Hi ED's. love the work you have done with this site, im always constantly on here trying to find out the latest transfer rumours and news. i know your probably getting sick of these questions and will probably say use the search engine but there are just a couple of things id like ur opinion on.

Daniel Sturridge - whats the latest on him? i heard on a web site that he had undergone a medical but havent really heard anything since then, is there anything else you can tell me about this?

Tom Ince - is he a player that you think we will sign in january? it seems pretty stupid to let a player of that calibur go but i would be delighted if we re-signed him. so whats the latest on this is there anything official?

Theo Walcott - is there any truth in the rumours that he could be coming to anfield in january? i love him to sign for us and i seriously think that with daniel sturridge and luis suarez these players could really get us back in that top four. i heard that hes a liverpool fan, but why would he want to sign for a club which to be fair is struggling to stay in the top 10? like i say id be greatful for a comment on this. thanx mate

{Ed002's Note - These have all been doen to death - please try the search function.}

So your not gonna give me an update? its not always easy to find exactly what your looking for in the search engine {Ed002's Note - I really don't have the time or inclination to constantly provide answers to repeat questions. Typing in "walcott", for example, and reading through the responses would prove educational and, no doubt, fun for you.}

Ed you never fail Lol

just a question eds but we are all saying aw we couldnt afford sneijders wages but no one was really saying anything about tottenham interest have we not got a bigger wage bill than them and surely we pay more in wages than spurs. if we cant afford his wages they cant spurs have never paid big wages {Ed002's Note - Irrational comparisons are of no significance. Ignore the wages and you will worry less.}

Are u for real?? Remember that Siggurdson fella?

For real!
Mate with gylfi it wasnt that we couldnt afford his wages it was the fact we didnt want to pay what he wanted?
So before u say anything think about what u are saying i mean tottenham will never pay the type of salary sneijder or even suarez and gerrard are on they have a strict wage budget and ours is slightly more loose although i expect that will change to stop whats happend with all these over paid players

Spurs qualified for europe two years in a row i think so that would of netted them some spondoolys

hi eds could you clear this rumour up for the fans:) apparently enzo F. zidane (zidane son) is having a trail in febuary but he is playing really well for real Madrids B team i can't see them letting him go {Ed002's Note - No idea, sorry.}

Hearing the same the same thing from a scout wirral based

Probably lies mate, the kid is class! I'm sure there's been an international tug of war between Italy, France and Spain for his services. Why would a kid like that with a dad like his who is on the Madrid board move to Anfield for a trial?

Not the only one who heard this, someone said it was official from Real Madrids B-Team the news came , it would be good but I doubt it . Though who knows eh

Why? because no matter who your daddy is until you are world class you don't get a game at Real Madrid. Pre this year before Mourinho started getting a lot of pressure from fans to be more like Barca and give the kid a chance name 1 person in the last 10 years bar Casillas that has come out of the academy and become world class. Callejon doesn't count 25 with 0 spain caps.
This is the best club in the world for promising kids to come, thats why.
Andrew

It's happenned a fair few times before - Gerardo Bruna, for example, turned down a new contract at Real to join Benitez at Liverpool. Pacheco (an incredibly promising youngster) came from Barca.

Now, Bruna's at Blackpool and Pacheco isnt getting a look in on the first team at 21.

interstingly, however, Jesus Fernandez (suso) chose us over real madrid, which may say something about their academy, so i'd say there is every chance this could be true - time will tell!

cheers,

Dr. Sanchez

sneijder bid is a ploy to ensure united cool their interest in ince and alllow us a free run for his signature provided we back off wesley. uniteds interest in ince has meant an early deal in january for him may not happen, as blackpool reckon united are in for ince too.
lfc77

That is not how transfers work

Square tomato

They are 2 different players so it doesn't make sense

Let united have Ince he is sh!t

My source told me the sneijder rumour was to ensure united cool there intrest in heskey, GIT! you can't trust anybodies word now days.

leeb7red.

Ince or Snedjar?
Mhmm... tough one.

Is this gril from the LFC website? He has a repetitive problem, echo, tick or needs help.

Touch of the arry's

Hi Eds, just wondering if everything goes as planned with the Sturridge deal, (we know how things can change, Dempsey) is there any chance we could see him starting for us against Sunderland or will it be too soon regarding paperwork and stuff like that?

