Naming rights partner for new stadium to be announced by the end of September. Club have narrowed down to 3 companies.

In addition the club is also investigating available grants/funding to improve transport links.

G&H's design will be used however amendments to design will be applied for taking the capacity up to 65k. This is max allowed due to transport links. However if funding is available to re-open rail link 1 of the 2 corners will be filled in taking capacity to 76,000 with the option to add an additional 11,000 in the other corner when needed.

Corporate boxes and hospitality will make the biggest difference to revenue. Outstripping the benefit of the increased capacity. Expected at least £200m of the £300m needed to come from naming rights.

Huyton Red. Great site eds keep up the outstanding work.

To be fair, I think this is a lot more believable than the redeveloping Anfield rumour. Perhaps Henrys previous statements about 60k not being viable for a new build were to put pressure on the council to allow increased capacity?

Really hope this is true,club been in limbo on stadium issue for too long now,we need to move forward and quickly.

If you believe this you probably think Harry Potter is a biography! Dont be mugged!

Frankly, this makes more sense than redeveloping Anfield. Credible rumour.
The only thing is, we are on the cusp of another financial crisis, just like the last time we were about to build a new stadium. How ironic.

How are we possibly on the cusp of a financial crisis? We have knocked £30m a year off interest payments, £30m a year off the wage bill signed a new kit deal worth an extra £17m a year and if we get champions league that's an extra £35m. So we'll be £77-112m a season better off. That on it's own would pay for a new ground in 3-5years. Plus any new revenue the ground would generate.

Id also like to ask where have got you got that from that we on the cusp of financial proplems? we hear some mad rumours on here, and to say this about finances now, id say this comes into that cat.

Ummm...I think he's talking about the financial crisis the world is about to plummit into again because of the national debt problems of Greece, Spain, Italy, Portugal and Ireland to name but a few dragging the world into a prolonged depression as markets continue to crash on a nearly daily basis...you know that stuff at the front of the newspapers

Sorry - I meant Europe is on verge of financial crisis - not Liverpool. The European banks are effectively insolvent (value of sovereign debt on their books is less than equity base). Will this effect stadium financing? I don't know.

Wow.biggest stadia plan be superb,if all falls into place

Its not just Europe thats in the red every bank in the world are all gearing up for the (NWO) they make it sound like its my fault or yours but its all set up like this so they can make more money out of us

Macca hasn't yet posted to change his info- he said the plan is to redevelop Anfield, and I for one would believe him before any of these anonymous posts.

How much garbage have we seen posted here by dreamers and liars? During the window he was the only one who got it spot on- others talked of Soldado, Affelay, and God knows who else coming in.

Sorry mate, but until Macca posts to say they've changed their minds, I still believe it'll be a developed Anfield.

G&H's design was for a new build at Stanley Park. Current belief is that the new owners are more along the lines of re-developing the current stadium and if true means G&H's design is not compatable.

If you believe the original post then I will add further that magical elves have won the contract and will complete the stadium for the 2008-2009 season! The post regarding world wide financial meltdown is correct we do not need 80k seats as we will not fill that capacity consistently and very few people will be able to afford tickets. Read the news keep up with what is going on in the world and be thankfull if Anfield is expanded to around 60k its is the best NAY ONLY possible short term solution.

They want to increase transport links in order to build a stadium with an 80,000, but are failing in tha dept at the moment. then they looked at adding to current stadium and realised it would be too expensive for only an extra 14,000 seats. then they went back to the stadium idea but have been told they can only have 60k. there not happy there want more, we need to make a mark on intention like we have in the transfer market. they we improve transport links and build a new stadium probably 75k but potentially 90k in the future which will be planned into design for easy expansion. yes, gettin the naming rights is vital, and the right one! also getting grants etc for transport links is also key. could easily all go tots up, but JOHN HENRY can pull it off hes a legend in the making.

"Expected at least £200m of the £300m needed to come from naming rights. "

my apse!

I Have signed the Post - Huyton Red!!

They should just threaten the council - clear what we need or we will relocate out of the city to near a motorway.

