eds do liverpool have interest in Sung-Yong Ki from celtic? {Ed002's Note - Not that I know of.}

I've heard Ever Banega is one of the top targets for the summer window...would be a great signing IMO but the asking price is in €28m region

LFChad

When he was linked to us he was £8m, i'd say around 18m the price they paid for him.

05 Apr 2012 21:52:43
Good source tells me raul albiol is on the wish list for summer targets.... Aurelio and maxi are the defiant outs also thanks

moussa sissoko agent -

it appears that Roma are now favourites for the midfielder after his representative's latest admission.

"Moussa [Sissoko] wants Roma, they are a great team, a big club," Bakary Sanogo told Tuttomercatoweb.

"Sissoko wants to play in the Italian league, Roma are a big side, a very important team. Our intention is to move to Italy, and even better to the capital.

"How much will it cost? I am unable to say, these are estimates that pertain to the two clubs. I just want to say that Moussa wants Italy and Roma."

Maybe he just wants Liverpool to pay more? Tons of agents do that sort of thing as a negotiation tactic.

Hearing Liverpool want clint dempsey Eds is this true?? {Ed001's Note - we have looked at him in the past, but I have heard of no recent interest, even though I personally think he would be a very good signing.}

Thanks ed, I also like him but is he a Liverpool player?? {Ed001's Note - no, he is a Fulham player! He is a good footballer, works hard, decent touch, always looking to get into space and he scores goals. I would say he would be an excellent signing, the only issue is whether it would be a cost effective one or if there is a younger, cheaper player who could provide what he does for less?}

How much would he cost 15million ?? I don't think we will buy him like but flanno rekins dannys mensioned him. {Ed001's Note - I have no idea how much he would cost, but 15m does sound what I would want to pay.}

I'd also like to see him at LFC having Yonk owners cant hurt our chances either.

{Ed022's note - brand new player profile on Dries Mertens of PSV, linked with Liverpool in recent times. www.player-profiles.co.uk - thanks all.}

05 Apr 2012 20:25:19
moussa sissoko has been in talks with liverpool over a summer move ! his agent gets on well with liverpool as it lucas leiva agent aswell

ohh and his agents owns - cavani fernando llorente and iker munian players that have been linked with us

so two players liverpool have 100% been in talks with are gaston ramirez and moussa sissoko

Who's his agent?

Do you have any idea what other players Liverpool will buy? Hoilett,Hernanes perhaps?

Moussa sissoko=Joe Allen.

The company is Mondial Sport Management & Consulting sarl and the name is Constantin Dumitrascu so far it is just these two who look too be liverpool bound

Thanks for the info. Any idea about their price? Do know how many players liverpool try to buy? There has been alot of buzz around Hernanes and Hoilett, doesn't mean that we'll buy them but you get the idea.

Kenny will need glasses if he wants to sign Dries. Not happening. Dries is probably not good enough for Everton let alone Liverpool.

I asked the question yesterday morning regarding player power at our club to ed 001 and he thought what I have thought for a while now and that is until sg and jc move on I don't think our club will make any serious strides forward. If we have players who continually undermine our manager how can whichever manager we have in place take us forward. Jc is slowly being fazed out anyway but sg whilst can still put in the odd world class performance is it really worth the off field uncertainty, I feel sg could still have a role if he realises that he plays for our club and the club doesnt play for him it's been a bug for me about him ever since as ed001 said he threw his toys out when being asked to play right mid under rafa. Anyway if he sorted his head out and realise he's can't do it all on his own I could see him as one of 2 deep sitting centre mids then if Possible 2 pacey

Sorry lads meant to carry on sayin 2 pacey wide men and a top class cf and then I could see us going places

Kopman

Stevie doesnt have the discipline to play deep lying mid

You r right the pal stevie g cant play deep..rafa knew this thats y he was played behind torres..with alonso and javier playing deep....god wish we still had them 2 in midfield

Any interest in Belhanda from ligue 1? Looks a decent player and only 22? Cheers Ed

Jord {Ed002's Note - My understanding is that Arsenal would be interested in Belhanda should he become available. Aside from that there is interest from PSG and unconfirmed interest from Inter and Roma.}

Suarez will not be sold in the summer. That is never going to happen. Alot of under performers will go, Suarez is certainly not in that category. As for Carroll, it all depends whether a club can be found who are prepared to pay enough to justify selling him (I was told 20 million) - which I think is doubtful as Newcastle are the only team likely to move for him but they now have better strikers.
Also there may be some surprises in the summer.

You dont think that a striker who scores single digits is under performing?

So true,i think we should build a team around suarez than wasting more money trying to get Carroll score a few goals..
still a squad overhaul is gonna happen..
cole,maxi,aurelio,aquilani,kuyt,johnson,adam may all be shipped out and carra wont get enough games + europa league means a stronger squad is necessary ..
we could have (hoilett and dusan tadic) for 5-6 million and we will have 2 quality young wingers

I can only agree. Suarez will not be sold this summer. Its seems too me that they building up the team to secure that he dont want to go away. They bourght coates, and i think that liverpool will get gaston ramirez and david texiera. So he can team up with his fellow countrymen. Maybe a luuk de jong, or Mathias Suarez too. but then carrol,kuyt, maxi and aurelio have too move on. HOPE SO... and a creative center midfield too replace aqualini.