Cheers

Robbo {Ed002's Note - He will be available once the paperwork is submitted by the clubs, processed and international clearance obtained. Typically that takes a day or so.}

30 Dec 2012 17:50:32
Danish tv kanal 6 reporting a 9.5 million bid for Snejder.

Don't take too much notice, would love a player of his quality, but at his current wage and what he would demand, can safely say its very impracticable.

Ed's are Liverpool really linked with Sneijder? {Ed002's Note - The Sneijder to Liverpool story comes from an Italian source speculating that Liverpool would be willing to pay Inter 10M euros for Sneijder and the player 240k eruos (a little over £200k) per week to give him 120M euros per week net. This was seemingly added to Twitter by a "journalist" that summarises current rumours on hs Twitter account. I have no confirmation if it is true that Liverpool has approached Inter (or more likely Sneijder's agent) at this time - but suspect that if anything could happen there would need to be very significant movement over his wage demands. The Sneijder to Spurs story comes from a journalist speculating that a sale, not a loan, to Spurs may be possible - but I have no confirmation that it is true at this time. If a move for Moutinho cannot be put together by Spurs - most probably due to financial constraints - an approach to Sneijder does make sense. PSG and Fenerbhace remain two most likely destinations for Sneijder at this time although Schalke 04 have been packaging up an ambitious bid and Bayern Munich has been, I understand, discussing the player in-house. Anzhi and Spartak Moscow retain an interest in him but chances of a move to Russia seem to be near zero. I don't know of any remaining interest from Manchester United. There is a very slim chance that he could make a surprise move somewhere else and discussions have been held with a club on a different continent, but I would supect that is something for the future.}

I think the question we need to be asking ourselves is... Does Sneijder really need 120M euros a week? I'm sure we could argue him down some.

If we sign Sneijder i will bare my A*&e in barkers or Northallerton 's window.
Dont get me wrong hope its right - but we would have struggled to attract the likes of Wesley when we were finishin 2nd, so maybe we need to be a bit more realistic.
Sturridge, Ince, Walcott etc

I would rather wait 3 years for the kids to get good than pay someone at the end of their career that money...

Sneider due for a medical wednesday report tv Italia.

At united or city?

At old trafford?

Rhubarb n tosh , hardly worthy of comment....

Bless him, he must have that winter bug going round at the moment!

What's your source??

Don't get me wrong would be a real coup for the club, but need evidence mate c'mon.

ED's do you think with Chelsea or anybody buying Ba Pardew will want to take a look at getting Carroll in Jan?

Thanks
Rk {Ed002's Note - Carroll is on a year long loan and injured.}

I thought we could recall him in Jan? If an offer came in could that still be possible?

Any idea on how long he will be out for?

Rk {Ed002's Note - He will be out a month or so still. But his loan is for a year and it is a loan-to-buy, but I do not know what the provisions are.}

Injury didn't stop us. In fact, it seemed to increase his value!

30 Dec 2012 15:20:26
Hi Ed002,
Just thinking about variety of upfront players. If Sturridge comes, then him and Suarez. I don`t know when Borini comes back from injury. Is it possible Carroll is called back in Jan or will Rodgers use players he`s got + Daniel? thanks. {Ed002's Note - Borini is back for selection mid January. Carroll is injured thru the end of January and I suspect will see the season out at WHU. If Ince arrives it adds another option - even ignoring Ngoo, Pacheco, Morgan etc who do not seem to be getting chances. I think there are plenty of options.}

Thomas ince talks break down

Would love to see Adam Morgan given a chance.Was bigged up by BR in the documentary when he was having a go at Sterling yet doesn't give him a go. Strange.

Just watching the Everton - Chelsea game and SS say that Demba Ba is meeting Chelsea officials later today to discuss a transfer, considering the buy out clause of 7m and how many goals he scores aren't we interested in offering something? Seems we are missing out in my opinion. Feels to me that we are paying 12m to Chelsea for Sturridge and they pay 7m for Ba, who will score more goals and be 5m better off!

Ba would fit their rafa system

Sturridge will fit ours

Why would he want to come to a struggling side whn he can go to chelski. . .it's a no brainer!

Agree with the above, plus we like to waste money on overrated young British players instead of proven talent.

I would rather have Ba than sturridge...
Ba arrives for the goals at the right time and that is what we need, someone to poach and finish all our chances. He is also quite big so a different option when this tika taka isn't working and we have to play long sometimes.

