Whats happened with el shaarawi
Is there any interest in him from clubs?

Believable9 Unbelievable17

There is interest but Milan are not looking to sell and have released /sold some players to create more space in the budget to accommodate certain players, one of which is el sharaawy. Also the player himself does not want to leave Milan

Echo reporting Sanchez deal is pretty much off!

Bit disappointed, we really need another top striker, Sturridge missed 13 games last season due to injury, borini not good enough to replace him.

On to bigger and better signings!

not surprised tbh too good to be true its a pitty that he would prefer arsenal than us

Agree7 Disagree2

If true, what's the reason why he turned us down?
Is it football reasons, wages or location location location

Whilst I still don't think we'll get him, that Echo article says 'according to reports in Spain' so nothing new. Also, it's not by James Pearce, who is the usual correspondent for LFC news. See below:

http://www.Liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/Liverpool-fc-target-alexis-sanchez-7377764

To me, it seems ALL of the talk about Sanchez preferring Arsenal is coming from one report in Spain and is being reproduced everywhere - so much so that it's being taken as fact.

We know City and Juve are also interested (from Ed001), and as far as I'm aware we haven't spoken to Sanchez (unless I've missed something). I doubt our chance of getting him is over yet (or I'm hoping not!).

Ed001/002, I was wondering if you could tell us where you think Sanchez will end up? Great site, thanks for all the hard work!

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I think City have to be favourites, with the facilities and plans for the future they have, it would be hard to turn them down.}

Ed001, I have read about City's plan and it is really impressive. How would you beat such a team in the long run?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - the only way to compete long term is to go down a similar road with Liverpool.}

Onto bigger and better signings? Like who? He is THE biggest and best signing for us.
Who else would be bigger and better is my question back? And don't throw out names like Falcao or James Rodriguez because they're just unrealistic!

Agree2 Disagree0

I thought the Echo said we have as good as signed him a couple of days ago?

The Echo is not reliable anymore IMO.

Agree0 Disagree1

What is City's plan ed?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - it would take far too much to explain it all, best googling it, but basically they are regenerating a whole area of Manchester, rather than just a stadium.}

Manchester City has real plans for the future. They have the ambition, a good look into the future, and most importantly they have money.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed, Do you see Liverpool going down a similar road to city in the near future?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - unfortunately we are not in a position to buy up huge swathes of Liverpool to follow suit.}

I could see this happening if we redeveloped the academy.
Kirkby is hugely rundown (being from Kirkby myself I can remember when it wasn't all that bad some 10-15 years ago)

it wouldn't cost as much to do it as the centre of Liverpool and they've just closed down a factory that took up acres and acres and is now just a waste ground. Think I'll make a bid for Liverpool's project manager :D

Eds are we really interested in huntelaar, please say no

Believable32 Unbelievable5

{Ed001's Note - not that I am aware of, he was looked at and decided against in favour of Lambert, from what I am told.}

That would make sense thanks

Agree3 Disagree1

We are chasing top 4 and want to do well in CL. Would you rather be relying on Huntelaar or Borini? He's also a completely different player to Lambert. I personally think Huntelaar would be a good signing - over Borini.

Agree0 Disagree0

No pace.

Eds, do you know who is more likely to get Sanchez out of us and arsenal? Thank you

Believable13 Unbelievable4

{Ed001's Note - who says it has to be one of those two? There are other interested clubs.}

Seems to be a lot more noise about him favoring Arsenal and that there's a very slim chance his reps will talk to Rodgers about a move to LFC.

Shame because he is the perfect replacement for Suarez.

Agree0 Disagree2

{Ed001's Note - noise, yes, but the only club he has agreed terms with is Juve, who couldn't agree a fee with Barca. There have since been talks with Arsenal and now City since then, so he clearly hasn't decided on Arsenal.}

Surely edsnif we played hardball with barca they would have to give us sanchez if we wanted him bad enough

Agree3 Disagree2

{Ed001's Note - what if he didn't want to join? You can't force these things to happen.}

05 Jul 2014 22:47:52
Is he expected to talk to us Ed?

Agree0 Disagree2

{Ed001's Note - I don't know mate. I would guess it depends on what happens with City.}

05 Jul 2014 23:00:02
I have a feeling he will end up at Juventus, but they will have to pay up.

Hey eds, was wondering if there was anything new on Benzema now that France are out. Could he be sold to fund a Falcao purchase?

