Royston Drenthe could be on his way to Liverpool

If only , we had a good chance to get him in the summer and as far as I know he wanted to come, but we didnt go for him and opted for Drowning instead.
He would've been cheaper.
Roy

Yep to the everton training ground

Yes, but with Everton. lolz

Not before he visits the John Lewis sale!

Menswear assistant.

Is this the same guy who can't make the Everton team?

Nope, I'm definitely on menswear

just a question, if we finished in the Champions League spots (Top 4) would you think there is a chance of us signing Hazard in the Summer, or will he simply not be a Liverpool player? Im sorry if this has been asked before or not.. {Ed002's Note - The summer is a long way off we should just wait. But I really would not hold your breath.}

Thats a very big IF in any case ;)

Gav

You really think we're gonna finish 4th? have you watched any games lately. 'tis a big IF

we are getting linked to jeavic from rangers and bent from villa what a joke .we want quality not more bad buys.we are becoming laughing stock.bet the fees will be above 10m and 20m as well . joke.frustrated red

Cool story bro.

Your fault for being gullible enough to believe it.

Martin

Totally agree wi you poster we need to be going for quality soldado and sissoko and tell downing to take on an opponent or hes out.

Any chance of Liverpool gettin Mario Gotze?

Sorry to bring bad news he signed a contract today to keep him there till 2013 :(

any truth at all to the Metro rumor about Eljero Alia? would be class and an immediate upgrade to our current wingers.

EDS is there any chance Suarez may leave? i saw a post where ed02 say's he will not discuss it at this point,i really hope we do not sell him. {Ed001's Note - there is a chance.}

Does he want to leave or will the club let him go as he this situation has put the clubs reputation in doubt? {Ed001's Note - I really don't know how much I can say here, there has been a lot of interest from Madrid, Suarez is unhappy and feels victimised and FSG are extremely unhappy with the position they have been put in and the potential effect it will have on the sponsorship.}

Im gonna get shot down but here goes,the suarez situation has been handled very badly by kenny and liverpool in general.It should have been damage limitation from the start,who ever advised on this situation got it badly wrong.Rightly or wrongly suarez was found guilty of racial abuse and so liverpools name and suarez have been extremely damaged and in the context of todays politically aware climate that is a no go area for many potential "brand partnerships" of which fsg need for the financial future of this great club.You hear it said many times that no player is bigger than the club and so i believe rightly or wrongly in this situation liverpool will prove this by moving suarez on.

Wat a load of crap!! suarez aint goin nowhere. END OF!

Aside from how much we all love luis, and how much he loves us, from a business perspective, it may be in FSGs best interestss to let Suarez go.

if you look on Eurosport website, they have printed what the papers have said on the subject - and they all slate LFC for how the situation was handled.

in the nusiness world, it will be so easy for the rivals of our owners to use Suarez to propagate that they support racits. Even though Luis is not racist, and neither are LFC or FSG, it's amazing what PR personell can do in the business world. I know, I am one.

If keeping a player, however beloved, means FSG are seen to be supporting racism, it could (for example) become the difference between a 9-figure stadium naming right deal and an 8-figure one, and if there is a club willing to pay an acceptable amount for the player, FSG will do what is best for business. Devastating as it would be to lose king luis, that's business, and football is a business like any other.

I would find it hard to believe that all the measures were done without keeping the owners informed. Reports on the Guardian suggest that the owners were well informed about the all the developments. It will be inappropriate to make kenny/ suarez scapegoat. I wud really like to see both of them remain at anfield for long time.

Just to add my tuppence-worth, it was always my suspicion that certain Mancunian parties saw precisely this damaging potential in Evra's initial sh!t-stirring and, fully aware of the racially-hypersensitive American context of the affair to damage FSG's ambitions for the Liverpool brand in their home market, decided to propagate matters. And how they've been richly rewarded, sadly.

Funnily enough, having gone as far as they did, I feel the club made the wrong decision in failing to appeal the decision. They should have taken it to civil court and ground the politically correct b@stards into the dirt.

Anyhow.

Dr S. Atire.

Edoo1 just read your post its sounds like you no more on this then your letting on do you no more and just cant say at the mo? or am i being paranoid {Ed001's Note - there are a few things I can't say anymore about at the moment, sorry. I would love to share every little detail, but we have to respect what we are asked not to pass on.}

Edoo1 its me from above i respect that you cant tell us everything was hoping you would say he is defo staying but from the sounds of things he will be joining madrid then in exchange for ozil and cash or higuin got bad feeling bout this just as we get a player like louis the best in a long long time he is taken away from us think i might cry i no no one is bigger then the club but this boy is special gutted!! {Ed001's Note - it is not defo either way, nothing is set in stone.}

Such a cascading effect! ....If we let him go then trust the fans had in him and club which was displayed in those t-shirts they wore, will come out as a gimmick :( ....No player is bigger than the club ....but apparently, Owners are always bigger than the club ...I don't know should I f**kin laugh or cry

This is a difficult situation for all parties, and the best thing for everyone may be to go their separate ways. Sad, but life goes on.

I have faith the owners will do what is best for the club. They have done nothing to suggest otherwise in the 15 months they have been in charge.

If the manc are happilly posting here suarez will go. they must be worried as rooney is planned to be shipped to real in summer. its not a liverpool rumour but anti-liverpool. Suarez ban have been accepted to make sure liverpool play at full strength against Manu. liverpool want to reply back on the field.
Alvin.

Have been upset by situation with Suarez. I don't think he has much of a future in the English game. I think Evra will also be peddled in the summer as he is just as much bad news for the manc.

Thommo

I personally dont think suarez will be moved on , but if he is then the f.a. and that whiskey drinking low life people call SIR alex have achieved wot they set out 2 achieve haven't they. At the end of the day every 1 knows how corrupt the f.a. is

Great player and unfairly treated in my opinion. If you are in the public eye, one of the worst things you can do in this country is be associated with rascism.

I could see Madrid coming in with a very big offer at some point this month and Liverpool really considering it. I would hate to see him go, but as previous posters have said, it is a business and if Liverpool get a lot of money for him which was used to buy good players then it would be a good recovery.

Adam {Ed002's Note - Real Madrid do not have the money for a "really big" offer but would I am sure to be open to some sort of deal involving Granero and/or Khedira and cash.}

Well people its quite simple , if madrid come on for suarez than i'd be happy with only 1 name in exchange , Alonso !!

^^^^
If those two players are good enough for a Champions League first team then it wouldn't be a bad deal. Personally I think that unless a big money offer is received, Suarez should only be sold if he is so badly affected that it will hinder his performances on a long-term basis if he stays.

Ultimately, Liverpool need to be buying more players with his winning mentality, not selling them.

Adam

Alonso, Higuain + 15 Million please to buy LDJ...

If only.

heycEds,
Tiote of newcastle i think is a serious footballer, and just wondering does any link remain between him and liverpool?
J-L,K {Ed001's Note - not that I know of, his injury record, disappearance to the ACON and regular suspensions are very offputting for teams.}

You have too accept that a defensive midfielders will pick up the occasional booking, look at Lucas, Fellaini, phil Jones. Tiote would be a great buy

He was a liability against us, kept ridiculously trying to run the ball out of defence and got caught. In fairness though does seem a good player, good energy and strong, the type you don't want to play against.

Crap hair though!

Eds right, and he isn't a bell end. I love men.

04 Jan 2012 22:11:05
Ed is there any truth in Pool being in for Jelvic of Rangers ?

Sean bhoy {Ed001's Note - nope.}

Liverpool are to test Rangers resolve with a 7m bid for Jelavic. Given that Rangers have already knocked back a bid in the region of 7.5m in the summer its unlikely they will accept. {Ed001's Note - utter nonsense.}

04 Jan 2012 21:18:59
Ed do you think Liverpool will make a bid for Roberto soldado this month? {Ed002's Note - I really don't know. Sorry.}

You don't know, what sort of rumour mill is this!

04 Jan 2012 21:42:00
GivemeFootball: Liverpool monitor Valencia striker Roberto Soldado.

04 Jan 2012 21:25:56
Eds, maybe I'm losing my mind, but have we ever shown any interest in Bolton's Mark Davies? He's playing well at the moment and I think he's only going to get better.