Manno

Ba is older. Sturridge should hopefully develop into a better player than him {Ed052's Note - DS will make more goals, can play in more positions, will be on cheaper wages, English, and younger. Thats why he's the better signing. And he fits into our style better than Ba would do}

Ba isnt crap and english, if he was we would be trying to sign him {Ed052's Note - We dont just buy players because they are English. We buy the most suitable players, suitable fee and wages, those who will fit in, and quickest. Why, what nationalities are Allen, Borini, Enrique, Coates, Suarez, Yesil etc etc. Certainly not Englsih. We dont just sign English players}

30 Dec 2012 15:40:07
It is further clarification that the Sturridge deal is in place just the formalities to complete. Ba is a good striker but he wants champions league football. Sturridge is a completely different player, but can play in various roles. We need players with such flexibility because our squad depth is not good enough yet. I'd rather have hungry young players coming into the club for Rodgers to develop, than players who think after a good season at Newcastle think they've already earned the right to play champions league tbh.

I thought the whole problem with ba is that he can't pass a medical , Newcastle took a risk with him and didn't he go to see a witch doctor to try and help him I might be going mad though lol

Rather have Sturridge than Ba any day. Far better all round player than Ba has been or will ever be.

Further info, just been contacted by friend who is at Everton re: Ba. Rumour is that he is also asking for between 3-5 million pounds as a signing on fee.
If that is true, reckon we are better off without him.

Theres too many people on this site who don't seem to know what the word support means. I can tell you what it doesn't mean; it doesn't mean bitch and moan about every signing in a public forum like this one, yes have an opinion but these sorts of comments make the club / fan base a laughing stock and usually come from someone whose never even been to Liverpool let alone a real scouser FFS. If I was a utd, chelski or everton fan I'd come on here for a good old laugh.

Ba is £7m, plus hefty agents fees, something the owners quite rightly dont want to pay going forward. There are good agents out there but there are also some right parasites.

Smudger.

What your all missing is the fact that the 7m price tag (release clause) is only for a top four side offering champions league football if im right, , he would cost liverpool way more than that, im not a fan of sturridge but if he joins ill support him but i think if liverpool went for ba we would have to pay more than 12m sturridge would cost

Mate u are right but we are liverpool our transfer business has never added up to common sense

Even if we did, would he wanna come? Seriously guys, think realistically. Sturridge is a good player imo, but hasnt gotten the chance to play.

Sturridge is younger than Ba also when he was given a chance at Bolton he scored goals personaly i would have Sturridge over Ba anyday in 2-3years time when Sturridge is going through his best years Ba will be way past it.

Who's younger and not injury prone with bad knees... Dan H

Rumours suggest that Ba is not having a good effect on morale at Newcastle, plus high wage demands, future African Cup of Nations involvement, dodgy uninsurable knee ........ a gamble not worth taking

hi eds and reds,
heard whispers of a move for benat of betis in the last transfer window any chance for jan or summer deal. for ed002
thanks in advance! {Ed002's Note - If Benat moves in January then Atletico Madrid might by an option. CSKA, Arsenal and Wolfsburg have shown some interest in him. Txiki Begiristain has, as reported, an interest in taking him to Manchester City. It is beginning to look like the summer woul be more likely.}

30 Dec 2012 13:38:04
Hi Ed002,
we assume that Sturridge and Ince will join next month. We hear about Butland being linked with a move to Anfield. I just can`t believe that Rodgers is willing to bring in more than two or three players. Maybe Snijder on loan? Then is a story about Holtby, Mirin, Di Santo (for whatever reason that is) and even Lampard. I assume some Liverpool players must leave to make room for newcomers. Do you think that it`s possible to see more that three players to come in Jan? And apart from Cole, is Downing`s exit in Jan still on the cards? Will anyone else leave, Henderson maybe? thanks {Ed002's Note - If a move is made for Mirin then Coates would probably be leaving. A move for Holtby would likely be in respect of a pre-contract for the summer. Di Santo will be free in the summer but I don't know of interest. A move for Lampard is unlikely. If Downing goes in January I would think Boro an option. I expect Henderson will leave in the summer rather than now.}

If the installment offer made for Butland by Liverpool is correct (see B'ham site) you will have difficulty landing him. Whilst such payments are quite usual, it hardly helps B'hams financial situation and other clubs are likely to make better offers.

