Evening ed's. Is sanchez still wanted by barca or is he up for transfer. What region would his transfer cost? Think he would be an awesome addition to our squad. Cheers. P.s I think we will beat utd. {Ed002's Note - Barcelona wanted to sell whilst the player wanted to stay. The manager is happy to let him stay and he has been playing very well.}

Hello Eds,
a question for Ed002,
What is the current situation with Martin Montoya?
I mean do Barca want to keep him or are open to a sale because he only has one year remaining on his contract and would be an excellent replacement for Johnson who has been poor for a while.
Also the lad will most likely be on less than 1/2 of Johnson's wages (reportedly 90K/week).
Would be an excellent buy in this window or Jan (more likely). {Ed002's Note - Martin Montoya has been subject to rejected offers from Napoli and a loan offer from Monaco who opted for Tavares instead. Inter made an enquiry but Barcelona have made it clear they do not wish to sell him.}

I understand that we overpaid for Glen Johnson, I think that was more about getting a little bit of the Peter Crouch money back at the time, but I just don't understand the constant stream of criticism GJ gets. The guy is a solid performer week in week out and a game changing threat. No amount of slow motion "analysis" by hacks should sway people that he's not a solid defender either.

Agree1 Disagree0

He is not a solid defender.

Agree0 Disagree1

01 Sep 2013 16:22:28
and on today's evidence? he is solid, the only time it appears otherwise is the transition between attacking on the right and being countered, and that's why we play lucas

Ed any truth in this Given move? If so do you see a keeper leaving? Also would a clause in Reinas contract for a call back in the event of a long term injury to our keeper not have been possible? {Ed002's Note - I am not hip to any interest that Liverpool might or might not have in Shay Given. For me it would be an odd move unless Brad Jones was moving on. I have no idea what Reina's contract says in it.}

Believable1 Unbelievable8

Maybe if it's just to be second choice until the end of the season and take up a coaching role afterwards? That would make a little bit of sense.

eds,
with the portuguese transfer window shuting at 6 pm
this evening, am I correct to assume that Llori can still sign for Liverpool anytime up until monday night.

cheers {Ed002's Note - Yes, because the window is still open here. What they cannot do in countries where the window closes earlier (Scotland, Brazil etc.) is buy players.}

Believable17 Unbelievable3

The window in Portugal is open until the 2nd of september

Any recent news on Turan Ed?
(Doubt if this post will get through as I can't seem to get anything through to you) {Ed002's Note - Arsenal would like to get a deal done Chris - and this is the first post of yours I have seen this week (although I was a way for a couple of days.}

Believable4 Unbelievable13

I've been sending several posts a day but something's obviously going wrong somewhere :(
I'm praying that we'll go in for Turan
By the way loved your comment about wether the poster had had "Llori" printed on his shirt yet
Funny {Ed002's Note - Maybe you upset another Ed Chris?}

Agree1 Disagree0

Definitely Ed001 on occasions and probably Ed033
With any luck I'm back! {Ed001's Note - not upset me Chris, not even seen a post come through from you to be upset by mate. Do you have issues with your wifi? I find I can't edit from anything other than my desktop if it is raining, for instance, as it seems the rain affects my wifi signal.}

Agree2 Disagree0

Would love it too Chris, more than any other signing but fear it won't happen. Not sure LFC have an interest at all which is a shame

Agree2 Disagree0

I am having the same problem 'again' on the MU page. {Ed002's Note - You will need to ask the Eds there Syd.}

Agree0 Disagree1

Turan would be the mutts nuts of signings but doesn't seem likely. Quite like the idea of Yarmolenko though if we can get him. Very different from what we have just now and knows where the goals are. Very pleased so far with BR's signings. Hoping to be overjoyed by Monday.

Hi ed
To start I don't buy into all of this spurs are steeling our targets nonsense but do you think spurs might come in for sako as they are looking for a left back and could probably do with another center back hope we can get a deal sorted as would be gutted if we miss out on him.
Cheers. {Ed002's Note - Sakho is a centre back who can play left back. Clubs will not look to buy players for a primary role which is not natural and their interest in a left back rests elsewhere.}

morning edds hear sakho nearly done 23 m euros how come its so high thought they were after 13 i'm not to fussed as long as we don't mess about and get it done cause think he could be are next agger! and ed 002 any news on were u think damiao will end up if its true bout multiple owners will be hard to get it done in two days cheers