Cheers,

Raoul {Ed001's Note - that the lad they got from Pompey? If so, we did have a look at him while there, I have not heard of any continued interest though.}

Lol i feel like a complete person cos i thought you said at first "Pompei"!!! {Ed001's Note - well they did blow up badly, a few times now!}

Im a good friend of Mark Davies used to play football together at school (Pool Hayes) apparently we looked at him while Hodgson was at the helm but nothing since. Great lad and player but im not 100% sure he would cut it at Liverpool although id love it if he did!

Redman

It was Wolves they got him from Ed.

Redman. {Ed001's Note - ah ok, not the one I was thinking of, then I don't know of any interest.}

He's the one from Wolves actually!

Papa G

The mighty wolves i think you will find ed !

04 Jan 2012 21:18:10
Luuk de Jong has been touted with a move to Liverpool following the player's claim that he would like to play in the English top flight. The FC Twente striker has netted an impressive 13 times in the Eredivisie so far this season and is said to have attracted interested from a host of major clubs

Well done!

04 Jan 2012 21:07:22
ed i recently heard we may be getting a certain player called Riccardo Montolivo from Florentina for free, any truth or could this happen? {Ed002's Note - No.}

04 Jan 2012 20:45:41
will pavulyachenko come to lfc on loan ed? {Ed002's Note - No.}

Seriously... Why?? On a day trip to warm our bench not good enuf for spurs or us!

04 Jan 2012 20:32:46
I was in Wolfsberg and I was sat next Kyrgiakos' dad in a bar and he told me that because his son still kept in touch with Liverpool FC and that Liverpool were going to sign Poulsen back on an emergancy loan deal to fill Lucas' boots until the end of the season but Liverpool will also be signing a League 2 prospect called Alessandra for pace and skill down the wing. This may seem unlikely but he sounded pretty serious.

I don't agree with them but this is what I was told.

Trust me and remember the name:
Goose2012

Not even funny !

No way would we ever sign Poulsen back.Someone is pulling your leg mate.

Why waste the eds and our time with this utter nonsense

Sorry mate but someones been pulling your leg Poulsen isn't fit to shine Lucas's boot let alone fill them, Connor Coady is the man for that job

Jim

Pretty funny to be honest, respect for this guy!

Liverpool would not make the same mistake of signing Poulsen twice.

That's The funniest thing I've ever read on here! Bless

Poulsen has been playing high class standard football of late, i heard the same rumour from Andriy Voronin's uncle and hope for Liverpool's sake that its true

No girlfriend, first time drinking cider...you really shouldn't give people like this a platform.

Poulsen is crap so u probz met a junky that told u that so he cud hav a convo with sum1.....the onli person allowed 2 kum bck 2 livapool wud b alonso no1 else!!

When you say "I don't agree with them..." and "trust me..." which bit of your post are you referring to? Thanks for any help that you can give with the clarification.

I am typing this from my bed in ICU in the Royal Hospital since busting my gut laughing at the idea of Poulsen coming back!

Just thought I'd say that it was a joke.

04 Jan 2012 20:14:06
hey eds any interest in hernanes of lazio or renato agusto of leverkusen ? {Ed002's Note - No and just perhaps. Liverpool have been flirting with Renato Augusto since the January 2009 window. He is certainly very good and can play as a winger or attacking midfield player. I understand that he is the German based player the club were considering before his operation in October, and it is likely that Leverkusen would listen to offers once the player has proved his fitness.}

ED is augusto a possible jan signing? {Ed002's Note - I don't think so - but have said what little I do know.}

04 Jan 2012 20:04:26
hi eds
wil joe cole persuade hazard to come to lfc
{Ed002's Note - No, Hazard will not be joining Liverpool in January.}

Why on earth would Joe cole persuade hazard? :|

After whats happened with joe cole i cant imagine he,l be singing our praises to highly lol he was only in the paper the other day saying he didnt even know who signed him he hasnt been given the fairest crack of the whip
giblet

I like how the Ed says 'hazard will not join Liverpool in January' hinting at a possible move if CL is achieved at the end of the season? {Ed002's Note - Man, you picked up the secret messages.}

Yeah, I've left, it's s**t, why don't you try it... Grow up! human beings, life, family etc, bit more complex than that don't you think. Jesus!
David

04 Jan 2012 19:54:05
Ed, is it true that on deadline day when meireles signed for chelski there was a gentlemans agreement that sturridge would join us during this window? my source tells me that time ran out on deadline day and only meireles deal was completed. my source also tells me that chelsea are now trying to back out of the agreement? could this be true?

robkop {Ed002's Note - No, it is not true.}

Thats a creative rumour. im not going to mock it as i realy hope it is true but i feel its doubtful! great rumour though haha
adam19

04 Jan 2012 19:52:22
Heard we are after Ryad Boudebouz
We was after him in the summer but it never worked out......KD is very keen on getting a right winger in the side

04 Jan 2012 19:41:53
I've been told this evening by my one and only source (don't get too excited he got his info badly wrong last summer, but I thought I'd pass it on anyway!) that the 2 striking options we are looking at are Sow and Podolski and Kenny expects to get whichever one doesn't go to Arsenal. What do you reckon to this Ed?

Chris in Tamworth {Ed002's Note - Both are on the possible list Chris as we have said. However, both will likely be on Arsenal's list as well. And I though I was your source?}

Deffo flirting with chris and mrs edd2.
frankyscouse

Sow is a top target, he himself would prefer Arsenal though and he is reluctant to move in Jan but I would think a serious target for the Summer.

So we will get Arsenal's reject , get in!

04 Jan 2012 19:34:46
Hi Eds and Macca

Have you got any news on players that may be leaving? Heard Kuyt could leave and Maxi seems to be not getting a lot of playing time.

Cheers Benno {Ed002's Note - I don't know that anyone will leave in January.}

I posted this 2 days ago:

Liverpool have enquired about the availability of Steven Fletcher. This has come from a Player Liaison Officer at LFC. I'm told there are 4 possible options being considered and 2 are from the Premier League (one is Fletcher and neither are Darren Bent is the best I could get) - on a side note, said person (PLO) has been granted extra leave they requested in January which this person takes as a sign (through experience) that the club isnt intending to sign more than one foreign player in January - meaning there is enough cover to attend to new arrival. Something of nothing that I know (the more than one foriegn player bit as nobody expects a lot of signings) but sharing everything I know. Love the site, some nonsense on here but if we all chip in with the little segments we know instead of glamourising a half truth then it could be better.

If bent isn't good enough, fletcher is a championship calibre player, no more than that, utter tosh

Flecther is far better than that big lump carrol why would he go to pool anyway wolves are better

Yea mate wolves are a awesome team just outside the relegation places why would he want to come to a club in the semi finals of one cup chasing a top 4 when he could be enjoying a real good relegation scrap he,d be a fool ill bow down to your footbaliing knowledge and acknowledge wolves are a better team than us

Your mate must have been sacked by now . How many PLO's have asked for extra time off in January

Do u say the PLO is on leave? Personal friend if his and I'm pretty sure it was him handing me my tickets out side the players entrance at man city last night?

There is more than one PLO... idiots. It used to only be Mr N Guard but more were brought in - he first looked after Patrik Berger and the club acknowledged that they needed more as time went by as they were bringing in more and more foreign players. They do everything for the new players when they first arrive at the club. My 'friend' has been allowed leave - which isnt a holiday. Just reading between the lines that this means they dont intend to sign more than one foreign player in January. If you read what I say we have enquired about Fletcher - the club dont want to be stuck without a striker should any other deals fall through - he is not the first name on the list but he is somebody they know they can get. I'm not saying they have made an offer or are in talks...... they have enquired about his availability. You lot forget yourselves - in recent years we never look at strikers from smaller clubs do we - Crouch (Southampton), Bellamy (Blackburn - 1st time). Sorry i posted now.

Ped

I dont see why you should be sorry ped its nice of you to post little things youve heard this is a rumours site after all its up to the others how they take it but usually there always un named posters replying with the abuse they av give u just ignore them mate i believe its possible we could look at steven fletcher january is a hard time to get any real quality players so you never know

Fellow reds, just for the record Cavani will not be signing for us. (He is almost certainly bound to a move to Real Madrid)

Darren bent will also not be signing.

Cheers

Snowbed

Bent not signing is like a big sigh

We've got a new Macca on the horizon

I hope you mean a sigh of relief.

His agent did say something hilarious though. those came out of The Sun, a paper that frankly isn't even good for cleaning car windows."

Ura genius.....it took u this long 2 work out cavani nt gna cum 2 us

04 Jan 2012 18:25:24
I can pretty much guarantee that Bent will not sign..

I have no idea who will at the moment..

