Mystery Liverpool return will be a former youth player.

Gary Cahill being used to stretch Brums resolve- lays down a maker for what is realistic for Dann-still our preferred choice.

Hi Ed,
Do you think Aly Cissokho is still available for us? {Ed002's Note - Sure, but he does not appear to be a target.}

Rumour of an interest in Lavezzi.
Expect KK and DC to test the waters soon.

Hey Ed, quick question. Has Jovanovic passed or failed his medical to Anderlecht? If he has failed, why has he failed?

Thanks in advance.

Just want to know what the Ed's think the chance of Shane Long joining LFC?I personally think slim. But I think this could be a bad oversight.If anyone 12 months ago said we're signing Andy Carroll and Charlie Adam both of championship
clubs at the time, I'm sure I know what the reaction would have been But just if we had,
we'd of signed both for £10m maybe £15m at a stretch, instead of the £43m it ended up.

Now it seems two of our other top targets Jose Enrique of a championship club 12 months ago
and Scott Dann (Playing for Coventry, championship club at 22, same age as Long now)

Apx cost £20m for both nowWhy are LFC fans so dismissive of the Shane Long link??
Seems he's not an exotic enough name?? Fans also seem to prefer a striker who was
relegated with Monaco, 12 goals or so he scored last season and never played in English
football.
There wasn't as much disapproval when we were linked with Conor Wickham, an 18 year old
who scored apx 5 goals last season, and done practically nothing in football compared to Long and quoted at apx twice the price at £12m.

Long has scored 20+ goals the last 2 seasons in the championship.

Sorry to say I think the hype of English players by English media distorts the views
of a lot of fans. And if it's not a hyped English player wanted it's an exotic name instead.
I'm an Irish pool fan, so maybe I'm slightly bias, (I'll let you decide)

But I think I'm one of the few who can see a bit of sense in it.
Might save us spending £20m on him in 12 months {Ed002's Note - I agree chances are slim.}

Hi Eds

Any chance that non-LFC fans comments could be banned? There are plenty of sites where there is lots of inter-team banter / baiting, but what I like about yours is it tends to be real fans, and most are pretty sussed. There's a time and a place for baiting Mancs and visa versa, but how about keeping your site clean?

JimK {Ed002's Note - I am afraid to say Jim that the Liverpool fans are by a mile the worst offenders and unless you can stop them baiting elsewhere it will continue. It has gone way beyond banter of course and it is making a bit of a mess of some of the pages./ But a self-inflicted wound.}

04 Aug 2011 17:56:54
LIVERPOOL HAVE JUST MADE A BID FOR SALOMON KALOU FOR 8 MILLION POUNDS.KK SEES KALOU AS THE PERFECT SOLUTION AS A THIRD STRIKER.I PERSONALLY THINK IT WOULD BE A GREAT SIGNING VERY UNDER RATED PLAYER.

04 Aug 2011 17:49:46
Hi Ed

Does the fact that Mears of Bolton has broken his leg put an end to us getting Cahill or is it an opportunity to use someone like the Greek as a makeweight in bringing Cahill L4?

Kopkat {Ed002's Note - I don't see it would change anything immediately. Perhaps is Wheater were injured it would.}

04 Aug 2011 17:14:27
I have said for many weeks now that liverpool will only sign a left back enrique now that some players have left a CB will follow if a few more players are sold or gone. There will be no back up striker as kuyt will be used up front. DANN is preffered CB as cheaper and younger than cahill. Now That Aqua is not leaving or does not loo like it meriless will make way tp provide some funds and lighten the wage bill

hi ed is there any truth to the gary cahill rumours and what do you rate his chances of signing for us {Ed002's Note - I am sceptical about them, but there is a chance.}

04 Aug 2011 16:41:33
Jeffren to sporting lisbon for as little as 3.75 million euros... Surely would have been worth a bid for our wing shortage

04 Aug 2011 16:39:30
Hi Ed, what are the chances of us singing these centre backs, Cahill, Dann, Shawcross, Hummels, Sakho? Cheers {Ed002's Note - 4, 7, 2, 1, 1}

04 Aug 2011 15:25:21
Ed is there a chance that Liverpool could sign Barcelona's winger Ibrahim Affellay?

Also, rumours flying around out here in Valencia that Liverpool may be in for Pablo Hernandez. Unfortunately I doubt it but do you think there is any substance to either of these rumours?

Thanks mate, take care.

maka {Ed002's Note - None that I am aware of.}

Jovanovic - Gone (Anderlecht)
Insua - Cesena
Degen - Stuttgart
El Zhar - QPR
Poulsen - Copenhagen
Pacheco - Athletico Madrid
Maxi - Racing Club
Cole - QPR

04 Aug 2011 16:05:56
Whats the situation with cole?

I've read he's playing the Poulsen card:-

'I want to stay at Liverpool and fight for my place', roughly interpreted as 'No other mug will pay me silly wages'.

