Bild again linking us with max meyer. I presume only if coutinho left could we potentially look at him. Fantastic player though.

Not at that level yet though.

Bild is just a rotten tabloid too. don't think of them as credible just because they are in Germany. They are as credible as the daily star exclusives.

a question for ED002 if he around to answer possibly? I've seen a report linking us with a loan to buy offer for mario suarez (fiorientina) as I understand watford have supposedly made a similar offer. is there any truth to lfc bid for him or just lazy journalism again? thanks for your time.

Believable2 Unbelievable6

{Ed002's Note - I am aware that Mario Suarez wants a move from Fiorentina due to lack of playing time and I understand he is attracted by English wages. Southampton, Leicester, Stoke, Marseille, Sevilla and Braga are cited as being interested and Watford have offered a loan to buy deal that may well be viable. A January move is certainly possible.}

07 Jan 2016 02:30:43
He was a decent player when he was at Atletico, though he is as slow as it can get.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jan 2016 07:55:47
i guess if he slow but good, means he plays like Roman Riquelme.

Agree1 Disagree7

07 Jan 2016 00:47:07
Hi eds, did u mention mario suarez as too slow for gegenpressing game?

Agree0 Disagree5

{Ed002's Note - I have not said anything about Mario Suarez except to explain that Liverpool has no interest in him.}

07 Jan 2016 00:47:07
Hi eds, did u mention mario suarez as too slow for gegenpressing game?

Agree0 Disagree5

{Ed002's Note - There has been no need to mention Suarez on these pages as Liverpool are not interested in him.}

06 Jan 2016 20:42:52
Ed can you give me some info on andrea ranocchia. According to sky italia we have agreed a deal and everything will be announced in the next 72 hours.

Cheers.

Believable3 Unbelievable7

{Ed002's Note - Inter are pretty desparate to raise funds and will sell Andrea Ranocchia in January or even try to use him in an exchange deal. Ranocchia was previously of interest to Liverpool (under Brendan Rodgers) and Southampton and has attracted the recent interest of Sevilla and Norwich City as they continue to look at centre backs. But it is Bologna who Inter have been negotiating with. Inter has offered him to Sampdoria as a part exchange but it remains unclear if they want him or not. I am not aware of Liverpool having turned their attention to him - but he is available. If they have then I would assume interest in Matip has gone.}

06 Jan 2016 20:58:01
What's your thoughts on him ed2?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Inter don't see The Frog as good enough for them although Norwich and Bologna do think he would be a good addition. Inter have constantly requested him to stop trying to dribble out of defence. For me I would put him behind Matip who is himself a far from elegant player. Subotic is available and would, in my view, be a far better option.}

06 Jan 2016 21:29:26
ED002

Your football knowledge is frightening.

Agree6 Disagree3

06 Jan 2016 22:06:45
From what I've heard it's not good I hope we stay clear! Matip is at least younger and may improve, I fear rannochia will be too easy an option of inter are so ready to sell! Random question by why do Italy allow so many subs?! Can't tell if it's a good thing or bad!

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jan 2016 22:16:41
Ed002, if only you were responsible for our transfer dealings and Ed001 for coaching where would Liverpool be right now :)

Agree2 Disagree4

06 Jan 2016 22:32:32
Again for ed2, if possible.
Does subotic look likely or is that just opinion?
What's your view on llori? Seems to be one of the major talking points again.

Agree0 Disagree3

{Ed002's Note - I am not going to get in to using words like "likely". Dortmund will be willing to let Neven Subotic, who has been of interest to Spartak Moscow and Arsenal, leave in January. I suspect the interest of Arsenal has moved on but I would not rule out an offer being made by either Hannover or Liverpool in January. He will be avialable at a good price and he is a player who Klopp has worked with at his two previous clubs.}

06 Jan 2016 22:55:08
Where linked with a loan for Subotic is the a possibility based on what Dortmund want.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I don't know if they would want a loan with him returning in the summer.}

06 Jan 2016 17:38:15
We're now being linked with Andrea Rannochia, the former Inter skipper and CB, who has been getting less playing time under Mancini.

