"Liverpool agree €15m Elia deal
Liverpool have kick-started their January shopping after agreeing terms to sign Hamburg midfielder Eljero Elia for €15 million.
The Reds desperately need reinforcement after a disappointing first-half of the season which saw them end the year ninth in the Barclays Premier League.
A lack of width on both wings has been a well documented problem at Anfield.
And manager Roy Hodgson has pin-pointed the speedy Dutch international as the ideal man to remedy the problem.
The 23-year-old signed for Hamburg from FC Twente in 2009 and impressed in his first season at the Bundesliga club.
But he failed to maintain his form the following year and lost favour with coach Armin Veh as a result.
According to Hamburg daily Hamburger Morgenpost, Elia is already on his way out of the club after agreeing personal terms with the Liverpool.
The winger will cost the Anfield outfit €15 million."

hope to god this is true

Ed i heard from my agent mate that we have put a €5 million bid in for David Bentley! He was good at Blackburn but has done nothing at Spurs. . Just thought I'd pass the info on (could be good but i don't think we can afford to gamble on players at this stage). .
What u think Ed? ?

plays good attacking football and is available now after having left hoffenheim due to one of his players, Gustavo Luis being sold without his permission!

IN RESPONSE TO:

{Editors Note: I agree on all of your suggested players apart from Contraeo (sp.)! I think he's another Johnson, good in attack, poor at defending.}

I see what you say Ed, but surely its better to have a FB who is at least good at attacking, poor at defending than Konchesky who is SH*T at defending and poor at attacking :)

no?

And if he is willing to learn, what better a role model/ mentor/ coach on working on your inadequacies than the likes of Carra?

PETER NUNN YNWA * * * * *

{Editor Note: We have problems in defence, one being a problem at left-back and I don't see it being resolved by bringing in a left-back who can't defend. We'd still leak goals. The primary aim of a defender is to defend. That's my view on it.}

I agree here with the scum supporter ha your new name lol. I think he would be useful as long as with have a defensive midfielder who does nothing but defend. Like chelsea too, they have two attacking fullbacks and mikel is there is to protect the back 4.

TRANSFER NEWS UPDATE:

People- drop the Ricky van Wolfswilly talk as he is not joining us - and to be honest, i am glad.

Commoli wants to improve Ngogs contract so that we can increase his market value and sell him back to a French club. 5m is where is valued at the minute but we want 8-10m for him. USELESS - so I would personally take the 5m now. Is it just me or was he bought by Rafa as a player for the reserves and youth team?? so why has he become a regular?

SO - OUR TARGETS:

Elia is the obvious one everyone getting excited over. This WONT happen as he is seen as a young disruptive talent- a bit too similar to Babel. . and you know the whole once bitten twice shy adege.

3 PLAYERS LINKED TODAY:

1) Coentrao - One i would be very happy with. Aurelio is average, Konchesky is awful and Insua has vanished. Coentrao had a decent world cup and scores good goals. I guess if we had him and Johnson we would have two genuine quality attacking full backs. That would justify having "hard working" but inept wingers like Kuyt! 12-15MILL and this would be very good business! Meireles being at LFC should help, although i doubt he is painting the club in glory to his compatriots at the moment.

2) Honda - Wanted mainly as he has been identified for his versatility. He is only 24 and fits the bill for the owners. Aquliani will be sold in Summer and Honda can be expected to arrive for around 15m. He is a sound investment but lets hope he doesn't have an amazing Asia Cup. .

3) Mata - This has been a player who was strongly linked under Rafa but went away . . truth is, Valencia still need the cash and have Pablo who has taken away the pressure of Valencia keeping a star in Mata after Villa and Silva left. Again- versatile as he caN play with Torres or out wide and at 22 might be a better bit of business than Aguero at around 18M as opposed to 30m!

AND A FINAL ONE THAT I CRAVE:

EVER BANEGA- looks so composed on the ball and tenacious in the tackle. He is another Mascherano in the making but probably- dare i say- with a bit more flair. We should get rid of that average fake brazilian Lucas and have Banega in there as a permanent CDM. If we could pair him with Gerrard, I firmly believe we would have someone to win the ball, not give away needless fouls attempting an easy tackle to try win the crowd. He would not be pushed off so easily, nor be beaten for pace by the likes of Gareth SNAIL Barry. Probably 10MIL

Imagine Honda Banega and Mata for depth and future and also Coentrao. . we would have adventurous width with a composed CDM. .

THOUGHTS ED AND FELLOW POSTERS?

Supposedly a young irish full back/ winger is on trial at the club, martin deady i think is his name!? done a bit of research and he has been with Limerick FC for the last couple of years. Dont really know much about him, but his age is 21 so it would appear he might be needed as a squad player rather than one for the future?

Elia has apparently agreed personal terms with Liverpool according to goal.com, also i have seen people on this a few times stating that Liverpool will be signing Joey Barton, when infact it is Adam Barton, a 19 year old northern Irish midfeilder who plays for Preston. Not sure if he is any good but i think that Elia would be a good addition and hopefully he can develop into a good winger as he does have pace.

Atletico Madrid's Argentine striker Kun Aguero on Sunday repeated his intention to keep on playing his football at the Vicente Calderon stadium.

The 22-year-old is now in his fourth season at the club he joined as an 18-year-old and that time has seen him develop into one of the most talented and improved players in the World.

He is reported to be on the shopping list of several major clubs and with Atletico not guaranteed a place in next season's Champions League, many players would be tempted to move on, speaking in sports paper AS on Sunday, Aguero insisted he intended to stay.

"I feel physically good and I am happy here. Atletico Madrid is my home and I also have a Spanish passport. I look after myself to be able to respond at the level I want to play at. I try and give 100 percent on the pitch for my team, because we are obliged to do so. It is part of the job, " said Aguero.

Atletico kick off 2011 sixth in the BBVA Primera Liga table after a start to the season that has had its ups and downs. They have mixed good performances along with disappointing defeats, such as the 2-0 loss to Levante and have also crashed out of the Europa League - a tournament they won last season.

"Every team has something they can improve and so do we, but that is normal. We are in form and we know what we have to do. Bit by bit we are resolving problems and so we have to be positive and have confidence in our work and the work of the coaches, " said Aguero.

"Our aim is to qualify for the Champions League for next season and to do that we have to finish in the top four. I think we are on track and we are working to achieve that aim. We are close to what we want to do and we hope to finish the season among the top four, " confirmed Aguero.