He might have scored only 7/8 league goals, but how many has he assisted and also how many penalty has he won? if you add them together perhaps he has contributed to more than half of the goals LFC have scored this season. without him surely we wud have been in the relegation zone by now.

If PSG pay the money he will go.Juventus can eff off.

Yep, lets build a team around a player who plays 2/3rds of the season and spends the other 3rd up our club in the world of the press and finances. Doesn't score enough and links up poorly with the other 10 players 90% of a match (regardless of how good he is, 1 change or 10?) - Oh and he's made a hero manager look like a complete soandso..

What suarez said was inexcusable buti'm sorry Dalglish is responsible for his own actions.

Why sell suarez?? He just need the right partner, so he can get some of the pressure off his shoulder. Carrol dont do that. all the others teams focused only on suarez. because he is the biggest treath. And liverpool cant attract a player of his caliber without CL. And look at the pricetags on some of the the best attackers arround. 30-50m. So liverpool will not sell suarez for less than 50+ !! anything else would be a bad deal. we need right wing, Creative midfielder, and a Good partner for Suarez. All that would take some pressure of him.

05 Apr 2012 17:36:50
Hi eds just want to throw something into the hat. We need a creative midfielder, i think every liverpool fan agrees we need a Silva/Mata who can link up with suarez if only we had one.... wait we do Joe Cole, hes having a good season in france surley he would link up well with suarez and is english!!! {Ed002's Note - Joe has certainly been enjoying is time in France and has settled well. I don't know if he would want to return, nor if the club would want him back. Lille would maybe like to broker a permanent deal for him but they know there is interest from PSG. We will see in the summer or perhaps a little earlier.}

Just because cole is having a hood season it doesn't mean the club should look to have hik back... Even if he is good, how many years can he play for? Max 2, then what do we do? Best to look for someone that can build with the ones we have or get someone good enough we can build round.

A lot of deluded fans should realise we should stop looking at past players we had ie Alonso. He may be obe of the best, but if we keep looking or cry about our past players we will never be able to move forward.

Ed...so Juve according to La Gazzetta dello Sport have offered 25 million euro for Luis Suarez and are confident that they can agree a fee with LFC in the next few days. Assuming this is true, this would prove two things: that Suarez had a deal with LFC that in the event of not reaching a top four position he'll leave or that LFC are cutting their losses especially after the Suarez Evra fiasco. What is sad again assuking story is true is that after haggling with Ajax for Suarez we are now prepared to let him go without any hassle to Juve. It appears that owners are heading the Aston Villa way...nowhere. {Ed002's Note - Whether it is true or not I think your assumptions are perhaps a little wide of the mark.}

Why would they sell toi Juve when Juve messed Liverpool about with the Aquilani transfer.

Look it's on La Gazzetta Dello Sport Front Page. I didn't make up this story but Juve are genuinely interested in buying Suarez. I hope it won't happen as I am convinced that if we strenghten the midfield and buy a quality striker and winger, Suarez will be excel. Let's hope for the best.

Tell juve to f k off, trying to rip us off again

Whatever the issues surrounding Suarez and his future commercial viability in a Liverpool shirt, he is has got to be worth more that 25m Euros. I'd hold out for £40m, otherwise we have lost out again in financial terms like Mascherano who was worth way more than what Barcelona paid.

are liverpool interested in anderlecht's lucas biglia eds? And are the rumours linking kuyt to roma true? {Ed002's Note - Please read earlier answers.}

Hi Eds,
In regards to Carroll, I really think the lad will be given another season to prove himself. We sold Robbie Keane after half a season. You must remember Carroll was injured fot te most part of the end of last season. We havin really ben playing to his strengths like they did at Newcastle with crosses coming in from Joey Barton. Wetried this wiv Downing but he hasnt relly settled yet. I feel a player such as Gaston Ramirez and the Mertens lad could be of benefit to Carroll. He def has the potential. Also Henderson, he only a young lad and has been played out of position alot this season he needs to be given time, similar to Adam who had a good start to thge season up until Lucas got injured. Look at how Lucas chanmged his careeer around after all fans wanted him gone. It shows if given enough time and faith the players will step up to the high standard we expect at Liverpool. Surely our strike force will be strengthend in the summer with an out and out goal scorer been brought in. No way are we going to sign players like higuain and cavani. We shud look at targets such as Huntleear, De Jong and Cardoza and play suarez off one off them as he is more a creative then goalscorer.
Taregts i feel would be
Players out: Maxi, Kuyt, Aurelio, Doni, Spearing, Pacheco, Cole, Aquaman, Poulson. Johnson
Loan: Toni Silva, Flanno, Robbo, Suso ll to chamionship sides.
Players in:
Isla, Moussa Sissoko, De Jong/Huntleear/Cardoza.
would love to see Javi Martinez and Muniain but cant really see it. What you think eds?
TRUERED! YNWA {Ed002's Note - I would be astonished if the club spent £40M on two players to see if they can get anything out of Carroll. But who knows?}

What would be the point of selling doni he is our sub keeper and will only play if we need him for some reason if he leaves we will just have to buy another sub keeper

05 Apr 2012 14:57:38
Alright, the general consensus is that Carroll and Suarez will leave. I, like most of you will be absolutely gutted if Luis was to leave, but no player is bigger than the club.

