Hello Ed002,
certainly an interesting piece of rumour about Mourinho. The question is : would Liverpool fans want and accept him as a manager?- I doubt it.Would they like him more if the title was ours at the end of 2012/2013 season? Or would they rather stick to KK, even if there was a slimmer chance of the title? If United have been loyal to sir Alex Ferguson for so long, I think we should give KK at least one more season after this one. Besides, I doubt Mo would come to LFC. Think he'd like to go back to Stamford or Old T. instead. In Kenny we trust!! {Ed002's Note - There is no Mourinho rumour.}

I want trophy rather then king or queen. Liverpool don't have it more the 20 years and if Mourinho can help us win one then bring it .

abcd.

Liverpool is too good a club for mourinho. Hate the bloke, would rather win nothing forever than have him as manager

Jose is a man who puts a team together for now. He's not arsed about building a club. Sure it would be nice to have him and possibly a bit of glory, but for what price. He always leaves his clubs full of aging player and rarely think of tomorrow. It's all about him.

Kebabthief (just my 2p on the rumour)

Don't agree
When he leaves Real they will have an excellent side remaining with the likes of Ozil, Khedira, Marcelo, Granero, Higuain, Benzema, Ramos, Albiol.
it's not exactly ageing....

Maureen would be awful for Liverpool. KK is in charge and we look stronger every game. Maureen or anyone else is simply not needed.

cozinoz

We dont have enough money for him! He only goes to clubs who can offer mega cash to buy the very best. He is a selfish chap who wants the glory for himself.
KK is the way forward. Look waht he has done in a year. Let him build the club back up. That bloke at United was given 5 or 6 years to build them up, we cannot expect miracles after just one year from Kenny. Patience my friends....

What have our fans turned into? King Kenny out when there is still much of the season left? I cant none of you go the game, we are so close, we batter teams and just dont score, that comes when a team gels, mark my works we will be there or there abouts next season, Downing, Carroll, Hendo and Adam couldnt have had worse starts so we will only get better!

In Kenny I trust! YNWA

Forget about Mo , King is Here to stay, end of

Just asking d question so don't crucify me....Did we not spend money in the transfer window because we may be waiting on a certain Real Madrid manager to take over in the summer?? We know he is not staying at Real at the end of the season and he keeps hinting he is coming back to England and I was listening to 5 Live the other night and the commentator was saying he may possibly be heading up our way. Its a point for reasoned debate and discussion i believe...should...nay, would we have him as our manager?

Slimboy {Ed002's Note - That must be it.}

Do not want him

BigD

Liverpool have no interest in Mourinho and he has no interest in us. The info I have heard is that FSG want Pep Guardiola when he decides to leave Barca.

Thanks Ed002 for your reasoned answer lol, I take it from your succinct response that you would not be in favour then?

Slimboy {Ed002's Note - It is simply not the case that Liverpool did not spend this January because they are putting aside money for MOurinho. The club were never going to spend much in January, and there is certainly nothing in place to take Mourinho to Anfield in the summer.}

Get a grip!

KNEE JERK

I thought we would be one of the last teams he would want to manage

He is not coming to us, i do not believe that Liverpool would touch him with a barge pole he is the type of manager who thinks he is more important than the club

1 - Mourinho would have no interest in the "team approach" at Anfield. He'd have to be in total charge of all Football ops.
2 - His ego won't fit through the Mersey tunnel
3 - The owners woudn't put up with someone more in love with himself than the club.

Never going to happen, the man has no class at all, has said on many occasions he will not manage us and sets his team up to win ugly 1.0 matches. kenny trumps him in everyway

Yeah.. he is coming to manage preston.

Ed:
Not a rumour, though was at a Sportsmans Dinner on Friday night where Jan Molby was guest speaker and he seems to think Kenny not a fan of Hazard, expects Shaquiri and Christian Eriksen to be persued, have you any info along these lines
Not sure how much Jan knows or doesn't.

Beggers {Ed002's Note - Use the search engine to find more detail, but Hazard will almost certainly not be moving to Liverpool; Shaqiri may be an option; Eriksen I think would be a decent option if Liverpool qualify for the Champions League - else no chance.}

Agree ed think erickson would be a great signing for us. I still like that leroy fer from fc 20 too. If andy Carroll keeps improving and gets in the goals those 2 would do me for the summer.

Erikson has turned down both Chelsea and man city, the lad is a spurs fan (442 mag?), would be a dream to play for spurs apparently, so if they come calling think it would be a no contest?

Shaquiri has already agreed terms with Bayern - Off to Germany in the Summer!

Is it just me that thinks shqiri (sp.), just a bit of a headless chicken ?

Analysis :
Defender - Aurelio expected to leave and maybe lfc will promote jack robinson as backup for enrique. Coates will get more action nxt season. New CB will be signed if Agger injured. IF GLEN leave, Kelly will take his place, but expected to sign replacement for glen. Kelly style is more direct, but glen is good with dribble. So skillful player like glen will replace him.

Midfield - lucas n spearo is gud enough for DMf unless one of them injured too often then maybe lfc get another DMF. Gerrard may not play every game 90min, so he will alternate it with c.adam. Or hendo. Another attacking mid will be sign if lfc decide not to use jonjo.

