Hi Ed, Whats the story on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang? He's knocking in goals like there's no tomorrow in France but never got a sniff at AC Milan. Do you know are we intrested, and would he be interested in joining us in January. I believe the price flying around is £9m, sounds like a bargin, plus he is his pace is unreal! Thanks for your time

Dano
Y.N.W.A {Ed002's Note - After a year at St Etienne Aubameyang has attracted the attention of Spurs PSG, probably amongst others. He has said in the past the one day his dream would be to return to play with a great Milan side.}

I'd be happy with him and Dries Mertens for a combined 25m

Rodgers watched him when he was in charge of Swansea, don't know whether he is still interested in him though.

I rate the player and think we should tracking him to come and be part of the dynamic revolution which is taking place at Liverpool.

If it wasn't for the Carroll crisis in the last week of the window, we'd have taken much of the momentum through with us, but no one could understand why we shot ourselves in the foot and not many people could agree with letting our marksman go without getting a new one in.

I think Aubameyang would be brilliant for Liverpool in the Premier League.

Hello Ed002,
would you be so kind as to explain it to me what is going on with Sterling? Is he going to quit Liverpool after this season, when does his contract run out, and would you rather go for Walcott or Sturridge than play Sterling? thank you very much for your thoughts. {Ed002's Note - I would think that there is a very, very good chance that Sterling will sign a new contract in December. I don't think Walcott or Sturridge would be a replacement for Sterling - as both desire to play centrally but are rarely being afforded the opportunity to do so - and that is what they are both dysthymic about.}

Sterling must stay and will stay he is the future of our club.

Sterling will stay simple

Nice vocab, Ed002.

If you was sterling playing for us at is age would you leave errr no

Dysthymic, I love it. What a word
You really are sagacious Ed!

(By the way my favourite word is salubrious)

Gooner lost, good. Now for the Cottagers to do the friggin diapers and Wigan hopefully hold Spuds and us to put the barcoded clowns to the sword tomorrow.
May be a good weekend.

WILLIE
PS: Ed002, I've heard that Lewis Holtby would be 'very keen' on a move to Anfield. Any interest/potential interest you see from us in the lad?
Thanks, bud. {Ed002's Note - Schalke have confirmed that they are to offer Lewis Holtby a new contract but are aware that there will be interest from clubs wishing to speak to the player in January. Aston Villa has added to the previously known interest from Valencia, Everton and Arsenal and unconfirmed rumours suggest that both Manchester United and Liverpool may also look to Holtby. Perhaps the most interesting option that he may have is Inter Milan who most definately has an interest after stepping back from any deal for Paulinho. However, Inter are being advised by Di Frisco that Holtby is perhaps two years from being ready for such a move but in my view it remains his most likely destination.}

Why is that good for liverpool, everton, spurs and arsenal are battling for champions league places, liverpool are fighting the likes of newcastle, stoke, fulham and west brom fot top 10 places

I wish everyone would stop going in about holtby he is sh!ep and nobody knows who he is

No Liverpool aren't competing with the likes of fulham, stoke etc. we are fighting with spurs, arsenal and everton for the top four. Typical. Untied. Fan

In your dreams mate, them days are well gone lol

Well done mate you got the most part of your wishes with today's results... Hopefully Liverpool can end it off.... Holty is similar to Henderson unfortunately neither are good enough... Go for higiuan pay the money and get the goals.

Why would Higuain leave champions league football with real Madrid

Was just wondering if in January Llorente, Huntelaar and Walcott have not signed contracts would their respective clubs be looking to sell or willing to take the loss at the end of the season? {Ed001's Note - Llorente is already up for sale, not sure on Huntelaar, but Wenger has made it clear Walcott needs to agree his new contract ahead of the window or be sold.}

Walcott yes. But we could only realistically buy one of Llorente or Huntellar. I'd go for Llorente

What price is being quoted for Llorente ed?

