John Barnes still thinks we'll sign texeira according to some reports. Eds say no, I know who I'm backing to be right.

Not a chance of signing Teixeira. I really don't think we will sign anyone before the window shuts.

Aaw the interview, pretty sure he said he hopes we will sign him, but he wouldn't be involved in it anyway, it was just opinion.

Dont think we could get the deal in time and wouldn't he have to do a medical injured, is that possible? Would like it if we had him but i'm not holding my breath.

Reports are saying we will go back in the summer but that was also said about konoplayanka.

It's definitely possible to do a medical whilst the player is injured, it's usually just a testing of the overall health, making sure they don't have any heart conditions etc that could cut short their career.

Looks like this alex teixeira saga is going to drag on the whole day. A few media outlets report LFC haven't given up on signing him.

Maybe just the media playing to create some excitement on deadline day?

Eds has dorext to Ian arye but John Barnes has dorect line to Henry. Its a difficult choice really.

Agree0 Disagree8

{Ed001's Note - Digger doesn't have any kind of line to John Henry.}

You post some weird comments Lee! One of the conspirators ed002 is always on about ;)

Agree1 Disagree5

01 Feb 2016 11:06:06
Digger does not have a direct line to Henry and I doubt Henry would have any input to the transfer, others will be handling it.
As for a medical on a record signing injured striker on deadline day - well we've been there before 😡.

We should walk away from this, we have enough injuries.

Ed002 can you see us making any bids for any you Schalke stars. Most notably Leon Goretska, Leroy Sane or Max Meyer.

Also out the blue, I'm watching Munich vs Hoffenheim . Nicolas Sule looks very very good. Will he be moving on?

Believable1 Unbelievable11

{Ed002's Note - (1) No. (2) I have explained about the interest in Sule and he may well move to England in the summer.

Try the search engine.}

Hi Ed's would like to check if there is a possibility to look at any back-up striker from Champion Ship.

I am talking about Jordan Rhodes.
Decent scoring record even if its in the lower league.

He could be a better Striker in place of Benteke.

Your thoughts.
Cheers.

Believable1 Unbelievable6

{Ed001's Note - it is unlikely to happen.}

31 Jan 2016 16:55:04
I'm like most fans love a new signing and th excitement of what it could bring but for once I think the right thing to do is sign no one unless they are the quality needed and most of the names being linked to us are not what we need if we are to become a top 4 club again. Liverpool being sensible for once.

People on here just want a signing no matter how average they are.

Hello eds
Do you expect us to get atleast one deal before the deadline day?
I suppose we won't be negotiating with shakhtar gor teixeira now. Have we further looked out for somone on a loan deal?
Berahinho maybe.

Thankyou.

Believable2 Unbelievable11

{Ed001's Note - no I don't expect anything, especially not a deal for Berahino.}

Could be a defining moment of the season this. we're desparate for someone to put the ball in the back of the net, just think that signing a goalscorer now could well be what gets us into 4th place or a win in the Europa League.

A gamble I know but the CL entry would (simplistically) help pay for it.

Appreciate all the other concerns about our finances but it's clear to all observers that goals are needed.

Looks like Newcastle are desperate enough to pay 20+ million.

Sign Andy Murray NOW!

He's been hitting the net well recently.

Hi Ed's Just a quick question. Do we regularly send scouts to Ajax? They have for years developed younger players who end up going on to bigger and better things!

Cheers.

{Ed001's Note - yes.}

I may be risking the wrath of ed 002 for mentioning random names but I saw a small report from a Spanish journalist that Denis cherishev is likely to move to the PL imminently. Probably has nothing to do with Liverpool and I thought villereal and Valencia were more likely but thought it was worth a mention.

Believable0 Unbelievable11

{Ed002's Note - No problem as Liverpool is one of the clubs that has been approached to see if they would be interested in sharing some of their English Pounds that players find so attractive nowadays. Real Madrid are now very keen to start recouping money from sales and removing players from the wage bill in preparation for their coming spending spree. Denis Cheryshev's agent has the remit to find a new club as only Villareal has been showing an interest and they don't have the wealth of the English sides. He has been touting the player around and has approached a number of English sides - starting with Arsenal. Subsequently there have been approaches to Chelsea, Stoke, Spurs and Liverpool to gauge any interest about a move in January. Certainly something can be done if a club were to move very quickly - if Liverpool has the money and are up for a knee-jerk reaction and an impulse buy then sure, it could happen. If they want to stay within the confines of what they have been looking at and not spend just for the sake of it, then it is less likely.}

31 Jan 2016 11:28:46
There's no point spending for the sake of it and I see nothing in Cheryshev that warrants spending money on him. I'd rather save the money and use it on a player who will actually make a difference.

Agree5 Disagree8

31 Jan 2016 12:20:18
I agree and I would have thought a pl club would have bitten by now if he were in any way worth the money Real Madrid are looking for. Apparently Stoke are looking at yarmelenko so they might not be a bad shout.

Agree0 Disagree6

31 Jan 2016 14:11:08
Is he any good? Where does he play and how would he fit in?

Agree0 Disagree7

31 Jan 2016 09:36:38
Hi eds do you see Liverpool making a late bid for Cheryshev and would Madrid be willing to let go?

Believable0 Unbelievable6

{Ed002's Note - Real Madrid had had a few approaches from clubs interested in taking winger Denis Cheryshev on loan or permanently this past summer with Kuban Krasnodar, Villareal, CSKA Moscow and Real Sociedad requesting a price. Previous interest from Everton went with David Moyes. Zenit and Metalist Kharkiv dropped whatever interest they had. Valencia spent their deadline day trying to strike a deal with Real Madrid, who have raised the asking price for the player to a level where Valencia stepped away. Real Madrid are now very keen to start recouping money from sales and removing players from the wage bill in preparation for their summer spending. Cheryshev's agent has approached a number of English sides including Arsenal, Liverpool, Stoke, Spurs and Chelsea to guage interest in a move in January. Right now the only offer on the table as far as I am aware is from Villareal who do not have the funds to buy him at this time and need a contribution to his wages paid. Unless someone acts very quickly I suspect he will stay where he is until the summer.}