Also i still stand by the fact we will redevelop Anfield..

Cheers

Macca {Ed002's Note - And before you ask, this is the real Macca.}

Doesn't mean he's right though.

Matt Wollacott {Ed002's Note - Please read the words Matt - "pretty much guarantee" etc. All Macca, and the Eds, try to do is give the best we have. We can guarantee very little, although I can say with confidence that Neymar won't be signing in January.}

Cheers Macca all information greatly received

Jim

Talk of New Stadium right is all BS then ?

Thank you very much. I was sick and tired of this bent rumour.

Cool Story Bro.

Oooohhhh thank you thank you thank you...i don't feel bent (oo-er!) would add any spark to the side. I'm hoping for a signing that would excite and energise the squad for the push for CL

Allseeingaaiiii

That post made my day macca!

Red Rout

Thanks Macca. Can sleep a little easier now. Not that Bent isn't a bad player, however having been capped for England for the price we would have to pay for him (a very good player for an also ran team) we could be scouring the globe and buying a top international goal scorer.

Good news about Anfield, that history iss what seperates us from all the other teams. We just need to convince some of these doom and gloom supporters to follow someone else. One loss, be it a bad scoreline, when we had plenty of the ball and just lacked the final ball (take a bow Mr Downing) does not justify a bunch of idiots calling for Dalglish's head. People have short memories, just over 12 months ago the picture wass a hell of a lot bleaker.

ChrisE

Cheers Macca great stuff and thanks ed002 for being ed002! Lol

Square tomato

Any ideas of who will sign {Ed002's Note - How did you interpret the words "I have no idea who will at the moment"?}

Finally an end to the bent rumours
thanks macca

BigD

My guess for the 'who is Macca' debate a while back - John McCrirrick. Dare you back it?!?!

Macca why are liverpool going to tel you who they are buying ? let get real here {Ed002's Note - What is wrong with some of you people?}

I'm not saying hes not right, i'm saying now everyone with there bs sources claim that they new this all along. And how Bent possible not signing is a good thing, which it isn't

Thanks for the help eds and Macca. Hopefully some clarity to the situation now.

Thank god i dont rate him at all

THE BIRD

Nice one Macca, much appreciated mate.

Top man Macca, always a please reading your input, even if others have nothing to add of any credence

Does anyone know when we will receive a statement from LFC about the stadium?

Funny how People are all "where's Macca what's Macca thinks have you heard from Macca I love Macca!" then when they don't get to hear what they want it's "Macca The Muppet" never valued his option anyway.... But can't really remember him being wrong myself!!

Cheers Macca, you're a gent.

Red Pedro.

Thank god 4 that!!

:D

MrYNWA_Mayweather

Sound. The media have got it in for the club and I reckon a juicy, suprise signing may just happen. It happens in politics all the time and the club need a distraction, so let's hope something good happens (although I doubt it will or that the club will use propoganda tactics)

DaveyBootle

Macca your info is a real treat i find myself checking 5 or 6 times a day to see if you have any updates on stadium and transfer,cheers m8

Bent rumours are a smokescreen where gonna sign Patrice Evra!! Thanks Macca for putting us out of our misery...Can you imagine Bent and Caroll upfront?? Dumb and Dumber springs to mind.....Can you imagine the pickles they would both get into! Miami_Red

Please stop saying the media have it in for LFC or Macca saying LFC think Evra is lying. Suarez admitted he said the word

Good to hear from you mate, thanks for putting an end to this BS about Bent. Take care

VM YNWA

What's the point in coming on shooting the man/lady down for offerings a snippet on what he knows. He has provided great information in the past an gets nothing but stick. One person other then ed001 an 002that has decent reliable info that will just think what's the point and not bother posting again. Show some respect for the guy. He doesn't have to post. Ed002 priceless fomented on this one with obvious answers which I can't help but laugh at lol.....

Quigz23

Darren Bent for that ammount of money would've been madness, so lets hope you're right Macca.

Cheers Macca! But isn't it true we were keen on him just not at the 25M Villa were asking for and the high wages the player was looking for? I like Bent but at that price no way.

Shame relly he was just what we need, his sprint speed is awesome on fifa :(

04 Jan 2012 18:22:52
just seen on skysports that there is interest in bent but villa say they will reject if a bid is made. would maybe take bent to request a transfer to get this one going.

belfast red adam

Please remember that Sky operate a betting service. In all transfer windows for the last god knows how many years they fabricate transfer rumours to drive their betting odd's. I never ever believe a supposed transfer rumour on Sky until i see the player presented to the media by his new club.

04 Jan 2012 18:18:07
hey ed, do you think the chances of us signing luuk de jong diminish with twente getting a new manager? {Ed002's Note - I really don't know - but there is a way to go still in the transfer window and I suspect he was a summer target in the first place. But, if Moussa Sow leaves Lille expect a push from them for De Jong.}

Hi ed are we interested in sow? {Ed002's Note - He was the Lille player being looked at. He is available and Arsenal, Spurs and Newcastle are all interested as well.}

04 Jan 2012 17:58:43

soldado even stevie g says he would love him to sign for lfc

No he didn't!

Ok then to be more accurate,he said thats who he would like to see at anfield in stevie g;s question time

04 Jan 2012 17:58:25
overherd a conversation that liverpool are forming a bid of whats believed to be around £45m for luka modric

Nice joke like hes gunna sign for a team below his current team lol

B****cks of bibilcal probations!!

Where did you here this? The Liverpool Board Room? Utter Rubbish!

Turn your pc off mate

ste liverpool

No chance

Was this a conversation between god and the devil?

Maybe he heard this in a cave from a couple of male goblins; I hear Modric's brothers are in the know about his goings on.

You should get that checked

Championship manager...pretened football.
The rest..real life football.

04 Jan 2012 17:47:42
I have heard allot of rumours coming out of Rangers FC that Nikica Jelavic has been linked to Liverpool. I hope this is not the case as he is not the answer nor is Bent!

Jelavic has been muttered, but no by the people that matter!

Jelavic is way to good for crappie Liverpool we gubbed u,s lot so u,s must be bad Cos we are rubbish

04 Jan 2012 17:43:40

Xherdan Shaqiri will be signing for liverpool in the summer
i have a close friend who lives in Switzerland who is a big Bassel fan the fee is around 20 million pounds with Maxi part of the deal

I have also been informed that liverpool are looking to sign Rodrigo Moreno Machado from Benfica before the deadline
{Ed002's Note - I recall a buy-back on Machado and there is certainly no deal with Basel for Shaqiri at this time.}

Machado would be great. loads of potential

Woould love to see shaqiri.. but a Striker will be more welcome

04 Jan 2012 17:36:03
From what I've have heard Comolli is waiting for the ok of the owners to make a move for Cavani. Hope this is true! Also heard Gaston Ramirez name mentioned. Just what I've heard, most likely untrue, but you never really know...

YNWA

Ladies and Gents, Please stop with the Cavani, Pato, Lavessi, Hiiguain etc, all will never happen.

Liverpool is a working progress and not looking at a top 4 this season.

Possible transfers De-Jong or Bent, but no one else.

I predict 2 transfers max and not huge names.

If Carlsberg done wishes that would be one of mine...Suarez and cavani would be a lethal combo as Carrol just doesnt look LFC quality at the moment even my girlfriend who hates football asked why the big No9 was doing bugger all and that the fella at the right back position was rubbish i think we also need a decent CDM to fill the gap for Lucas as spearing is just plain awful in that position Kelly really should be playing iat RB

I agree with the man above me

Johnson is a great RB.. nthe one who says Liverpool isnt looking at Top 4 is really gota be kiddin himself

Martin Kelly really should be playing RB glen johnson is great but makes too many mistakes

04 Jan 2012 17:16:55
hi eds i have herd rumours the liverpool have put a transfer to michle richeds from man city also that cleveraly from man u might take a trip to asnfield. ed is there any chance this might happen. also one that i know is defenatly true is that andy carrolmight go to psg. {Ed002's Note - No, I very much doubt it.}

Are you having a laugh?

"also one that i know is defenatly true is that andy carrolmight go to psg"

there is something wrong with this sentence

Micah Richards nope not this time!

How many transfers from amn u to liverpool have you seen? Also Cleverley is injured and united are very low on midfield personel

Three of the worst rumours ive seen ever.

J

Are u drunk?

eds just read a statement from one of the directors at FC twente which says that luuk de jong definately wont be sold in this transfer window, any thoughts? {Ed002's Note - None.}

A player not being 'for sale' does not mean that the player will not move. It simply means that the club aren't looking explicitly to sell him, every player has their price.