Think Coates should stay. He's good lads with passing, tackle and scoring

30 Dec 2012 13:37:01
Been rumours Arsenal and us are going for Turan. Dont think he will join us, Arsenal more likely, they already sorted the Turans personal terms out. {Ed002's Note - Arda was certainly looked at by Liverpool a while back but clearly those that were in control of transfers did not progress any initial interest. Eventually he moved to Spain. We knew very early on that he would be leaving Galatasaray for Atletico Madrid once money had been freed up through the sale of Aguero - although there was strong interest from elsewhere. Arda Turan will most likely move this coming summer subject to a suitable bid being made - something in the order of £18M-£20M. The likely destinations are England and Italy although there remains a chance that previous German interest will still be there and an outside chance of a return to Turkey. Atletico Madrid have already rejected a move from Schalke saying they do not want to sell in January.}

30 Dec 2012 12:51:22
Hi Eds,

i wanna ask if Liverpool has any interest on Diego Lugano who claims that he will leave PSG in Jan?

Jacky from Hong Kong {Ed002's Note - Napoli and QPR are the interested clubs I am aware of.}

He's getting on but i must admit he would be a good signing to get if we really believe that our young CB's at the academy like Sama and Kelly(if he is still seen as a future CB) will be ready for the first team after next season.

he would also make Suarez happy because they are good friends as well as strengthening the Uruguayan-livepool connection if coates does move on to one of Santos or Juventus.

30 Dec 2012 12:17:31
just seen that liverpool have put in a bid for sneijder of inter. eds, could u shed any light on this to see if this is true. cheers {Ed002's Note - Please read the posts.}

This is rubbish....we couldn't attract a player of that calibre

30 Dec 2012 11:42:17
hi eds.
apart from sturridge and ince. who are liverpool looking at? is there interest in charlie austin? wilfried bony? younes belhanda?
cheers
lee {Ed002's Note - Without doubt the focus is on Sturridge and Ince. There is interest in Austin, Bony and Belhanda from elsewhere but I would not expect any of them to be moving to Liverpool in January. There have of course been enquiries about taking Jeffren on loan (but that has gone quiet) and the availability of Hoarau.}

I think it would be a decent window if we brought in the following:

GK - Butland £6m
LW/RW/CF - Ince £4m
LW/RW/CF - Sturridge £12m
ST - Hoarau £4m

Butland is for the future and would stay at B-ham til end of season.

Ince would be rotated along with Sterling/Assaidi/Downing on the wings.

Sturridge & Hoarau will provide experience and further options up top along with Borini & Suarez

BigD

Hi
May I know what has happened to the transfer rumours of Holtby, Eriksen joining Liverpool? Cause I see the rumours of them declining significantly. Hope the eds can shed some light.
Thanks. {Ed002's Note - Schalke have confirmed that they have made an offer to Lewis Holtby of a new contract but are aware that there will be interest from clubs wishing to speak to the player in January and getting him to agree a deal might be difficult - as is proving to be the case. Aston Villa has added to the previously known interest from Valencia, Everton and Arsenal and unconfirmed rumours suggest that both Manchester United and Liverpool may also look to Holtby. Perhaps the most interesting option that he may have is Inter Milan who most definately has an interest after stepping back from any deal for their first choice midfield player. However, Inter are being advised by Di Frisco that Holtby is perhaps two years from being ready for such a move but in my view it remains a possible destination - although they are looking at Belhanda as well. There might be a chance to tempt him to sign a pre-contract in January.

Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Spurs, Inter and AC Milan have shown some level of interest in Eriksen in the past year or so. He has already rejected both Manchester City and Chelsea but AC Milan and Spurs remain the most interested clubs and Manchester City may well return for him again. Back in July the Milan Press Office were convinced of interest from Manchester United and they have let it be known that they expected a bid to be made by for Eriksen. Expect both Milan clubs and Roma to press if a bid is made by Manchester United. The player remains adament that he will stay in Amsterdam for18 more months before moving to Spain but would likely jump at the chance of a move to Real Madrid or Barcelona if the opportunity arises. Ajax will not let him run down his contract so a move beckons. With only limited options for January, I suspect the player would wish to see out the rest of the season at Ajax and see if he can attract attention from Spain.} }

I just want to say something regarding Wesley Sneijder before evryone starts posting comments about him. Even if Sneijder would consider liverpool, (which he wouldnt), theres no way in hell we could possibly afford his wages. So not going to happen everyone, not a hope

yann

I concur.

