Heh Eds.
quick question. I
know you have stated cavani is a non starter.
I honestly believe that Liverpool will move for him.
I also think that fsg will invest more heavily than the 20 mill advertised.
i have had visions of cavani in the red shirt alongside luis.
Any chance even remote? {Ed002's Note - It would mean selling Suarez and others to raise the money. It is not going to happen.}

Just embarrassing.

Zeus Katz

I don't understand why it is embarrassing.?
I was speaking strictly in terms of the owners willing to push the boat out.
Hopefully Eriksen then.

Cavani and eriksen are out of the question! Cavani is way too dear and eriksen wants to go to spurs! Please stop the personic posts mate!

People need to understand these 2 simple things
1. Liverpool has overspent for many years without real sucess and needs to be much better in the transfer market. we will propably spend 35-40 million this summer in total after selling the deadwood! 35-40m on 4-5 players!

No way jose we are going to spend 60 million on 1 player!

2. To all these spuds trolling talking amazing rubbish, I live in denmark and eriksen has never said ever he wants to join spuds! He always said he loves Madrid since he was a child and dreams of one day of being, like, zidane!
If you are confusing real madrid with spuds then you have some serious problems!
Eriksen is not out of our price range and the usual drivel about vertongen telling him to come to spuds that's just made up! Agger & suarez are his National team captain and his former club captain!

Iam actually not, saying eriksen will join us! But you spuds fans are deluded! Make up lies and believe them and above all try to use facts that don't exist!
Liverpool has intrest in eriksen, so does spuds and many other teams! Stop these lies about him wanting to join spurs because he never said that and it makes me sick reading the, same drivell over & over when I kno for a fact he never in his life said he wants to join spuds!

Malak

Eriksen wants to go to spurs? You good mates with him or something? I've never read that before on any websites. He may not sign with us but you really think he'll up there? clueless!

05 Apr 2013 13:11:17
I don't understand where all this Eriksen wants to go to Spurs stuff has come from either. I would imagine most players dream of playing for a great side like Real, Barca or Bayern at some point in their career, but why would be openly say he wants to go to Spurs when he is playing for Ajax? I'm not saying he wants to come to Liverpool (although, in my opinion every player should want to come to us!), but why would he come out and say he wants to play for them. It's got to be made up!

Super

05 Apr 2013 15:12:29
It is made up super, by some spurs fans!
What I read over & over again in danish media is him dreaming to play in spain! He even told a reporter that if barca / real didn't bid for him he would try to go to a weaker team in spain aka valencia / sevilla so he could attract the intrest of madrid or barca!

Cavani 25m+ Skrtel+Coates+Assaidi+Borini

05 Apr 2013 16:18:56
cavani 25 + skrtel+coates+assaidi+borini

lets see. skrtel will get in £ 12m max.
coates will bring in 4m max 5m.
assaidi was bought for 3 maybe worth 2m
borini, say we get what we paid as he is highly rated in italy and we will not sell on a loss on a player who has been unlucky. £ 10 mil.

that makes £ 28-29 million + 25 = £ 53 m. still a bit far off the  70 million asking price.

i rather keep borini and spend those 25 + 18 m on the areas we really need strenghtning in! Goalkeeper and defence. its embaressing, we don't even need a striker anymore. !

Liverpool can't afford Cavani not even in dreams his wages will be triple of Suarez, eriksen will have lots of options if he decides to leave and I doubt he will even think about Liverpool for a second considering the options available to him.

Liverpool transfers will be players who are cheap or pontential, I doubt FSG will give 30M or so to rodgers after failing to achieve top4.

We Liverpool fans need to face reality and keep check of our expectation, Rodgers has spent 60M, have 3 strikers at the moment Borini, sturridge, Suarez and carroll on loan, we have a lot of midfielders something like 6-7, the only problem I see in our squad at this moment is defence and right wing which I'm sure it won't coast anywhere near 30-35M to get them as ince is one of them who will be in the range of 5M and a defender who will be in the range of 10-12M that's what our bussiness will be, remember at the sametime we have got lots of younger players like sterling, suso, coady, Teixeira etc who need to play or be used as cover before its too late for them they are in a stage of their career where they need to get game time.

It seriously worries me that people are willing to accept owners who won't put the club back where it belongs. I date back to the old second division and enjoyed the many great years we had. Those years were great because we bought the best -simple business rule, speculate to accumulate. These Yonks are not short of money, just short sighted.

Any Chance of us making a move for Ganso?

REDAN {Ed002's Note - He only moved 6 months ago and Liverpool has shown no interest in him. No.}

More chance with Gonzo!

