ED2 reading the posts, people saying we have a good midfield is madness, it is awful, 1 of the worst in the prem, gerrard couldn't play in a midfield 2 at his peak, Alonso+hamann, Alonso+masch
gerrard best seasons were from the right wing with free role, and playing off torres, lucas is the worst player in our history to play 200+ games, he is mediocre, if we can sign 2 midfielders in jan, it would really push us on, gerrard needs to be dropped, has he even had 2 good games this season? use stevie from the bench, or if he is starting replace him after 60mins,
2 midfielders to sign m'vila+banega? Fernando is in last year of his contract Fernando+banega? these players would transform our team, because the midfield we have at the moment is awful,
no mobility
no pace
no positional awareness
don't track runners
constantly give the ball away
no goals from open play

Funnily enough I tried to post to question who would replace gerrard as I went to see us Saturday and hendo was poor and is not gerrards replacement, Lucus was also poor but I rate higher than u do. Stevie didn't play well and he can't be expected to play 90 mins every week and carry us at 33.
Will have a look at your suggestions, I like nzonzi as a cheap option plus let's look at chelski and rubbishty to see what they have going spare before we look abroad but players at the end of their contract interested in proving or improving are the ones we need.
We can defo push on if we add to the squad in Jan!

1 bad game and you going on like they are bad players? we are 3rd and your not worth to clean gerrards boots let alone say he has lost it. this are the reasons why we have deluded fans!

I completely disagree! Admittedly our midfield was poor at the weekend, but Gerrard is an incredible player. Even now at his age he is England captain and still, in my opinion, Liverpool's best player. Also I don't think Lucas is that bad. He is a solid defensive mid and we would struggle to find a better replacement ( at a realistic price ).
Ever Banega is one of my favourite players. His contract is up in 2015 and Valencia have gone to the dogs since sacking Emery so I doubt he'll stay.
Diego's contract is up in the summer as is Fernando's. If we can do a cheeky swoop for those three, ugh I don't even know!

The problem vs Arsenal had nothing to do with the midfield. It was the formation. as much as pundits claim it's a 3-5-2 it's a 5-3-2 Liverpool are playing, we were playing 2 very inexperienced wingback(premiershipwise) in flanno and cisshoko. They didn't support the midfield enough, whereas enrique and johnson would have. Arsenal bossed the midfield because they had 5 vs 3 in that position.
You're not going to beat Arsenal using wingers crossing to sturridge and Suarez. you need to play a 4-5-1.It didn't help that some player didn't play their best, I think Hendo has been brilliant this season. He's had 1 poor game. flanno and cissokho were out their depth. I don't think skrtl's paniccy defending helped either.We really missed Aggers calming influence in defense.

I bet you are also one of these so called 'fans' who thinks Henderson is a liability, and wants Allen and Aspas branded a waste of money and sold despite them not having a chance to prove themselves.
Start supporting the team and realise that we are 3rd in the league despite having '1 of the worst midfields in the prem'.
