"Ed i have it on good authority that Liverpool And Keisuke Honda Have Agreed A Deal Honda Has Been Offered A 4 Year Contract By LFC.

firstly, i agree with the person who said its really annoying for you to give every word a capital letter. But also, I'm pretty sure its illegal to discuss a contract with the player without the club's permission, and we'd probably have to agree a price with the club before they let us. Otherwise we'd be 'tapping up' the player. correct me if I'm wrong ed? {ed's note - depends on if the club have given permission for us to speak to the player or not.}

Josip Ilicic linked with LFC , investigated him on the internet , actually looks a good player , a 6ft 3" attacking central midfielder with dribbling skill , vision and a good pass plus goals return at 22 years of age - he would be an interesting signing .

Ever banega to liverpool in jan.

did anyone else notice that in the list of stadiums for our failed world cup bid it said "new anfield"? does this mean that the bid team had been informed that we're building a new stadium rather than building an extension?

or it coulda meant new anfield as in anfield would be changed extended more, , so wouldn't be the old anfield anymore cos if they built a new stadium would it of been called anfield

I can't see the roy to newcastle and martin jol becoming our manager! because if my memory serves me well, i don't think jol and comolli had the best of relationships when they were both at spurs, especially when jol was outed for ramos.

I remember Jol spouting his credentials for the Newcastle job when they were promoted on SSN and I thought his timing was bang out of order considering what Houghton had done and the way he had gone about his job. I expect him to be the new Newcastle boss within a few days.

Lol that you stick to your own forums when you talk about going on utds to wind them up also you often leave comments on spurs forums! and as for wickham forget goal.com or your own lfc ego the fact remains app spurs offered him a good deal as well as offering ipswich a good deal! and if he does go to them then good luck to them!

LFC ego? Yous are the most cocky fans in the league (even though yous have done fa in about 20 years).

Oh yea, "apparantly" Spurs offered him a good deal. Did this also come off Goal.com? And no, we won't forget Goal.com because its the only place saying Wickham has made his mind up.

Plus, even if it was true it says Arsenal and Spurs, not just Spurs. In which case he'll choose Arsenal as they are a bigger club (by far).

Now sod off you little maggot.

Self denial is it now with liverpool fans think the word pathetic was a word very well chosen when depicting liverpool fans! as for goal.com or whatever it is the reason spurs ARE favs is because t hey have loaned out players to ipswich as well as the player being shown around the lodge and whl, from where im standing it sounds as though your nose has been well and truly out of shape! but im sure you'll find some lame remark to reply with? yes!
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Goal.com is the only place saying Spurs are favourites. And it is unreliable at best.

Has Wickham said he wants to join Spurs over Liverpool? Has his agent or any representative said he wants to join Spurs over Liverpool? If not, then your basing your story on absolutly nothing.

The only reason yous are favourites is because you could offer them a couple of players in exchange. Certainly nothing to do with anything the player has said himself.

You talk about fans being pathetic, well we stick to our own board and forums. Whereas you Spuds constantly come on here having a pop or something, yous are obsessed. That's pathetic.

Wickham is a huge Liverpool fan! Why would he join the Yods? Get off of our site you fool your opinion isn't valued here!

I think you're imagining things. His name has been mentioned but he's hardly been a central rumour on these pages. Most haven't even seen him play. As for Spurs being favourites, well i'd be more likely to pay heed to my dog barting than take a Goal.com article in which they "understand" something seriously. What i personally see as pathetic is the way you seem keen to rewrite the posting history of this site in order to make out Wickham was some kind of be-all-and-end-all of transfer targets for Liverpool fans. Most had never seen him, and i doubt you'd find one who thought the mooted £10m fee would have been well spent when we are having trouble enough integrating the youth talent we already have into the first team. You can think our supporters pathetic, but at least they're not all confined to N1, come back when your club has a worldwide fanbase ;)

Just in reply to this post Ed.

"Ferguson sold him to stoke 2 yrs ago, so using him as a guide to what a good player he is, doesn't quite add up. If he was that good why would he let him go?Unless you are saying Stoke have improved him as a player, to the extent that united couldnt.Obviously playing regular football does improve potential, but it doesn't gloss over that Fergie thought Evans was the better defender, by choosing to let Shawcross go.So Fergie being interested in him now, doesn't impress me.I don't think fergies buys have been great, for a long time".

