Hey Ed's any updates on Mitrovic. I remember Ed002 saying that scouts went to see Anderlecht play but were more likely looking at Praet's progress instead.Can you confirm either way.

Thanks in advance

{Ed002's Note - There is interest in Aleksandar Mitrović from Swansea, Dortmund, Newcastle and Eintracht Frankfurt. The interest of Leicester and Bayern Munich seems to have gone.}

Manchester City, Sevilla, Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, Valencia and Tottenham have declared an interest in Anderlecht's Dennis Praet who has said in the past that he favours Arsenal, although they are seemingly less keen now. Interest remains from Ajax, Hoffenheim and Dynamo Moscow. Sevilla and Valencia have had bids rejected. Arsenal and Liverpool have looked at the player on a number of occasions but any move seems unlikely.

Hey Eds,
Its pretty clear we need full backs and striking options in the summer.
With Manquillo loan extension a TBD, Johnson definitely going, Enrique perpetually injured and Moreno lacking some defensive guile, who are out targets for LB and RB this summer?

Believable0 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - RB: Manquillo is on a two year loan. The system the manager has been playing has seen Can played there. Wisdom will return from loan and is another option. It would not be out of the question to see Ibe used as a wing back if Rodgers persists with this approach next season. McLaughlin is another option. Stewart is another option. If Liverpool were to pay for Manquillo to leave then they may look elsewhere. Danilo was looked at but certainly won't happen. The likes of Adriano and Alves have been mentioned by agents as possible options but such players will be expensive and are unlikely to end in anything but tears. Folks, I assume because of something in the press, have been asking about Janmaat moving to Liverpool. I don't know of interest but I am pretty sure Newcastle would not want to sell.

LB: Moreno only arrived last season. McLaughlin is an option. José Enrique is only 29 so don't be writing him off. Sam Byram has been watched.}

The sad thing is that bar Moreno none of them are good enough for cl level. Wisdom has been dropped completely by west brom, manquillo looks out of his depth, Enrique is crap, can is a cm and the others are just kids.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - Wisdom was dropped for not being tall enough, no other reason. He likes his full backs to be as much in excess of 6ft as possible. Andre was never going to suit Pulis.}

Moreno just needs to improve his right foot and get some time with a good defensive coach. Un fortunately I don´t think we have one.

The problem is we don't have anyone that's "natural in the position" that's a top performer. With Johnson gone, I can see Flanno and Moreno filling the flanks in the starting 11 when fit.
With that said, with any injuries/dips in form we are screwed. Wisdom is a CB in the making, Can a CM that needs time to cement himself into that position in the side. Raheem/Ibe as full backs limit us to the 3 at the back strategy meaning we're predictable and will play down the middle as we have most of this season.
Other than a striker (Depay please!) I honestly thing these are the 2 other priority positions in the squad we need to fill, with a box-to-box midfielder thrown in on top if we have the budget.

Hi Eds, thanks for great replies. Jon Obi Mikel of Chelsea seem to fallen out of favour with Mourinho . Does Liverpool or any clubs have interest in him?

Believable0 Unbelievable2

{Ed001's Note - why don't you try the Chelsea pages as there is no current Liverpool interest thankfully.}

There is interest from Real Madrid

Hi Eds, i've heard various rumours surrounding Roma's Nainggolan, do we have any intrest? I think he'd work great next to Hendo and offer us more options now that Gerrards gone. Another roma player we've been linked with is pjanic, could you shed some light on that?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Nainggolan still has some complex co-ownership issues which once fully resolved will see offers from at least Manchester United and Manchester City, whilst Roma look for a new deal. He has a stupid enough hairdo to fit in nicely at Liverpool, but there has been no interest.

PSG and Manchester City remain keen on the signing of Miralem Pjanic but both are constrained by UEFA sanctions and will need to sell before buying - and may well be put off by the price. PSG would be willing to include Verratti as part of the deal but Verratti is set on a move elsewhere. Liverpool and Spurs have enquired and are aware that he could be available at the right price - but that would be very high (€50M) and the player has said he has no interest in either club - whether or not that would change if the asking price and wages were matched I don't know. Manchester United also made an enquiry before appointing a new manager in the summer, but it went nowhere. Borussia Dortmund and Zenit St Petersburg seem to have dropped their interest. The player is looking for €250k per week in wages and would probably not be interested in moving to a non-Champions League club. Roma's owners have said they don't want to sell but the player is probably looking for a way out.}