KNEE JERK.

Why wouldn't Sneijder consider the biggest club in the world

We wouldn't be interested if we dint think we could afford him plus we are still a big club its that kind of attitude bringing us down

We are 5 times european champions..Who are Spurs? Liverpool FC has} Greatest History. Great Fan base.. Liverpool still has a magical pull whatever some will lead you to believe. We are respected because when people in europe hear the name Liverpool FC they sit up and listen.

I'm not sure it would be good for the team, even if he did come. He has a huge ego, and he could prove to be quite a disruptive force in the dressing room. And that always translates onto the field. With Gerrard and Suarez as the natural on and off field leaders, there's no place a for a third one. ra1969

We can't affoard him, we are not intrested, he would never come top us and them 5 trophies were a long time ago. We are no longer one of the worlds biggest clubs, we will be again one day but right now we are not. Big players want the CL and a massive pay packet, we can't give him either.

3rd & 4th reply's! Very deluded! Your lack of football knowledge is clear for all to see and laugh at!

Some LFC fans are still clearly in denial....when people hear the name liverpool now, they tell thier kids about a time when they used to be one of the top clubs in Europe but due to the poor management of the club for the last 20 years, they are now premier league also rans clinging onto memories of the past. In Manchester, they simply just laugh at us.

I live and work in Manchester. The united fans are knowledgable , just like Liverpool fans. They respect Liverpool still and are always concerned that we will come back again. Liverpool is still respected around the world too. 4 years ago we were top of the UEFA rankings. In the minds of the modern fickle mentality we are nothing. In those with longer memories than the last few seasons Liverpool are still a great club. When Liverpool find the right blend again from the top down it will not take much for them to become a great force again. Perhaps the injection of sturridge, ince and maybe sneijder will help us in that direction. Sneijder could have the most amazing last 5 years of his career if he was to make it in Liverpool

30 Dec 2012 10:02:49
I see its been asked several times about Sneijder but do any eds know if we have enquired for him, if he could find the form he had in 2010 he could really push us up the table {Ed002's Note - The Sneijder to Liverpool story comes from an Italian source speculating that Liverpool would be willing to pay Inter 10M euros for Sneijder and the player 240k eruos (a little over £200k) per week to give him 120M euros per week net. 30 Dec 2012 14:49:01
Ed wouldn't you agree that if we could even afford his wages in the first place we would have to increase gerrards aswell and I don't think liverpool are in the best financial situation to do that. {Ed002's Note - What has it got to do with Gerrard? You think he hets a bonus every time Liverpool buy a player?}

Can't believe ppl are believing this story. Brendan Rodgers doesn't have the balls to bid for Sneijder he's all bark and no bite. He will be sacked in the summer when Liverpool finish 12th and Suarez goes to an ambitious club.

Yes Rodgers will be sacked. We'll finish 7th. Suarez won't leave

30 Dec 2012 10:38:27
Can't see sneijder rumor being true, wouldn't he want 200k + per week?

Cheers

Wouldn't it be nice if a player of his calibre just said make it £80, 000 a week that will do me because I love playing the great game.

Reusch.

Dosent every player

Just 80k mate.

Some names to look out for in the Transfer window.

Will Hughes, aged 17, 18 in April, midfielder, Derby, £5m
The Championship's answer to Jack Wilshere, Hughes has got a bit of everything, and at just 17 he is one of the hottest prospects in English football, let alone the Football League.

Wilfried Zaha, winger, Crystal Palace, £15m.This season he has aligned a work rate and a decision-making prowess with his outrageous skill set and blinding pace and is rightly rated at £15m-plus.

Jack Butland, goalkeeper, Birmingham, £6m.After a couple of early season blunders Butland has been showing his class in recent weeks and he has an aura about him that only the best goalkeepers have. Liverpool and Southampton are expected to tempt the financially-stricken Blues with an £6m bid for the 19-year-old.

Charlie Austin, striker, Burnley, £5m, aged 23.An instinctive finisher with a strong physical presence, Austin has been nothing short of lethal with both feet and in the air this campaign for a stuttering Burnley side.