One player comes in mind Gerard Pique! he might of not been happy at United but he was sold none the less. For me Pique is one of the best around in his position. Alex Ferguson makes mistakes, and my point being he made a mistake with Shawcross. Shawcross is one of the best young central defenders around. A lot better than Evans.

James Mc {ed's note - Pique was sold because he was homesick for Spain and Barca wanted him back. Shawcross was sold because he wasn't good enough to get near the team. That is a huge difference mate.}

And Pique was at the time also not good enough for the 1st team. This is shown with his appearances. Both Pique & Shawcross both left at the same time. Reading around regarding this topic, Pique didn't just leave for home sickness reasons, it was also lack of opportunity.

My point was, players get sold and can become better players. Shawcross is one of them. Shawcross has always had it in him, I played against Ryan Shawcross in 2001. Knowsley Boys v Flintshire Boys in the Welsh National Cup. He was head and shoulders above the rest of his peers.

James Mc

BREAKING NEWS: LIVERPOOL IS TO BE RESOLD WITHIN TWO YEARS AS JOHN HENRY AND NESV ONLY WISH TO PAPPER OVER THE CRACKS AND SELL AT A PROFIT. THEY SAW THIS AS A MONEY SPINNER AND HAVE NO INTEREST IN FOOTBALL, HENSE THE REASON TO SELL.

SORRY GUYS BUT THIS IS FROM A VERY VERY RELIABLE SOURCE AND I MYSELF HOPE THIS IS NOT TRUE, BUT I THINK IT

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Why exactly are you sorry? I don't imagine this is true for one minute but let's just say it is for the sake of this discussion. NESV paper over the cracks and sell us on for a profit. In fact it's quite hard, in football, to paper over cracks, because they are made apparent at least once a week. To paper over the cracks they would have to make us in a good standing with regards to the league as league standings don't lie. To do that they are going to have to buy players that are better than the ones they intend on replacing. Also if they want to maximise the desirability of the club they will probably want to build a new or renovate the current stadium. They are then going to want a massive fee for the club probably close to what Hicks and Gillette wanted originally. The only people that could afford and are willing to pay that price are going to be ones that really want a football club in the first place and also be and mega wealthy.

So to sum up they are going to have to turn Liverpool FC as club around as we at present are not as desirable as we were a couple of years ago as we are not competing for top honours. The only thing that makes us desirable is the Fan Base. So if NESV want to make us successful again and then sell us to a mega rich owner then fine by me. Thank you NESV for turning us around.

Again Its clearly not true as I doubt NESV would of gone to all that trouble with the court case and angering there Red Sox baseball fans who believe LFC going to be a drain on their teams finance, unless they really wanted to own and make another success story.

SORRY GUYS BUT THIS IS FROM A VERY VERY RELIABLE SOURCE AND I MYSELF HOPE THIS IS NOT TRUE, BUT I THINK IT IS.

Your source is rubbish mate. When Liverpool could be had for next to nothing there was hardly a credible offer put forth. We were looking at administration or more Hicks and Gillett holding out for big money offers (which never came). So, who would buy the club after debts are taken care of, squad has been overhauled and stadium project has been put in motion? If people were not lining up to snap up the club for cheap, you won't find a big market for it after all the cracks have been plastered over and its value is at its highest. Football clubs generally lose money, that's a fact. If they bought it when they did, it was to fix it and reap the benefits themselves and that doesn't happen shortly.
if this is the case, why in heavens name did NESV buy us out, and clear the club of major debt and save us from almost certain administration? if they wanted us to sell for profit, why did they not wait, let us go into administration and just buy us for a bargain basement price, straight from RBS and co, paper the cracks, then sell , oh and while we are at it asset strip the club and players! this theory is utter rubbish, NESV are not another H&G

Well they've spent £600m already on top of what they'll spend on transfers and other things.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Ed, have NESV spent £600m to buy the club or was it £300m?
I thought it was £300m to wipe out the clubs debt so H&G got nothing. If it was £600m then H&G would have walked away with something.