Soldado is hunted by Liverpool and Chelsea. Soldado has a £30m release clause in his contract.

Fernando Reges is also hunted by Liverpool and it's estimated that he will cost around 12M.

This is the latest news I have heard. Sounds legit,but I think 12M for Reges sounds cheap. Maybe too cheap for being believable.

I have seen this around the net aswell. But it says some places that Liverpool is ready for a 45M bid for the duo. So it means that one of these two will go for more then this. My guess is Reges will be more expensive.

Goodluck guys,let's hope these two players will arrive in red soon. ;-)

{Ed002's Note - If you see it with the name Reges I would not trust it - I have never known him called by that name.}

Hello eds. That is my easy way to write faster,nothing more. ;-)

By his teammates his vakler "beaet" anyways. {Ed002's Note - His name is Fernando and that is how every knows him. It would be like referring to Ronaldo as Aveiro.}

Jelavic wants to come to liverpool all over sky sports website,very interesting i love croation footballers very technicall.....

Does not say that

Yes it does go into transfer section link

If we get Him I'd want KK to get the SACK!!

Its one article on the liverpool page and it just says he is flattered to be linked with Liverpool, nothing else. He was watched by us though but deemed not near good enough.

Very technical ? he must be the exception to the rule then !

Technical, like Biscan!

Marco Reus will officially join Borussia Dortmund in the summer, both Reus and the sporting director at Dortmund has confirmed this. Does that mean Gotze will definitely be moving in the summer ED?

AG {Ed002's Note - It does not mean that but he probably will.}

Gotze signed an extension until 2013...

04 Jan 2012 16:28:07
Any Marin interest,at moment from LFC? {Ed002's Note - AC Milan, Chelsea, Liverpool, Spurs, Napoli, Juventus and Roma have all shown an interest in Marko Marin in the past and I hear that Arsenal are interested at the moment. Much will depend on whether or not Liverpool make the Champions League as to whether he is a viable option or not; and the summer is a considerable distance away at present. Perhaps Italy is the most likely destination, and I understand his preferred destination.}

04 Jan 2012 16:35:16
An FC Twente Spokesman has just reported that Luuk De Jong is currently not for sale. Eds does this make a move for Soldado or Podolski more likely? {Ed002's Note - No.}

04 Jan 2012 16:33:51
Hey there ed , which striker are we signing in jan, I gather from the post that we are interested in luuk de Jong and darren bent, I think de Jong is a better prospect , also is there any interest or negotiations with cavani, who is the most likely, also what is the deal with higuain ,is he signing for. Chelsea or is it possible he could come to us ? Also why don't we sign a really good defender like Cahill or Scott dann or subotic {Ed002's Note - We don't know who is signing for sure but it will not be Cavani or Higuain. I think the club are well placed with centre backs, and I cannot see why the fans want more.}

Cavani the most likely? higuin to liverpool? we re a big club but not in the position to get these players until we reach the champions league again even then we will have to pay a mega fee and mega weekly wages to prize them away fromother suiters

04 Jan 2012 16:31:58
Liverpool have shown interest in ryad boudebouz from sochaux and stephane sessegnon from sunderland

04 Jan 2012 16:26:40
Hey Ed, just wondering is there any interest from Liverpool in Spartak Moscow's Brazilian Striker Welliton? But I hear that Dortmund are the most interested because they are scared of losing Lewandowski.
Thanks {Ed002's Note - Welliton may be available at the right price but I don't see that Liverpool have any interest in him. There was summer interest from Wolfsburg and Hamburg in Welliton but he was always expected to move to Rubin Kazan. There was some talk in a few corridors about a deal including Arsharvin a little while back aswell. Oddly enough Dortmund are the most interested right so a player exchange involving Lewandowski is not impossible.}

Liverpool have been long-term admirers of Valencia striker Roberto Soldado and were rumoured to have had a bid turned down in the summer. With Liverpool's striking problems this season, it's thought the Merseysiders will renew their interest this month.

However, reports today have claimed Chelsea are also monitoring the 26-year-old with Andre Villas-Boas keen to add striking reinforcements to his squad. Nicolas Anelka has already departed to China, while Didier Drogba has also been offered record-breaking wages to move to the far East.

Soldado has been in prolific form for Valencia in recent seasons and is finally breaking into the Spanish national team set-up, and it's believed he has a £30m release clause in his contract.

Fernando Reges tracked
Porto midfielder Fernando Reges is also wanted by both Chelsea and Liverpool. The Reds are on the look-out for a midfield anchor-man following injury to Lucas, while Chelsea are also keen to add cover to their defensive midfield department amid fears over the long-term fitness of the injured Michael Essien.

Fernando, affectionately nicknamed as the ˜beast' by his team-mates due to his imposing frame and attitude on the pitch, is a no-nonsense midfielder who would add steal to the middle of the park.

Porto are reported to be willing to listen to offers for the 26-year-old Brazilian and may be willing to do business for a fee in the region of £12m.

12m...! Only

Twente spokesman rules out a January move for Luuk De Jong.

04 Jan 2012 16:42:24
Heard we have inquired about the possibility of Matt Jarvis....early stages but est. 8mil. Good signing in my eyes, will get the ball to Carroll quickly and accurately, unlike downing and is a real team player, he knows what his strengths are and he sticks to them.We could then play Bellamy off Carroll if needed.... dont shoot the messenger

The Merry Pippin

Not the quality liverpool needs imo.

Please no....a few snippets on match of the day does not make a player. Not even a Wolves regular, definately not Liverpool class. Make it stop!!

04 Jan 2012 16:40:46
Apparently Darren bent stayed in a hotel in Manchester last night and joey Barton just said he's just seen Clinton Dempsey and Craig Bellamy together

You duck he's on about the game at fulham

Joey saw the clip of Bellamy and Dempsey going head to head like himself and Bradley Johnson did!! Honestly, have a think before posting {Ed002's Note - So a straight swap Bellamy for Dempsey is what you are saying?}

Are you daft? He's on about the incident between Bellamy and Dempsey when we played Fulham

Yeah and I have just seen Messi at The Adelphi......

Apparently your'e talking pish, think before you type!

04 Jan 2012 16:11:48
Sky Sports Sources in France have rumoured that Comolli is to rekindle his interest in Ryad Boudebouz. I also seem to remember he was being considered in the Summer if we could not get Bellamy. Could be very possible and at a fee of roughly 8 million it could be possible. {Ed002's Note - Boudebouz has had a good season for Sochaux and PSG are showing an interest. St-Etienne wanted the player to replace Dmitri Payet and Marseille, Lyon and Newcastle showed some interest over the summer and Real Betis have made recent enquiries. There was previous interest from Spurs and Liverpool and certainly both made tentative enquiries. This latest news of Liverpool interest could of course be simply a recycled story from the summer, but it is not beyond the realms of possibility, but I doubt he will be available in January - perhaps one for the summer.}

Hey Ed, cheers for the reply. Is it true Comolli met with the Sochaux president concerning Boudebouz before they played Lyon at home this season? {Ed002's Note - That I don't know, sorry.}

04 Jan 2012 16:09:54
Any news on Ryad Boudebouz? He has been great this season.
Great site, btw :-) {Ed002's Note - Boudebouz has had a good season for Sochaux and PSG are showing an interest. St-Etienne wanted the player to replace Dmitri Payet and Marseille, Lyon and Newcastle showed some interest over the summer and Real Betis have made recent enquiries. There was previous interest from Spurs and Liverpool and certainly both made tentative enquiries. I have a business contact who is very close with a couple of the Directors at Villa. He says conversations have taken place between Villa and Liverpool for Bent but Villa are desperate to hold on to the player. Bent may have to force the move himself for it to go through but it's thought unlikely he will go as far as putting in a transfer request.

BigJanFan

I have heard something different, Bent desperate for the move and will push it through as long as Liverpool come up with a firm offer.

Hi Eds,

Seeing these posts about Bent and also about us supposedly bidding for De Jong, what's the likelihood of these actually being true?