We're in need of a striker anyway, so if both of the January signings were to leave we'll end up needing 3 strikers.

The 3 i'd love to see here is Soldado (£22mil) Huntelaar (around £20mil) Luuk De Jong (15mil).

Of course it won't be as simple as this, but i for one prefer that to the one we have now. The combined fees of Suarez & Carroll would cover the bulk of those transfer fees so it won't be like we're going to break the bank.

What are your thoughts?

WAIT UNTIL 2012's ends

Thoughts are... Whos going to buy Carroll.

You're naive into thinking no one will buy him, because they will. Teams are as fickle as 'fans' or media outlets. Carroll is a good player, has potential and is young. If you play to his strengths you'll get the most out of him, obviously.

Carrol is not worth 35m so who will give anywear near that for a player of his limited skills his ball control and movement are below average so is his pace we paid 30m over the odds cashley couldnt beleive his look without sqarez we are a mid division side sort it kenny or bring back benitez

Eds do Liverpool have interest in Lucas Biglia from Anderlecht? {Ed002's Note - They have done in the past but I am not sure that a DM is being looked for right now.}

Why aren't we looking for a DM? we have needed one all season since Lucas got injured. Spearing isn't up to it at all..

05 Apr 2012 14:41:27
Eds its rumoured Roma are interested in Kuyt, what do you think about a straight swap for Bojan? {Ed002's Note - Not even the slightest of chances. Sorry. Bojan would cost in excess of 40M euro due to some complex clauses.}

What a ridiculous rumour

hi eds,
Just wondered whether we have any interest in:
Wijnaldum (PSV)
Bas Dost (Herenveen)
Bruno Cesar (Benfica)
All young and quality players. Great site btw {Ed002's Note - Arsenal, Liverpool, Zenit St Petersburg, Schalke and Real Madrid have all showed an interest in Wijnaldum in the past year but all is quiet right now aside from recent talk of interest from Sevilla (that was no doubt rejected out of hand) and confirmed interest from Newcastle. PSV will not be keen to sell and he could be very expensive. Bas Dost is of interest to Valencia and Aston Villa. I don't know of any interest from Liverool in Cesar right now.}

Hello edds, I have been reading your responses to questions about Suarez being sold. I understand and fully appreciate all the points made and respect that ur information must be fairly solid or you wouldn't even suggest his leaving is a possibility.
My point tho is regarding the fans reaction to this possibility. The feeling of sponsors, owners etc may be important but if they sell our best player and fan favourite (again) after an already dismal season, and then try to tell fans "his behaviour" was the reason, there will be uproar!
All I'm basically saying is very few fans would be happy if they sell him and IF he goes they'd better blow us away with his replacement!

Benzo {Ed002's Note - Are these the same fans who want Dalglish and most of the other players out?}

Liverpool have done it before, we've gotten rid of a list of players better then suarez.

Yeah he's a fan favourite but he's bringing too much negative press next season team needs to keep heads down and just play footie and if that means he goes along with others for the greater good then so be it i for one would not be in uproar YNWA

I agree with you Benzo. It would be highly unpopular were Luis Suarez to be sold. Liverpool fans, or many of them least, support players who combine talent with passion and determination. As for the editorial comment, I do understand that having to deal with streams of negative posts must be frustrating in the extreme, but the posts in question are not representative of the attitude of those of us who attend Liverpool's matches. There have been no anti-Dalglish chants and there have been no anti-Dalglish banners, and this will remain the case. We are in support of our manager, and we are never shy of expressing that support during the club's matches. The name 'Dalglish' is always chanted, just as that of Luis Suarez is. I feel it is important to recognize that there is a difference between the genuine feelings of the main core of Liverpool fans, and the immediate responses posted on this site after each disappointing result. I do not envy the editors who have to deal with those one bit, but I can assure you that I am far from walking alone when it comes to hoping that I will be able to carry on chanting for Luis and Kenny next season.

Red Owl

It doesn't mater which fans it is, it is unfortunately the majority of fans!
The thing people will see is that (arguably) our only saleable superstar will be sold after a bad season in the league, it looks like we are giving in and how do you attract top players when our players are either ageing or being sold?
I for one have faith in what KK is and will be doing at lfc but just hopethe caliber of player he gets us is better than what we have or we will be watching the mancs rack the seasons up!

Benzo

Totally agree with you Redowl! I for one have never called for Kennys head! I do think that this team will come good with a couple of additions in the summer! We don't want become like the Chavs, changing their manager as often as Roman changes his unddys! In Kenny we trust!

