Hey eds, any interest in N'Koulou? {Ed002's Note - Yes but not from Liverpool.}

Hey eds
Is there any chance of Fernando Muslera of galatasary to replace Reina if he leaves? Also are there any other centre backs we may be interested in, apart from De Vrij.
Thanks, keep up the great work {Ed002's Note - Muslera will not be moving to Liverpool. There have clearly been a number of CBs that Liverpool has looked at and De VRij is looking less likely right now. Aside from those discussed, I personally would not yet discount Lovren and Zambrano.}

I would personally have Lovren or Zambrano.

Why is De Vrij looking less likely? {Ed002's Note - See earlier answers.}

Lovren, De Vrij, Dede, Zambrano. Two out of the four and I'd be happy.

Who are the other players discussed ED002? I can only remember Lovren, Zambrano, De Vrij and Gardos.

The real AG {Ed002's Note - Such as Amorebieta and Williams.}

Lovren is an awful defender, gets a lot of fouls against him in dangerous areas, I know as I am from croatia and watched him play 50 games atleast, and in lyon he has got 6 red cards. do we need him?

Hello Ed,
I read your post on De vrij and that Liverpool look a less likely destination because of the price quoted by Feyenoord. Any idea how much was the price quoted? around 10 million or even more?

I beleive he would be good buy at around 8 million pounds anything over that better look elsewhere. {Ed002's Note - I want to try and avoid too much discussion about money as it tends to confuse and upset many posters.}

I've seen a couple of people asking about yilmaz to Liverpool and you saying his asking price is too much. What was his price before when he was enquired by other teams as opposed to now because of his form? Thanks

Mike {Ed002's Note - A club enquired very recently and were quoted €40M - and a firm bid of €24M has already been turned down. They are hoping they don't regret it I suspect.

He's not worth 4 M

I don't think Cavani will cost anything near 70 million euros especially if he really wants a move.
I would think 35 million pound would secure his services.
I would love Aubemayang to come. any chance eds? {Ed002's Note - Two bids matching the requested €55M for Cavani were rejected in the summer. The price required has already been discussed with three clubs who will look to achieving a slight reduction on the €70M. After a year or so St Etienne Aubameyang has attracted the attention of Fiorentina, Manchester City, Chelsea, Manchester United, Zenit St Pete, Newcastle, Aston Villa, Spurs and PSG, probably amongst others. He has said in the past the one day his dream would be to return to play with a great Milan side. I understand that if a significant bid is made that St Et will give it due consideration. Such a bid is being pondered by Chelsea and by Fiorentina, and I suspect Manchester City will look again as an alternative to Jovetic.}

Ed is there anymore interest in Andreas Granqvist. I know we were linked with the player in November, and I think he would be an experienced solid unit to play alongside Agger. Are we still linked? {Ed001's Note - I haven't heard anything recent regarding him.}

Just read a report that Edinson Cavani could be open to a move to Liverpool FC this summer. No doubt his best friend Louis has been telling him how great the club and fans are!

Brad {Ed002's Note - Zero chance. Liverpool would need to sell Suarez and several others to afford him.}

No doubt!

What was it reported about his contract, a £55m buy out clause? {Ed002's Note - There is no "buy out" clause. The price is €70M and up.}

If Liverpool want a player than I am sure we could afford them, However this story is defiantly pure bulls**t. {Ed002's Note - Liverpool cannot afford to buy any player they wish - this is an extremely naive view.}

You lot are soooo funny, and you wonder all other teams fans call you deluded!

Much love

Much love words nail and head spring to mind! very very true!

03 Apr 2013 17:20:48
ed would you rate cavani above suarez then? {Ed001's Note - it is not about rating them, it is about their sale price and wages. Cavani's wages are higher and his sale price too. Doesn't make him better, just more expensive. Veron cost nearly 3 times Alonso's price, but there is no question who is better.}

I thought April Fools was on Monday?

No point selling Suarez and others, when Suarez is better than Cavani.