Owen Coyle rejects talk of Anfield move for Gary Cahill
‎ V Coyle given green light to spend

Did the board mean something like, coyle you can go buy defender we have a feeling you'll need one. {Ed002's Note - Cahill's replacement was bought in January.}

04 Aug 2011 14:05:46
Hi Ed, do you know if Jovanovic was actually having a medical and if so did he fail? Thanks Ed.
Callum {Ed002's Note - It is suggested at was a problem with his knee.}

Regarding Cahill:

Owen Coyle has said in a press conference that there is no truth in the rumours that we are in for Cahill.

He said that himself, KK and David Moyes were all at the premier league meeting (last week I think?) and Kenny did not mention the player.

Now, I don't know if they are good friends or what, maybe as they are all Scottish they get on well.

But even so, would you discuss transfers of players at that kind of meeting anyway?

Perhaps Coyle is trying to cover up an offer.

Or perhaps we just aren't interested

Just saw the following post on the Everton Banter page.

04 Aug 2011 10:48:37
Liverpool FC to make an audacious bid for 40,000 Evertonians. B.K. will immediately rebuff te bid as everyone knows 1 Evertonian is worth 1,000,000 REDSH*TE

Hmm who they trying to kid? Although we probably do have 1,000,000 for every everton fan(i know thats not what he ment), I was wondering were he thought Everton would get 40,000 fans from?

04 Aug 2011 13:06:55
Owen coyle just said on sky sports he was with kenny last week and he never mentioned gary cahill once and that the rumour were interested in him is nonsenese just thought id let u no wat he said

A week ago people were posting rants about Mata joining Arsenal for only £13 mill.I never believed he was available for such a small fee.When I posted that the deal with Arsenal was stalled because they wouldn't offer enough other posters told me it was "already a done deal" for him to go to the Emirates.Now Mata's manager is saying he isn't moving at all.Yeah okay you say he's trying to push up the transfer fee and I realise this is a "rumour" site but some posters scream blue murder for nothing.We won't be signing him but maybe no other EPL club will either.If they do it will be for way more than £13 mill for sure.

04 Aug 2011 12:07:12
Ed002 not sure if i signed off on the post about why would the f*** would you have a hidden agenda re Aqualani . Anyway i'm with you its not gone up yet but i hope you stick it up because people need to realise that K.K has to say all the right things because like i said i dont see a massive que wanting Alberts signiture even at a knockdown price . Thanks. Jonson6

04 Aug 2011 11:58:15
SSN saying "The People's Club" are interested in Barton.Good luck to them but I doubt that even if he was willing to join them Everton could afford his wage demands.Remember this is the guy who told the world he's the best English midfielder
Anfielder1.

04 Aug 2011 11:54:06
Why the f*** would Ed002 have a hidden agenda over Albert. Ed002 is a Chelsea fan and is just tellin it like it is. But K.k said this and said that i hear you cry. He also signed Big Andy and Henderson who got ripped to shreds on this site. Make your f***in minds up, its seems people are judgein K.K's statements and signing as they see fit. Sooner Albert f***s off the better, dont see a massive que of clubs lining up to sign him at the price Liverpool would accept. We should be hoping that Raul M stays, someone who wants to play for us but wants the wage rise promised to him. Jonson6

Heard from a very good source we are not in for mata he will NOT be signed by LFC. Also dann is a priority and will be the next 1 to sign. Ed002 just a quick thought but did we not buy players who were injured before? Aqua, carrol. and i'm sure lfc are willing to take financial risks on young promising players so we can make max profit? Love the site
GingerDevil {Ed002's Note - Sure Liverpool have bought players who are injured before. For me I think it unlikely. But what do I know?}

04 Aug 2011 11:09:48
My ex-colleague now works at St. Andrews and has heard from a very good source within the club that LFC are pushing toward a move for Scot Dann, NOT Gary Cahill.

DC appears to have used the press to bring down Dann's prices, and although the BCFC owners are aware of this they feel that the 7m have now offered should be accepted asap so they are able to move on with their own plans.

04 Aug 2011 11:03:21
Radio City Sport reporting that Liverpool are in for Cahill now. Normally they only say anything if the course is credible, but they may have got this information reproduced from the press.

Just thought id let everyone know

04 Aug 2011 10:50:45
Liverpool are to renew their interest in Barcelona winger Ibrahim Afellay as they look to add more width to the right flank. {Ed002's Note - Afellay is injured and will not be able to pass a medical before the transfer window shuts. It seems unlikely.}

04 Aug 2011 10:16:24
Liverpool will make two more signings before the window closes.

Enrique- Deal close to 10 million including add-ons. Could be concluded as early as Tuesday.

Dann or Cahill. Looking more like Cahill as Birmingham being stubborn on price for Dann

This will finish our spending. A good summer in my view.

04 Aug 2011 10:14:14
Greetings pop pickers, Eds
Having just returned from my 3 week sojourn, brass rubbing around the cathedrals of England, it seems that we're on the verge of bringing Enrique in.
Add a CB to that and, all in all, a very pleasing Summer Transfer Window for me.
I'm surprised at the lack of activity so far from the likes of Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal - unless they're gearing up for a mad 3 / 4 weeks.

