparentley we are looking at signing affellay and Zarate on loan deals initally with a view to a permanent deal (zarate would be 2 million upfront for the loan, with a further 12 million if we want to make it permanent, affellay is similiar)

Their is talk of the russian club who bought eto'o, are meant to be trying to buy martin skrtel, i think its unlikely, in the unlikely event skrtel does go, then Gary cahill will be bought with no problems whatsoever after arsenal have altogether dropped out of the race for him after the aquisition of per mertesacker

Another player we have been looking at is Soldado of Valencia, valencia would demand around £14 million, expect Liverpool to test the waters with a bid of around £10 million plus ngog

Valencia are currentley rebuilding after the sale of mata to chelsea (who do not need to sell soldado) and are lining up a ambitous 25 million double bid for real madrids raul abiol and pedro leon
they have also lined up Andres Guardado of deportivo

Valencia do have a few replacements lined up, just in case soldado is sold and they are alberto gilardino and lukas podolski

If Joe Cole goes move to Lille goes through, i know its a bit me guesswork but knowing what he's capable of when he was at Chelsea and 57 England caps which you dont win on where near that if you cant play. Hi eds. Can someone please tell me why people are even considering selling mereiles. Especially for the quoted prices. We bought him 12 months ago for £11.5M and he was one of our best players and now somehow he is worth less than he was 12 months ago.
Benayoun is washed up and sturridge is worth about £5M (dont know where people are getting the prices for him considering hes only had a good 5-6 months).
If I was kenny I would demand at least £18M starting price or tell them where to go.

It is worth noting we spent 35m on someone who had a good 5-6 months, is young, and english. Stutridge would be fantastic backup for Ngog, and a suitable player when Dirk is no longer in the LFC plan.

I just don't understand why liverpool would even consider doing business with a rival. If we sell raul m then it should be to a team abroad. Why would we want to help strengthen one of our rivals? Even at £15 million, that's peanuts to Chelsea. If it were the other way round, they would price him out the Market! Raul was one of our best players last season and I for one hope that he stays. Let's hope KK sees it that way.

No, really bad shout. Diego is a short Brazilian Aquilani. Zero defensive ability and bad temperament. He can't get near the national team because Elano's workate and attitude is so much better than his.

Meireles may have off games and not be the best defensively but he always tries.

I have heard from a couple of decent sources, that Coates will be a Liverpoolfc player by late afternoon today. Bellamy will sign a contract tomorrow and there is a very good chance we will sign either Afellay or Zarate. Lots of negotiations going on currently with these two. It appears loan deals are more the likely outcome. Only one will arrive if a deal is struck.

IMO if decent offer and i mean somethimh between 14-16 ml for Raul, then DC would make a offer to Barcelona that would suit them, to bring Affellay to Liverpool on a permanent basis. DC is a big fan and would be no surprise to see him sign before the deadline tomorrow.
If we get Coates, Bellamy and Afellay, SURELY we have enough strength in depth to make a seroius challenge, and if there are no long time injury problems come Jan, there should be no need for anymore signings untill at least next summer.

Ed being reported we are going for Zarate (Italian press and sky sports italia) and Affelay various. I would love these both to be true as never been interested in us signing Bellamy and Benayoun as this would be a step backwards.

Can you confirm if these reports are concrete or not?

Also I see Newcastle are signing Santon for 5 million, think we missed out there to be honest as such a good wide player who can play all four wide positions, and at 5 million a snip.

Affelay is a player who is readily available for an affordable price and who would fit in perfectly with what we need. We were also interested prior to his move to Barca. In terms of outgoings, Degen is being pushed for by QPR and N'Gog could join Bolton on Wednesday. There is, unfortunately, no real interest in buying Poulsen but he could move on loan, perhaps to Espanyol. Cole will likely stay and so will Meireles.}

You couldn't be more wrong.

£8m plus Yossi values Meireles at way more than we paid for him.
Raul is not a starter.
Yossi will score more goals and create more.
Yossi can play right side or in the hole in our 4-3-3 formation and Raul is less comfortable there.
RM is really a central midfielder who was found wanting in that position in the FAPL which is why he was shunted forward.
We know what we get with Yossi who was very popular with teammates.
We also get money to go after younger targets (Zaha now and McCarthy next summer).