Believable1 Unbelievable9

{Ed001's Note - unlikely. He is not willing to leave.}

05 Jul 2014 18:30:54
Now then editors!
Has the konoplyanka interest ended for good? Or is he still a option? I think he would be a good alternative if sanchez and shaquiri are no go's! And are we intersted in alderweld of belgium?
Thanks. *Y*N*W*A* Jft96

Believable4 Unbelievable6

{Ed001's Note - it seems to be done and gone, sorry. Not that I am aware of.}

05 Jul 2014 17:49:10
Any truth in the yedlin rumours?

Believable24 Unbelievable15

I second that eds watched the kid in the knockout stage and to be fair didn't seem to faze him and has got great pace and a decent cross

Reports that brenden Rodgers is to meet Sanchez in the next couples days.

Believable84 Unbelievable31

Where are these reports, because the one I read earlier today saying Sanchez has ruled us out .

Agree6 Disagree1

C'mon Brendan, talk him around!

Agree4 Disagree1

Bbc have just said arsenal are in talks with sanchez

Agree2 Disagree5

05 Jul 2014 19:22:27
I like BR but I doubt Sanchez could be swayed by him. Wenger has a tad more pull than someone pretty new on the scene of world footy.

Agree2 Disagree5

I think BR would be the better option. Apart from some players who would rather be based in London, I can't see why Arsenal and Wenger would be the bigger pull. He is past it and has hit the ceiling for me. BR and Liverpool play the football to suit his game

Agree2 Disagree0

06 Jul 2014 07:53:46
Rodgers speaks Spanish , Wenger speaks rubbish!

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - he is a very intelligent and articulate man is Wenger. He certainly does not speak rubbish.}

05 Jul 2014 13:37:31
Who is interested in juan Iturbe, eds? Anything from lfc?

Believable3 Unbelievable14

{Ed001's Note - hasn't he already agreed a move somewhere?}

Agreed to where editor?

Agree2 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - Verona bought him this summer for the purposes of profiteering - and we cannot discuss a little side deal that has been agreed. This has driven Napoli and Fiorentina out of any chance of buying the player. Roma, Milan, Juventus, Real Madrid and Chelsea have made it clear they are interested - and efforts have been made to try and get Manchester City, Barcelona and other clubs interested so they can sell to the highest bidder. Generally clubs are not interested in auctions.}

I heard he has agreed to join juventus.

How u doing ed's? Quick question for u. Are we any closer to Shaqiri deal yet or not? Thanks and take care.

Believable18 Unbelievable3

{Ed001's Note - no change there. I am told there is a focus on sorting out the Suarez deal before anything else.}

05 Jul 2014 12:17:42
Whla I just popped in to say hi and the site looks to be jn meltdown mode
perhaps it needs some eddine intervention from ed 001/002to tell us some good news
so eds any news in any replacements?

Believable7 Unbelievable7

{Ed001's Note - nothing right now, I wouldn't expect much until the Suarez deal is completed.}

05 Jul 2014 13:14:07
Ed001

Markoic/Sanchez
Moreno/Bertrand
Lovren

That about the gist of our business?

Thanks lid

Believable5 Unbelievable9

{Ed001's Note - that would certainly be the plan, yes. I wouldn't hold my breath though, you only have to look at January to see how difficult it is for us to stick to a plan!}

I think we will be lucky if we get two of them - Lovren and Betrand

Now I use the term lucky, and perhaps I'm being judgemental, but in truth I don't know if Betrand will be any better then we already have.

Lovren, from the limited games I've seen him play looks a good solid defender .

Rodgers said we would be looking for "quality" not "quantity" . and i'm sure he believes that but looking and inquiring about the players are far easier then actually signing them.

Reports we have offered Sanchez a 150k a week contract to try and persuade him to join Liverpool. 8m a year.