Thomas Ince, winger, Blackpool, £6m.Capable of playing on either flank or behind a main striker, Ince is blessed with a sweet left foot, a turn of pace, a bag of tricks and a goalscoring record any striker would be proud of.
Ince is likely to cost around £6m, but on current form he could walk into most top flight sides.

If this was a question who would you like mine is yes yes yes no yes.

redan

Will hughes is being courted by chelsea and spurs whilst zaha is being heavily linked to arsenal!

In January
Sneijder
Butland
Sturridge
Villa

Sturridge is the only one of those I thin k will happen
CR

30 Dec 2012 14:44:16
Id agree with Butland, Hughes and maybe Ince but would have to disagree with Zaha and Austin. Zaha is in my opinion overated. £15m is a bit high, £10m is a price worth paying for his potential, but is he as good as Sterling. Austin, at 23 should be a regular prem striker or at a top club if he is of a quality to produce at our level. Zaha has been watched by some top clubs, so his potential is there, but Austin isnt being chased by other top clubs and there is a reason for that.
Butland best British keeper coming through, in my opinion more potential than Hart had at a similar age.
Ince is a truly attack minded winger who in a similar fashion to Ronaldo looks to put the defender on the back foot, pushing them into the box, im obiously not saying hes as good as Ronaldo but has a similar style, without as much sbowboating.
Hughes I have not seen much of but I do know hes highly rated.

Anfield Andy

Hi eds
What is the possibility of Zaha from palace? I know there is a lot of clubs tracking him, but he would be worth throwing some money, he is young, very skilful, quick, can score goals, best mates with sterling and admires Gerrard and we could probably get him for a modest fee.

Great site and all the best to all LFC fans. Keep the fingers crossed for next year. Ps I think the players coming in will be sturrage, ince and diakate from lazio to bolster our defence. Maybe also butland but not see him until next year.

Your thoughts are appreciated! {Ed002's Note - I don't think that there is any interest in Zaha from Liverpool at this time, so chances are very slim. Crystal Palace will look to hold on to Zaha until the summer and if they get promoted perhaps after that too. He was to be allowed to move this past summer at the right price with Sunderland, West Ham and Reading look possible destinations. Liverpool have certainly looked at Zaha in the past but there is strong interest from Arsenal and Manchester United and perhaps even interest from Spurs. Game time will no doubt be a factor in the short-term.}

Rather have Ince, what has Zaha done to juisfy his price tag of around £20m or so, Ince scores goals and creates more chances.

Hello Eds,
is it true we have enquired about Guillaume Hoarau of PSG ?
is it on a loan or permanent deal ?
I would happily take a Jan window of sturridge, Ince and Hoarau possibly even Butland. {Ed002's Note - An enquiry was made by Liverpool about his availability. They will not be looking to loan him out as he is out of contract in the summer.}

Probably get slated for this, but I've been told that Henry has put the sturridge deal on hold until after the QPR, Sunderland and Mansfield games. If he fails to get 4 points from the league games and doesnt get past mansfield he'll be sacked. No idea who the have in mind to replace him with. Just passing on what I've heard.

TDH.

A difficult one for the owners. I do not believe they will make a decision on BR until the end of the season but do they back him in the transfer market bearing in mind the players he has brought in so far have had little impact. I don't think big money will be spent, just what is absolutely needed.

" b*******", or words to that affect .Nearly19

So Liverpool sack Rodgers(!) and appoint a new manager who will want to sign players such as Sturridge. The owners realise that it's not feasible to have a new manager every six months so in my opinion Rodgers has at least until the end of the season by which time I believe that he will have shown that he is on the right track. Remember the name (Rodgers' - not mine!).

Yeah this must be true because you were spot on with the last rumour you posted.....

I hate to burst everyones bubble, but suarez's "re-sign" is just a ploy to up his price, FSG have already told BR that every player has his price and if those valuations are met then they will be accepted, then it will be down to the player to decide whether he stays or goes (its called business) From what I'm told the following prices are what FSG will accept - Adam - 6m, Downing - 8m, Agger/skrtel/Carroll - 20m, Reina/Suarez - 25m. Expect offers for Agger/Suarez and Reina on the tail end of the window. Interest in Dempsey is all but gone unless they accept a part-ex including adam, talks are ongoing with ramirez however it looks likely his head will be turned by citys £s. Expect arrivals of 4 players before the EOW, depending on leaves these will be GK/CB/winger/playmaker. cant "confirm" any as NOBODY knows for certain yet.