6 months of a true winger is well worth under 2 million marveaux. Any of suarez, llorente and aguero would fit the bill to help torres. elia really impressed me in the wc his blistering pace in the EPL the likes of ferdinand and terry will have to kick him and take him down and that will lead to pk's and free kicks for gerrard and hope fully honda.
my team would be
reina
kelly carra agger arelio
johnson/ marveaux, gerrard, meireles/ lucas, honda/ elia
torres, suarez/ llorente/ aguero

i don't care who you have as manager that team will get double the points we got in our first 18 games. Lets just hope whoever we do bring in fits the squad and can bring a much needed boost to a liverpool team that is down at the moment a couple wins, hopefully, from our games in hand puts us in 6th and then that will at least give us a chance to make top 4.

Stephen Ireland is supposed to be coming to LFC. I live in Cork & being a small irish city, word gets around fairly quickly. He is cheap, young-ish and can play in the premiership. He has been frozen out at villa and wants a move.

If u were from cork ud realise that its not a small irish city. . . its the biggest county in ireland. . also Ireland won't sign for Liverpool. . They don't need another player in that position and also if he can't get into the villa sqaud why would he get into the liverpool. . . he also has a lot of personal problems

I also live in cork but more specifically 5 doors down from where Stephen Ireland (AKA Tally) grew up in Cobh. I don't believe this rumor for a second cause if it was true it'd be all over Cobh

You all keep barking on about a replacement manager. Granted, Hodgsons not the housewife favourite but most players who've played for him speak fondley of him. What are you all going to do if LFC sign Aguero, Hazard, Elia, Marvaeux and bring in a decent left back. With those players in the side and youth players coming through the ranks, i'm quite sure Lilly Savage would be able to field a side capable of challenging for top 4/ title.

Liverpool Football Club will announce the signing of Sergio Aguero for €36m (about £24.8m) from Athletico Madrid on January 5th 2011.

This will delight all Liverpool fans as it will give Roy Hodgson more attacking options and a world class attacking partner for Fernando Torres.

Elia will also sign from Hamburg for €13.5m(about £9.3m) this will be announced within the next few days.

These more than likely be the only signings in this window

Roy Hodgson will be given until the end of the season to prove himself as the manager of Liverpool Football Club. Another evaluation will be made at the end of the season and his position will be reviewed.

Not so much a rumuor, more an educated guess.
Initially there is never smoke without fire as the saying goes. For me Elia would be a cracking signing young, quick, direct (something we are desperatly lacking) and can actually cross a ball. I'm fed up of watching us work the ball into a good area and then Kuyt balloning the ball off the pitch or failing to pass the 1st defender. Another striker is an obvious must for us, Aguero for me would cost to much especially in this transfer window a much more realistic target would be Gervinho with the obvious French connection we now have or danny Sturidge young ambitious eager to impress.
I love the pool and always will I just wish our players would pull up there socks and graft for there wage.
Yes Roy ain't the right man for the job but he has the job at the moment, we need to stick by him while he's here and hopefully move up the table.

In reply to:

"I've been saying ever since the takeover that Aguero would be the most ideal option to partner Torres and if this is true then all i can say is thanks to our new owners. . . A few more slightly smaller but just as crucial changes to our 1st team and it could well be EPL champions for us very soon."

D
I must warn you not to jump the boat just yet mate. Buying players doesn't buy success, look at Real Madrid and Man City it hasn't worked for them. It may have worked for Chelsea but that was after a few years of gelling together. So just because you sign Aguero doesn't mean you win the EPL. .
Not that im saying you will sign Aguero because at this stage you most definately will not. If Liverpool get to Champo League again then possibly but in honesty I can't see that happening for some time.
+£13m agreed with Hamburg for Elijero Elia (Holland). Expected in England at end of week.

Ed your input on the Aguero situation would be great thanks.

ED: would love to know your thoughts on Sanchez Florez from Ath Mad as manager. Ath MAd play great football and he is very good tactically. Has won silverware now too.

I always wonder why he is not linked with us. He is exactly what we need imo. (plus maybe Aguerro will come with him! )

{Editor Note: I have always had a high opinion of Flores. Has experience at big clubs, plays very good positive football and is tactically astute. Also a key factor is the great relationships he has with his players. He would be a decent choice, and certainly better than the likes of O'Neill.}

I hear lots about Sergio Aguero possibly coming to LFC, and I hear a lot about Torres etc potentially demanding to match his wages.

It is a fair point, but surely Torres needs to start earning his wages before he demands an increase. The guy is lazy, downbeat, tired, injured * delete applicable excuse.

Maybe if he starts banging in some effort, then he will surely deserve an increase in wages but for the last 2 seasons he has been below par.

Maybe Aguero arriving could kick Torres et al up the backside to start playing?

Saw someone said Kevin Doyle as an option, one of my cousins is a season ticket holder at Wolves and says he is s* te! If you want someone to run into the corners and win throws. . he's your man! Want a player to score/ set up goals, not fall over all the time - he is not the one, Wolves' best striker is Ebanks-Blake, who we made look pretty impressive last week. Liverpool are seriously looking at 3 strikers - Gervinho, Luis Suarez and Johan Elmander! The first 2 are the main targets and would cost between £10-20m a piece, with Elmander a backup option based on his recent form and lower price as he is out of contract in the summer.

Ed I read on ESPNstar that Liverpool have signed Elia. I am a massive fan of Elia and was wondering if there is any truth in the rumour. It would be the biggest news of a signing since Torres IMO and if the coaches train him right I can see him being a superstar. Personally I'd rather pay 15mil for him then marveuax for 2mil as I don't know much about him. Ed what do you reckon to the rumour and which would you prefer out of the two and is there any chance we could buy them both and play em on opposite wings.

{Editor Note: No-one knows at the minute mate. It is all rumours for the time being so lets not get excited yet. I don't know much about the two players to be honest mate. But Marveaux seems more likely based on what another ed has been telling us and on speculation, plus he was at Anfield watching the Wolves game}

Are these aguero rumours just carp?
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
I've asked many, many friends on social networks about Aguero and one contact from a website.

Here's the general "lowdown" if you like, based on what I know and have been told:

Aguero is a loyal player and has actually re-affirmed his loyalty to Atletico Madrid, and on other several occassions. He's happy at the club because the fans love him and he is playing a good level of football. He is settled with his family and kids in Madrid and is making a great wage, so he has no need to want a move. Atletico Madrid won't allow him to leave for less than his release clause which is 60m Euros, what, that's like £50m?

Now I'm not saying that Aguero would reject any offer that came in from another club for his services, basically he's happy to stay for now, but if another offer comes in he'd consider his options and move. Either way, he's happy. Diego Maradona has a massive influcene on Aguero, and apparantly has told him that his next career move should be Inter Milan in Italy, but Maradona has taken a liking to the Premiership.

