Just read that wolves have made a 10 million pound bid for Origi.
Any truth to this eds?

Seems legit but the club is reportedly holding out for £20 mill. Let’s hope and pray a compromise could be reached.

I think we will agree on 13m with 2m add ons and 15% sell on clause.

And the contract will be signed in the room with the green carpet using Edwards’s cool blue Mont Blanc pen.

Some Turkisk kid on Twitter started the rumour. Apparently it's not true according to other "ITK's" on the app. So who knows?

I did mention on another users post re divock today that the noise was wolves and napoli interested. Have faith in edwards for the money side he always gets it right.

Straight swap for Adama?

For £20m the teams who would be interested in a striker would expect a decent goal return. Bit of a big risk to expect a bit part player to come in and be the main man and score consistently. At £10m the risk is worth it/ affordable as a sub striker.

@Fuser -

Solanke
Brewster.

Jkh they were both young and HG.

04 Aug 2021 11:59:25
Also Patson Daka was bought for just 20m at 23m. Yet every man and his dog seemed to want him to replace origi. If there’s such a marginal difference then surely keeping origi is the simple solution.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Aug 2021 12:34:05
I'm still sulking about Daka going to Leicester. Looks like a real talent. Good luck to him. and a fixed roll for my FF team 😆.

Agree1 Disagree0

04 Aug 2021 13:19:09
Daka has achieved nothing yet in a top league or top competitions its not comparable until he shows whether he can achieve at this level.

Brewster and Solanke so what if they are HG they barely kicked a ball and we got best part of £40 million for them.

Whilst I agree we overprice some players Divock has PL, CL and International experience given a run of games would score goals and has proven to be able to do so against top sides before today.

I don't get the need to undervalue players just as much as overvaluing them makes no sense either. Name another striker of Divock age and experience that you can buy for 10 million?

Agree6 Disagree0

04 Aug 2021 15:28:43
Origi scored a couple of clutch goals which is great but his highest scoring season was like 7? Or so. Even when he went on loan and played most of the games at Werder he only scored around that amount.
Clubs like palace who would be looking at him would need more than a 7goal a year striker especially if they’re going to spend £20m on them.
I don’t have an encyclopaedic knowledge of every player in the world. But I’m definitely certain you can buy a better striker for the 20m you seem to think he’s worth.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Aug 2021 17:49:25
Patson daka at 20 Mill, albeit with only experience in one league. With the talent he has at such a young age, is a way better investment than origi for me.
Who has played in one of the top teams in Europe being supplied by some great players and only managing a meagre goal return.
20 Mill won't happen in my eyes, tho we do have a knack of rinsing clubs for under performing forwards.

Agree1 Disagree0

04 Aug 2021 18:06:59
Origi has scored 34 goals in 157 games including some real beaters and arguably some of the most important and most crucial goals in the club’s recent history. Not bad nos. for a guy who barely ever plays and when he does, he is not even played to his strengths cos well, he has them. Now is that worth 20m? Hey, you are only worth what someone is willing to pay for your revives.

Agree1 Disagree0

04 Aug 2021 20:45:35
Oli, pre-C.V. I’d say 100% 20m but Liverpool is broke rn apparently and they have both v high sponsorship deals and the best tv rights deal on top of multiple wins in CL and PL. The clubs that are going to look at Origi don’t have anywhere near that, and as much as Origi can score a goal last minute against a CL team, they’re looking for someone to score consistent goals against the Burnley’s and Brighton’s of the world whatever the leagues. If you can get 20m good for you.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Aug 2021 21:22:06
Yes you right maybe ask palace how benteke is getting on….

Div in the right team with a full run of games cf will get 15 in all comps.

Agree8 Disagree0

03 Aug 2021 19:33:08
This is definitely a smokescreen for mbappe!

Agree9 Disagree0

03 Aug 2021 19:45:58
Can see Bobby and Hendo being left out of new contract talks, or at least not what they might be looking for. let's be honest, if Biss or Saul are signed, then its going to be a battle for starting with Thiago and Fab nailed on.

