Hi Ed's

Do we have interest in Bristol City's Lloyd Kelly?

Believable3 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - It is an interesting question. I cannot say whether or not there is any firm interest in Lloyd Kelly, but I can say that Liverpool have looked at a couple of younger CBs as I have explained and other potential options like both Lloyd Kelly and Aidan Wilson who have been "recommended" to the club by an "agent" who may be open to cutting corners. More than that I cannot say without some issues arising.}

Never heard of him, is he any good?

Lloyd Kelly is still very young, 20yo i believe. He is tall, a very good athlete though need to bulk up. Has good technical ability but needs to work on reading of the game and his defensive skills as he tends to use his physical attributes more at the moment. Currently he plays at LB though he is expected to play in CB in 4-5 years time (a bit like how Gomez has progressed you can say) .

Seemed to be highly rated in Bristol and at England U21 level.

Hi, just a quick one on Lloyd kelly, I’m a season ticket holder at Bristol city and kelly is a local lad who is highly thought of, very quick, lovely left peg, tall and strong, but seems too relaxed sometimes, he is prone to making quite a few mistakes, but he’s very young and still learning, and I agree with the Gomez comparisons, he’s played centre half a fair few times for city already this season and he’s certainly one who looks like he has the potential to move up a level.

Huddersfield want to sign Moreno in January but will wait until he becomes available in the summer if necessary.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

{Ed0333's Note - i don’t see Moreno going to Huddersfield and certainly not if they get relegated.

I don't see him going anywhere in January, summer yes but not to Huddersfield.

A pie and pea supper at the Wheeltappers and Shunters Club would broaden his cultural horizons though.

They would like him on a 6 month loan until they can officially sign him next season.

Although he’d prefer a move abroad, also arsenal are said to be looking at him also.

If Moreno is the answer then Huddersfield have seriously asked the wrong question, what they need is a goal scorer because 12 goals in 20 games is relegation material.

I know Diego Laxalt was mentioned as a possible left sided player (LB/ LM), but is there any sign of revisiting Julian Brandt as a left midfield option (instead of LW)?

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - I wouldn’t think Liverpool willlook to buy him and then pay him out of position on the odd occasions he is required. If Salah or Mane were to leave perhaps.}

31 Dec 2018 18:38:17
OK I thought he played LM as well.

Anyway Ed2 thank you very much for all your hard work and info in 2018. I hope 2019 brings you much joy peace and health. Happy New Year. YNWA.

{Ed002's Note - Julian Brandt is an out and out attacking LW.}

31 Dec 2018 23:42:48
I’m not saying we are going to get brandt, but why do we have to sell to buy? City have mahrez aguero sterling Jesus sane and silva who all play in the front three positions. We have salah mane Firmino Shaqiri and Sturridge who are first team. When city signed mahrez we didn’t say well who is leaving then? Shaqiri plays in the middle a lot anyway, we don’t have natural pace as an option on the wing, if mane and salah wasn’t available.

Doesn’t really matter who city has. We are well stocked up top.

We’re fine but not massively stocked upfront IMO. A long term injury to either Mane or Salah and we’ll be putting a lot of strain on Shaqiri as there’s no one else able to provide pace and goals from out wide (especially with the Ox injured) .

Hello Eds,
What about Nathan Clyne? Will he move to Cardiff in the winter window? I wish you a happy new year!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Warnock knows the player and Cardiff has an interest so it is certainly possible. The worry for the player will be thoughts of relegation.}