Aguero is a professed Liverpool fan, but I gather that there has been absolutly no interest, or contact since he moved to Atletico Madrid. The only ones who know whether there will be a move are Comolli, Hodgson and Werner/ Henry.

Everyone says i work with someone who know someone whos someones friend but im not going down that route
heres my source:
i passed maxi the other day and we got chatin. he said that his mate aguero was over at christmas and there is a very good chance he will be moving. the one problem is, he doesn't know if roy actually wants sergio but maxi and torres have tried to persuade him.

this will happen if not in jan then defo in da summer

ed u heard wots happenin anywhere else rumour wise

cheers

Trumours {ed's note - I haven't heard anything about a move for Aguero, I have never seen it as a possibility because it would mean giving Gerrard and Torres a pay rise as well as his huge wages.}

ED, do you know why sylvain marveaux is available so cheaply? i have heard between 1 and 2 million. is it because he is not that good or has he fell out with his manager or something? or is he just a bargain buy?

I've been saying ever since the takeover that Aguero would be the most ideal option to partner Torres and if this is true then all i can say is thanks to our new owners. . . A few more slightly smaller but just as crucial changes to our 1st team and it could well be EPL champions for us very soon.

By the way Ed's, this is an absolutely awesome site. .

Glen Johnson is going to Real Madrid. . .with. . wait for it. . . . Kaka coming to the pool! There will be approx 18-20mil going madrids way also.
Finally LFC are making the waves we should be making!
This isn't done yet, but Guillem Balague will have this on SSN rumour mill tomorrow. . apparently Kaka is willing to accept no Ch league & believes they can make top four with him on board

We can all dream. Actually the new rumour going around manure circles is a straight swap - rooney for kaka. Mourinho desp needs a striker and will even put in money as well if required. Rather watch for that one.

Hello reds, haven't got a rumour but a little info that might get you think over time. I work in liverpool warehouse (bootle). I work on order picking but got told today I'm gonna be working on print (obviously shirts) but I work 9 - 6 and they have told me I've got to be doin 8 - 8 monday to friday and 8 - 2 on saturday for next to weeks. This only ever happens when we get new kit launched OR a new signin. For us to be doing them hours and for me to be moved then they must be expecting a serious amount of shirt sales. I'm not back in until tuesday but ill try find out what's going on and let you all know in the morning.

With response to this, the warehouse is no longer in bootle it move to another area in Liverpool approx 18 months ago. . i know this as i was in there in december.

i also posted information about Honda that seens not to have been posted

It is a signing and they will be wearing number 7 but don't no who it is. As for it not being there then before u call me liar I'd double check if its still there. It hasn't moved and I've been there for 4 and half years. We were meant to be moving (speke) which fell through.

Torres' agent has been approached by Man City as he has been "putting himself out there" as he has "had enough" of the state of LFC! This also coincides with Dzeko being hunted by other clubs. .City are keeping their options open.
Apparently Fernando is keeping v quiet about this and was urged by Reina to come out and stand by the club - but its obvious that his desire is gone.
Maybe this is a good thing as he doesn't seem to really want to be there! !
Not good for LFC on the face of it - but at least some big money to spend. .
Got this from a reliable source (ex-Tranmere manager who is still in the know)

Funnily enough, Im from SA and Barnes comes out this way a fair bit and appears on local football shows. He never has anything good to say about Torres (no heart, commitment, woefully off form etc). Was same during WC when he bashed him playing poorly for Spain. So makes you think. .

Realistic 11 after Jan: Honda & M'Vila. Then in the summer: Coentrao.

Torres
Babel Honda
Meireles Gerrard
M'Vila
Aurelio Agger Carra Johnson
Reina

What makes you think that Babel will make it into our 1st 11 after we make new signings when he not deemed good enough now? I'd love an out and out winger and a quality striker. Anything else is a bonus, anything less and our club will continue to go nowhere.

Coentrao will cost way too much. Get Borr Dort LB Schmelzer - exc young player. If Honda deal falls through, we should look at Goetze (AM for Borr Dort) - already full international and will be brilliant. They are doing so well and have wonderful players at present. Shinji Nakawa also excellent.

Lucas has a price of £10m, anyone prepared to pay it can have him. Athletico Madrid were interested but have just signed Elias, Villareal are interested following the injury to Senna, Malaga are interested because they have money and are interested in everyone! Poulsen is available as are Babel, Jovanovic, Johnson and Itandje

Heard a very stong rumour that a deal has been struck to bring Hazard to Liverpool.

Apparently, he had set his heart on going to Real Madrid, but an offer has not been forthcoming and we were his second choice - fee €20m plus add ons, dependant on appearances / goals etc

An interview has said that he would like to go to RM but he wouldn't go to sit on the bench, Hazard has said that he will go to the EPL and would like to play for Arsenal. Arsenal don't look like signing anyone in January so if we caan offer first team football and a decent contract we will be well in there

GENUINE RUMOUR - Torres' agent has been approached by Man City as he has been "putting himself out there" as he has "had enough" of the state of LFC!

And two players leaving: Jovanovic and Poulsen.

this is correct kenny doesn't like him or comolli. and hopefully the rest of you can see how S* t he is now after the bolton game, players ran rings around him and all he did was foul. a lot of ppl on this site say he is really an attacking-mid beind played defensive, that chance saturday would have been buried easily by an attacking player, even skrtel would have finished that. now come on people LUCAS is not a good player, tiote is but he is not main target he is alternative to m'vila. this deal is in summer when new manager sells lucas as NESV don't want to lose many players this january, rebuilding starts next summer, and the first thing to do is dispose of faulty foundations.

* * *

Very strong talk about this. Def something happening. Have heard Poulsen def leaving in Jan (not sure where). M'vila coming in the summer. Tiote being looked at as Lucas might leave as well and need cover for DM position. Comolli doesn't rate Lucas as DM.

Hi Ed Ive mentioned Suarez and Llorente a couple of times and nobody seems to think that either is on but can anybody confirm that we are at least making approaches? IMO it would be unthinkable to not even enquire. I don't think we are desperate in January for a CM as I think Merieles is actually a player that could partner SG in the centre. Mind you I also think that Jovanovic is a player we should stick with and I'd like to see him partner Torres ( not as a long term solution but I think he could be a good foil for Torres) Maybe I just don't know what I'm talking about?!?!?

maybe a new manager in the summer who plays an attacking brand of football could convince him to give it a season, fully fit, he may adapt? he is contracted to the club after all, think it would be a real shame to never see what he could have done in a red shirt!