Matty08 {Ed002's Note - Better than the likelihood of you not wasting out time by reading the other posts.}

Eds why do put sarcastic comments? Matty08 was only asking you a question so all you need to do is be polite. {Ed002's Note - A vast amount of our time is wasted because people make absolutely no effort to find out what questions have been asked already. If you cannot cope with the odd sarcastic comment from the Editors who give up there time to keep this page ruming, perhaps you need to move on elsewhere.}

Hehe love that answer :D

04 Jan 2012 15:54:37
I've been doing some reading on the internet and found the following:
Kuyt to Galatasary - 10million (seems a bit much for him, but thats the figure)
Darren Bent to Liverpool - 21million, heard on Radio 5
Luuk De Jong - Has admitted having the dream to play in the PL....thats what its looking like at the moment, but as everyone knows, takes one conversation to change everything
Kabir

I don't want bent

Sadly after last night £2 would be a steal for dirk

I hope we do not get Bent!!

How many people have actually seen De Joong play! i'd imagine not many, yet most fans seem ready to bestow him greatness. Liverpool of old used to buy one, maybe two a year, then coach them into the L.F.C. principle. No quick fixes chaps.
David

04 Jan 2012 15:48:03
Hi eds love this site Is there any chance of getting hulk I think he would be a amazing signing {Ed002's Note - No chance, sorry.}

£80m+ buy out clause, no chance

04 Jan 2012 15:39:40
Hi Back Page of the Dublin Herald says Liverpool are interested in bringing Robbie Keane in on loan not sure what to make of that..

Martin C
{Ed002's Note - Most improbable.}

Ya!! That will sort our lack of pace upfront out NOT! Un-frickin-believable

Keane would never be allowed back near Anfield.

Im dating a Uruguayan girl and we live in Miami. Her father is a high profile comittee member in the Uruguayan FA and he informed me that Liverpool made a very serious enquiry regarding Ramirez to get him this month. Bologna rebuffed the interest as they know that there will be a bidding war for the player in the summer. He also said he didnt expect Liverpool to pay over the odds in the summer. So he feels Ramirez to Liverpool is a no go. Also the Suarez issue is enraging the Uruguayans as they think he has been made a POLITICAL scapegoat by Blatter and the FA. But conversely they are refusing to believe that Suarez has a black grandfather..More news when and if I get it! Miami Red

How would a member of a Uruguayan FA know about the situation of Liverpool regarding transfers? Just a thought.

I stopped reading this after the first few words. More nonsense.

As a member of the Uruguayan FA he will have knowledge of the status of players who play for the Uruguayan national side, like Ramirez. If interest has been shown about him by Liverpool (who have two Uruguayan internationals) then it's perfectly reasonable that he'd be aware of this.

This post is entirely plausible.

First, I suspect matters involving Uruguayan players quickly make it through the gossip grapevine. I live in Miami and it is teeming with very well-connected South Americans. It seems almost anyone who is anyone in SA has a family member here.

Second, this matter with Suarez will occupy many people. Suarez is probably the most high-profile player Uruguay has produced in my lifetime. And there is no question politics has partly driven the FA action against him. {Ed002's Note - The problem with the first post relates to Bologna who have discussed and shared information about Ramirez - and there was no mention of Liverpool. So if the enquiries and one offer are known, and if the situation with his agent and overseas sales is known, why would Bologna not tell the truth about Liverpool.}

I'd like to know more about the Uruguayan girl!

Why are there so many haters on this site? If an England International was switching clubs or being looked at dont you think Trevor Brooking and his high ranking cronies would know about it?

Yeah and im dating an argentinian girl whose dad is high up in the afa and he says that lionel messi to liverpool is a done deal.

This man has no girlfriend, and had never even heard of Uruguay before we signed Luis, #Best if we ignore.

04 Jan 2012 15:23:02
I feel sorry for all the people who came on this and said Darren Bent was a target, merely just passing on info to help the site and all they got was abuse. He is a target and their is serious interest.

I back u mate, think bent would be a cracking buy, natural finisher, some people just don't have a clue

04 Jan 2012 14:39:22
villa fans on there page stating bent has gone, have i missed out? or is it pure speculation

Its not true pal pure rubbish

Are they happy or sad?

Hope so i know some dont want him on here but he will score 15 goals a season which is alot more than our current strikers arew getting

Plz no... gona be paying alot for something thats not worth it...

Just because he scored goals at other teams does not mean he will score with us. All those clubs played very much to Bents strenghts where he was the focal point and balls were played over the top to him, we dont play that way this is why lots of us dont think he's the answer to our problems.

Dodge

Cant be any worse than that lump of wood you paid £35m for.biggest waste of money ever.you,ll never get that back.

But all we try and do is play to Carroll's talents by floating hopeless and sub standard crosses into the box so why not get Bent and try a bit of pace and direct running?

What would he cost? He cost 24mil last year and Villa will want a profit. The magic figure of 35 million jumps to mind

Who's to say its Villa fans writing the posts?

Bent will be a revelation at lfc wait and see.

Adam Morgan for zilch - watch him score
Big Red Man

I would happily ave him for 15-18 mil which I think is his actual price anything above that NO THANK YOU!!

GuvTOB

04 Jan 2012 14:37:46
Ed are kagawa or doumbia possible jan signings? {Ed002's Note - Both are perhaps possible but neither are likely. Liverpool have been one of the clubs, along with Udinese, Spurs, Villarreal and Valencia, who have shown an interest in Kagawa this season. Kagawa himself has had a generally pretty poor season and although it has picked up recently he is not making the Dortmund teamsheet as an automatic choice anymore. I doubt that he will be moving in January. There was an enquiry from Newcastle about Doumbia and it is likely if there is another English team who have actually enquired it will be Arsenal. No doubt other clubs have had scouts at games but that is some way from making any serious enquiries for the player. Doumbia does a good job of talking himself up and CSKA will likely want £25M or so for the player. Getting through to the last 16 of the Champions League makes a January move less likely.}

04 Jan 2012 14:35:33
Mitra Kukar superstar Marcus Bent has travelled to the UK to speak to Liverpool, a fee in the region of £200k has been agreed between the two clubs and now he must agree personal terms. Liverpool will also look to bring Bognor Regis Town talisman Jason Prior to the club for a reported fee of £15k.

Heard there Is a possiblilty that were looking at ibrahim affelay of barca, what do reckon Ed's as I know we were interested before he moved to barca. Any legs in it? {Ed001's Note - he has an ACL injury that will keep him out, almost certainly for the rest of the season.}

04 Jan 2012 14:14:24
Eds whats the chances of Drogba wearin the Liver Bird upon his chest? I know about the China situation, but China? Really?? Drogba is suited to the prem and could do a crackin job for us {Ed001's Note - not going to happen, money is his motivation and we won't be giving him as much as he would want.}

04 Jan 2012 13:37:48
Mark Lawrenson has apparently claimed the Bent deal is done on Radio 5 last night.

Matt Wollacott

Thats why robbie keane is going villa, 21 million for bent.

Hope this is not true we dont need overated overpriced english players we need quality

Just what we need a goalscorer like Bent..Cracking news J4T96

Dont be so silly mat woll

Are we trying to make Randy learner the richest man in the world? so overpriced.

God i hope not. whos next bobby zomora??
he is certainly not good enough for us. there was a post here about cardozo from benfica?? his record speaks for it self and would prob cost half of what bent is worth!

I would go apes**t mad if this was true...

Hope Lawrenson is wrong. Don,t think Bent is the answer

Why do people not like bent, he is a proven prem goalscorer, he is exactly what we need, consistently in the top 5 on the scoring charts, do you people not know this

What like Robbie Kean,proven goalscorer,always in the top 5 of scoring charts.Get real,we need quality.

Just NOT lfc standard.

Well it would be a good way to shut up all the Suarez haters

Perhaps a replacement for Suarez who could be looking for a way out of the club?

Disney!

If Darren Bent was Spanish you'd be all over him! He's a great goal scorer, about to hit his prime. In today's climate £21mil is cheap for someone who consistently gets 15-20 goals a season in the best league in the world.

Bent is at our level now, we are no longer a top 4 club fighting to get top player im afraid to say. We need to spot thinking we can the likes of messi, kun, villa and pato and start looking at the likes of bent

These people saying such a such a player is not LFC standard really bugs me. Like do you feel Carroll and Adam are LFC standard? Actually what is LFC standard? Realistically we are top 6 in the prem, we can't attract the world's best players like Hazard or Neymar or Higuain. We need good decent players that will help rebuild us to a stage where we can get back in the Champions League and go from there... Darren Bent springs to mind.

Keane has never been a consistent goalscorer, maybe once in the top 5, bent has been in the top 3 for at least the last 4 years, best english striker over recent years and that includes rooney, so you get real idiot, you know nothing of other clubs and players

Oh God please no... We don't need anymore over-rated english players, we've got too many of them, kk needs to stop wasting money on them didn't we pay £20m for downing? when we could've got some spanish players half the price. We should get Soldado at all costs.