Brilliant!

So we're going to pay half the Summer transfer budget in compensation to Rodgers and his assistants, and then to another team for their manager.

Does anybody really trust Ayre/FSG to pick the correct replacement?

"Does anybody really trust Ayre/FSG to pick the correct replacement?"

I would, if there were going to. But they're not looking for a replacement. This post is a load of cobblers.

Its jus a joke lol. He wil be backed and given time.

Obviously a blue or a manc saying this

Hi was just wondering given the very thin squad that we have this season even though we are looking to improve the quality of the first team are we also looking for more depth and quality in terms of back up and squad players, if so is there any chance that we have looked at some of the following players due to them being out of favour or bit part players at their current clubs: nzogbia, bent, albrighton, callejon, kaka, sneijder, villa, alexis Sanchez, keita, welbeck, piazon, benayoun, Marin, Danny graham, chamakh, Ramsey. I know some of these players may not be the best quality plans some mag be realistic for wages etc but j was just wondering if we had looked knot any of them either loans or short term fixes on transfers cheers {Ed002's Note - You should try the search function. Your list contains a mix of players wanyting £200k per week, injured players and youngsters, one of which only made his league debut this week. It really is something I cannot take too much time to answer.}

30 Dec 2012 07:46:50
how many attacking players do you think will come in? its pretty obvious ince and sturridge will. but sturridge cannot play in the europa league so do you think B.R will look for another striker who can play in europa league with experience {Ed002's Note - Liverpool will not be buying players just for the purpose of the Europa League.}

Sturridge can play in Europa league {Ed019's Note - No he can't}

30 Dec 2012 07:34:28
hi guys what are the chances of Theo Walcott signing in January {Ed002's Note - Try the search engine please.}

After saying he should be playing centrally, finally getting his way, and answering with a goal shower - (14 in 20 games this season); it appears he has more knowledge on team selection than Wenger, and might replace him as player-manager.

Would love the Sneijder story to be true, but with so many other suitors I doubt he'd join.

Could be true we have enquired about him, but I think if he goes anywhere it will be to replace fat frank at Chelsea.

Jonesred

Sneijder here we go

Sneijder was available when Rafa signed Aquilani - does he rate him? Will Rafa be overruled from on high at the Bridge.

Hi ed's great site very adictive! Have a question on butland, reports say that we are in talks with him is this true?

And about sturridge done deal i think is great but whats the hold up on ince? Because i believe those are going to be are only signings maybe a surprise getting holtby, ba r sneijder if downing and cole leave. {Ed002's Note - Liverpool have certainly expressed an interest in Butland via his agent. The Sturridge deal will likely go through early in the window. The Ince deal is held up as no offer has been accepted just yet.}

Butland to replace Reina

I doubt Butland is ready to replace Reina yet and Jones has just signed a new contract so we are not short on keepers and I would not have thought we would sign another to play reserve football.

I suspect Inces dad is asking for to big a salary. I think that is why we let him go in the first place.

We let Ince go because his dad wanted him put straight into the first team, Kenny didn't think he was ready, Blackpool thought he was

Eds and Reds,
What are the chances of Liverpool getting Beñat Etxebarria from Real Betis? {Ed002's Note - If Benat moves in January then Atletico Madrid might by an option. CSKA, Arsenal and Wolfsburg have shown some interest in him. Txiki Begiristain has, as reported, an interest in taking him to Manchester City. It is beginning to look like the summer woul be more likely.}

Could the Sneijder rumour be true
Omg

Could be true but doesn't necessarily mean we will make an offer. Sneider does link with what Rodgers has recently said about experience etc, so I do believe we may go after him based on that but I'm not too sure much will come from it. Not sure his wage demands, whether he would come to us not being in CL etc but I think we should have a crack at it.

M

Dont get ur hopes up. i can tell u that sneijder has bigger ambitions then liverpool. liverpool is a 10th place team. he will not play for us. wake up guys!

^Could be true and we could make an offer but that doesn't mean he wants to come to Liverpool.

No chance. Sneijder isn't overrated and isn't English. Plus 10 mil is too cheap to spend on someone who isn't overrated and English :-|.