Ok ive just been on the rumours section on lfc website but im not sure how reliable these rumours are so was wondering if one of the eds or someone who is a bit clued up can shed some light on the rumours.
The people who we are apparantley looking at are

Yann m'vila- Rennes
Sturridge- Chelsea
Marveaux- Rennes (pre contract)
Sordell- Watford
Elia- Hamburg

I know a few of these names have been bounded around on this site recently but which of these are most likely and is there anyone else who we ARE looking at for sure?

Alberto aqualani is still a Liverpool player with a great talent been watching him a good bit and he is running the juve midfield

{Editor's Note: I think it likely that the transfer will go through at the end of the season.}

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Alberto Aquilani's agent, Franco Zavaglia, told Radio Sportiva: "Aquilani? It depends on Juventus, but I think they will acquire the player now on loan from Liverpool. He's very happy in Turin, he found a positive environment where he can perform at his best. The experience in England was good, it enriched his international growth. Unfortunately he didn't play a lot due to injuries. Then he had to leave because he was no longer part of the new coache's plan".

The Juventus redeem at the end of season Aquilani , but Marotta could ask for a discount on 16 million set in Liverpool : no coincidence that the same amount to be paid even in cases Giallorossi . According to the newspaper, then it is possible that Juventus could ask a favor at Rome , who two years ago perfected the transfer of Aquilani with the British company at around € 20 million: a figure that currently only 4 million were

Juve and Roma working out what was still owed on the deal and funnily enough its about the balance due as lfc only made a down payment on him. Bu another salary off the books i suppose.

Jim22

{Editor's Note: I have no idea what your post is about - particularly the final paragraph. Aquilani was purchased from Roma for 20M euro and 5M euro is due as the final installment (in June 2011). As part of the loan agreement, Juventus have the option to buy the player at a fixed amount - if the do not exercise that option then he will be sold elsewhere.}

Totally agree with that mate Lucas can't shoot, play long passes or tackle the only thing he's got is alot of heart and a 5 yard pass. He's definatly not good enough we need a player who can tackle get forward and score goals like Gerrard can do in that possition.

Not to convinced with Elia if im honest with you, fair enough we are desperate for width and pace that without doubt he has but in my eyes no end product. The only plus i can see in this deal is the fact he is a winger at least this should mean no more central players out wide, on the other hand Sylvian Marveaux is an addition i would welcome i think the lad will be a great buy.

Whats your opinion Ed?

P.S Im not sure which editor i spoke to last night but i've heard Miralem Pjanic has been watched on more than one occasion do you know if there is any truth in that i think i may have missed the editor's reply.

Thanks mate,

{Editor's Note: Elia's a good player but I am not too sure you will see him at Liverpool if Marveaux is secured. If Pjanic moves I would expect his destination to be Spain.}

Think we need to look no further than Deschamps ( if we can get him). Think about it? Vast eurpoean experience. CL winner. World cup winner. Played in premier league. Only young but been in managerial game for few years. He should be our number one target without fail! any views any one?

Either he or Villas Boas are undeniably the ideal candidates in my opinion. I feel that Deschamps is the more likely of the two after Villas Boas' contract extension though and as such his lovely brand of football should be pursued!

Realistic signings for January:

Elia
Marveux
Llorente

I would like Honda too but I feel he would demand first team football and out of him and Llorente I know who I'd choose. With Bilbao's financial problems it would be possible too.

Thoughts Ed (I understand you don't really know who will be signed, but would you be happy with just these three this month?)

We seem to have Elia & Marveaux deals done. Now lets get Honda. We would still need a world class striker to give us options. (Hulk/ Suarez/ Llorente)

Just read the Hamburger Morgenposten ( I am a german speaker). The translation from Google is generally correct. Basically, the article says that he must make a decision whilst on the visit to Dubai. He did evaded the question - Where you in Liverpool on Saturday? - His response was 'I need to go into the changing rooms'. The Hamburg speculates Liverpool in favour of Wolfsburg for Eia because the Dzeko transfer to MCFC is breaking down. HSV return from Dubai on Thursday - so the bit about Elia being at Melwood on Thursday could also be correct.

Mr editor i get the feeling that the morgensport the newspaper of Hamburg is just like the Liverpool echo reporting stories about HSV!. They even have a section about HSV. So i doubt they very much would lie about the whole Eljero Elia thing. I know alot of websites and newspapers have claimed that other players have agreed personal terms and all the rest but i think this newspaper is a reliable source. i guess we will just have to wait and see. Do you think this move is a real possibility? . .thanks.

The "three teams in any one season" FIFA rule in practice only applies to players moving within their own FA within that FA's season. Konchesky is free to go provided he goes to a team that is not in the English FA. ie he can't go to Fulham, but could go to Galsgow Rangers.

So the Daily Mirror is both right (he can't move to another English club) and wrong (FIFA can't block him moving to a team in another FA)

RED LENIN

I was under the impression that Konchesky CAN go back to Fulham as he would still have only played for 2 different teams under the FA's jurisdiction. David Nugent did something similar a few season back I believe

In reply to:

"In my view, i fink we shud look at bringing in hulk for around 16-18m.

Reina
Johnson Carragher Agger Aurelio
Honda Meireles Gerrard Elia
Torres Hulk"

Hulk (Brazil) of FC Porto is a self confessed Manchester United fan and if he were moving to England it would be to MUFC. Plus he would cost a bit more than 16-18m.

I do think that Liverpool will sign a striker this window but I'm not sure who it will be. I know it will not be Wolvswinkle as Liverpool has lost interest in him after he played against them in the Europa League.

Any thoughts from the editor?

MPez {ed's note - we have had Hulk watched this season, well Porto anyway, but I can't see us moving for him either. I still think it will be one of the two French league players, Gervinho and Hoarau that are most likely.}

"Villarreal will be without Marcos Senna for up to ten weeks due to a thigh injury and have already enquired with Liverpool about Lucas' availability regarding a £4 million transfer.:

Rafa splashed £12 million for Lucas. NESV might take loses to be rid of players they inherited and who are not fully committed to the team, but going forward NESV will be much more cautious when splashing the cash. NESV has a great track record with their baseball team of bringing in the talent needed to win; they have an equal track record that nobody is bigger than the club, so players better get committed to the red shirt or they will find themselves pulling on a new kit.

Lucas has played his best football recently, so I hope he is given a chance to grow at LFC because he is the type of player NESV seems to want to buy, (young, committed), but if Babel wants to spin records then he can go DJ someplace else.

Ed. . .any news on Mata, Llorente or Gomez?. . . .we were strongly linked to all at dirrerent stages, and the links were never denied by the club / Roy (unlike Suarez, Ronaldinho etc ). . . the spanish duo are playing for clubs in a financial mess, and Gomez (although playing well, seems to have caused issues with van Gaal. . . would be delighted to see one of these @ Liverpool, but two would be even better (can't see Llorente & Gomez as they are quite similar).