It just is not going to happen, Even if Suarez was to be sold i'm sure he would not even be considered as a "replacement" instead of paying a ridiculous 70 mil, why not get "the next Cavani" for a fraction of the price? and from what I hear they have full time scouts in South America atm so there could be a Gem out there somewhere, Let Man City splash 70 mil on him (that way him and Suarez are a drive away from each-other as they are buddies ;)

To be honest, even though Cavani is a great player, it's kind of fun to see us buy players like Coutinho and Sturridge rather than the megastars. Hope we get 2-4 more in the summer.

Seriously! Stuff it we'll put a little bid in for Messi and one for Falcao while were at! Get real son give your head a wobble!

RR!

Get your head out of the clouds mate

Good afternoon Eds,
Have Liverpool shown any recent interest in Mario Götze or Jakub Blaszczykowski of BVB?

Thanks {Ed002's Note - Any enquiry was made about Blaszczykowski a couple of years back. There has been no interest shown in Goetze Lee.}

Cheers for the reply ed {Ed002's Note - You are welcome.}

Goetze would cost a hell of a lot of money and will probably end up in Spain next few years.

03 Apr 2013 19:46:25
To be Honest I could only See Him being a Galactico Signing for Madrid in a couple of years maybe. Liverpool just do not have a chance

This would never happen we've got to admit and accept he at a better team at the moment

03 Apr 2013 22:07:15
Not true about Gotze, we actually chose To buy Henderson instead of him as both players were an option but funds were available for one of them a few seasons ago. And that is factual.

Story Eds is Flamengos Adryan being scouted by anybody? {Ed002's Note - There has been interest shown in Adryan Tavares by Real Madrid, Porto and Manchester United. AC Milan are looking a package together to take him to Italy in the summer.}

03 Apr 2013 15:07:27
Is there any chance Liverpool could come into the picture and could you put a price tag on him? {Ed002's Note - You cannot expect me to sensibly answer a question about a player who the club has shown no interest in at all when you ask "is there any chance".}

As much as we would all like to more Brazilians is that 1. They are usually part owned which makes it very difficult for English teams to sign them. 2. They require a work permit which most would probably not get, that is why most South American players end up in Italy or Portugal.

Hi eds!great site. ed002 some of your responses are heroic!
Any truth in the yilmaz rumours?have we actually shown any interest?cheers

Rusty nuts {Ed002's Note - Burak Yilmaz has attracted interest in the past year from Sevilla, Spurs, Fulham, Dortmund, Beyer Leverkusen and Newcastle. There are also unconfirmed rumours of interest from Liverpool dating from as long ago as early June. Lazio and Lokomotiv Moscow spoke with the player in January after the clubs agreed that they would meet the asking price from Galatasaray - but that has now risen with his recent performances. Chelsea were quoted a very significant fee when enquiring recently. Atletico Madrid remain very keen to discuss a move for the player but might struggle to finance a deal at the price now being asked.}

Hi Edds.
With him getting little playing time with the russians, is there any chance of a cheeky move for Marco Marin in the summer?
Tiff {Ed002's Note - I have no idea what a "cheeky move" is. Liverpool has shown no interest in Marin but if they were to make an acceptable bid to Chelsea and the player were interested in teh move then the club would not stand in his way.}

Wouldn't be a bad move as we would get him for around the £4M - £6M mark but would he be any better than Downing.

No idea. really?

Husni {Ed002's Note - Fee free to try and explain "cheeky move".}

As in, put a bid in for him without other clubs knowing. Therefore avoiding any kind of bidding war that may occur.
Tiff {Ed002's Note - Right, no problem then.}

Is a cheeky move like when you ask them to keep it private on football manager? Laughable

I have never played Football manager so have no idea what you mean.

Ed's should the reds sign mkhitaryan as a number 10 role?and what about centre backs Carlos Zambrago and Stefan de Vrij. {Ed002's Note - Shakhtar's Mkhitaryan is of interest to Lazio and interest possibly remains from Juventus, but the player is looking for a move to Spain with Barcelona or somewhere in England, preferably London, so he can get the very high wages he says he is due. Seems a bit of a flake to be honest. Shakhtar are looking for about €25M (although have said they want more) which seems high to me.

Zambrano is a player who has been looked at by Liverpool but I am not aware at this time whether they have made any approach to Frankfurt. A move would certainly not be out of the question.