God i wish it was true , he could be that #10 that BR was saying we needed . Guinnessred8

Even if Sneijder would consider liverpool, (which he wouldnt), theres no way in hell we could possibly afford his wages.

WE cant afford him .??
What I do know is theres about £150k doing the square root of f..k all at Anfield every week Mr Cole and Mr Downing being the culprits utilizing their wages and the cash hes got in this Jan window must put him well within our budget,
it must at least make it feasible whether he wants to come to Liverpool is another matter entirely.
BozrogMcGurk

Yes oh am so excited

Liverpool aren't a mid table side

^ ha good one

I follow an English/Italian football journalist and he tweets that Liverpool have contacted Sneijder. He alaso tweeted 'Not only Liverpool contacted Sneijder, also rumour(not confirmed)that Inter might have been informed that Liverpool would pay 10m ' He is trusted, what do you think of this?

Trusted? Please explain?

THe journo is question talked absolute nonsense regarding the Gaston Ramirez story in the summer.

Complete bull. he will not sign a a 10th place team, with a squad full of 17 and 18 yr olds. hes got bigger ambitions. realise where we are at the moment guys, its a miracle if we still have suarez after this next summer...

Absolutely agree with the first reply - this "trusted" journalist, through the medium of twitter, said Gaston Ramirez to Liverpool was a 100% done deal

Joe

More chance of me signing I think mate!

Messi :-)

Cock n bull story!

Count me in too.

Iniesta.

Whoever this guy is: Tancredi Palmeri has said liverpool have contacted inter for Sneider (spelling) anyways he also says liverpool willing to pay a figure of €10million

M

Would love it to happen but surely inter will sell to the highest bidder and it wont be Liverpool .They would have to pay him probably 150 k a week and I am not so sure they would . We can dream a little though .

Eds and fellow Reds,
What are the chances of Adrian Lopez and/or Kevin Gameiro? {Ed002's Note - I thought that although Adrian Lopez was of serious interest to Arsenal, with Podolski and Giroud arriving interest would have waned - but it hasn't and he remains one player that could make the move in January. Spurs also showed interest in the player but their bid was rejected. Atletico are looking to hang on to Lopez and are looking to have him agree a new contract. There has been long term interest in PSG's Kevin Gameiro from Lille and Dortmund; Everton and Kuban Krasnodar are showing interest in the player but Everton could only likely fund a loan. A move in the summer seems more likely than January.}

So a move to Liverpool for either player is unlikely? {Ed002's Note - I would think so.}

29 Dec 2012 23:59:30
Good evening Ed, I'm not going to talk about very unlikely targets like Llorente, Walcott or Dzeko I just wondered how likely you thought a move for Jeffrén on loan may be? Possibly our only signing along with Sturridge?

Chris in Tamworth {Ed002's Note - It would not be a surprise but it has gone quiet recently Chris. Liverpool has made an enquiry about taking Jeffren Suarez on loan in January. During the summer window Liverpool, Sevilla and Napoli all showed an interest in a loan for Jeffren after his first season at Sporting Lisbon was impacted by injury. Despite rejecting loan moves in the summer he has now fallen out of favour in Lisbon following some poor performances meaning a loan might be now feasible in January. However, given (a) he is not playing well, (b) Barcelona retain and option on him, and (c) he has a ridiculously high release clause in his contract, it would be near impossible to sell him on the Iberian peninsula and it may be tough to sell him elsewhere right now.}

Are you guys lovers or what {Ed002's Note - That is really a question for WonderDogSparky on Twitter - I know Chris did make an appearance at one time, as have several of the regulars from this site, including Blair.}

29 Dec 2012 23:58:51
Hi what's the chances of coates leaving. I think he is a very good player he justs needs a chance to impress. {Ed002's Note - There is interest in him. Try the search function.}

29 Dec 2012 23:58:31
Just wondering eds do you think Robbie Keane could be a possible Loanee signing rodgers would be interested in ? Done well last season when he was on loan at villa ..
cheers

CartyLFC95 {Ed002's Note - I would doubt it.}

If u knew reason he was sold last time u wouldnt even ask this

Kev

Hi eds, what are the chances of us signing diakite? Thanks {Ed002's Note - I don't know. Diakite will be free in the summer and has been refusing to agree a new deal at Lazio. He could sign a pre-contract in January but a bid is expected from Genoa. Bordeaux would be interested in taking him in the summer for free.}
