It's twitter so it could be bollocks but apparently we're trying to re-sign Suarez.

I’m all for that 100%.

So it’s no more players in then! Suarez back no way! I heard it was Ian Rush!

I'd be gutted. Rather we brought back Crouch.

I think you can file this one under BS.

I kinda feel we will bring in Coutinho on loan as Barcelona need to get wages off the bill and we need something else in our attack.

30 Aug 2021 23:06:43
Might be related to the rumour of the severity of Bobby's injury.

I'd rather bring back Titi.

Agree5 Disagree0

30 Aug 2021 23:50:26
If Firmino is out for a few months then we might need to bring a player in. Origi has proved that he hadn't got the ability to be that player for Liverpool.

Why would we go anywhere near that scumbag. If anyone actually thinks fsg would touch him with a barge pole after the rubbish he pulled the last time yer deluded.

Ed2 are we interested in Damsgaard?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Mikkel Damsgaard (LW/AM) Spurs asked after a price for the player at the behest of Mr Mourinho who may have taken his interest on to Roma, but they don't seem to have the space unless Pastore or Mkhitaryan were to leave. Now Spurs have lost the plot rather and have made a particularly low offer. If they are serious they will return and make a serious offer. Real Madrid consider him an option at the right price if they sell Isco. Sampdoria saying Southampton and Leeds, and more recently Aston Villa, have all enquired about the availability of the player who only joined last summer. Aston Villa have added Leon Bailey to Trezeguet already so would be looking to use him in an AM role. Juventus see him as a potential addition but game time would be restricted. Sampdoria have told Milan that they are not open to being given their "off cuts" in exchange and want a huge cash deal - but Milan would need to sell Leao to bring him in - and they also need the money after completing the Tonali deal. Leeds have a compelling need to add a LW/AM player and might well push. Liverpool are well placed in the wide positions but could see him as an AM player they are in need of. Sampdoria are reluctant to sell but I suspect more clubs will be showing an interest. I expect him to stay another year unless a very good offer is made.}

Thanks ed2 great information.

30 Aug 2021 19:36:20
Why aren’t we in for Houssem Aouar since he is available and a decent AM?

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed0666's Note - we got less money than Burnley after all our contract renewals, Kirby training facility, etc etc they weren’t cheap that’s for sure

30 Aug 2021 21:34:04
Then obviously the owners are in over there head, Liverpool is a major club not AFC WIMBLEDON and if they can't run us like a big club p. off, yes overheads they have had to pay off but the team and fans don't deserve to go backwards since being on top.

You need to stop playing football manager hailstones!

Agree2 Disagree0

30 Aug 2021 23:35:44
Other clubs that haven't won the PL and CL in recent years have overheads too but seem to be able to sign players. Contract renewals and work on the new stand will be why we have not signed much this year, but nothing about all the extra sponsorship deals signed. Have we not signed lucrative deals with Axa regarding naming rights as a way of part recouping the money for the training complex? Im not trying to play fantasy manager by any stretch im honestly not but we can't bang the same drum every year. Personally i think we are being let down by our owners atm. We need investment we clearly ain't getting even after sales. The net spend brigade will be out in force but net spend only proves 0 invest from the owers. Also appriciate what FSG have done for the club in the last 10 years but when we are stuck they should be digging deep, if they can't they are in the wrong game. I don't find this unreasonable or fantasy that an owner should help. FFP has apparently been slightly relaxed so can't use that one.

30 Aug 2021 20:42:33
Burnley? We’re not even that flush. We’re so skint we’re close to making an application for Universal Credit.

Agree1 Disagree0

31 Aug 2021 08:00:59
Spot on hailstones, don't listen the negative reply, it's these blind fans that are keeping FSG sat comfortably with no pressure to sell to someone who wants us to compete season after season.

Easy to pick on Mane as he plays in a forward position, if robbo and hendo gave a 8/ 10 performance maybe he could've played better and I'm sure the penalty came from his shot.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

30 Aug 2021 01:47:30
I thought Mane played alright. He looked quick and lively. But it’s pretty hard to get through 7 defenders, that was high end bus parking there. Robertson and Henderson both looked rusty, on the plus side it’s one more point than last season.

30 Aug 2021 03:23:56
We are becoming more predictable. Teams are adapting to our tactics and closing the gaps when our flanks are pushing forward. Opponents break our press and lob the ball forward to counter - normally catching us off guard.