I wouldn't post on this site without concrete information and this is what this post is. An insider from BWFC has confirmed Ngogg will be part of a deal that see's Gary Cahill coming to Liverpool, the fee in excess of £13million. This deal will come to light on Monday of next week

Hi all,

Got some news for you all on ins and outs.

Right well I have been told that Aquilani, Meireles, Cole, Poulsen, Jovanovic, Ngog, Insua, Degen and El Zhar are all wanted off the wage bill. If we succeed in selling most of them, we will move for:

Yossi Benayoun (never wanted to leave, hated Rafa)
Scott Dann (in negotiations with BCFC)
Jose Enrique (fee has been agreed)
Shane Long (big interest in the lad)

04 Aug 2011 09:33:59
Can the Eds or Macca confirm whether or not we're still trying to sell Aquilani? The BBC has just reported that we have 'given him a lifeline' and he will be part of our squad. They've quoted the article from Dalglish, so can I get clarification whether or not we're still trying to offload him?

Thanks, RenegadeRed {Ed002's Note - It is no more than Dalglish saying he won't be upset if Aquilani stays. The player however wants to leave and Liverpool are happy to let him move on.}

04 Aug 2011 09:25:41
Morning Ed - Football talk have just reported that Enrique is due in Liverpool within the next 48 hours for a medical - do you know anything about this? {Ed002's Note - No but it seems plausible.}

04 Aug 2011 07:34:01
I live right by Joe Cole in Formby, Merseyside and I can confirm his house is NOT up for sale. I also know the agent who sold it to him and she says its not on the market either. FACTS. Make of this what you will.

Liverpool have offered Mathew Upson a premiership lifeline, £30,000pw wages plus apearance fee. Although there is interest from Arsenal and Aston Villa for the West Ham player. Liverpool also have ongoing negotiations with Scott Dann and Gary Cahill.

Expect one of these as well as Upson to be signed with Sotirios Kyrgiakos and Martin Skrtel to leave.

Does anyone know what the story is with Degen and El Zhar? Will they most likely be released as I can't see us finding buyers for them. Cesena are very interested in Insua and Liverpool willing to sell for as low as 2 million whilst Fulham, Udinese and Copenhagen have all registered an interest in Poulsen but the player appears rather intent on remaining at Anfield. Good to see us getting Cole and Jovanovic off the wage bill and Aquilani should leave permanently and not on loan, Milan looking the most likely now. As for Kyrgiakos, Galatasaray were interested but that has now cooled but a return to Greece may be on the cards and some German clubs have previously shown interest. N'Gog will leave if they are willing to accept the 3 million fee that other clubs appear to value him at and Meireles will if a fee in the region of 13 million is received. Daniel Ayala has been the subject of a bid from Hull of 500,000 pounds and we want more if any deal is to be struck. Also expect loans for Pacheco and Wilson.

This is Xabi Alonso's comments recently about LFC

"The club has clearly been working in the transfer market and they have brought in a few quality players, "

"I still keep in contact with Pepe and Steve Gerrard. They are looking forward to this season with the new additions".

"With those players - and, more importantly - the stability at the club, they will be in the top four at the end of the season.

"It's where the club belongs. People still talk about that Champions League victory and that's the sort of night Liverpool should be experiencing more regularly."
--------------------------------------------------
This is what Torres had to say about us in a recent interview

"Liverpool's future isn't looking bright, " he told Aftonbladet.

"I always gave them a 100%, but it was a difficult situation. Even though I felt like I was a big part of the club, you have to also look after your personal ambitions.

"For me, that is winning trophies and unfortunately that doesn't look like a possibility for them.

"It's no coincidence that Xabi Alonso, Javier Mascherano and myself all left Liverpool. It was always about ambitions. I played for Liverpool for a few years and had some great moments.

"But when a club like Chelsea, with bigger potential, come calling, it's hard to say no especially when it looked impossible to win the league for Liverpool."

I just wanted to show you the difference between class (Xabi Alonso) and classless (Torres). He's also implying that Xabi wanted to leave because of "ambitions". Yet another lie from a guy who i once admired and now despise. As we all know Xabi would have stayed, only for Rafa.

Blair Mayne YNWA

Ps. Sorry for pasting but i read some posters hadn't seen what he said. {Ed007's Note - Cutting and pasting Blair? Tut Tut, I'm disappointed. That isn't upto your usual low standards.}

Sorry boys that Torres thing can be found on a facebook page called Liverpool transfer news. They translate what he said allegedly. Have a look see if ya can find it. Cheers

Seeing as Liverpool had failed bids for jones, clichy and Enrique early in this transfer window, I'd suggest it's not rocket science that we will still try and sign players for these 2 positions. Enrique is as good as done now and expect dann or Cahill then that's our lot. We'll have a seriously strong squad then.