Nevada {Ed002's Note - Fernando Llorente is interesting Juventus, Spurs, Manchester City and Arsenal. Chelsea dropped there interest and I suspect that other clubs would be scared of by a transfer fee of more than £25M still being asked by Athletic Bilbao. There is a very good chance that he will move next year although there are talks continuing with Juventus over a January move, with the interest from Arsenal and Atletico Madrid ramping up. I would suspect that he will end up at one of these clubs but at a lesser fee. Arsenal still maintain a very strong interest in Adrian Lopez as well. His alternative will be to sign a pre-contract in January for a summer move.}

ed is it true ajax have repotedly said liverpool to pump 20 mill for erriksson?
i would personally jump and pump the money..
4 mill more than henderson and 4000 times better player than him..
sell hendo and downing and buy him..
he is absolute quality {Ed001's Note - it is not that simple, he has shown no sign of any interest in a move to us. Plus I think you are over rating him, personally, he is not as good as all that, far too few good performances.}

More than Downing and Henderson can manage in a season though

I agree with ED001. This guy is well overrated. For that amount of money and wage he will demand we are better of going for a goalscorer like Damiao. Eriksson is not actually that good. He hides in too many big games.

Speedy

Erikson will become one of the greatest players in the world

He is an absolute quality player.

Seen him a few times and I agree with ED001 too (on me 'ed son) - he seems overrated and a bit lightweight. And for those of you who say 'Ah, but look at Allen, Sterling, Suso etc etc." I say: "Exactly" - we have enough of those sort of players already.

For the same amount of money, go for someone who's going to make the difference, up front - someone who'll stick it in the onion bag.

Huntelaar? ...Walcott (through the middle)? ...maybe even Hooper?!

Raised Eyebrow

No chance of eriksen will be moving to anfield, sometimes I think ed1 lives in his own little world?

I agree, from being one of the brightest sparks in Europe, Eriksen has gone off the boil for some time.

He is far from the player Barcelona showed interest in last season. But i think that is partly to do with Ajax not having their old 40 goal a season striker any more (Luis Suarez).

So it is a huge gamble. Personally i think we don't need Eriksen just yet. I think we need a striker who can score 20 goals.

It doesn't look like we'll see Carroll wearing the Liverpool shirt again, so maybe FSG will see that we are toothless unless Suarez gets his game on and that Sterling who is a winger and Borini still need a bit of time to come good.

Here we go again .......... can anyone explain why he was dreadful at Euro 2012 ?

Not worth it. We already have lots of midfielders

Borini is terrible and will never come good

Ed don't kid urself christian eriksen is that good.

Totaly agree what is the fuss? He aint as gd as everyone says yes hes good but he aint no worldbeater amd 20m would be expensive

In my opinion 20 mio is way to much for Christian right now!
He's a good player with plenty off potiential but needs to take "the next step" before he can be used as a regular on a bigger team.
But i have high hopes for this kid as he has a great personality and a good attitude.

Joe allen is twice the player of this guy

Hi eds what other positions do you see Liverpool buying in January other than a striker? Could it be two strikers? A creative midfielder? Or maybe a full back?

Thanks

Mighty reds {Ed001's Note - do you expect more than one signing then?}

Considering Rodgers said in a press conference he wanted two-three strikers in january i think we are all expecting more then one signing ed001 {Ed001's Note - you may be, but I am not.}

BR keeps saying the squad is to thin but HE wanted to go it alone (no director of football) so surely he has to take the blame? I hope he turns it round but I am starting to doubt his abilty...

What striker do you personally think we will sign ed {Ed001's Note - not a clue sorry.}

I would rather pay the money for a young quality striker that will be one of the first names on the team sheet! I know this is not easy in January, but I believe FSG will back Rodgers in this window! I would prefer this to buying two average strikers that will add next to nothing to the quality badly needs up front!

A striker, winger, and full back I'd say. Probably Demba Ba, Theo Walcott, and Leighton Baines

Baines? I think he will cost us 20 million to move across the city.

I agree we need a revamp of the team tho. Starting with full back.

We'll do well to get even one player of the required quality. Clubs don't sell players mid-season, at least not top quality ones. Unless there's a contract issue or a personality problem (clashes with the coach etc) no manager wants to try and replace a player of value to his team in a short window where everyone is looking to keep their squad together.

Ask yourself why we got Andy Carroll in January. Then ask yourself if January is a time to be trying to bring in multiple signings, especially with a limited budget.