If we buy Marveaux & Honda we won't be buying Mata (all 3 are left sided wingers and/ or attacking mids). As for Gomez, "Gomez is back in the side and scoring goals, he is going nowhere". That leaves Llorente as the most realistic of the 3. NESV surely have the money as they are the second highest wage payers in baseball. We won't know until it actually happens because they are doing things much more professionally these days.

Looking gud, as we seem to be close to completing the double signing of elia and marveaux to play on either wing. Hopefully we'll tie up a deal for a striker and possibly honda before the window is closed. Wolfswinkel is the cheapest option, but after his performances against us, i don't rate him. In my view, i fink we shud look at bringing in hulk for around 16-18m.

Eljero Elia could be on his way out of Bundesliga side Hamburg after Premier League outfit Liverpool expressed their interest in signing the Dutch international, according to a report in Hamburger Morgenpost.

Liverpool have been in disappointing form in the first half of the season and sit ninth in the table, and the club's new owners are believed to have earmarked Elia as the perfect winter signing, with personal terms reportedly already agreed.

The 23-year-old joined Hamburg from Twente in the summer of 2009 and impressed in his first season in Germany.

However, Hamburg coach Armin Veh isn't completely satisfied with Elia's performance this term and has benched the winger on more than one occasion.

Elia is far from happy with his current situation and could be on his way out of Hamburg in the January transfer window.

The report suggests that Elia has already agreed personal terms with Liverpool and the Premier League side are supposedly ready to pay €15 million (£13m) to secure the player's services.

Which was until now, VfL Wolfsburg as a top candidate for a commitment by the 23-year-old, seems suddenly the Liverpool FC the best card to have! Eljero Elia changes to the "Reds"?
The man is curt. Maybe because he does not want to talk too. "Ask the head of motorsport, " said Elia Eljero succinctly when he was asked about the trip from Dubai to his future at HSV. It just Elia knows probably more than any other.
Elia and Liverpool - what's going on? Probably a lot, gives you the rumors from the island of faith. On New Year's Day, the 2-1 against Bolton, the Vice-World Champion to have been seen in the stands of Anfield Road. Elia and Liverpool were the largely agreed that it is, the conclusion of the deal a question of days.
When Elijah drove up on Sunday at 12.20 clock to meet at the Imtech Arena, hooked to the MOPO. Mr. Elia, were you on Saturday in Liverpool? "Sorry, " said the Dutchman, "I must now, in the cabin." Aha . .

Liverpool agree €15m Elia deal

According to Hamburg daily Hamburger Morgenpost, Elia is already on his way out of the club after agreeing personal terms with the Anfield club.

The transfer fee is believed to be €15 million.

This is not good news for Roy Hodgson.

The Liverpool manager is on the hot seat, as an ESPN report says the team has already started a search for his replacement.

"Hodgson has been forced to apologize to fans over earlier comments about their lack of support for him and it seems difficult to picture the former Fulham boss emerging from his besieged position to turn Liverpool's disappointing season around, " the report said.

The Telegraph reported that a permanent replacement likely won't be hired until the season is over.

Potential replacements, according to the report, include Owen Coyle, Kenny Dalglish, Frank Rijkaard, Andre Villa Boas, Jurgen Klopp and Didier Deschamps. However, the report indicates that the team is not interested in hiring a temporary replacement.

I have heard from a very reliable source that Liverpool are looking at a number of different players to bring in in January or to try and strike a deal January for their arrival in the summer. But not every one of these players will arive, and are just a fiew players they are looking at in each area. These players are:

Fábio Coentrão (buy out clause astonomic)
Per Mertesacker

Sean St Ledger (Form dipped dramatically recently)

Stephen Ireland Far to much baggage and problems

Sulley Muntari

Kaká No chance

Lee Chung-Yong Asion cup till possibly end Jan like honda

Royston Drenthe ( I think he went on strike because of salary not being paid and is currently in dispute )Loaned fom RMadrid to alicante

Daniel Ginczek ( I think Klopp has put him out on loan but again rated and came thriugh the ranks) not expensive.

Gianpaolo Pazzini (Juventus fav for him as previously stated.)

Damien Le Tallec! (only 20 but rated by several clubs ) Dont know

Fabio Quagliarella (Another player (left back) with a reported app 30 million "buy out clause" Closely watched by inter the last 6/ 8 months and others.

Alexander Kerzhakov (28) Rusion Player of the year. Quote "'I'm not planning to go anywhere, ' said Kerzhakov, who was this week named player of the season in Russia. 'I feel at home here and I don't want to move anywhere.'
The 28-year-old recently admitted he had been made aware of Liverpool's interest, but wanted to wait until the end of the season before making a decision on his future.
Kerzhakov has revived his career in St Petersburg after a disappointing spell in Sevilla from 2006 to 2008 and his isn't prepared to risk the same thing happening in England

I think we will all be in limbo espaecially with the manager situation and our drawing powes has severely waned, more so this season. Jim22

Commoli was @ newcastle match . rumours emerged that he is watching tiote. .tiote will be a perfect replacement for old poulsen. .& his passing is better than lucasz, so he is good enough to start for liverpool. .a fee of around 7 -10 million would be enough to snatch him. he is still 24 the kind of player NESV favours. .

messi is fed up with life in an average barca squad, and a swap deal for poulson is on the table. THey are both very similar players in style and quality, but Guardiola likes the image that Danish defensive mid's give.

Tricky winger Eljero Elia could be on his way out of Bundesliga side Hamburg as Premier League outfit Liverpool have shown an interest in signing the Netherlands international, according to a report in Hamburger Morgenpost.

Liverpool have been in disappointing form in the first half of the season and sit only joint ninth in the table at the moment. Therefore, manager Roy Hodgson is eager to add to his ranks this winter and he supposedly sees Elia as the perfect signing.

The 23-year-old joined HSV from Twente in the summer of 2009 and impressed in his first season with the Rothosen. However, current Hamburg coach Armin Veh isn't completely satisfied with Elia's performance this term and has benched the winger on more than one occasion.

Elia is far from happy with his current situation and could therefore be on his way out of Hamburg in the January transfer window.

The report suggests that the former Ajax youngster has already agreed personal terms with Liverpool and the Reds are supposedly ready to pay €15 million for Elia.