I like yossi he is a very clever player and would link up with suarez very well, also we all know he wont jump out of tackles and lose possession and cause panic, rafa had his problems with a lot of good players so dont hold that against yossi, 8 mill and yossi is a good deal i think BUT i dont see it happening, bob paisleys skids

The idea that £8 mill plus Yossi is more than we paid for Raul is dependant on what you value Yossi at.He's 31 and that's 3 years older than Raul and spent most of last season injured.How anyone can claim Benayoun will make and create more goals than Meireles I don't understand and if Benayoun were any sort of force still wouldn't Chelsea want to keep him?

Raul Meireles will remain at Liverpool unless someone bids in excess of £14mil. Chelsea are willing to stump up that amount, but they will only push ahead with a deal if they don't get Modric. Meireles will not sign for Arsenal as he feels they are in a transitional period (like Liverpool last season) and he wants to win trophys sooner rather than later. I personally feel he will be still with us come September 1st.

Liverpool have offered Wigan David Ngog and £4mil for Hugo Rodallega. Wigan refused out right. So looks like back to the drawing board for DC in his search for a good back up striker.

I think we need to stand firm and keep hold of Meireles - especially not keep selling to Chavski. The only way I'd be happy about this happening is if we saw someone like Sturridge coming the other way - which is unlikely IMO

Has no one noticed that N'Gog and Rodallega's scoring records are pretty much identical but Rodallega is 4 years older and at the end of his natural development trend? N'Gog needs loaning out and replacing with someone with a better scoring record, not sold and replaced with someone with exactly the same one.

Lfc have had a dramatic turn in there hunt for a striker! Many people have linked us with Craig Bellamy and RVP but I can tell you RVP was never going to happen and Bellamy is no longer interested. However, I can reveal that Liverpool are considering making a move Ezequiel Lavezzi who LFC have been interested in for a while. This could be the time that Liverpool could strike. I expect Lavezzi to wear the number 10 shirt that will be vacated by Joe Cole

Napoli are in the champions league this season, i cant see his club wanting to or needing to sell, and i cant imagine the player wanting to leave after getting his club to the holy land

My sources tell me chelsea would only loan out sturridge to a mid table team i.e , Bolton or Stoke.

Liverpool will play hard ball with Chelsea and Arsenal over the transfer of Raul Meireles. With Arsenal, they will only accept a cash offer, because the players Arsenal will offer will not interest Kenny, of around £14m.
With Chelsea, Liverpool ideally want the offer to be just cash, again around £14m, or for Sturridge to be involved in the deal, likely to be around £6m plus Sturridge. Chelsea on the other hand want to use Benayoun in the deal but Liverpool will only listen to around £12m plus Benayoun.

Expect things to develop tomorrow if anything will happen at all.

Last years player of the year shouldn't go to Chelsea unless we get Sturridge and some cash. Sturridge can play on the wing and up front and that 6m will cover Afellay's transfer fee. I love Meireles, but it's another 2 for 1. As good as Torres was on his day, I would take Suarez and Carroll all day. Same with Meireles vs Sturridge/Afellay. Keep building that team, Kenny!

It would not be Mierles for Cash and Sturridge it is the other way around. We would give Mireles and cash for Sturridge. Chelsea would only let Sturridge walk for big money. So pretty much we will not get Sturridge or Afellay, sorry

Bellamy is not coming as Citeh are refusing to pay up his contract and let him come to us. I cant see LFC paying the £4.6m he is owed to get him but wouldn't be surprised if Harry paid it. Lets hope there is a sea change and they get him off their wage bill. Bellamy coming in makes sense as a short term solution to our back up striker cover.

One move that just doesnt make sense is Yossi coming back. If I'm not mistaken he left us because he didn't want to be a squad player so why would he come back her to be.....a squad player!!

Intriguing 48 hrs ahead I think but it wouldnt surprise me if Coates is our last signing...hope not though as we need cover up front.

Stop with the agbonlahor and vargas rumours wont be happening.. Bellamy looks likely with n'gog leaving.. Affelay lot of speculation in Spain with a bid linked around £6million... would be a bargain can play in many positions.... sources gathering pace if this can be done on deadline day