04 Apr 2013 14:56:52
Hey eds, are the Jay Rodriguez speculations just MotM fever among journalists? As Weimann, he does seem to fit our profile.

Drigan {Ed002's Note - I don't know.}

Rodriquez strikes me as a very similar player to Borini, who once fit should find his feet and become a strong player!

Hi Eds. I was wondering if Liverpool had looked at the centre back Davide Astori?
I've been watching him in the Italian league and everytime he has played he's put in great performances {Ed002's Note - Moves to both Spartak Moscow and Zenit St Pete have been rejected in the past but now a firm bid from Napoli as been made. The player is attracted to the wages at Southampton who will look to improve their defence in the summer.}

Italian league is rubbish

Ed002, As Ajax have came out and said that we have sent scouts to watch their games do you think that there's a possibility that it wasn't eriksen that we were watching (as many people think that's who we were looking at) but maybe Alderwield, Fisher or any others you can think of?

Ronan Red {Ed002's Note - Scouts go to games all of the time and keep an open view on players - there are often several they would be interested in. There is certainly interest in Eriksen as has been explained and Ajax has a replacement lined up.

Toby Alderweireld still looks a likely canditate to replace William Gallas at Spurs in the summer. A bid from Anzi was rejected in January but his performances have continued to attract the attention of a number of clubs including Manchester United, Arsenal, Lyon, Inter and Juventus. It would be no surprise if Liverpool were impressed with his performances.

Viktor Fischer is subject to interest from Milan, Manchester United, Manchester City, Hamburg and Werder Bremen. Ajax is negotiating a new contract with him and I would not expect a move in the summer.}

04 Apr 2013 10:41:06
There has been a lot of rumours linking Eriksen to Liverpool. Is this likely? {Ed002's Note - Give the search function a try please.}

I was told a deal was done with spurs for alderweireld and eriksen! BUT I'm now lead to believe its alderweireld and fischer? I have a couple of spurs players as contacts and they are not saying anything as of the last two weeks? {Ed002's Note - There are no deals done with Spurs.}

I'll take your word ed! But it wouldn't surprise me!

04 Apr 2013 09:15:27
Hey eds,
Who do you think would come in to replace Reina, if he leaves in the summer,
Thanks. {Ed002's Note - There has been interest in Mingolet after it was decided that Begovic would be too expensive. No doubt the club will look at other options as well.}

04 Apr 2013 09:11:21
Ed002 Is there any truth of Liverpool approaching Hsv for Dennis Aogo?
Cheers

Malak {Ed002's Note - I don't know but I do know who would, so I willa sk.}

04 Apr 2013 09:45:21
Thanks! If you find out something please share:)

Malak {Ed002's Note - I will.}

04 Apr 2013 06:45:43
Hi eds,
Is it true what I'm reading about Carroll coming back and being a super sub? Also strong rumours bony is going to west ham, surely we should try and tempt him, and finally, I know you will say try the search function, but on a scale of 1-10 what are the chances of alsono coming back in the summer in your opinion, cheers eds keep up the great work

Matt {Ed002's Note - I have no idea, sorry. Obviously if Liverpool are unable to move Carroll on by selling him then they are stuck with him.}

04 Apr 2013 08:43:50
Haha! Never going to happen
Thank god for that! He will stay at westham or move to a hoofball team! He has "ambition" of England NT so that won't happen by being a sub!
He won't be super because he will never get used!
Brendan could have used him but gave chances to suso, sterling that alone tells me he will never have a future at LFC!
And ed I think westham are obliged to keep him if they stay up and big sam wants him so let's hope it all works out:)

Malak {Ed002's Note - West Ham have a very clear target as a main striker and are working toward a deal already. As I have said since the loan started, I have no idea of the provisions of teh contract and perhaps everyone should not believe what they read in the media so easily.}

Would Liverpool be willing to sell him for a really low fee e.g 7million {Ed002's Note - If Liverpool want to sell the player then they will take the best available offer that the player also agrees to. There is no point mentioning an arbitary amount of money.}

Hey ed002, what I meant was if the best offer we got for Carroll was really low and below our valuation would we move him on or just keep him {Ed002's Note - I cannot sensibly answer these sort of questions Zak.}

04 Apr 2013 09:24:33
Realisticly ed, could reina stay?
Thanks
Malak {Ed002's Note - Of course. Summer is still a long way off but the club has been looking elsewhere as we know.}

It's ok ed002 I figured I might have gone a bit far then! {Ed002's Note - No problem.}

04 Apr 2013 09:40:40
Alright ed! By the way I don't take the media seriously and it was ed001 I believe who said that! Thanks anyway:)

Malak

Ed2 I think it's the wrong saying stuck with him he's better than a kick in the l*nn**ds.