60,000 is not big enough. Arsenal is 60,000 and we are bigger than them. Celtic is 60,000 and we are bigger than them as well. Rangers are in planning stage to increase to 70,000 and we are also bigger than them. United intend to increase to over 90,000. So realistically we should be looking at a new stadium of 75,000 as an initial build with the capability to expand.

Magical elves? Read the post it's to be built at 65k not 80k. Only if and when transport links are sorted will it become 76k still not 80k. It would take at least 3 years for the redevolpment of anfield to be approved. Let alone work start so how is that possibly a short term solution let alone the only solution?

The global crisis does not effect every business. In the last global crisis with banks on their knees didn't Liverpool sign a £20m a year sponsorship deal with standard chartered? Can you please remind me what type of business standard charter are?

The naming rights partner will be 1 of 3. 1 from USA (yes I'm aware of their countries problems but won't actually be the government) or 1 of 2 from Asia. Who's economies are stronger than ever.

Read the news? Why don't you read the full story instead of just the headlines?

To all the people pointing out the global crisis can someone explain how the banks can all be in more debt than there assets cover? Who exactly do they all owe the money to? Plus again governments will bail them out rather than see all the people lose there savings.

Oh and America are on their knees so does that mean no business in america can make money? Think apple, Microsoft and coca cola to name but a few would argue. Also tesco making nearly £4b a year.

If Everton can get £45m in debt on running costs I'm sure Liverpool can get £100m finance to cover the 3rd of the costs of a new ground.

With the Russian season ending in Jan will Aiden mcgeady be in KK thoughts? I'm lead to believe he is an admirer of the player

I was at the Ireland v Slovakia match on Fri last and he was easily the worst player on the pitch......biggest cheer of the nite was when he was substituted.........hope KK steers well clear of him......AJohnson is who we should be looking at......

Not a chance, he is not good enough to put on the sacred shirt

I believe he is gud enough, when the oppossing team has three men marking McGeady,that surely means they knew he was a big threat..the Irish match was bad all around..
JayRed

How many world class scottish footballers do you know errrr let me think now that should answer your question he just not good enough

Would rather have arron lennon there about the same mcgeady is all tricks no end product i personnaly cant see us payin 14 million for him well would like to think we wouldnt {Ed009's Note - but Lennon isn't?}

A couple of years ago McGeady nearly came to Anfield -he had even changed his agent ready for the move. It was a bit of a carousel of transfers that would have involved Babel (remember him?) going to Birmingham, someone else moving etc etc. It fell apart at this last minute which is a good job as McGeady at the time (don't know about nowadays) had a sever off-pitch discipline problem liking to take 'refreshment' to the extreme and turning in late for training due to being 'tired'. RED LENIN

Eds, please ban all talk of McGeady to Liverpool from this site. He can't pass, can't shoot, can't tackle! I'd prefer Kenny to pick some ol' fella wearing a duffel coat from the paddock every week - he'd have more passion.
Digger

Mate I am from the Republic Of Ireland and from seeing him play last friday he is muck he gets the ball with no end product avid please like the plague in my eyes.

McGeady has bags of potential and his game has really improved since he has been playing at a better level in Russia, a move to the Premiership could possibly bring out the best in him but it would be a massive risk, as for the other irish fans saying he was the worst player the other night, that's BS, he got Ward out of trouble by tracking back on a number of occasions, and apart from Duff he was the only other player who actually wanted to attack the Slovakians. All in all though, not the right player for Liverpool.

The Russian season will not finish in December, as usual. They are playing an 18-month season to come into line with most of Europe.

McGeady wud b a gr8 signing, and wud only improve under KD management..after all b4 the season started alot of ye were saying that the likes of Adam and Henderson werent L/pool players, so wat do ye know..Mcgeady wasnt booed off, the fans booed because he was taken off.
Red&Bred

Nobody said he was booed off ya clown. they cheered when he was taken off and hunt brought on, should have happened at least half an hour before that too, he was SHOCKING.

I could run at the Slovakians but not to great effect which is what McGeady did on Friday. He is a shocking player. When a few of his tricks didn't work out he began to sulk. Not the kind of player I would like at Liverpool. And to the guy who said the crowd booed because he was taken off that is complete b***ocks. He was awful all game and frustrated the fans and they were glad he was taken off because.

