Hi eds! just wondering if we have been back to talk to seville about moreno. Just asking as I really don't see bertrand as a player good enough for Liverpool. Also if we can't get Moreno why not just promote Brad Smith.

I totally agree he isn't good enough I would rather keep flanno pushing there with the bull or as you say a youth player

Klaas Jan Huntelaar is Rodgers choice to replace outgoing striker Luis Suarez. How true I don't know but he is a lethal finisher and could be very useful to our squad, is in the final year of his contract so wouldn't cost much.

Eds is this guy of real interest to us? He is 31 years old and scored 12goals last season, and he is perhaps past his best? I'm not trashing him but I just can't think we have great interest.

Yeah I have mate now thank you, I see that it was suggested by a scout from Spurs that e had interest. So unconfirmed really. I doubt he will be in our team next year.

Great. Huntlaar and Lambert. Setting the bar high. Don't get me wrong love what Richard Lambert is all about and his passion to join etc. but come on, we're meant to be title contenders and playing CL. These are not steps forward, this is not what Utd or Chelsea would sign. We're seedling arguably one of the top 5 players in the world and replacing with this?

The Southern Daily Echo are reporting that we have bid 20m for Lovren? Any truth or could it be old news on the verbal offer you mentioned a while back?

He is reported (by the local Southampton media) to have put in transfer request weeks ago after our first £15m approach
The same Southampton media now report we have matched the £20m quoted to LFC, which has also been rejected.
They also report that that may force Lovern to not report for pre season training

I think you will find there are a number of clubs after Lovren, so Saints will be in no rush to sell him and will wait for the best price, and probably also wait to get a replacement (or two) on board first.

How far off are we in terms of our formal offer compared to the fee Southampton want to get?

Reus wants to move to Barcelona and Barcelona want Reus - it is nothing to do with Suarez and Barcelona are looking to replace the likes of Pedro and Sanchez. Barcelona are rebuilding as they know it will likely be January 2016 before they can buy again. Dortmund do not want to sell Reus.}

Eds, are Liverpool still interested in Ricardo Rodriguez of Wolfsburg or does Rodgers see Bertrand as the solution to our left back problem, I'd rather Rodriguez as I feel he'd do a better job than Bertrand, who would you rather have at left back

Ap lfc I would love Liverpool to sign this lad as well got great turn of speed and imo a better defender than moreno r beltrand, and wouldn't cost the earth, had a really good season last year at wolfsburg, would like br to sign him and serge aurier for the right, not getting cb's to fill in at full back positions, which imo are a specialised position nowadays.

Hi Eds,

Two players I haven't heard much of are David Marshall and Stephen Caulker, both appeared to be pretty much out the door at the start of the summer.

I know there was "apparent" Liverpool interest in Caulker at one point, though I can't understand why, no improvement on Andre Wisdom imo.

But Marshall I think would be a cracking buy to push Mignolet for a starting spot, and his wages are likely to be minuscule compared to Pepe's?

Any word on either of these guys? And any opinions on them?