{editor: 1. Hard to say, maybe, but it does look like it will be done soon. 2. Gervihno has been linked and apparently we have tabled a bid for him. 3. I really doubt that we have spoken to Honda, but I hope we do go in for him. 4. I don't know about Young mate. 5. They are all just rumours, we will have to see what happens. 6. again just rumours and I am not sure

Merveaux will sign in the next few days, We haven't put a bid for Gervinho but we have asked to speak to the player. It's up in the air about Honda. He wants to join us but I don't think we'll buy him. We're looking at other options (I think we're also looking at cheaper options). I believe we're looking at stop gab players (young and cheap players) then in the summer we will sell the older players and buy top quality players and use those players we brought in Jan as squad players.

I do think it would be stupid not to go after Honda. His shirt sales alone would pay for itself.

I have been informed that we will add around three players to our current roster in this transfer window if possible. Our new addition Mr Comolli will have the final say on all signings as Roy Hodgson tries to change his fortunes on the field. At the moment Mr. Henry wants to consolidate the managers position before pursuing his first major marquee signing.
As promised Only players of the right age or Quality will be pursued by the owners. The club will not be held to ransom and will ONLY take/ keep players that want to be a part of our future. In the long term restructuring the club will take priority over everything. We need a solid base on which to rebuild.

Caughtoffside reporting that 27m will be made available for trio, young, sturridge and shawcross.
i like ashley young, think he would be a great player for us, he doesn't want to be at villa so that will obviously having an impact on his current form.
danny sturridge would be a cracking signing, as he will have a big future, very talented, imo of course, not gonna be shared by everyone.
shawcross for me is a good player, but not really needed. unless agger is leaving, which would be a shame as i think agger is the better player. think the money should be spent on elia instead.
marveux would be able to compete with auralio at left back, marveux offering what johnson does on the right, an extra attacking outlet.
i think then with sturridge, kuyt, babel even cole available to play as the second forward with torres would see us through to the summer.

I have heard from a very reliable source that Liverpool are looking at a number of different players to bring in in January or to try and strike a deal January for their arrival in the summer. But not every one of these players will arive, and are just a fiew players they are looking at in each area. These players are:

Fábio Coentrão
Per Mertesacker
Sean St Ledger

Stephen Ireland
Sulley Muntari
Kaká
Lee Chung-Yong
Royston Drenthe

Daniel Ginczek
Gianpaolo Pazzini
Damien Le Tallec
Fabio Quagliarella
Alexander Kerzhakov

I also got told that Wolfsberg are interested in Agger and Babel. .ed do u think we could try and strike a part exchange + cash for Dzeko? i would hate to see Agger go tho.

{editor: Dzeko would be an amazing signing, can't see him coming though, especially with his wage demands and City being interested. Agger should be first choice all the time for me}

What about carlos vela from arsenal, i know people are gonna say "we don't want an arsenal reject" but the boy is very technically gifted and would be a usefull squad addition. think his main problem is he has never had a good run of games, its difficult to reach ur potential when playing a bit part. i also think the same of babel, he was great in his first season because he was playing regular, the bad first touch etc tends to improve when ur game fitness and i stress game fitness is reached.
what are your thoughts on vela ed?

{editor: I have heard that the Dzeko move to City has all but fallen through, this is due to his massive wage demands. As for Sturridge I am not so sure, I suppose if we did loan him they would sort all that out}

ESPN Manchester City have reportedly agreed a deal to land towering forward Edin Dzeko , and all that remains to finalise the deal is for the player to accept personal terms, according to a report on ESPN Soccernet. Manchester City have been chasing the highly-rated Bosnian hitman for a while now and will likely reach a deal with the player despite his hefty wage demands reportedly in the region of £175,000.

Ed's didn't Llorente have a huge buy out fee in the 30 million area plus VAT and im sure he said he was happy where he is "for now". I can't see any "big name" players signing / wanting to sign in the near future until there is a new manager of some repute installed, hence the reason we are continually linked with "smaller fee" playets who would be squad players as we still cannot move on several players on lucrative contracts. Personnaly think until the manager conundrum is sorted we won't even know if Nando is staying. While it ws good PR for Pepe to publicaly state his place at the club , would have liked nando to do something similar to encourage the fans. Any comments appreciated. Jim 22

{editor: about Llorente, I heard many things about him having a huge buy out fee, then I heard something in the region of £16m which would be a steel! I can't see Llorente joining but hopefully we can sign some good players!}

Roy has said in the past that there are a few positions hed like to strengthten and would like to sign 5 or 6 players however with it being January i wouldn't expect any more than 3 if even that!

The psotions i think hed like to stregthen are CB, LB, RM, LM, CM, ST

{editor: Agreed, however I don't believe we need a CB, with Ayala, Wilson, Kelly and Soto as cover. I think we should be targetting a striker and two class wingers}
I agree with you ed.
I reckon the reason our defence has been dodgy is because we have missed carraghers organisation because with Skrtel and Kyrgiakos we have 2 meat heads almost!
Liverpool need to inject some pace into the team hopefully with 2 wingers and a striker, if we can getr Marveaux now hes fast(ish) then id like Elia (ideally AJ) for the wing, then i think Wolfswinkel would work well with FT as he is originally a CAM so can provide for FT while still being a striker also i think he wouldn't cost too much.

team id be happy with after jan is :
GJ JC DA FA
Elia SG RM Marveaux
Wolfswinkel FT

In reply to:

"Because Liverpool are a massive club, and Aguero is a professed Liverpool fan. Not to mention the possibility of playing up top with Fernando Torres. Liverpool have plenty to offer.

It is debatable whether we could afford his transfer fee and wages, but the size of the contracts NESV have been giving baseball players (in excess of £100m) we could certainly pull off one or two big deals if the players wanted to join. I'm not expecting anything personally but I wouldn't rule it out."

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Yes I know that Aguero is a Pool fan and all but he won't join Liverpool at a time like this. He is a player who needs Champions League football and ATM Liverpool cannot guarantee that and they cannot guarantee that Torres will be staying for much long as he is one who also needs Champions League football. These are two quality strikers who deserve to be at the top levels of football, and at this stage of LFC they are not at the top no more.

Just because you are a fan of a club does not mean you join them. You play football for a reason. To make money and because they are obviously good at the sport. And if they are so good they should be at a higher level than Liverpool.

+If NESV are so rich and can afford this then how come they are only giving Hodgson £27m if that at all.

Any thoughts from you Ed? Always good to have your input from my view :D.

{Editor's Note: I know nothing of any £27M. You also cannot equate spending on the Red Sox with spendiong on Liverpool. I doubt you will see Aguero in January.}

Sorry to spoil it but why would Aguero join Liverpool (No Offence Meant) when he turned down Chelsea to stay with Athletico. Also Aguero would cost in excess of 30m, maybe even 40m+ with his form or late, and Liverpool cannot by any means afford that price. If he did move I would expect it to be to one of Chelsea, Man City, Man Utd, Real Madrid or Barca.