I hope Notttttttttttttttt

He would be a good addition to LFC, the crowd cheering for Hunt, give us a break..the whole team was dump..he was the best of a bad bunch!

With the Russian season ending in Jan will Aiden mcgeady be in KK thoughts? I'm lead to believe he is an admirer of the player

Would be a great signing! But I think we missed our chance couple years back to get him for under £10m. He would grow as a player at LFC.

I'm Irish. And, having watched Aiden for years, can tell you. He is nowhere near good enough. Consistently underwhelms in matches against european nations that would be championship level at best. Poor ball retention. Very few assists. No way. Absolutely no f***in way.

We should not touch Mc geady just watch him for ireland, very ineffective player, no end product. As an irishman I do not want him anywhere near our club.

Murph

40 million for pure prime beef

Another Irish no from me. McGeady is a Circus Act not a footballer. Would be more at home as one of those street performers with a football types. Distribution is poor, plays with his head down, not a prolific goalscorer, can't cross, SPL/Championship quality at best.

Abrahimovic was an admirer of shevchencko and torres. just saying. aiden is 100% cack by the way.

Knew this would happen! Rumour going around the net that Real Madrid want Suarez. No suprise not saying its going to happen, but if he ends going again not saying he is or wants too but....Jose you can have him but not for a penny less than 60 mill lol....Make that 70 mill, i think i speak for every lfc supporter in saying i dont want him to go.
GYRED

stop putting a price on the heads of our best players, you are just going to fuel the fire that the for sale rumour is true...just ignore the muppets who put our players names on their wish list. By the end of the season all of our first team players will be coveted by our competitors.

Ed would I be right in saying this is a recycled story ? I think I remember reading it at the start of the window ?
Cheers mate :)
IrishRed. {Ed002's Note - It could well be. I still expect that Real Madrid have an interest in Tevez though and that we may see some movement in January.}

Wow yo get to decide who leaves! must be a shock to DC and KK. Of course they will be interested you person who wouldn't be

Another silly rumour started by a bored child off another site back to school this week thank god

To the original poster - go back to your own page muppet. To everyone else - stop being taken in by these idiots who only want to wind you up... Suarez is going nowhere. End of.

Red Heart

I believe Suarez said that he would like to play for Barcelona. Even my dad in India who follows only cricket knows that very few play for Real Madrid and Barcelona. So, if Suarez goes to RM, he will diminish his chances of Barcelona and Suarez is not the baby to say something when he does not mean it. Atleast thats my perception of him.

So stop fretting about it and learn the new Lucas Leiva song for Saturday

He is worth as much as messi IMO ... does good club and national level no less than 200m pounds of solid gold from captain jack sparrows chest F*** that no one can have our SUAREZ....

Ronillz

Like i said! Not saying its going to happen nor do i want it too just passing on what i saw! Given this is a rumours site is it not? If you want facts read the daily star ;) Fair comment Irish Red(thanks for signing) maybe old news, but its first time i've seen this mate.And yeah im on the phone to KK as i type hot topic is the strategy maximize the far east market.
Anyway off to pick my uniform back school tomorrow:)
GYRED

Thnk i'd rather have players playing for LFC that are wanted by other top clubs than not, the real test will be if these same players still want to play for LFC when these clubs come in, hopefully by then our ambitious owners and Kenny will have given them the assurances by performances on and off the field that all parties ambitions can be best served if we stay together and continue to invest in success.

Red Til Dead

70 million............still not enough,he's by far a better all round player/striker than Torres ever was/will be,dont think he'll be a judas either :)

Might be worth it if they give us higain ronaldo marcelo and xabi and maybe benzema an 20 million think that might be worth swapping him for
jez

I don't think he'll be going anytime soon, but the new owners strategy is to buy younger player use them for few years and sell them on for big profit, they are running business after all, all they have to do is make him write a request to leave so he can get the blame just like meirales did, but will not happened for at least couple of years.