Some of the posters here are talking rubbish .i wont comment about ed as he is a different club fan !

why would Liverpool sell suarez ?

a) to prove ferguson's word correct when he claimed and wanted suarez to be sold by liverpool ?

b) to make him scapegoat when there are lot bigger criminals in the side ?

c) to give evra a boost and showing that at that time all the liverpool fans,dalglish and the total liverpool players were person ?

d) to broke the back bone of liverpool attack?

e) to sold someone who can create chances for others, who can twist past players like magic , who can score some beauties and unbelievable goals , who can link up with top players like maxi,gerrard,bellamy,who is the most technical players liverpool have ?

f) suarez is never a lone striker . he is always a player behind a calm finisher and is a constant threat.when liverpool bought him they should know the tactics !! in his groningen days he links well with a serbian striker(forgot his name !),in ajax he links with huntellar+monir el hamdoui,in uruguay he links with forlan+cavani.
he is like a catalyst . he is totally a link player and he proved how effective he can be ! one of the best player in 2010-2011 season in europe,one of the great player in south africa and best player in copa ! best liverpool player in previous season ! enough said !

why making him scape goat dudes ?

collins

Missed a point ! more over he works his socks off on the field .unnamed posters want him to be sold ? rubbish !

collins

Totally agree with collins!

About 80% of the fans yes

No real fan would want to sell Luis. Its either Mancs, WUMs or NESV's staff saying he should be sold.

I mean we're not exactly brimming with talent are we? I never trusted that NESV lot, and things are looking clearer and clearer..

Why sell Suarez?, he has the skills to become a Liverpool legend and just needs a striking partner who can compliment him and feed off him, I'm afraid that is not Carroll but hopefully the summer will bring in players who will work with Louis

It would be a bad, rash decision to sell Suarez

To sell Suarez would be a massive backwards step - he is our best player. We are not in the Champions League. What chance do we have of recruiting a player of Suarez's ilk?

Would be an awful decision if we did sell him and a real signal of the decline our club is undergoing. Selling your best players is not what top clubs do. If we wish to be a top club we must stop selling our best players, it's that simple.

Eds, considering Glen Johnson is expected to leave. who do you think will be interested in him?

i suspect Spurs would have been but now Kyle Walker is perhaps a better player they're probably out of the equation.

{Ed002's Note - He may well leave. I think there could be interest from several English sides including Aston Villa.}

Could they afford his wages? how much would we likely get for him? 10M or thereabouts? {Ed002's Note - I expect that there will be plenty of trading at Aston Villa this summer.}

God it gets worse. We're a selling club to Madrid, Barce, Chelsea and now.... Villa.

I hope everyone starts to realise that we're just a selling club now.. thanks to the ( new!) Yanks!

You need to look at the bigger picture. Kelly offers more than Johnson and earns alot less.

we could get 10M for Johnson and about 90K off our wage bill to free up for others.

although he is good going forward. He's shaky defensively.

Kelly is a more rounded player.

I understand Johnson is leaving because of something wrong in his contract or something? Sorry for bringing this up again, I know it's already been discussed but I'm confused as to why that means a player should leave.

It'll be a shame to see him go in my opinion, very under rated and plays very well for us. I think Glen is one of the best RB's in the Prem, with Richards and Sagna at the top in my opinion. I really do think he's a player we should hang on to!

Thanks in advance for any replies, Ell. {Ed002's Note - If Johnson leaves it will not be because of something being wrong in his contract.}

Totally agree with Ell Johnson is head and shoulders above Kelly at this moment in time, he offers us a Much needed attacking option and if alongside agger and skrtel defending isn't as bad as people make out. Would hate to see him leave

Somerset red

It says on sky sports that real madrid are very intrested in glen and are lookin to make a 16.5 m for him.. your all mad if you think geln or the club would be intrested in selling to villa your mad pluss villa could not afford him because we paid 17m an wont sell for less an his wages would be more then any other player at villa... wont happen adamlfc

Really pathetic! Are we the Liverpool of old, or just a feeder club?
Real would want Glenjo because hes a damned good player.
Kelly is a youngster, still growing and getting growing injuries. Will be a good Cback soon.
Sell Glenjo and its clear we're being scammed again!

Kelly is good but I wouldn't say he's that good, his natural position is centre back an worriedly he's had quite a few injury problems considering his age

Villa couldn't afford his wages

Hi Ed's, hope you are well! Another Q about Suarez. I've seen one of you post saying you 'think/expect' he will leave in the Summer, but under what reasoning do you believe? Because he has caused controversy or because we're not currently successful enough for him? If he leaves because we're not successful at the moment, surely he knew this when he signed for us, because we're a work in progress.. everyone knows that atm? And if it is because he's caused controversy, I personally think Liverpool/Suarez has been targeted and singled out because the same issue has happened with another player this Season and other issues related yet the press aren't all over it like they were with us, therefore I think he should be given a second chance.

I'm open to any discussion if anyone disagrees with me!

