Is there any hope of Luke Shaw? I understand that Chelsea have invested interest, and Manchester United, However I can't help dreaming.

Just out of interest Ed, why hasn't Bertrand been able to force his way into the Chelsea side prior to his loan this january?

I don't think Bertrand would be worth signing. Better than Cissokho of course, better than Enrique when fit I wouldn't say so. Even after a full season I wouldn't expect him to be much better so I'd rather hold out and try to get somebody better if we could

Hi Ed2, I hope you're well. There have been some rumours about Ashley cole being available this summer so I was wondering as a Chelsea supporter, do you think he will leave and if so, do you think he'd consider Liverpool or would wages be an issue.

I have to say, I still think the guy is one of the best defenders I have ever seen.

{Ed002's Note - Cole is out of contract in the summer and I expect he will move on. Unless Liverpool show some interest in him he won't be considering them. He would want a hefty signing on fee and high wages. There will be no shortage of offers including from the United States.}

I really wouldn't like to see Cole at Liverpool. Sure, he is a good player, but.....

Hi eds, Metro and a couple of other sources have linked us with Lacazette. He seems to fit the profile of player that we go for, so do you believe there are any legs in this rumour? Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - I understand that Spurs and Arsenal have had Lacazette watched and that previous interest from Roma remains. He is having a good season and by the summer I would expect that there will be interest in him from a number of clubs, possibly including Liverpool, but I am not aware of interest at this time.}

We have sent scouts to watch him on three occasions lately so he is being monitered by us.

If BR doesn't think he is ready to Coutinho or Sterling then Seville would be a good place for him to go out on loan to.

Agreed though, Haych, by the way. Would definitely be a step up from Almeria, although providing they stay in La Liga it may make more sense for him to stay there for another year. Doesn't have to settle into a new club, new property etc etc

Thanks for your reply, Ed02. I've seen it mooted that he could got there in a player+cash swap deal for Rakitic - I guess in that way they could afford him. any indication that that might be an option that is being investigated, or will be in the future, by either club?

Don't want to doubt rodgers or the committee because they have done very well in some deals. they have had misses though of course. But Bertrand, seriously? surely we would have a chance with the likes of moreno and rodriquez with champions league. The ssn La Liga experts Hunter etc all say Moreno is the best player outside of the top 3 and real and barca don't exactly need a left back either