{Ed002's Note - PSG were looking for €20M for Sakho as I have explained. Since Napoli and Marseille had not been able to agree a deal for Damiao I am only aware of one enquiry for the player, but no offer. And it wasn't from Liverpool. Logistically it would be tough to see anything happening in 48 hours. A few weeks ago a representative of Luis Suarez did tell one of the clubs that they are trying to get interested in their client that Liverpool will look to move for Damaio if Suarez was sold.}

I have a feeling Agger will be going, if a decent offer comes in I don't think lfc will hold back. With sakho's imminent arrival Agger or skrtel will be gone. With the reported fee we are paying for sakho he won't be warming the bench. Also with Llori I think rogers will test him out in the wingback positions

Agree0 Disagree5

Hi eds, just checking, are my eyes deceiving me or did I see a different answer about a twist in the next 48 hrs regarding the defence?. I understand if it has been takin down due to abuse as its the kind of info that trolls thrive on. Thanks eds and keep up the great work. You're info is second to none. {Ed002's Note - The post has gone.}

Surely he'd have to be getting on a plane now to have enough time to sleep off Jetlag pre-medical?

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Ilori will definitely be johnson's long term replacement as br will, as you say, look to retrain him at full/wing back. The guy's got too much pace to be a cb, or at least it doesn't get fully utilised in that position. I highly doubt Agger is going, think Skrtel will be off for 9-10 mill. I fully believe Sakho will become one of the best CBs in the world at Liverpool. Future captain.

I fully trust Rogers. The guy is class and our team look lethal at the mo. We just need to start smashing the goals in from the chances so another attacker would be good to replace downing, although i'd rather rotate sterling and ibe. I don't think you can say anyone is too young to play football, certainly not attacking players anyway.
PoorWayne (formerly SuperDuperSuarez)

Agree3 Disagree0

Eds, correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Sakho a left-sided CB? If so it doesn't make a lot of sense to spend that much on a player who occupies the same spot as Agger. Aren't we trying to find a partner for him rather than a replacement? Any insight would be greatly appreciated! {Ed002's Note - Think squad not team.}

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Aug 2013 02:10:38
hi eds

were about to spend over 20m on 2 players, do u see it affecting our chances for a quality attacker? by quality I mean yarmelenko or a player of that ilk. cheers mates {Ed001's Note - nope, they are not connected.}

Believable14 Unbelievable3

I hear what you are saying ed001, but the echo has reported there is no truth in the Yarmolenko bid and we are pushing for moses. Would be mildly disappointed if that happened, but sadly not surprised.

Agree2 Disagree0

Why would you be disappointed Fatboy? Scoring and creating goals is not a problem, midfield is settled and so keeping goals out is a priority. Sakho & Ilori (if they live up to the hype) looks an awesome and well balanced partnership for many years to come. This season we'd have great competition at the back and Moses ( if he comes) is better than Assaidi and Aspas more versatile than Downing. That means every department strengthened.

Agree4 Disagree1

Midfield is settled?

we have 3 fit centralmidfielders

midfield is light if you ask me

hope we would bring willhughes ina another option

Agree0 Disagree0

Moses is NOT as good as Aspas

Agree0 Disagree0

Adam you've read that post wrong and I also believe we've really strengthened. The only worry for me would be anything happening to Lucas as we look light in cover there.

Moses is not amazing but he's better than people are saying. I'd rather we hold money back and get another "Coutinho" or "Sturridge" in January if we need them.

According to aBola, the deal was finalized at 07:00 For all you Portuguese speakers.

7mm eur, looks like they have some bonuses and a residual interest in sell on fees, and the balance of Insua debt is cleared

Believable21 Unbelievable3

Portuguese speakers?

Google translate solves them problems

Agree2 Disagree0

Clause gives them 25% of the sell on fee according to the article. sounds a bit excessive.

There is no truth in reports that the Reds have bid £19.7million for Dynamo Kiev winger Andriy Yarmalenko.

Liverpool Echo.

Believable30 Unbelievable41

Depends where the Echo has gotten this info, if it's from the interview earlier where BR said he's never heard of him, then I wouldn't pay attention because he said we we hadn't bid for Ilori.

Damiao to Liverpool?

Heard a whisper of an official bid being made 2 days ago.

Cheers

Believable20 Unbelievable49

Yeah, I heard this rumour on Tancredi Palmeri's podcast. Apparently the source is very accurate. Let's see.

Agree1 Disagree2

You don't know anything, who get it from twitter off a Italian journalist.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hmm Tancredi? The guy is a charlatan

Well they said lpool havnt even made enquiries for the player and are unsure if we could even afford him haha . lucas has also stated he knows nothing of the transfer