Thanks for your time, Ell. {Ed002's Note - I have have explained at length before that I suspect Suarez will leave because of his behavior; for his failing not to drop the matter when the situation was recoverable; for defending an interview given in Spanish by saying no one in England would understand it as it was in Spanish; for putting the owners and the board in a very difficult position in respect of sponsors; for putting sponsors in a difficult position. And there is interest from four clubs so finding a buyer will not be difficulty.}

Ed do you think we would be able to find an adequate replacement though without champions league footy? cheers ed!

JF LFC {Ed002's Note - There are many, many players who would love to have the opportunity to play for Liverpool.}

I just get the feeling that the owners wud like to sell suarez to recover the cost we incurred by bringing in average players and remaining another season without CL. Unfortunately suarez never the had the opportunity to play with quality players and we LFC fans will have to accept mediocrity in the years to come.

Cheers for your reply Ed! I understand what you say and I'm not doubting you at all, but I really hope we don't get 'rid of him. He really is a world class player in my opinion and if he stays with us while we bring in better players, I can see him moving off to Madrid or Barca and relishing playing with other world class players. He plays really well for Uruguay along with Cavani and Forlan, so I hope he can do the same for us in the future.

LFC's aim was/is young (english) players with high potential, well surely Suarez ticks all the boxes other than being English!? He has massive potential, and even though I know I might be jumping on the typical bandwagon of blindly loving an LFC player who's had some good games, I really do think he'll become amazing.

Keep him LFC!

Thanks, Ell.

i wud rather not cause any political trouble! {Ed002's Note - Quite right.}

Sorry but if FSG are giving this as a reason for Suarez's departure in the summer then the same is more easily applied to Kenny and ergo his departure...
Kennys handling of the media fall out was atrocious where as Suarez's comment was a spur of the moment wind up in the middle of play.Kenny would be more guilty than Suarez in my opinion for negatively impacting on the clubs good name.

Looking bad aint it!
Masch, Yossi, Xabi and Arbeloa and Keane under the Yonks v1
Nando, Mereiles, Aquilani already under Yonks v2
And if they have their way - Glenjo, Luis, and Pepe...

Liverpool FC was NEVER a selling club. Sell our stars and we wont buy tickets and merchandise. Hope NESV will realise we arent idiots..! {Ed002's Note - You need to get some sort of campaign going against the owners so they can see your threats and I am sure they will act accordingly. Facebook and Twitter are great ways to start.}

It dosent make sense to sell him for a bit more than we paid for him who we gonna get to replace him maybe he wants to go u cant blame him after all thats happened before he came to liverpool he wasnt that heard of but now through the publicity good and bad he has gone global so he can pick n choose who he wannts to play for and a mid tabled premiership club is not one of em its all about the money

HI,{Ed002} Are You A LiverpooL Supporter {Ed002's Note - No I am not.}

Personally I think you should show a little respect for the people that single handedly saved our club from bankruptcy.

Also can we please refrain from using childish psuedo nationalist slurs like Yonks and Yanks?

Nevada

'single handedly "SAVED" our club from bankruptcy' - yeah, tis a BUSINESS now isnt it, not just a 'sport'... they knew a good deal when they saw 1 & bought in, bottom line is all that matters here, you think they CARE 'bout us... & here we are 'worryin' what sponsors think, i'm sure ALL their employees morals are A1, pity it all went south when SKY came into it, football as we know it was dead from then on.... as for the other thing... im a 'Paddy'... dont worry me re political correctness... jez... wish some people would lighten up... that's what's wrong with this whole 'PC' world these days... governments et all gone mad... give footie back to the supporters!

Hi eds, just more out of interest really but have any EPL clubs looked at croatian right back sime vrsaljko?

Sam Adzii Jft96 {Ed002's Note - Manchester City a while back is all I have on him.}

05 Apr 2012 10:22:10
Hey,I noticed Ed02 said he expects Carroll to leave. Just a bit surprised by this,obviously he hasn't done his part but I would have guessed that to part with him now would mean we took a 20 million loss on him. Surely it would make more sense to keep him for at least a year? Kennys publicly defended him all year. Anything behind your thinking Ed02 or is it because of the dissent,playing poorly and question marks on Dalglish's future? Thanks for taking the time to answer mine and everybody elses questions Eds! WelshBoyDave {Ed002's Note - As far as I am concerned it has not worked out with Carroll and the club needs to move on. But if Liverpool decides he is the way forward and sticks with him they have to be sure he will turn it around.}

It is not just Carroll who is struggling to fit in the team. The whole team need to look at themselves. It was Kenny who bought these players and if he can't bring out the best from these players and make them play like the team in the 80's,then he should leave. Mourinho is the type of manager who can bring out the best of the players he inherit. He has done it at Porto, Chelsea,Inter and now Real Madrid. But sadly i don't think we can get him. Rafa is the next best option who is available and the passion to guide Liverpool. Right now we are in the worst streak in 50 years!! Losing to Wigan at home and QPR after leading by 2 goals speak volumes where we are heading.

£20million loss? £34.5million more like. Get real

Sometimes you have to bite the bullet and take the financial loss, Carroll was a panic buy and will never be the sort of player that thrives at Liverpool, we need more players who can pass and score not a target man, that is not the way Liverpool play

So Ed002, are you of the same opinion when it comes to Torres... that it hasn't worked out and the club (Chelsea) need to move on?