I think this rumour has started so that we can force west ham into making a firm offer by saying we wouldn't mind keeping him, instead of us giving off the impression we will do anything we can to get rid of him {Ed002's Note - West Ham will not be forced to do anything because of "rumours".}

Rodgers never gave Carroll a chance

The problem with Rodgers is that he puts so so much faith in this possession based, passing game that I get the feeling we might become predictable in future seasons ahead. Most teams will have already known this by then and will set about containing us. With Carroll we have another option of forcing the defenders onto him leaving space for other attackers to exploit. I just think Rodgers needs to revise his backup plan well.

04 Apr 2013 00:50:48
Any truth that Rodgers is prepared to give Carroll a second chance at the club next season?

Give the lad a chance,, We need his "size" against the cloggers in the league & when we are pushed around. Borini & Sturridge get bulleid out of a game,,,

Or maybe just a journo getting a bit carried away. BR has not made any comment on Andy Carroll returning that I am aware of?

These stories always appear before playing a team with anything at all that is related to any of our players for any reason whatsoever.

If he can finish off the season in the same fashion as the game the oter night, then he could be a useful second option. However, I doubt he would want to be a 'second option'.

Yes its true. He's going to be our new center back.

Totally agree with the last poster. Rodgers seems to have a problem with "full size" players. If he continues we can expect Bilbo Baggins as Carra's replacement. If we can't get at least 20 million back for him, keep and play the lad.

04 Apr 2013 08:00:18
No, he will be the first to leave!
And to the unamed poster saying he needs a chance needs to go support some other team, I would rather have sturridge & borini over carroll any day and stop talking nonsence about plan B or physical presence blabla, some people have no idea! We need to give borini a chance before carroll who already proved in over 50 games for us he has nothing to do here, specially with the new much better more entertaining football we play now!
Lets keep a 35 million flop who has 90 000 £ a week so he can play 10 minutes twice A season vs stoke!
No thankyou! Carroll will never be a Liverpool player again hopefully. Slow & can't dribble to save his life, almost 0 skill or teqnique! Only thing he can do is look ok in a hoof-ball team which by the way is their plan A, if it dosent work I don't see stoke or wedtham try to play tikitaka! Carroll out never to return and that's its going to be!
One of the most limited players I have seen in a Liverpool shirt and iam delighted I never will again!

Malak

I think the owners have told Rodgers to include Carroll in his plans for next season as they know they can't get £18M for him and will make a huge loss.

I will be happy if Carroll stays as all clubs need 4 strikers, an we would then have Suarez, Sturridge, Borini & Carroll, and to be fair to Carroll towards the end of last season him and Suarez worked well together and it would allow us to give Suarez a rest, play different formations and a plan B if needed.

{Ed002's Note - The owners do not make footballing decisions.}

Carroll should come back better back up than Borini

I think it's a ploy to get rid of him. Say you want him back, but in reality your looking at all offers.

I really can't see him staying. He only looked half decent towards the end of last season when he was being played every week. The odd 10 or 15 minutes here or there will do him no good.
Having said that, I can't see anyone paying more than £8-10 mill I am afraid. We'd be lucky to get a performance / appearances clause if we sold him, and maybe eek out an extra mill or two that way.
But we'd have to take a big big financial hit I reckon.
The Juicer

Give the lad a chance? Just how many appearances did he have for us? More than enough for everyone, not least Rodgers and Carroll, to know he's not what we're looking for.

I would imagine there is. Its not like we can sell him. that's the problem with tv and internet media, everyones seen him play!

Malak (a). Borini is a light weight who, when playing against the likes of Stoke will very quickly hide. Carrol will get in there at least. Borini is just a waste of money as was Carrol. but would prefer Carrol any time.

Hi Eds, do you know if there's any interest in Wayama from LFC?

We need cover/competition for Lucas, and some physical presence in the middle of the park would go down a treat.

Keep up the great work!
-Benito {Ed001's Note - not that I know of.}

Gustavo would be a better choice as he can cover various positions, I also hope to see Coady given a chance everytime I watch him play he is so dominant and calm on the ball he just needs a chance like Sterling & Suso were given to see what he can do.

Lucas had shocking season

04 Apr 2013 00:17:59
Hi eds. Haven't been on for a long time. But was wondering do you know if Liverpool or any other team have shown any interest in David Alaba of Bayern? Jayo {Ed002's Note - Liverpool has not shown interest and he won't be moving this summer.}

He will be 1 of the top Left Backs in the world next few years.