Winger - left wing already got 2 players, bellamy n downing. Kuyt expected to leave, hendo will fill the void of right winger. Expected new player for position RW.

Striker - Suarez, n big Andy. Expected another new singing for this position. Big name striker will be signed if lfc still cannot achieve top 4 this season.

CONCLUSION;
Buy CB - if Agger still consistenly injured.
Buy RB - if Glen leaves.
Buy Striker - Definitely since we lack cover of gud striker.
Buy Right Wing - defintly if Kuyt leaves.
Buy Dmf - if Spearo or lucas injured.
Buy Attacking mid - depend.

Dtg'lfc.

We have a squad mate. We don't have to buy 5 or 6 players again. Maybe 2 or 3 but we aren't rebuilding again. OUr team is strong

OR

Buy CB if Carra retires because we need a back cup

Promote Flanagan - If Glen leaves

Buy Striker - AND promote Morgan

Buy Right Wing - Defintely

Promote Coady - If Spearing/Lucas injured

Buy Midfield Attack - Suso?

RenegadeRed

I think we'll buy a RW to replace Kuyt/Maxi like Greizmann or Shaqiri and possibly a striker someone like Luuk De Jong, maybe an Attacking Mid/Playmaker a la Eriksen/Ramirez. Players who've come from the academy/reserves will probably come in for def positions. Thats just my opinion anyway. {Ed002's Note - And probably not far off what is possible.}

Why will hendo in right wing its clear that he is more effective in central midfield?

Agree with first reply to original poster...we have a good squad, a couple of additions would no doubt improve us...
also, Agger has not missed that many games this season...apart from the occasional change at right back, or when we have gone with 5 at the back, the defense has been fairly consistent.
Cant wait for the game tonight!
Paul Mc

I think a right winger and a striker will be the priority signings.

RedSG

Totally agree with RenegadeRed, however would love to see Erikson

BigD

I think we're short of 1-2 wingers and one striker. We've talent coming through the academy. the likes of, Suso, Sterling, teixeira, Silva, Coady, Sama, Wisdom, Morgan are quite ready for promotion into the team. I wish they can get a few chances into the first team, either here or on loan and they'd be ready. YNWA

Buy a CB to replace Carra is a great shout - anyone suggesting we get rid of Agger, even if he is injured again, is insane - our best CB by a mile.

If Glen leaves buy Isla - Flanagan is not ready yet and needs to improve his physique badly

Buy a striker/poacher - Morgan is not ready yet, we should bide our time.

Buy Right Winger regardless of who we sell.

Coady looks good in the reserves but still not ready for the first team yet - like Flanagan needs to work on his physique, will get bullied in the PL. Do not think Spearing is good enough long term.

Buy attacking midfielder - hopefully a young prospect who can fit into the team straight away. And try an give Suso a few games because his potential is massive. Our strengthening of this position could largely depend on Gerrard's fitness over the coming seasons as well.

Buy Left Wing - sell downing, because he has not been good enough, no desire, work rate, commitment or real class. If I see him balloon a shot over the bar one more time my head will explode.

Hi eds if rodagella ran down his deal and became a free agent do you think liverpool could go in for him? {Ed002's Note - I have no idea - the summer is a long way off.}

06 Feb 2012 15:09:06
eds what are the reasons behind your opinion that pacheco will be sold? {Ed002's Note - Pacheco burned his bridges way back. This has been discussed ad nauseum, try the search function please.}

He was always late for trainin

Never impressed me once overated player

The search function would not easily find the answer to this though would it? Why post it only to say use the search function? Yet other questions and posts get ignored completely? {Ed002's Note - It took me 10 seconds to find the answer using the search function. I have no idea what you mean by "other questions and posts get ignored completely". If you signed your posts it would be easier to see what the issue is.}

i was wondering why some edds seem sure johnson will leave in the summer , what have i missed ? {Ed002's Note - Likely rather than sure. Try the search function.}

Hello Ed002,
are there any plans for the summer to offload some players, just as last year - which was great - and if so, apart from Johnson who is destined to go? Do you think that anyone from last year incomes may go too? I wish Downing, Adam, Henderson, Carroll and Suarez stayed. I know that the first four haven't shown their best up to this point but I believe they will perform. And it's no point in rebuilding the squad every year. Any ideas Ed? {Ed002's Note - I suspect you will see the likes of Kuyt, Pacheco, Aurelio, Amoo, Cole and Aquilani leave in addition to Johnson. Much else will depend on where the club is in respect of the Champions League, the stadium etc..}

How can you be so sure Johnson will leave? I aint saying he will stay just wondering where this is all comeing from? Eds? {Ed002's Note - Likely rather than sure. Try the search function.}

I reckon you can add Maxi to that list as well

Hi ED's posted a few times on here but nothing viable enough to put on the rumours page I accept, but is there any targets you know of for the summer, and do you no of any potential out goings?

nice one

YNWA

{Ed002's Note - Potential outgoings include Kuyt, Aurelio, Johnson, Amoo, Cole and Aquilani. It is far too early to know what will happen about arrivals but no doubt there will be some.}