{Ed002's Note - Yes. There is every chance he will leave.}

How real is Liverpools interest in Pablo Armero? I think he seems a good buy, he has 10assist and 1goal in serie A? Any chance?

He's a left back.. why would we spend our money on a left back?

No he can play as a left midfielder and he wouldnt cost much. When udinese plays 3-5-2 he plays wingback but left midfielder when its 4-4-1-1, so he knows how to attack and have showed that, if you ever have watch serie a

Because Aurellio is leaving and Robbo will go on loan, so we need LB cover , and he can do a job at LW due to his pace

Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing pierre -emerick aubameyang. haven't heard his name at all can ed's tell me who he is and how he plays.just though that i post dis rumour from other site.-mihir {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any interest from Liverpool but there is interest from elsewhere. I assume this was originally reported on Twitter from a fantasy football player. He plays for St Et which makes a move to Liverpool most unlikely in any case.}

We paid 57 million for Suarez and Carroll. I expect the owners to receive at least 50 million for the pair so not that much of a loss.

30 mill for Saurez possible, 20 mill for Carrol ?

Culd get more for suarez if and overseas club want him like juve or inter bout 35 mill and about 15 for carol wuld be good

We'd be lucky to get 30 million for suarez amd 15 for carrol. never will we get 50 for the pair of them

30 million for Suarez, 10 million for Carroll and thats very generous on both counts. Although no-one wants Suarez to leave and he seems settled in England.

We would be lucky to get 30M for both.

for all of Suarez' quality his goalscoring return isnt worthy of a 35M fee... the only hope of getting anything over 10M for carroll is if Harry Redknapp remains at spurs...

genuinely baffled every single time i think about the fact we paid 35M for him...

incredible.

Anyone who thinks carrol as any value isdilusional

Ed's any news on the following reports?

1.) Liverpool value Suarez at £40 million and that he has said that he does want to leave at the end of the Season to embark on football in Italy.

2.) Carroll will apparently stay as no one is willing to pay the £25 million Liverpool are wanting for him, with Tottenham only willing to go to £15 million and refuse to let Kyle Walker or Lennon go the other way in ex-change.

3.) FSG are reluctant to put more money into the team after Henderson, Downing and Carroll have failed to impress on the back of arriving for big money, and have got plans for a change of management at the end of the season.

Cheers. {Ed002's Note - No.}

We should have got 70-80 mil from that transfer if they would have bought that donkey. If we leave behind that we only need British player we will be very very successful. If we would have bought llorente for 35 mil then it would have been a success. Now its only loss. selling Suarez for even 40, think who will replace him? and how much will we pay for him?. Mate sell carroll for any thing buy a young hungry player with the will to get in the box and stick a foot out and we will score goals. All our transfer except suarez have been a failure and please dont give that crap that they are young and will improve .If you want young players who will improve with age buy Shelvey for 2mil or Danny Wilson for 2 mil or Coates for 7 mil not Henderson for 16 or downing for 20 mil. mate mata cost chelsea the same as downing , now that's a success

7 million pounds is a big loss and it's also taking the club backwards. You could buy a good player for 7m.

ahoy!

so eds expecting a clear out, i agree with it but i don't know how we can replace suarez, listen he is the only real potential weapon in our squad. yes he has not played to his potential but neither have the team or a more rather expensive 35m striker we bought. we can only get max 30-38m for suarez, he is on 75k wages, remember he is not only a goal scorer he is very much a creator too. he leaves who will replace him, lavezzi, tevez or aguero.

we have no chance of getting any of them nor another player of suarez's quality without ucl. so it would be mad, hell wrong to make the initiative to sell suarez unless he asks for it.

yes, we need another overhaul and this time beware of past mistakes. and who should we sell from the current under performing players, all of adam, henderson, carroll & downing has contributed same no one has done more than other.

from those 4, carroll & adam for me. add to that kuyt, maxi, aurelio, doni, johnson.

and one player who must leave jay spearing. yes it's a bit harsh on him, but he is max mid table quality played his best matches in the presence of a certain gerrard & lucas. with adam or henderson or against bigger opposition he was medicore if not shi** or crap. yes he works hard but not good enough for me.

so out going carroll (max 15-18m), adam (4-5m), kuyt (5-6m), maxi (free or 1m), aurelio (free), johnson (12-15m), doni (free), spearing (0.5-1m),
+aquilani (5m) =========== 35-40m

out on loan: shevley to a bpl club, wilson to a bpl club, sterling (when he turns 18) to a championship club, tony silva to a championship club, suso to a championship club.

flanno, robbo and michael ngoo promoted to 1st team as cover for rb and lb and cover for a striker

possible ins: what we need:

- a goal poacher [dejong/giroud/soldado]

- a strong dynamic center midfielder [ever banega/
yan m'villa/mousa sissoko/javi garcia/javi martinez

- a natural right winger [matt philips/valbuena/luciano narsingh]

- another versatile attacking midfielder [gaston ramirez/afellay/kagawa]