Re: 1st reply. i think i will really start to trust NESV if we come out of that situation in one piece, because one thing this team definitely needs is time together (along with one or two key signings), because some of these figures in football today make you wonder! LOL! am glad to be on the journey! YNWA from the motherland

I think Suarez has a little more loyalty in him than many modern footballers do.
He has a bond with the fans, and he made a point of going back to Ajax to say farewell, and was given a standing ovation.

But he does want to win. If LFC can keep their momentum going and threaten for the title, he won't think his chances are any better at other prem clubs that here.

If we can match or better the top 4 clubs, I honestly think the only team he would leave us for is Barca, and if LFC keep building and make a couple more truly world class signings next season, I think we could push on to win the prem, and get so close to Barca's standard that we can beat them too- as we have done before.

What's the new lucas song?!

Realistic red

Just another wind up - get real folks. What LFC fan would come on here & effectively promote this idea. He's just trying to put the wind up every one. For a start, why does this poster asume LFC are just sitting ducks waiting to be preyed upon, if you're a real fan you wouldn't think like that.

dd

Jeez, i thought the schools were back ! this is from a kids website, get a grip

Were does it say lfc are sitting ducks? And i doubt any website has any bearing on any transfers. The phrase" dont shoot the messenger" comes to mind FU@K! Just saying what i read.Keyboard commandos!
GYRED

If we start competing for top trophies, I suspect he will stay, and leave for Barca in a few years to finish his career. If we just "try to get fourth place" every season, I suspect he will leave sooner. Either way, I won't blame him. We will get good money and move on.

Gyred... Top Teams around the world are always looking at each others top players, that's the nature of the business. Your post has an accent of alarm about it that suggests we could be targeted & are somehow vunerable, that is why your post has a backlash. Qute frankly so what if Real Madrid are looking at Suarez, I'd be dissapointed if they were not. My question is why post it as a rumour, unless you believe this could possibly mean bad news for LFC. Thats how your post has been percieved. Try not to let it worry you...

dd

GYRED u say u dont want suarez to go but youve just put a price on him.

I tell you what, lets put a £100 million pound buyout clause on suarez and then lets see if real madrid really want him.

So he persuades a young International team-mate and friend in Sebastian Coates to sign for Liverpool. While he himself is looking to leave. Absolutely ridiculous post! He's making good friends at Lfc and like many Great Players before him, I think he will fall in love with our Club.
Seems like there's plenty of rival fans jealous of Suarez playing for Lfc. Mind you can't say I blame them! "What a fantastic player!"
kidmillions

Nonsense. Everyone wants Suarez he is the best player in the world right now.

Messi is the best player in the world period and will be for probably the next 10 years.

Messi is the best player in the world period and will be for probably the next 10 years.

correction:

Messi is the best player in the world period and will be for probably the next 5 years.

I thought Poulson was the best player in the world closely followed by Konchesky?!

Hi eds,

I juz realised with a bit of surprise that we let Tom Ince go to Blackpool on a free? Did I make a mistake or is it true?

Singapore (where I m from) is veeery far from kirkby and melwood but I was of the impression that he was a decent young player with some potential. Hence my surprise.

Any idea if there's a buy-back clause of smthing?

Thanks loads!

Singapore Red
{Ed002's Note - No, but LIverpool will have received compensation for his youth development.}

From what I have been told, young Ince - although a reasonable prospect, had an over-inflated opinion of his worth. RED LENIN

Not only did young Ince have a high opinion of himself - so did hid dad! I think Tom was offered a new contract a couple of times but Paul thought the amount was 'derisory' and that Tom was worth a lot more. That is why he went to Blackpool with the enormous salaries (£75 per week in the close season?) that the players receive there. He may eventually make the grade but only time will tell.
Dutchmal

Very true. The kid thought he was a superstar and so did his dad. Unfortunately superstars typically make good decisions in the final third, and little Ince was notorious for making the wrong one. He won't be missed. He was the only Liverpool player I just did not like. Now he's someone elses problem!

dbn

Fancy Dancer of a player. Thinks he is better than he is. We have much better prospects whose feet are on the ground. Good luck to Ince but I think he needs a reality check.