Agree1 Disagree0

03 Aug 2021 19:56:18
I don’t know why I am getting involved but Spaceman it’s obvious why Fabs is nailed on but what has Thiago done to earn the right to be a definite starter? Surely he has to earn that right this season.

Agree4 Disagree0

03 Aug 2021 21:04:29
Thiago is starting alongside Hendo and Fab if all are fit. That is the midfield that started at Everton before things went to hell in a hand basket which means that had always been the plan when he arrived. Don’t see why that would change.

Agree2 Disagree0

03 Aug 2021 22:12:15
That will change depending on form, fitness, a new signing etc. Gini ended up playing the full season. Hopefully Jones steps up to push for a spot and if we play the 4 forwards I would imagine Thiago would drop out.

Agree2 Disagree0

03 Aug 2021 22:59:37
Two reasons Mark

1. Klopp went on to a strike to get Thiago over the line. If he doesn’t start when fit then he would look like an absolute fool.

2. Someone who is excellent in press resistant, and has a sublime vision to pick a pass plus the only midfielder who could break the lines needs to start.

Who is he Inferior to in the squad today?

Agree5 Disagree0

03 Aug 2021 23:11:44
What does reason No.1 mean? Klopp went on strike?

Agree5 Disagree0

{Ed0666's Note - news to me also. It truly is a Peculiar comment. Maybe he has insider knowledge.

'Klopp went on to a strike to get Thiago over the line. ' - This is a lie, embarrassing yet again.

Here we go. The inventing and making up of stories has restarted. Outright lies to make a point, while smearing anyone along the way.

The Eds really should not be allowing this. Absolutely nobody else does it to this extent.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed0666's Note - eds shouldn’t allow what? am I missing something? Calm down, Calm down ArAy (I’ve always wanted to say that) you’re gonna blow a gasket.

04 Aug 2021 03:21:34
Ed0666, it's Harry with the lie about Klopp going on strike to get Thiago signed. You obviously haven't seen how far he goes and has gone in the past. Check with Ed001 when you have a chance.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed0666's Note - It amazes me how you guys pick up on Harry’s new aliases. I never can. I know Harry can be a trifle annoying and can rub people up the wrong way but try not to let him get to you mate. If he oversteps boundaries please know he’ll be banned.

04 Aug 2021 05:04:31
Calm down, calm down ArAy - love it to bits Ed 😁😁

Telling you coffee and toast is getting better snd better - shame we don’t have the old days when you could buy players during the season - now that would have been fun.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed0666's Note - I must be the only person that likes the system we have now a summer and winter period you can buy players. I don’t like the thought of you’re star striker being injured and not being able to replace him till January or the summer

04 Aug 2021 06:07:00
It's cool with me Ed0666, if it's okay with everyone else. I just wanted to point out that I don't allow anyone to rub me up, at all. I suspect you're confusing me with BarryinLouth? 🤣.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed0666's Note - Barry doesent rub as well as he used to

04 Aug 2021 09:55:17
Welcome back Harry lol! Can't beat a Harry rumour or for that matter a Harry outright fantasy story or kick off haha!

Markp08. Thiago has some weekly wages. Is classed as a worldie and he is a starter. Hendo should be too. Top 3 captains of my lifetime. Can understand with age and injuries it’s difficult to sanction a bumper deal. I would if we were cash rich and allowed heart over head. But it’s 2yrs on current. That’s 33-34. With two more seasons of treatment.

IMO I’m now in a place I’d think that win a top title in that time hopefully. Hendo lifts it. He’s 34 a legend and can go play for Sunderland or whoever his boyhood Favourite was. As a business he doesn’t need four years on top wage.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Aug 2021 18:15:36
Mark, that could be true but again it depends on who the opposition is. If a team comes and packs it in the way Newcastle at Anfield did last season then, we will need even more creativity and ball retention in midfield.

In that game, Thiago balled out and was playing defence splitting and blind passes for fun. Had the strikers done their jobs, we don’t even draw that game. Klopp took him off and many thought that cost us the game cos we couldn’t hold on to the ball and Newcastle came into us too much and scored. Tho, I disagree with this notion cos our strikers’ poor play cost us the game, there was some truth to that. We shall see.