- a back-up goal keeper [a good experienced keeper who can push pepe a little bit]

total ===== 55-65m

outs 35-40m
ins 55-65m

net expenditure 25m or 35m.

after analyzing what most of the people think of kenny around 2/3 rd of people want kenny to stay and fight. and the other 1/3 rd want him to leave or to get sacked. either way every one want what is best for the club. i haven't still decided. with some shrewd and clever business in coming summer, and some gutting decisions and looking at past experience on buying players, kenny needs to re assemble his shattered & lost army if he needs and wants another season in charge.

bosco

The likelyhood of kenny admitting that his signings didnt work are slim,ergo he wont be selling carrol,henderson,downing etc. i agree with you with the other players leaving though kuyt maxi and johnson. personally if we could attract players like matius suarez affelly marin sissoko de jong a new RB(adam matthews??) sub GK and a CB/LB we may be in contention for a top 4 place. Expect big things this summer.
Also isnt it obvious that carra is being groomed for the role of the next manager give it 3 yrs and the bootroom will be back.
Smithy

Where i disagree here is the spearing debate. I think having squad players who will happily play 20 games a season and will run through a brick wall for the club is what we have always missed. It pains me to say it but one of uniteds strengths was they could draw on o'shea, brown etc. and they would slot into the system and play their heart out as they loved the club or had been their for so long so they understood exactly what was expected and needed from them. Yes they werent the best players but for a squad player like that you wont keep a fantastic player happy nor afford the wages that they would require. Spearing is a good player who improves everytime he gets a set of games, other players think highly of him which is important, they have faith in him when he comes in, he doesnt cost a fortune and he is a local lad so puts in that extra bit of effort for the club. Plus, in the current set up he is the only player who can replace lucas (not the same quality but can do a job). If we had someone of higher quality they would expect to play. In the past we have been way to quick to get rid of these types of player, the likes of stephen wright going and then abel xavier in, no improvement in my eyes, otsemabor as well. Look at guthrie. Not a great player and not surprise he left but he would be a decent squad player. Our emphasis is on improving the overal quality of the squad but i would get rid of adam over spearing for the reasons i have outlined.

I would be happy if Carroll, Adam, Downing, Maxi and Kuyt left. I only say kuyt as he is getting too old now. The others have done nothing at LFC.

We will probably let Glenn Johnson go as well. He is always linked with Spurs so maybe that will happen, we have Martin Kelly as a ready made replacment so that's not a problem for me.

At the back we are fine at the moment, no major worries there.

In midfield, once Lucas returns we need to inject some pace and get 2 decent wingers. Johnson from City has been linked with us loads of times, but you never know. We should also be looking to replace Steven Gerrard as well. He is at the end of his playing career and we need to bring someone in who can learn off him.

Upfront, we need someone to partner Suarez. Bellamy is at the end of his career but he has been 10 times better than Carroll. We need someone to come in and get the magic 20 a season. Who that will be no one knows for sure yet. But that should be our #1 priority. As soon as Carroll is shown the door we should be announcing his replacement, who will hopefully show a bit of passion on the pitch instead of not looking bothered.

I personally wouldn't let Suarez go as he is a class act but maybe people higher up than Kenny will decide his fate. All the fall out over Evra and certain words being said might have sealed his fate already.

I can see it being a busy summer for us, hopefully we will get the right team ready for next season. Who we bring in depends on who we get rid of. We need to get rid of high earning dead wood players to get the wage bill down.

Gaz1975.

I'd be looking to sell Gerrard before Spearing.
We have only won approx 2 games since Gerrard came back from injury. What does that tell you? We were better without Gerrard and with Spearing. That I'm afraid is fact. I agree it's not what Liverpool fans want to hear but unfortunately it's true.

Honestly guys before you push the send txt take a moment and read what your posting! johnson to spurs? Come on are you that thick to post such c.rap! They have england international right back and an england under 20 right back who is supposed to be better than walker? so why johnson? also its been posted spurs want carroll lol who ever posted the rumour is as thick as the bloke who made it up! I have some brilliant contacts at spurs and each one told me not to be stupid when I asked about carroll, I will put my contacts up against anyones that that will just remain what it is! a pathetic rumour.. {Ed001's Note - your 'brilliant' contacts are a bit clueless then.}

Carroll is supposedly wanted at Spurs. Adebayor's wage demands will not be met by Spurs however Carroll's can be. Johnson wil not fetch 12-15 million, we'll get about 10M for him at most and he's likely to be off back to London...Arsenal are interested.

Adam has two goal & eight assist. Don't understand the stick at all. First season settling into a new club. Check te other players stat Downing is crap

Why would we sell Johnson for 8 million? our clubs transfer policy is absurb. Sell a 20 million plus pound player like Aqualani for 4 million, selling Mascherano for the same as we bought him from west ham...when he never even played. Meireles should never of went for 11 million, get Rafa back, he knew how to sell players and what money he could get for them. Spearing, Flanaghan, Adam, Carroll, Henderson, Wilson are not good enough for LFC. They should be sold, we should keep Kuyt.