In reply to:

"Aguero marquee signing!

Sorry to spoil it but why would Aguero join Liverpool (No Offence Meant) when he turned down Chelsea to stay with Athletico. Marveaux (correct spelling) is basically a done deal from what I have heard at around the 3m mark.
Area Turan is no longer a target of LFC (IMO) as he has not played well at all this season, and most of last, but only had a good short spell which got him noticed.
Honda is a very strong possible transfer in this transfer market. Expect him to sign either this Jan or Next, not the summer as it is half-way through the Russian Season.
Liverpool do not want Taiwo! He like Turan had a good short spell but is by no means consistent and has been overtaken in the squad by the ageing Gabriel Heinze.
Daglish I do expect to happen, BUT only if Hodgson loses either of his next Two games.

Anyone think we should go in for Parker? Worth around £12 Million but worth every penny for us if we got him! Could play him in a standard 4 man midfield and let Gerrard roam. Another point why do we have a tradition of wanting unknown players Ed? Big named players have big reputations because of their quality so NESV should provide ample amounts of cash for the likes of Aguero to come. {ed's note - sometimes they don't work out though. I seem to remember Chelsea signing a huge name in Shevchenko and Real Madrid signing a whole host of them. How many of those have worked out? Real Madrid get stuffed by Barca and Sheva was a disaster.}

Was weird why Sheva was a disaster. Berba is a disaster for united too, cost 30 million and done very little imo. Just to reply to the person who said we should go after Parker, why? Ed am I the only person who thinks we don't need a center midfielder. We're strong in that position. We need wingers, and good ones. I think that's why united do so well. They have to goal scoring world class wingers who are given a free role to go where they like and have scholes and flether (sp) to cover the back 4. ed's note - I think we need width as well and a striker and left back. Central midfield is not a priority for me.}

just to further your point ed, also we won it once during WWII but it is not counted for some odd reason, twice in the noughties of the 20th and 63 to 90 last time i checked was 27 years.

Nice Bullcrap, why would he say only speak to his daughter in spanish or english when hes from denmark?

Liverpool are not going in for Ashley Young, but Tottenham are.
How does this effect us? If they sign Young then Aaron Lennon becomes availible, who i personally believe is a much better player and somewone i would love to see down our right wing. Would only cost about 10-12 million too compared to Young's 16-18. Thoughts?

ha ha get a life fella, with beckham coming AND lennon staying why do we need young and why would lenny want to go to you? lenny is worth a lot more than young and besides didn't lennon slag of your club and city? ?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I have a life thanks, and to your points:

1) i don't know why you need Young, im not a Spurs fan, i just know Redknapp is an admirer of him, you have shown an intrest and that if you sign him Lennon would become availible.

2) IF beckham signs then it will be on a 2 month loan, so its hardly beckham AND lennon

3) Lennon might want to come to us because
- We are one of the best supported, most well-known and successful clubs in the world (unlike Spurs)
- We have an increadible history and are the most successful team in english history (unlike Spurs)
- We are a team back on the up
- He would be guaranteed regular first-team football and so on

4) To Lennon is worth more than Young, i agree. As i said i think Lennon is much better, but i don't put a price on the players, the clubs do, and Villa value Young higher than Spurs value Lennon.

5) As far as i know Lennon never slagged us off, it was Bale.

No arguments please mate, it's simply what i've heard, true or not

sorry fella your history is not a patch on spurs you courted history for 15 years spurs have done it on and off since 1901(where were you the other day when your fans were battered by all when you questioned spurs and the goonheads history? ?) and as for lennon he will not become available! and i think even one of the eds knows it was app both players that slagged off your lot! and actually you did put a price on the players?? and even if he does sign for spurs for one month it will still be beckham and lennon, as for harry being an admirer this does not automatically mean he will get him as you posted , they want him, they are two different things being an admirer and wanting a player, think i was right when i said get a life and your knowledge of football is shocking! {ed's note - you do realise Liverpool won the league twice in the 1920s, hardly a 15 year period.}

Am i right in thinkin Harry likes to have a half decent back up in each position? This means lennon an young would be in compettion for staring line up, and i have just realised young is a LW and your saying Lennon is a RW soo spurs could have both in the team therefore lennon would not be on the market
(0) (0)

er no not really as bale is on the left, modric also covers on the left and with beckham due to come in ashley young will not be coming to spurs

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
To cover these two posts:

1) Young can play on either side and plays on the right for Villa (Downing plays on the left)

2) Beckham will only be going their for 2/ 3 months

3) For the cover thing your forgetting about people like Bentley, Dos Santos, Kranjcar e.t.c providing they all stay meaning Spurs have plenty of options

i know its unlikely, but all im saying is that its possible

Sooty {ed's note - I don't know anything about him, I have never seen him play. I have been told he can play anywhere on the left side or as an attacking mid, but I can't verify it. He is up for grabs for about 2m if we take him now.}

At this stage I couldn't care less who we sign because the rumours of Agger being sold are worrying me too much. Would LFC really be that silly to let him go? He's the best we have at the back. Partner him with Kelly and we have our defensive partnership for the next 5 years.

Ireland is a city reject and we have enough midfielders.
sturridge is a chelsea reject and already proven he is not good enough for the premier league
mertezacker is ok but we have kelly and wilson coming up and carra and agger right now with skertel and soto that can cover good enough for now why do we need him.
gervinhio- like him he can dribble would love to see him
honda- i think he would work well and hope he signs
n`zogbia- not good enough when their is hazard, and turan, with honda and gervinho being able to play on the wing
i would take hondo and gervinho from your list the rest i hope do not come ever.

"John Henry is also insistant on appointing former Liverpool legends in Coaching roles to give the "Liverpool Spirit" to the players who are low."

Quite honestly, I'd prefer to appoint only coaches who are seriously good at what they are doing, irrespective of where they come from. Players will not get a warm and fuzzy because a coach is a Liverpool legend, they will definitely be motivated by someone who picks the right players in the correct positions and shows a proper appreciation of tactics.