Hi eds,

Has there been any clubs interested in taking Ban Woodburn on loan?

Thanks.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Sheffield Wednesday and probably others have a declared interest in taking him on loan.}

03 Aug 2021 14:22:00
Is Liverpool looking to sell or are they happy with a loan? has he ever made an impact at any of the clubs he's been loaned to? I always forget about BW.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - They will sell if they can but that seems unlikely.}

03 Aug 2021 15:11:23
Ed002 I think am right that he has only got 1 year left on his contract I can’t see anybody paying any sort of fee for him as he has not done anything on his other loans. Think the club should let him leave for a no fee transfer and put a sell on clause if anybody shows any interest in him if it works out everybody wins.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Yes but typically clubs will ask the player to sign a 1 year extension if they are going to be loaned. His value is low regardless.}

03 Aug 2021 17:09:20
Yeah, he has struggled to make any impact at league 1 level and he’s not a baby anymore. Not a chance he has a future at Liverpool and he’s got a fight on his hands to even make it at championship level imo.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Aug 2021 18:12:23
He gave it the big one at Sheff utd and since then it has been downhill.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Aug 2021 18:15:49
He may not make it here, but I think banning him is a little excessive.

Agree2 Disagree0

03 Aug 2021 17:47:58
Yeah his not going to make top flight football that’s why we should next expect to much from are youngsters. He was another one that was going to be the next big thing and not to many turn out like that.

Agree1 Disagree0

03 Aug 2021 19:54:18
It was the fans who said Woodburn was the next big thing based on a couple of cameo appearances when he was about 12 and the grown ups were injured. Spot on that the expectation on kiddies is way over-hyped.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Aug 2021 19:50:59
Think he's being a little unlucky with injuries too in fairness. If he can put his injuries behind him he'll have a decent career.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Aug 2021 20:38:27
What happened to him. Ojo. Ibe. They all had the coaching. The backing. I’m ready to put Wilson there too. Am I wasting my time looking at Cain, Gordon, Billie the Kid and numerous others each preseason seems our next Fowler/ Owen/ Sterling/ Gomez/ Gerrard?

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Aug 2021 21:07:00
GT, Ibe had mental health and depression issues that stifled him. It’s pretty tragic what happened to him. Don’t know about the others.

Agree2 Disagree0

03 Aug 2021 22:03:39
Oh. Ouch. Never knew about Ibe. Thinking back his persona Rarely looked excited or happy. Explains a lot. Shame.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Aug 2021 03:03:57
If memory serves me correctly, it was Klopp who was praising and hyping the kid (Woodburn) in interview after interview after interview, that first preseason. They jinxed the poor kid. 😔.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Aug 2021 03:35:15
Woodburn had bio-mechanical issues which contributed to injuries that have derailed his career. Maybe a move to Italy might work for him but certainly seems like his career is going nowhere fast atm.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed0666's Note - what’s a bio mechanical issue?

04 Aug 2021 03:35:52
GT I think the simple answer is the step up from u21 to premier league is much bigger than we all assume, both in terms of ability but also mentally. Of the 2-3 kids that look amazing at u21 every season and are hyped as the ‘next big thing’ very very few are genuinely capable of making the next step to elite level.

Guido Rodriguez latest to be linked. never heard of him or seen him play. Any good eds?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Guido Rodriguez (DM) The club have said that if someone comes up with his €75M release clause then he will be sold. There is no interest at that price but Arsenal have watched the player but without several departures do not need another DM player. It seems very unlikely the player would want the move after only being in Spain since January last year although Real Betis would be open to a sale. A reasonable fee might be €20M-€25M - but that may not be enough for them. If Liverpool are interested it would not be as a Wijnaldum replacement but more likely a Fabinho replacement - mankes no sense.}

03 Aug 2021 09:46:37
Thanks very much for the reply eds. Silly season sees us linked with everyone. Was just curious as never heard of him and so seemed rather left field. Thanks again.