We need to really give our front-3 variabilities. At times, we need to really put a perfect ball or some magical move to score a goal. The unpredictability in the lineup will give opponents time to adapt. Elliot is one player that gives us the options.

Agree9 Disagree0

30 Aug 2021 06:10:56
Klopp would have subbed Mane in the second half if he had better options on the bench. He definitely have a thought but then decided against it.

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Aug 2021 07:05:15
Mane had no service.

30 Aug 2021 07:27:15
Robbo and Hendo are just coming back.
Mané doesn’t have that excuse
Firmino now out injured leaves who exactly as our back up to the front 3?
Minamino?
Origi?

Great site this. At what point of the game did Klopp have this thought then Rocky? You should really use your mind reading powers to do good in the world.

Agree13 Disagree0

30 Aug 2021 08:41:07
Rocky is the new sinwave. Sinwave was the new. Best to ignore these scenarios made from imagination which are then used to bash the club, coach and/ or players. You should be used to a certain poster's MO by now.

Agree9 Disagree0

30 Aug 2021 08:52:10
63 minutes and 41 seconds in - you can clearly see Jurgen’s eyes light up.

My favourite in this thread is the idea of our front three being given variabilities. The poster also didn’t make any mention of the fact we couldn’t give them variabilites after half time as one of the four forwards had been taken off injured.

Agree2 Disagree0

30 Aug 2021 08:55:55
Henderson is a Liverpool player and I support him but that doesn't deviate from the fact that he is probably just an above average midfielder in terms of playing ability but does have excellent leadership abilities.

He is far far away and cannot be put in the same bracket as Steven Gerrard, who had the ability to change a match on his own.

I'm neither a Henderson hater or Henderson lover but some people just seem to have blinkers when supporting the team and feels that all the players should be absolved of criticism.

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Aug 2021 09:10:08
We just didn’t play well. Mane and Hendo were both poor along with most of the team. It’s early I am sure they will sort it out.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Aug 2021 09:20:11
I missed the game, but I read that Hendo played on the left hand side of the midfield. If he and Robbo were both rusty, it's bound to impact on mane's performance as he's on the left too. Plus, Chelsea were always playing for a point after the red card. Mane has been good in the first 2 games, people just using him as a scapegoat because he didn't have a great season last year.

Agree2 Disagree0

30 Aug 2021 09:38:18
I was at the match Saturday and I don't know how people are given are players stick even before Chelsea went down to 10 men they was set up to defend. Chelsea have a lot of very good players and are very well organised they scored with a great header from a corner against the run of play and as city found out last season they are very hard to break down. For me they played like Burnley the week before with the new rule changes for this season it has evened the playing field up the last few seasons it has definitely favoured the attackers with fouls given for next to nothing this season its going to be harder to score with less pens and freekicks given to attacking players.
But to give Mane stick he had to get past 3 players most of the game. On the other side we had 3 player attacking with Salah Trent and Elliott all down that side. Mane did not have as much support Robbo did not get up as much as Trent and the Midfielders did not go over the like Elliott did on the right.

Agree14 Disagree0

30 Aug 2021 10:02:59
Mane was doubled up on every occasion so that quick burst he uses to get past players was nullified. Few times he did get 1 on 1 he went past his man but chelsea still had 3 defenders in the box.

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Aug 2021 10:16:32
We were playing one of the favourites for the title not some relegation cannon fodder. People need to get a grip if they tought we were going to demolish Chelsea.
Once they went down to 10 men they were playing a smash and grab game, with the players on their team to accomplish that.
Before they game I thought it would be a draw and having watched the game we could have very easily lost it to one of their breaks.
Glad to see that VvD kept Lukaku in his pocket all game and how Elliot showed glimpses of how good he will become.

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Aug 2021 10:18:20
So if Mane was marked by 2 or 3 players and Elliot had a decent game, what happened to the bloody rest of them? VVD and Matip excluded.

Agree3 Disagree0

30 Aug 2021 10:28:08
Doesn’t the opposition playing a good game have an impact upon how well our players can play. We weren’t at our best, a couple of players were underdone. We were playing an excellent team who are well managed. It happens, get ver it and move on - the level of over thinking is ridiculous.