Feyenoord's Stefan de Vrij was the subject of interest from Arsenal and Newcastle in the summer and a number of clubs have taken a look at the player this season including Spartak Moscow, Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool. . I understand that Liverpool spoke with Feyenoord about the availability of the player and a suggested figure was above what tehy would consider paying, although interest remains. Chelsea and Manchester United both have interest in other centre backs and seem unlikely to consider the player further. Advice to the player from somebody very well respected in the game is to stay where he is until the right move comes along and to remember he is club captain where he is and should not move anywhere to find his opportunities of playing are reduced and he is sitting on the bench.}

Zambrano seems to have all the potential an aspiring CB could need.
He has been happy to bide his time, realising CB's aren't made over night. Great character and wondeful talent. Worth pursuing!

Stefan de Vrij would be 1st choice alongside Daniel Agger if Liverpool were to sign him so it could be the right move for him, with Martin Kelly & Andre Wisdom providing back up.

Its going to be williams and that's that! Why do persons keep posting pathetic rumours such as these, eriksen and cavani to name a few? I know its a rumours page but what it doesn't say is deluded rumours

03 Apr 2013 00:44:09
Eds do you see Schurrle moving in the summer and to which team? {Ed002's Note - I cannot say at this time where he will actually end up but it is very likely he will move in the summer and Chelsea has had an interest for two years and will be making a further offer. Another EPL side (not Liverpool) have recently had him watched.}

Hi ed. who are the other EPL side? Thanks. {Ed002's Note - It was not Liverpool so should be unimportant to you here.}

Why is it unimportant he only wanted to know who the other team is. After all it is only a rumour {Ed002's Note - And one unimportant to the Liverpool page. I don't want to be answering questions about other teams on the Liverpool page.}

Good info from one of our youth scouts. We are keeping a close eye on two Anderlecht youngsters, Jaadi and Matthys. I know nothing about the pair, just that we are definately watching both. Anyone know anything about them?

Belgium is apparently the place to find players these days. Churning out some amazingly talented players.

More of a question than a rumour but hopefully the eds can shed some light.

With Lukaku coming out and saying he'd like another loan next season, is there any chance of us putting a loan offer in for him? He'd make a great alternate to Sturridge / competition for Sturridge in the number 9 role, and Rodgers has said he wants two players for each outfield position. Plus he's young, has premier league experience, and wouldn't be too expensive with Chelsea paying part of his wage. In addition to this he's fast, strong, has a good touch, and so far has 13 goals from 15 appearances, which is all good stuff. So ed's what do you reckon, any chance that we'll see him in red next season? {Ed001's Note - nope.}

If i'm honest, i'm very happy to hear a young lad make a comment like this, especially in this modern game of players more than happy on the bench at a big club while football waits for them at another top league club on loan.
He knows he's well and truly a part of Chelseas future, and is obviously more than confident in his own talent.
A round of applause for a young lad wanting to further his ability and knowledge of the game! Not a know-it-all like Christian Eriksen and the like, that feel the game somehow owes them a place in the Barca or RM starting line-up.

Lukaku will become a world class player within the next few years. I would love to see him playing for Liverpool although it is unlikely. The next Didier Drogba in the making!

In fairness to Eriksen I think he said he wanted to stay at Ajax for another season at least - probably to become a better player. And then he may move on. He expressed his interest in Barca or RM but that doesn't mean he won't consider moving elsewhere if these don't come in for him. {Ed002's Note - They won't let him run down his contract.}

He said a team in europe, so that's you lot out

He said a team in Europe RECENTLY.
He's changed his tune, since the spaniards didn't come knocking. My point was, the kid should be looking to play football, and he doesn't strike me as the sort of player who would be happy signing for a club like Chelsea and going on loan elsewhere.

Eds, just wondering with the centre back situation, if Liverpool would likely consider Samba, I would hazard a guess he may have a release clause? Althoough his wages may worry, however if we don't have to pay an astronomical fee for him it could be an investment should QPR go down.

Also has Scott Dann been scouted by any one!?!? He is still doing a good job at Blackburn, he was extremely good with johnson at Birmingham before his injury. He was quoted at £12 million 2 years ago in the prem, I think he could be a real bargain {Ed001's Note - no and yes, but not us.}