Ed do you think we'll be able to attract big name players in the winter/ summer transfer windows. I have serious doubts we can. If we want to be in the top 4, how can we if we can't attract top 4 players. I'll give the owners till the end of summer, which is 2 transfer windows. {ed's note - of course we can, it is the chance to be part of one of the biggest clubs in the world that attracts players to us.}

I mean proper world class players. Not decent players like Honda. I am doubtful, if every world class player we go after, theres always going to be a team who can offer champions league football, which seems to be the biggest thing for players. Only way city could get talent is by offering them stupid wages. {ed's note - we can still attract them, we have Reina, Gerrard and Torres for them to play alongside, that is a huge draw. Most players are arrogant, they believe they can make a difference, so they won't look at the current league position as a minus. They will see it as a challenge to be the difference between mid-table mediocrity and European challengers. If they aren't looking to do that at a club the size of Liverpool then we shouldn't be signing them anyway.}

Hodgson has given up on honda because of asian cup which means he won't be avalible to end of Feb and now has turned his attention to ashley young and dan sturridge

=======================================

If Roy makes a decision like that he does not have the long term view for the club. You don't buy a player and expect them to immediately perform at the highest level. Even if he came in today, it will be March or April before he starts to contribute. It would be a shame to lose a quality player because of one month. Secondly, they have known all along that he would not be available.

If it was only when they started to perform in march or april their isn't much point in them being signed in january is there?

What about baines for left back

Kyle Walker is an up and coming left back currently on loan at QPR from Spurs, before he joined Spurs he was at Sheff Utd, this lad has the potential to be world class serious.

He is as fast as Bale and has all the tricks in his locker, very good at going forward and he can defend all day long. If NESV are true to there word then this lad should not be over looked.

RedAk

Completely agree, Walker will be a very good left back, we should buy him

thats the same reason spurs will not let him go and he mainly plays right back for qpr and has done so for spurs on quite a few occasions, BUT his long term future is at spurs sorry to say

Liverpool January Transfer Activity
IN
Sylvain Marveaux - Rennes - £2m
Gervinho - Lille - £10.7m
Ryan Shawcross - Stoke - £6m
Yann M'Vila - Rennes - £14.5m
Kiesuke Honda - CSKA Moscow - £15m

Marveaux will movie now for £2m to escape somebody signing him before. Gervinho talks are at the final stage after a £10.7m bid has been accepted. Honda transfer bid has also bee accepted and after Gervinho deal has been done, Comolli will focus on finalising that deal but Honda won't be able to play until after the Asia Cup. Comolli will then focus on signing Shawcross and M'Vila with these being the hardest deals to sign. Stoke want at least £6m for him and I believe he will be the last signing near to Deadline. Comolli will look to use the good relationship with Rennes to snap M'Vila from under Real Madrid's nose.

OUT
Milan Jovanovic - Standard - £3.5m
Christian Poulsen - Villarreal - £3m
Daniel Agger - Juventus - £8m
Ryan Babel - Birmingham - £8.5m
Paul Konchesky - West Ham - £3m

Jovanovic wants to leave and will be sold back to Standard for £3.5m and expect this to go real quick, a bid has already been lodged of £2.5m. Villarreal want Lucas as a replacement for injured Marcos Senna but Comolli wants to keep Lucas until summer at least so will offer Poulsen for cut price £3m. Juventus, Bayern, Wolfsburg are vying for him for a price around £8m. Babel will be finally sold for cut price £8.5m and expect Konchesky to return to West Ham because they will miss out on Wayne Bridge.

To the guy who posted this:
"My uncle works at real madrid as a groundman, mourinho was told he has to win the league or eles, mourinho didn't take kindly to this and has told his bosses he will be off to England in the summer, their are only 2 club he could go to, three if anglotti dose not get his game together, Man city/ Liverpool . Let's hope city win the league"

So your uncle is the famous Paul Burgess? And he has inside info from the bernabeu? Aren't we lucky to have you sharing your uncles findings with us. Keep us updated mate. I have some info of my own actually- my nan is the club seemstress at barcelona, and she told me that Pep Guardiola is on his way out of the Nou Camp heading towards blackpool as an assistant to Ian Holloway. Apparently its due to the club president Sandro Rosell getting a boner when peps wife shook his hand at their new years party.

even if Roy was the man making transfer decisions, which i am 99% sure he isn't, He himself came out and said transfer deals are most likely to be done around the end of the month. the Asian tournament ends on the 29th of Jan. Besides honda is an exceptional player who happens to be available. and our new policy has been repeatedly mentioned as being getting the right players whenever they are available for the right price, not prioritizing the quick fix with an a bunch of average players.

RE- MACCA
no offence to u mate but most people know about ole frank off pitch activities, so stating that as a point of defence doesn't mean any thing really, and then to say the next manager could be kenny but dnt shoot the messenger is like me saying i've heard that ronaldo has signed but dnt shoot the messenger, do u see what i mean m8? ive got 2 say a few things you have said have been close to the truth but then some would say that a broken watch is correct twice a day, i wouldn't think that 99% of the people on here have any contacts at the club what so ever, and of the 1% left over know the cleaner or something, if you have a source then that's great and i hope what you post does happen, but like i said a broken watch is correct twice a day. . .please don't take offence at the above as it isn't meant!
scouse brown {ed's note - you are forgetting that he didn't say Kenny was going to be manager, he said he didn't know but it could be Kenny.}
if you read my post again ed i said that he said it COULD be kenny, i never said that he said it WOULD be kenny!
scouse brown {ed's note - my point is that you were slagging him for giving an opinion about something, which is unfair when your post was about whether he knows something or not.}
sorry again for the miver ed, but i was not slagging him off for his opinion?, i'm unsure from what part of what ive wrote you take that from, i stated in my post that i do not mean to cause offence in any way, its just that back tracking which if you check your posts has happened from macca and in all fairness yourself with regards with you being certain that roy would be gone by a certain time, i'm not trying to slag people off at all, but when people who claim to be in the know and are certain of things going to happen because a senior player told them it would. . well when it doesn't happen then im sure you would agree that the posting person be it you macca me or any other person here posting rumours will lose cred, that's it m8 cheers.
scouse brown {ed's note - no worries, I thought you were including that as proof that Macca was wrong.}

I've spent a fair bit of time watching Italian football and Lavezzi is a decent player, he doesn't get that many goals but he's a great partner for a goalscorer like cavani. He's strong and creative and certainly better than N'gog, Babel or Jovanovic

Roy Hodgson has to win all 3 of his next matches to secure his management of Liverpool beyond 31 January 2011 and until the end of the season. As a consequence, Damien Comolli will be overseeing all transfers.

If he fails to do so, Kenny Dalglish has been lined up as Interim Manager until 1 June 2011 when his contract will expire and he will return to his current position. Phil Thompson will serve as his Assistant Manager.

If Tom Werner and John Henry feel that Hodgson really needs to go at some point between 1 February and until the end of the season, then he will go and Dalglish and Thompson will step in.

John Henry is also insistant on appointing former Liverpool legends in Coaching roles to give the "Liverpool Spirit" to the players who are low.