MUSHROOM {ed's note - as far as I can find out you are correct mate, it was not 600m.}
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

What I meant was £300m for the club itself, and £300m clearing the debt?

BREAKING NEWS: LIVERPOOL IS TO BE RESOLD WITHIN TWO YEARS AS JOHN HENRY AND NESV ONLY WISH TO PAPPER OVER THE CRACKS AND SELL AT A PROFIT. THEY SAW THIS AS A MONEY SPINNER AND HAVE NO INTEREST IN FOOTBALL, HENSE THE REASON TO SELL.

Well they've spent £600m already on top of what they'll spend on transfers and other things.

To make a profit they'll need to make Liverpool a winning team, on top of taking us into Asia and increasing commercial income and possibly building a new stadium/ expanding Anfield. - that's what we want isn't it?

You should have thought of things like that before making up that post.

Just reading that we'll miss out on Connor Wickham as he favours a move to Arsenal or Tottenham. (Goal.com)

If this is true then so much for him being a great Liverpool fan.

they can have him hes injury prone, , , and the money there talking about paying for him is rediculous for a 17 year old, £10 million for a championship 17 year old, , , no thank you, let arsenal or tottenham pay silly money for him

Watched the Valencia vs Real Madrid match and couldn't help but notice that Ever Banega could be our creative (Midfielder) solution to the lack of creativity in our side.

What do you guys think of Ever Banega?

do you think Liverpool should sign him?

BTW E.D is there any chance we could actually realistically sign him? {ed's note - we should have bought him years ago, he sits on the bench most weeks for Valencia who are desperate for money. We have a very realistic chance of getting him if we move for him.}

Hi I have it on good authority that Liverpool have made contact with or are showing interest in the following

Honda (not a new one) 12m
Cahill (doing the rounds now) 10m seems a lot to me
Wickham 10m again seems alot for unproven talent
A Johnson 18m (no way will man city sell)
Allbrighton 9m (could be a great signing)
would Villa go for it? )

Comoli also keen on on 2 young french players one is a defensive mid called Mendy don't know to much about him but he plays for Monaco and is being compared in style, size etc to claude makelele the other is Antoine Griezman the Real socidad left winger.

im not claiming all these to be true just know a family friend is involved in scouting for young south american players for euorpean based agent firms. I asked him if there where any young exciting players headed to Anfield he laughed siad who knows but told me that these rumours are well known in footballing circles

Any thoughts on the above Ed? ? {ed's note - not really mate, there are so many teams we have had watched no one knows who we are after, those rumours are as likely as any of the other 3 million though!}

My feeling about it is that in this economic recession there are so many clubs that are in trouble abroad, more than in England, " he added.

"These clubs are under enormous pressure to sell. So this January window could be a very different window from what we have seen previously.

"Players that we would never have thought would be available could be. So that's why we are working away, thinking that if there is the right opportunity we should do it. Strange things could happen."

these are camoli's words ed. do you think he is talking about valencia. mata and banega. irishred {ed's note - no, Valencia's players are always available as they are desperate for money and have been for years. But now they are just one of many clubs who need to sell.}

Ed what do you think, From the little I've seen from Jovanovic he has scored two great goals and is one of the people who looks to care about the club why not play him up with Torres he is a striker not a winger.Also I think the new owners should show ambition and build our stadium but most importantly buy players like Aguero Dzeko and Higuain because they all fit the bill of what they want . Also I Heard GIGniac was coming because he hasn't really made an impression at Marsielle how tru is that

{Editor's Note: The Gignac suggestion is false.}

Daily Mail says John Henry is going to fund a £10m deal for Liverpool to sign Connor Wickham. Heard so much about him. You think he'd be good signing Ed? Could he be world class? Doubt he would offer much for now, at 17. {ed's note - I doubt he would cost £10m right now, he has fallen out with Roy Keane hasn't he? He is a big Liverpool fan and would jump at the chance to join us. I have to say he didn't impress me at first, I thought he was just a big lump who stood out because of his size and strength compared to his age group. But during the Euros he was excellent and showed pace and skill as well as strength, he looked an excellent prospect. Mind so did Coady in central midfield, yet now he is playing mostly at centre back, so maybe coming here wouldn't be the best step for Wickham to progress?}