10M for England's 1st choice RB.. lol... he is likely to join Man City rather than Arsenal or Spurs. A replacement for outgoing Zabaleta.

And for Adam, two goals & eight assists don't tell the whole story, while Stewart Downing 0 goals & 0 assists don't tell the real story too..

RB isla from udinese, CM stoorman or sissoko, CAM ramirez, winger marin, ST de jong or suarez.

Mate this is the best post I have read in Months I totally agree with you in all you transfers , only thing is I want is not to loan sterling we should introduce him to the first team slowly. If the transfers you listed go trough we have a very good team and then sterling will not be under pressure if he comes on. The team is winning and it gives confidence to youngsters to play their natural game. As for kenny I love him but he need to get a different position in the club. Commoli should be sacked and a new young foreign manager to be installed with a British assistant .SC is good as a assistant and I wish we get Rafa back or ABV or klopp

To be honest the problem is not the players it's the balance of the team ie skrtl a right footed player playin left centre half when it was Johnson skrtl agger Enrique kuyt Lucas Adam downing Suarez and Carroll the team was balanced and looked impressive at that point it was a bit of confidence in front of goal and we would have bin flying but now it's players out of position all over the pitch and it's upset the team and sadly results have showed that

Heard a while ago that Real were interested in Johnson, mirror are now reporting it ( i know they make most stuff up) but is there any truth in this and which othrr clubs are interested in him? Thanks Mac {Ed002's Note - It was certainly news 18 months ago but now I suspect it is simply being recycled. I would not expect a move to Madrid for Johnson. I don't know that anyone has enquired about him.}

Nonsense. Why would they buy Johnson when they have Sergio Ramos? I'd happily do a swap deal though!

Jurgen klopp will be LFC manager by middle of June with Kenny moving on. He will be given a massive transfer budget. Naming rights complete with
Chinese building firm although expect one more offer from Berkshire Hathaway owned by Warren Buffet. Carroll, kuyt, maxi, johnson, Aurelio will all move on.

Insider

Jurken Klopp has said he will stay where he is for the next 5 years minimum. They have a better team and play in the CL

Would love 2 see adam leave he is a fat mess and has one of the worst passing completion rates in the PL we payed 8/9m for someone to take the odd corner.

Berkshire Hathaway have no history of this type of thing. They don't even have that many staff. This looks like some really silly internet rumour. Or someone at NESV thinking its clever to test how ill informed we are.

eds, need ur answer.
Are lfc interested in Milan Badelj? His style of play not bad.

Dtg'lfc {Ed002's Note - Yes they have been looking at him; and this has been mentioned on several occasions. However other clubs (Lazio, Spurs and Palermo) are also looking at the player.

Good morning Eds,

Who would you say are prime suspects for leaving Liverpool this summer?

Thanks

Thatracoonstolemybacon {Ed002's Note - Aurelio, Amoo, Pacheco, Kuyt, Maxi, Suarez, Carroll and Cole. Aquilani will go before the summer - in a couple of weeks or so.}

Ed You really think Suarez will go surely not {Ed002's Note - It is my opinion that there is a very good chance that he will leave this summer.}

If kuyt Carroll and Suarez go we have to bring in 3 more attackers.. looking at 50m for strikers alone in the summer then..

Ed please tell me adam can leave as well cause he is rubbish

Eds does this mean you no longer believe johnson will be leaving ? {Ed002's Note - No it doesn't, it was a list off teh top of my head. Johnson may still leave.}

Thanks for the reply Ed002,

So If Carroll goes do you think spurs will be a likely destination? What value do you think is on the head od Suarez?

Thanks

Thatracoonstolemybacon {Ed002's Note - I would not want to guess where he will end up but Spurs is certainly a possibility. Perhaps Liverpool could offer Carroll and £15M for Torres? Would you take that?}

Ed if u were given freedom..would you sell henderson?? common ed...if no..pls let me knw y? and what u see in him?? {Ed002's Note - I have no interest in fantasy manager or whatever game you are playing. Sorry. If you use the search function you should see lots of opinions from other fans about Henderson. I think most would be happy with a decent replacement.}

Nope Ed002,

I for one done want Torress back hae walked out on us and that's that in my eye's. I would go for Soldado from Valencia.

Thatracoonstolemybacon {Ed002's Note - I think Solado would be a good solution.}

Suarez wont be leaving fool....do you not read about him saying he will be staying for long time...carroll, maxi, kuyt, aurelio will be the ones to leave out the first team

05 Apr 2012 01:55:36
hi eds, u said that there is a chance carroll will go, how much will we get u guess? {Ed002's Note - Sorry, I have no idea.}

Carroll will not be going anywhere. He'll be here for at least next season, so let's keep getting behind the guy and give him the support while he is here. He is busting his balls for us at the minute but as we are not giving him any service, it's making him look worse than he is. Best player for us in 2012 so far.

You'd be lucky to get a couple of mars bars for him

05 Apr 2012 04:10:58
I don't want to jump onto the hypothetical Suarez leaving bang wagon, but IF he were to leave, and there's a possibility as some of the eds suggest, would it be his decision or the club's?