Believable55 Unbelievable20

05 Jul 2014 14:30:54
Expect there to be a lul in transfer news over the next week. Extracting the best deal out of bara is something IA is determined to do. Getting an extra 5 or 6 million for him gives us for example an extra 2 to throw in for Lovren or offer a better wage packet to Sanchez/Shaqiri. Integral that we get Suarez transfer done right before we move on to anything else.

On the one hand, focusing on each transfer one at a time guarantees a better negotiation process and therefore usually a better deal. On the other hand, it could mean we lose out on targets if we dwell for too long.

Agree1 Disagree1

Don't think there'll be a lull mate. We'll be cracking on with business next week alright. 3 or 4 deals are well down the line and Suarez is all agreed in principle. Sanchez won't happen so we'll be back to the original targets. Bayern are fighting hard so we'd be better off making Shaqiri feel really wanted.

Agree0 Disagree0

Reports from where?

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Jul 2014 12:59:51
Origi deal all but done- waiting till after WC to agree personal terms and finalise the deal but the player is happy with the transfer and Lille have accepted the offer. Hence the die down in the news, nothing new to report!

Hi Eds,

Apologies if this has already been asked. I saw Ed001 mentioned that one of our priorities was to get a winger. Do you see two wingers coming in if Suarez leaves or do you think Sterling is of a high enough level to be a consistent first team player? Also is there anything new on Markovic, was the asking price to high?

Believable6 Unbelievable1

{Ed001's Note - I still only expect one. Nothing new on Markovic that I am aware of.}

05 Jul 2014 10:58:35
What's the situation with origi? Seems to have died down a bit

Hey Eds,

I posted a couple of days ago about us looking at DeAndre Yedlin, and I've seen today were offering him a pre season trial with a look at buying.

Believable27 Unbelievable9

Good work

Agree1 Disagree3

Great prospect. Young, quick, and can play in a lot of positions. I would welcome it, and I don't suppose the price would be too much up front. Probably add on/appearance based for a few million dollars.

05 Jul 2014 06:20:44
Ed002, if you could. Two contradicting reports to do with the person tonight. So I'll try and keep this simple. 1-has a fee been agreed? ( if so, to your knowledge, how much?) 2- is Sanchez included? And finally, 3- do liverppol want Sanchez in this deal.
Cheers

Believable12 Unbelievable4

{Ed002's Note - Details remain to be resolved but I understand in principle agreement has been reached. Sanchez is not part of the deal. Liverpool are interested in Sanchez.}

Why do people on here get so caught up with transfer fees?

Agree2 Disagree1

05 Jul 2014 09:48:43
Hi Ed, is it the case that LFC and Barca have agreed on a price and will now negotiate how that will be met ie whether it includes players or not? Or if we want Sanchez does it have to be a seperate deal? I'm not really sure how these things work. Cheers

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I would not confuse anything just yet with other players.}

05 Jul 2014 09:57:06
Good. So its possible both deals can go through as seperate transfers.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Lots of things are possible.}

05 Jul 2014 07:59:13
The club negotiating for balotelli is not Liverpool.

Believable52 Unbelievable6

Well there's a surprise!
Who really thought he would be coming to lfc anyhow?

Thank god for that, complete headbanger! We're trying to offload one nutcase as it is.

hi ed1
you were pretty sure Liverpool were looking for another GK a few months back, now we have a bit of extra cash do you see anything happening in that department?
begovic would be awsome!

Believable5 Unbelievable8

{Ed001's Note - depends on us getting other targets first. We still haven't secured our main two priorities yet.}

Hi 01, are you refering to a CB and LB?

Cheers

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - and wide forward, I should have said 3, not 2, my mistake.}

Main two targets? Any ideas who ed?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - should have been 3, but Lovren is top choice centre half, we would still like Moreno for LB, but looks like it is not going to happen, so probably Bertrand, though I am not sure there. We still want a wide player as well, Sanchez is extremely unlikely, but I can still hope, it is more likely to be one of the names that have been circulated already.}

05 Jul 2014 10:43:06
Does it also depend on getting Pepe a move? Still not think we might end up being stuck with him next season?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - that is a major sticking point, yes.}