TheBA300

This is outrageous. Yes we ARE top 6 or worse. Because we're buying English dross.

If you're in a hole, you DON'T keep digging.. Unless you're Commoli and Co..

PS disgusted with Henry and Werner and their cowardice re Luis.
My guess is that the buggers are trying to force Luis out. As someone said before, NESV always start by trying to discredit a player they want to sell.

I wouldn't be surprised if Kenny called them a pair of xxxxs too!

I like darren bent but he wouldnt fit in the way we play he s like torres a lone ranger we dont play like that under kenny

04 Jan 2012 13:30:04
Hi Eds, Mark Lawrenson has just stated on bbc5 live that the Bent deal is done. Cant see how he would be so certain but there ya go! Also just wondering have we still got an interest in Perotti at Sevilla? {Ed002's Note - Perotti will probably be available in the summer - there may still be interest then.}

04 Jan 2012 13:27:57
Ed I've just Been on a aston villa website n most of the fans seem to think bent is as good as sold to Liverpool , have you's heard anythink ?

04 Jan 2012 13:02:51
Hi ed's, just want to say what an awesome job you guys are doing. if we are looking for a cheapish striker, why haven't we looked at oscar cardozo ( 76 goals in 116 appearances for benfica) and have we looked at sebastian Giovinco of Parma at all?? ( 7 goals this season in 14 appearances) hes a player who has excellent dribbling skills and is a free kick specialist who can operate as a striker or a winger, not to mention hes only 24. whats your thought on both of these two players?

regards
Bas YNWA:) {Ed001's Note - you would really need to ask different people why a player hasn't been looked at, though Cardozo has anyway. He was of interest last January, as was Giovinco.}

I agree, Cardozo good option, cheap too, if u compare Andy's 35 millions, imagine how much is CR and Messi worth ;)

In my opinion i think cardozo would be an excellent buy. if we looked at him last jan, i reckon kk and dc should look at him again this season. its frustrating watching andy/hendo/adams/downing all the way in Australia, cant imagine what it is like watching these players in real life week in week out. ohh well hope KK cant sort it out with a few decent buys. thanks for answering my post ed.
Bas YNWA :)

Rumours from this morning claims Liverpool are looking closely at Stephane Sessegnon, Porto defender Jorge Fucile and Ryad Boudebouz. And that Sessegnon seems quite likely. Jorge Fucile can opperate as a DM.

Your reading lfc website its only rumors pal

That's why he said 'rumours' ... ?

Martin O'Neil will not sell Sunderlands best player! Don't you remember the Gareth Barry debacle?!

04 Jan 2012 12:22:20
If de Rossi moves to city, would that maybe open a door Adam Johnson? {Ed002's Note - No.}

I take it you know nothing about de Rossi as u assume he's a winger?

Aha not unless DM de rossi is now bombing down the flank

Why would a defensive midfield player make a winger leave

Xx

Why the obsession amongst some fans with Adam Johnson. Seems to me that they are the M.O.T.D. supporters, see a couple of clips and think he's the new Heighway. There is a reason he's not in the city team, ie. inconsistent and unproductive. Won't win much with city rejects.
David.

04 Jan 2012 12:18:52
Hi Eds! What about Antoine Griezmann? Is Liverpool interested?

BASQUE RED {Ed002's Note - THis was dealt with yesterday - please read the posts.}

04 Jan 2012 12:17:14
Ed001, you say you hope that we follow up our interest in Soldado which i hope too, is it at all likely? Cheers {Ed002's Note - It is certainly possible.}

04 Jan 2012 12:17:01
Hi Eds. any truth that other clubs interested in Kuyt? It's time to cash in. He has been a great servant but we've had our moneies worth and unfortunately he just doesn't look interested in playing for us anymore. His workrate was always his asset but he seems to have lost that. Shame. Any truth in a move? Cheers. {Ed002's Note - Please read the other posts.}

I don't agree that he does not look as if he wants to play for us as he always gives 100%. I do however agree that he is in decline and any decent offer should be accepted.
CR

04 Jan 2012 12:13:30
Are there any legs to this Bent stuff that SSN are trotting out in there transfer window round ups? I hate them as much as the next person but they say they're 100% certain of interest. I hope they're very deluded myself.

London Red {Ed002's Note - All I can re-iterate is that there is nothing that I am aware of that confirms any approach to the club or the player's agent from Liverpool. The only club I know have submitted a firm offer is QPR.}

04 Jan 2012 12:13:10
looks like bent to liverpool then, source of sky sports was 100% certain interest...macca and eds knew nothing bout that 1..lol

Lol, I guess Bent is just a smokescreen. I trust Macca more than ssn

Don't knock Macca and the Ed's to soon. Personally I doubt we are interested in Bent. I believe it is the usual paper talk.
CR {Ed001's Note - I am amazed people are so stupid as to believe Sky Sports is reliable any more, they used to be, but these days they are just there to stir up betting markets.}

100% certain interest does not mean 100% deal done, don't hate on them just because you are believing some article designed to get views by saying words such as 100% certain...

Spot on ed. Im surprised sky havnt been done by betting industry yet. They own skybet. It's insider trading same as was done by daily mirror shares page years ago!

Is this some sort of joke?
Overpriced, dreary stereotypical English signings to replace elegant foreign stars.
And what do we get when that fails?
Ahh yes, more dreary overpriced dross...
Even Collymore basically said Bent is crap..
Torres v Carroll
Masch v Spearing
Alonso v Adam
Gerrard v Henderson
Jeesus..

Bent deal will be done and the price is £24m,DC has been after bentfor over a year now.but the great news this window is Adam Johnson will be next!
REDMAN

Ssn isn't reliable at all... Remember last transfer window when they said Vargas was a dead cert to join arsenal? I will only believe it when I see it. Besides, i would prefer luuk de jong! HK

If it is true then the clickliverpool journalist deserves a lot of credit. I personally trust Maccabeus and the eds.

DaveyBootle

I was knockin eds r macca i was just havin a laugh but i personally think bent wudnt be a bad buy, hes quick, he plays on the shoulder of the last man, he can play of big front men and most important...he scores GOALS

04 Jan 2012 12:04:54
SSN saying we have 100% interest in Darren Bent. However there isn't anything in place to indicate Liverpool have made any sort of move for him yet.

04 Jan 2012 11:57:14
Hi ed, I've noticed that we are not quick enough on the brake where every other team we play are quick on the break, we slow the game down! Is there any chance of players coming e.g Adam Johnson, ozil, podalski, cavani, who would quicken are attack? {Ed002's Note - Please read the other posts and use the search function.}

It is not the pace of the players that slows us down but the tendency to play to many passes backwards and side wards
CR

CR is right.
I have seen our squad do great counters this year infact, however with certain players not wanting to risk taking someone on or running at them and therefore playing the 'safe' pass slows it all down..

They wont take people on because they are not quick enough to get past most defenders, only Bellamy and Johnson seem to have a go with any effect.

04 Jan 2012 11:51:51
Fernando Torres maybe on his way to PSG. Im not yet sure if it's a transfer or loan but what I do know is negotions are underway

Sooner he leaves the premiership and the country the better

No way!
Torres was the reason Ancelotti got fired! And now he's gonna bring him to PSG?

PITSILFC

04 Jan 2012 11:45:56
Good morning ed's,
After last nights performance againt city, does this not now show the board that we need a striker a.s.a.p. We should be in the market now tieing a deal up because we can't go on like that, let's cash in on kuyt while we can, and bring in a new striker. I'm guessing your sick of saying no about Darren Bent so what about someone else Big Andy needs some support because last night he was winning the ball with no one to lay it off to. Who do you personally think we should have a tinker for in this window Ed's?

Cheers, Big man Rouge {Ed001's Note - the plan was always to find a striker, nothing has changed because of one match. That is why we have been scouting half the strikers in world football all season. Luuk De Jong does seem to be head of the queue, though personally I am hoping we follow up our interest in Soldado.}

It's the way we are lined up.At times even on a counter attack we had 3 reds v 6 man city backs.There are never enough bodies in the box.The buck must stop with Kenny who spent so much on extremely average players and not one of them can actually put a cross into the box or get up to support any carroll knock downs.Hiring Kenny was probably the biggest mistake John W Henry made because it will hard to sack him now.The fans love him in such an untouchable way.