Agree4 Disagree0

30 Aug 2021 10:45:24
Man city have scored 1 goal in 3 games against this Chelsea lot. They have some of the best, organised defenders on the planet. Should we have done better yes, but the toy throwing on here is laughable.

Agree9 Disagree0

30 Aug 2021 10:47:43
Some players weren't at it but sometimes you've to credit the opposition.

Agree4 Disagree0

30 Aug 2021 10:58:02
I suppose Salah scores goalz, but he often escapes Mane-like criticism when in the same game he does jacksh*ep which is what Mane is being criticized for.

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Aug 2021 11:04:57
What I don understand is the decision to start a rusty Robbo in a game of this magnitude instead of a very in form Kostas. No criticism of Robbo. Just a strange one for me.

Agree8 Disagree0

30 Aug 2021 11:12:59
I wouldn't so as far as saying they have some of the best defenders on the planet, that's a bit much but they are set up very well and very difficult to break down.
I still think Liverpool should have tho, 45 minutes with a man extra, that's a long time and off course we are a top team with great players of our own. We seemed to slow the tempo down and played at a pace that suited Chelsea instead of doing the opposite.

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Aug 2021 11:14:40
I love the criticism of people who obviously don’t understand the game. “We have not beat Chelsea, so everyone’s rubbish. ”
3 games in and 7 points, not too bad in my opinion.
I personally would have started with Kostas, Jota and probably Kieta myself as they are more up to speed, but I don’t get paid the big bucks and hindsight is great.

Agree2 Disagree0

30 Aug 2021 11:25:58
Chelsea literally played with 7 defenders at any one time, with Mount and, until he was subbed off, Havertz also closing down in front of those defenders. Literally Kante/ Kovacic and Jorginho were playing no more than a few yards in front of the three centre backs (making it like playing through five centre backs) and there wing backs pulled as far back as possible, it was a total crowd scene! It is extremely difficult to play through that kind of defending, and either takes luck or an outrageous bit of skill.

Only other ways through are aerially or hitting long range thunderb*stards. Going long and aerial wasn’t an option as we’ve no one to aim at and the second would be difficult as their keeper looks pretty safe on long range efforts because of his size.

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Aug 2021 11:37:46
Mane was poor no two ways about it. Nothing to do with service or anyone else lads. When was the last time he looked really electrifying and dangerous? Absolutely running defenders ragged? He hasn’t looked himself and has seemed lethargic for a while.

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Aug 2021 12:20:59
Same old boring stuff on here, I guess. Some claiming to be in Klopp’s head and knowing what he would have done. Others claiming cos we didn’t win, meant that everyone is rubbish. Some unable to give the opposition (a formidable one at that) any credit for how they played and most of all, the usual suspects with axes to grind, slating their perennial targets for not having a good game cos clearly, that has never happened to a footballer prior to last Sat. Good Freaking Grief 🙄.

Agree3 Disagree0

30 Aug 2021 13:17:15
I have to say, I was not impressed with Lukaku in his defensive midfield role.
I did think that going down to 10 men would not really affect Chelsea as Kante does the work of 2 men. I was really shocked when Tuchel subbed him at half time.
Even playing against 10 men teams need some luck to score goals.
Teams with ten men and no less likely to concede but they are less likely to score.
We still need that magician in the middle of the park, maybe it will be Harvey maybe we need to bring someone in?

{Ed001's Note - Kante was injured.}

Bledd85, IMO a lot of people are criticising the players with the inference that our season is doomed.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Aug 2021 18:19:33
I don’t understand how anyone can be critical of that performance. 3 games I’m playing like that was fantastic! I was utterly chuffed and enjoyed a great game of football. Of course there are always details to pick over but we were bloody brilliant . Come on you red men!

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Aug 2021 20:45:21
We need to learn from that game, as it’s again given teams a blueprint on how to get something out of the game. We don’t appear to have learnt the lessons from Atletico in terms of dealing with teams who pack defences.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Aug 2021 21:49:38
I can’t speak for anyone else Rainbow but I’m certainly not implying our season is doomed. I just feel compared to the high standards Mane set not so long ago his recent performances have not been good enough.

He seems to have lost that flair and unpredictability that made him so dangerous. His finish against Burnley was great but his all round game has nose dived. In my opinion of course.

Some fans need to realise it’s ok to criticise our players it even if the team is doing well. It doesn’t mean they’re slating the club.