You obviously never saw him play - he was championship material - maybe

He's playing in the Championship - maybe!
DM

We let him go due to his dad demanding a stupidly high pay structure putting in place for him, the thoughts of the club were that the inteference from his dad was to much bagage {Ed001's Note - he was also a very average player who had little chance of ever making it into the first team. He is simply not as good as Sterling, in particular. He was also an arrogant little ball hog who would waste possession 9 times out of 10 when he got the ball.}

News@ Its going to be CocaCola Anfield stadium.
You heard here first. remember my name - Karim

No it's not.

Its look like Coca Cola rumer very strong. any way Mr. Karim it will be the old one or newly Build ?

Standard Chartered are involved

Karim, this 'rumour' was posted several times two days ago. Do a search at top of the page. You are not the first to mention it mate.
red deano YNWA

Not a chance. You will see Anfield expanded in stages over the next 4 years. Its not gonna be some super sexy new staduim, we dont need that. Just more bums on seats around 60k and then further expansion if needed over the decade.

You are full of Coca Cola m8 :)

Source??hope true.be mega!

Teeth rot !

Its budweiser

Hope not. Coca cola is pure evil, I'd be sick if we let them have the naming rights! Read how they do their business people, especially in Africa.

They do plough the money into big sponsors over in states and far east were standaerd id based, with the usa and afr east connection id would not be surprised of thies rumour being true. i for will be very happy staying at anfield, but id like to see the old train line being reopened to get more than the 60,000. may take few years to biuld it up to that gate size but as fsg are here for long term then works all round as far as am concerned.

What a load of kack

I remember bout 10years ago when i was in school that coca cola was doin the rumour rounds back then, so no surprise if they do really. imo i hope not tho.

Hi Ed/ Macca/ Anyone

my questions earlier seemed to disappear in all the deadline hu ha, so here goes;

Any of the youth players being considered for the 1. team ? A few got a small run under Kenny last season, and I was wondering just how far off our youth/reserves are, to a similar chance of being eased in. Or serving an apprentenship in the top if you can put it like taht {Ed009's Note - Apart from the obvious mentions of Flanagan and Robinson, who are established back up to the first team, the next closest are Coady, Suso and Sterling. I would expect to see all three get a few run outs in Carling Cup games etc, as ability wise they are as good as ready for first team football already. The reason they won't see regular football though is their lack of physical maturity. It can be dangerous to a youngster's development to through them in at the deep end before they are ready. That in mind, Coady is the closest to being a regular squad member; his physique is advanced beyond his years.}

Thanks :-)

Keep up the good work

Wisdom?he's brilliant,really stood out at right full(centreback by trade)against Sporting

{Ed009's Note - To the poster above, whilst I rate Wisdom highly, largely due to his strength, I feel he is still defensively a little naive and needs a little more tutoring in the reserves before he is ready for first team action.}

I rate Coady but against Swansea he looked dead on his feet in the 2nd half.

Deffo one for the future though.

Like to see this coady,get a few run outs

It appears that the club have found a sponsor for the NEW stadium. Announcement soon.

Sorry mate, nice try but I don't believe it for a moment.
Yes it is possible LFC have changed their minds since Macca's info- but let's be honest, who are we going to believe? A man who is reliable and trustworthy, or an anonymous one-line post?

Hope so,but like a redeveloped anfield.65,000!

So you believe macca over john henry who said himself they are looking for partners as anfield is a no go!! {Ed002's Note - I suspect you may have misunderstood something Mr Henry has said.}

Yes we did try and buy Nikica Jelovic, we put an offer in for £5m but it was turned down so we went in for a loan offer and that was also turned down. Ed001 not sure where you get your info from as you said no to the previous question about Jelovic. {Ed001's Note - not sure where you got yours from, it's nonsense.}

I thought it was newcastle who were the unnamed prem club as they bid after their bid for bryan ruiz failed

The poster is obviously DC or KK otherwise how would they know for sure ed ....lol

What a pile of tosh, he is nowhere near good enough. the "mystery" bid was made up to placate the gullible rangers fans

Were finished buying average players, i was told that newcastle were the club rangers turned down.

Why dont you belive jelovic will join liverpool when jelovic has good information

I am desperate to know so someone tell me! {Ed001's Note - no.}