Get a grip lad, the way we were lined up? Board have made a mistake in hiring kenny? We have one of the best defensive records in the league, our issue is we cant convert.

I'm not convinced last night is the best example to use to illustrate our need for another striker.

Last night, for the most part, showed we desperately need to replace Downing, Kuyt and Adam. All were absolutely terrible.

Agree those 3 were poor. We need to build attacks quicker. This does not mean long balls just passing the ball forward earlier instead of the seemingly obligatory square and back passes which allow the opposition to get goal side.
CR

Best defensive record in the league?What difference does that make?Kenny picks and sets up the team.He bought Carroll to be a focal point of our attack and none of our players can play to his strengths.The fact he thinks this is the way to win football matches is terrible.He's put his faith in Adam in the middle of the park who is a great championship player.Too slow.Downing is garbage.Henderson too young.The squad was not strengthened with the right players,a fortune was spent and that goes down to Kenny and Commoli

Agree mate. Many players bought over the summer r a waste of space. We shud look at albrighton. Definitely better than downing.
Indian Buzzer

All season adam and downing have been very poor,adam insists on taking free kicks and corners and his delivery has been shocking,as one poster has already said he is a good championship player but thats it..downing has nothing in his locker not up to liverpool standard,henderson is young so has time,carrol will come good but needs time and service,kenny has spent alot of money on sub standard players but really can we finish higher than fifth,i doubt it, chelsea will beat us too it

Talk about the negativity in here from Liverpool fans. I'm as frustrated as anyone else but you're all coming out with knee jerk reactions. From what I saw in the game last night we kept the ball very well but we lacked that final third cutting edge. City had Dzeko and aguero up front, both world class strikers, both who are pretty clinical when on song. We don't have that so we suffer. If the fans had their way Liverpool would be fielding two half a team every week because they rest wouldn't be good enough. Downing has yet to hit top form, Henderson is too young? come on...he has played international football and is in his early twenties, he's not a 15 year old schoolboy. Adam had a poor game but he's not a poor player. Carroll is another matter, but Downing had a good chance -thanks to a lovely ball from Henderson. Enrique, Bellamy and Suarez were all signed under Kenny and they haven't turned out too bad either. Less of the knee jerk reactions everyone, try to be positive!.

Positive Red

What does staying positive actually do for the team?Head on down to anfield and tell the players and staff to keep positive.I'd prefer to sit here and say what i see instead of hoping that these average players will hit some kind of goldrush form.henderson is too young to be given the responsibility of getting liverpool into a top 4 spot.This may be a knee jerk reaction from some fans but not from me.I just see a very similar trend since the start of the season.People expect it and hope it will get better.It may even get worse.All possible.

Eds just with Soldado, is he currently on wages that liverpool would hypothetically be able to cover? and also do you think he would be open to a move to us if we made a bid? cheers {Ed002's Note - I don't expect wages would be an issue. I cannot answer the second question but Liverpool would have an indication as to whether he would be open to a move before bidding.}

Eds, I'd just like clarification on something. Did we actually show any interest in David Villa before he broke his leg? Being that he was reportedly unhappy at Barcelona due to no first team football and an apparent bust up with Messi or something. If we did show any interest, has it depleted since he broke his leg or are we waiting until the summer? Cheers
{Ed002's Note - I Since the original interest a couple of years back Liverpoolo have shown no interest in David Villa. If had of been possible to persuade him to leave Spain this January and move to England it would have been to Manchester City. £30M plus for a player his age it well beyond Liverpool's means.}

Oh no doubt, the price is too hefty and I wasn't under the illusion that we would have gone for him at that price or his wages.

Thanks for the info though.

livepool hav bid 15.5 euros for luuk de jong and are way in up a bids for up to another 4 players but will sell a couple of players as well . john henry feels 4 th place is a must this season and is ready to spend . but if we dont get 4 th john henry feel a massive overhaul is nessary include players and manger and back room staff . has you hav seen with red sox took him 2 years and 3 diffenet mangers and heavy investment in players

RED INDIAN

I would think that even if its made up it would make sense,a lot of money has gone in

But how would people feel if he sacked the King himself? Dra.....maaaaaa

With a couple of good buys in the next week or so we still have a good chance of top 4 and some silverware. Don't write Kenny and co off yet. I believe they have made some mistakes but I am sure they are wise enough to rectify them.
CR

Well theyve proven to be ruthless before,taking no s t,thats what makes them a success i suppose.Ild believe your post

Its horrible to say it but kenny aint the man for the job he's been out the game to long and cant read the game as well as he should, sorry kenny but rafa needs to come back and get us back in the champions league

The owners have made their targets quite clear: top 4 this season, and the title within 3 seasons of taking over. I suspect heads will roll if neither target is reached.

My contacts say that NESV aren't serious about LFC. Its a cash cow to them. They think us mugs/ "customers", sorry "loyal fans" will keep spending cash because we've got a history.

If it wasn't for Dubai defaulting on their property commitments, we'd have been Arab owned by now. LFC was bought pretty cheaply. Most commercial sectors are struggling, but the "soccer business" as they call it, is expanding. THats the reason they are the owners. {Ed002's Note - It is hardly a cash cow given what they have been spending on the club, but there are certainly exit plan provisions in place - as there would be with any investment company.}

Anti kenny, i litterally cant belive what im reading!

Morning EDs,do you know if we have looked at Wijnaldum at all?also is there anything to suggest Kuyt is unhappy with his current role at LFC?

PM {Ed002's Note - Arsenal, Liverpool, Zenit St Petersburg, Schalke and Real Madrid have all shown an interest in Wijnaldum in the past but all is quiet right now aside from recent talk of interest from Sevilla that seemed to peter out. I have no reason to think Kuyt is unhappy with his lot.}

04 Jan 2012 10:02:56
Rumours spreading LFC have made a bid of roughly 15m euro overnight/this morning for Luuk De Jong, you heard anything Ed ?
Cheers

Aussie red {Ed002's Note - Very few clubs dealing in potential transfer between England and the Netherlands find it necessary to make bids overnight and I have heard nothing this morning. However, we have know of interest in the player since October and I understand the interest from Liverpool remains.}

I belive Luuk would be a formidable signing but what are the chances Ed? {Ed002's Note - Good.}

04 Jan 2012 10:02:21
Could we make a bid on Olic of Bayern Munich. Great experience. {Ed002's Note - Ivica Olic wants first team football assured and there is no way Bayern Munich are prepared to do that (a similar situation to Kalou). He is out of contract in the summer and can talk to foreign clubs in January and sign a pre-contract agreement. At 32 he should cost about 4M euro with confirmed interest from Galatasaray, Lazio and Wolfsburg. I think the most likely scenario is that he will stay at Bayern Munich until the summer and then move taking a decent signing on fee.}

04 Jan 2012 10:00:40
Just saw this in the German newspaper The Bild about Podolski it is in German so I will translate some of it! His contract is until Summer 2013 for weeks Poldi his nickname is the source of speculation top clubs like Arsenal, Liverpool, Galatasary, Lazio, Florence and AC Milan have been interested in the player. His manager said we have our interests and he has his! He also stated that his leaving the club is still in danger. He also stated his heart is with the club as he started there but he wants time to think about it all and has been talking to the clubs sports director Volker Finke.

i went on holiday to Barcelona i was walking down the street when I overheard a conversation what believed to be David Villa when asked are you staying at Barca he said no im joining Liverpool!

Well even with a broken leg he'd still do better than carroll

trev d

Yeah right sure you did. Was this ella on crutches as he's broken his leg. Don't make stuff up!

Was the conversation between two 5 year olds

Why yous putting this down because David Villa wanks down streets and he lives in Barcelona so why not true?

Yeah, sure....And then you woke up!!

Yeah right and my name is fernando torres and im comming instead due to the fact my pal david as a broken leg

Sometimes I have vivid dreams as well you hongo!

Anyone can do a better job than caroll but villa what a player that would be awesome

No you didn't!!!

You are crazy my friend david villa will never come to liverpool, it is the best team in the world Barcelona, it will never come home, because we have no good recruiter or the good leader is soon 4 years that have made rotten season before with Rafa Benitez was very well built with Xabi Alonso, Benayoun, Mascherano, Torres (Judas), Arbeloa, hyppia, we had a solid column steven did not let go but he has to stay there not recruit against the party it needs to support large middle it is not with Spearing, adam, downing henderson that will be in the 4 first, suarez is not our best player is gerrard, Luis Suarez needs to mate with him and carroll bellamy downing the draw who are good player. agger in defense is super strong Johnson is very good but skretl and enrique are using the small player. pepe reina a lot of errors hand.
We must recruit a defender. 3 middle. 2 striker

Here are a potential player should be Liverpool

Defender: Godin (Atletico Madrid) Cahill (Bolton) rummy (valencia)

middle: the new Xabi Alonso Martinez (Atletico Bilbao) Lucas Moura (sao paulo) Eriksen (Ajax)
Rodwell (Everton) fernando (FC Porto) Joa Moutinho (Porto) and Honda (CSKA Moscow)

striker: Cavani (Naples) Podolski (cologne) bent (Aston Villa) suljemani (ajax) Soldado (Valencia) sow (daughter)
Eden Hazard (Lille)
Thank

What are you on about?

Leave this guy alone he may be it was true you never know!

Was he on crutches or in a wheel chair. really dont want to walk to much on that broken leg

He does what down the streets ? why bother, seriously. pathetic drivel

How did this garbage get passed the eds? {Ed002's Note - This is seemingly what most posters are interested in. We get trashed either way.}

Yayyy, gonna get him on the back of my shirt! ;)

Sorry eds I didn't mean to sound like I was having a pop. I love the site and all your comments are rational and well conceived. I just laugh when I read horses**t like this.

Was messi and xavi with him :)

04 Jan 2012 04:54:42
Surely we have had Strootman watched eds? In my opinion a superior footballer to Moussa Sissoko. {Ed002's Note - Kevin Strootman maybe possible for Liverpool but I would be surprised if PSV would let him go in the January window. So perhaps one for the future.}

Both of them much better then charlie adam or henderson, so doesn't matter which 1 aslong as we get someone to replace these average buys in the middle.RedTurk

Charlie Adam, yes. Jordan Henderson, no. Whenever Stevie comes on, Jordan seems to flourish. You can see him definately taking note on how Stevie plays, so I don't see why people are slating him

04 Jan 2012 01:50:01
I've heard a rumour about Jamie O'Hara tonight. Granted, it was on twitter. But it did sound reasonably concrete. Anyone else hear this. Seems an odd move to me. I mean he is a decent player, but not really the type I thought we were looking for (or quality).

Anfield Rapstar

I wouldnt call him decent

04 Jan 2012 01:28:53
Any news about Luuk De Jong Eds please? {Ed001's Note - nothing new today, no.}

04 Jan 2012 01:28:28
Not a rumour but a video about Luuk De Jong.

The first and last goal are superb, the others are just the result of extremely poor defending.

Eredivisie defenders are much easier to pass by and to cross the ball over, there's no cover for dangerous spots in the box, no tight marking... I bet Carroll would have scored a dozen as well, but still, his technique is obviously inferior to that of de jong, hopefully he'll adapt quickly if LFC are to get him...

He is unmarked for a huge majority of goals here, this would not be the case in the prem, but he does look like hes got a good finish which we need badly

Manno

Next. big. thing. in. epl.

If only Carroll could control a ball and dribble like that...
De Jong is welcome at Anfield. He'd need to adjust to the epl defenders who are a bit more tenacious in their marking duties, though.

BooDaBooze

First of all how can you click on Disagree the guy said not a rumour but a video - there is clearly a video and no rumour what exactly don't you believe. Secondly poor defending aside the majority of those goals came from crosses. Liverpool don't set up to put crosses in hence Carrol struggling and not playing. I don't see how this guy is any different and dancing around defenders looks good but wouldn't happen in the prem. Either set up to accomodate Carrol and Suarez together or look for someone in the Suarez/Bellamey mould otherwise we've just wasted another £15m on this guy.

So you disagree aswell then?

No I wholeheartedly agree that this is indeed a video and not a rumour. Sorry my mistake I thought that was clear.

Still think we'd be better off with podolski {Ed002's Note - Unlikely but not entirely out of the question.}

Every goal bar 1 he scored was all about the quality of the cross. thats what we need some quality in midfield who can deliver the killer ball

Great deliveries... Maybe should sign some of Twentes midfielders for Carroll.
....Last goal was class

Hi eds, this isn't really liverpool related, but here goes. Have Real Madrid made enquires about Ganso?

DB {Ed002's Note - The situation with Ganso remains unchanged. He will be allowed to leave because Santos cannot get sufficient sponsorship to cover the costs of both him and Neymar. Ganso's preference is for AC Milan, or Barcelona if MIlan cannot facilitate a move. Ganso has his heart set on AC Milan, but Milan have a non-EU quota issue if they are to sign him. The quota's can be increased by borrowing from other teams in exchange for players on loan - which seems to me like it should not be allowed, but it is. To make a loan happen in January, AC Milan would need to give up one non-EU player (probably Mario Yepes) to bring Ganso (or their second choice, Fernando) in or obtain an an additional allocation. I suspect that Barcelona would not be interested before the summer. A 40M euro bid from Anzhi Makhachkala was rejected and Ganso made it clear, regardless of the efforts of Roberto Carlos, that his desire is Italy and preference is AC Milan. He was not keen on a move to England so there remains very little chance that something can be done with Chelsea who had previously agreed to. There is also reported interest from Real Madrid, Spurs, Manchester City and Manchester United. As an aside, Luis Alvero Ribeiro made a series of rather bizarre claims about his dream for Ganso (a) becoming part owned by another club who he will join after the Club World Cup (in December); (b) returning to Santos in June 2012 to play in the Olympics as a player of Santos; (c) returning to the other club in January 2013; (d) being sold for $200M in the summer of 2013. The other club is Porto - none of it will come to pass of course.}

Hi Ed, i've read your post about Ganso and i gotta say that, as a brazillian and a santos supporter, i've never heard of those option you said L.A.O.R mentioned about him. In fact, i beleive his ( ganso) relationship with the club is in pieces and he will be moved if now not, in thi summer for something around 20 million euros. He hasn't played well this year and his value has dropped immenselly. Hope i could help, cheers!

Juve is trying desperately to sign Gaston Ramirez ahead of LFC. LFC is still hoping for a January move but Bologna need him in order for Bologna to stay in Serie A.

But LFC is still ahead of the scums for GR.

Andy Carroll will not be loaned out. He will stay unless a reasonable bid is placed for him or Andy handing in a transfer request.

On the other hand, Dirk Kuyt might make a move to Turkey to save his spot for Euro 2012. Probably either Besiktas or Galatasaray if he does.

And of course the biggest news of today...Edinson Cavani. He is valued around £35m and the owners are ready to splash the cash the leftovers from the summer (remember the owners saying Kenny has the money to spend but Kenny is refusing to?). Also, he is a great friend of Suarez and Coates. But IF he is moving somewhere, I think he will do move in the summer.

That is all I have for today.

Tosh

Can't believe I'm saying this but you may be right

You've got the first part from twitter and made the rest of it up..

Stu.

35 mill "leftovers" ?? are you dreaming or drunk ? Cavani is NOT comming to Liverpool - thats 100% sure

Friend , this really is a joke , please try to get out more or find a girlfriend .

I assume by signing this rumour 'Tosh' you are referring to what you have just posted.

04 Jan 2012 00:18:39
Theo Walcott will be signing for Liverpool in the summer transfer window! good source my best mates dad is the head of scouting at Southampton and still keeps in touch with him! Not sure what i think he could add to the team except pace!

Are u serious.....walcott is a downing ina faster version and downing has better crosses 1 thing there both crap at shooting!!

Walcott as hansen once said not a thinking player,i agree lots of pace no class lets just talk class

My scepticism about this rumour aside, if we are looking to add width to the right with crosses for Carrol then bad signing however if we are looking at playing him in his preffered striking position then I think he would fit in well with the football we are trying to play e.g. intricate passing on the ground and linking up with Suarez and Bellamey.

And stupidity!

Believe what you want criticise all you want but just remember in the summer when this deal goes through it came through me! Want be laughing then would not like him to sign dont get me wrong would love to see Adam Johnson but VERY VERY GOOD SOURCE!

Hi Eds. Gr8 updates as always I know you are busy being the window and all but just wanted your thoughts on Kagawa from Dortmund real class act fits the bill as only 22 could be the creative spark we need! Do you know of any interest and do you think he would come? {Ed001's Note - we have a very real and firm interest in him, he has been repeatedly scouted, but his form has been poor. A good scout will know if it is just form or not though, but he should be available.}

Thanks Ed cheers for the update/info