No idea if the links are true and I haven't seen much of him. He's 6'5, so presumably could help our back line some much needed height on those crosses.

I have a pal who's an inter fan, regularly fly's to home games and he just told me he would pay for his flight >.

06 Jan 2016 18:34:38
Yeah I've heard he's not been great for them to say the least.

Agree2 Disagree5

06 Jan 2016 18:59:32
I really trust Klopp though, let's face it if he was holding there defence together and star man each week we wouldn't be able to afford him let alone Inter willing to let him go. Bergkamp sat on inters bench before the Arse bought him so who knows. If Klopp wants him ill back him :)

Agree5 Disagree4

06 Jan 2016 19:38:23
He was also their captain. You don't get handed the armband for nothing. I've read we are looking for loan to buy.

Agree1 Disagree4

06 Jan 2016 21:02:51
His form has dipped this year, but he started regularly for Inter last year and has 20 caps with The Azzurri since 2010.

Agree2 Disagree0

06 Jan 2016 22:43:54
He was captain when they were struggling in mid table in a poor Italian league. He is supposed to have good leadership skills, which we do need, but isn't the quality we should be aiming for. A loan to buy would be best if we had to go for him.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jan 2016 08:24:45
Italians don't put as much importance in the role of captain.
I would say that is no indicator of ability.

Marko Grujic is officially confirmed and will be immediately loaned back to Belgrade until the end of the season.

06 Jan 2016 14:04:32
Can anyone confirm if Ilori has returned from his loan?

Believable4 Unbelievable0

06 Jan 2016 15:37:51
Question for the eds kind of related. I guess when a player goes on loan, they are expected to at least get a couple games. If villa don't cancel the loan can Liverpool recall him without incurring a charge because the player has not featured at all.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - It is not as simple as that - he is on a loan to buy deal.}

06 Jan 2016 18:44:08
It's already been disclosed in the media that there is no recall clause in the contract due to it being a loan to buy contract. Aston Villa would have to be the ones to cancel the loan of their own accord.

Regardless if he has played or not Aston villa could always keep him until the summer, exercise the purchase clause and then look to sell, presumably at a profit. However, this would likely depend on the agreed purchase price, potential sell on price and possible interest in Ilori.

Also bare in mind Ilori hasn't been able to get into the Aston villa team under two different managers when all he's competing against is Richards and lescott. As much as I would like to blame Rogers for "brendaning" him, maybe he just isn't up to scratch and isn't the answer anyway?

Agree0 Disagree5

{Ed001's Note - he couldn't get in ahead of two players who the club had been desperate to sign and made bad deals to get them. It is no indication of his potential or current ability.}

06 Jan 2016 20:20:36
Who's the two players Ed?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - Lescott and Richards. The pair of them have been given stupid deals that do no good for Villa and neither are any good. They have Okore, who is far better than those two put together, who also can't get in the side.}

06 Jan 2016 20:55:55
Them two for me are past their prime. Thanks for the reply Ed.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Jan 2016 00:31:03
Why did they bother with the loan to buy if they had Richards and lescott on these deals? He was quite late in the window wasn't he so I presume they knew?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - no idea mate. They are a shambles.}

06 Jan 2016 14:04:01
Reports coming out that Rannochia of inter is about to sign. Not sure on validity and never seen him play.

Anyone know anything about him?

Believable4 Unbelievable5

06 Jan 2016 15:32:44
For you Jonesred. 27 yr old CB and former Inter captain. Decent goals and assists record for a defender but has been injured and has lost his place in the team, mostly coming from off the bench this season.

Only a few centre backs in Italy that stand out to me. The most realistic of which is Kamil Glik. But I've asked previously and we simply are not interested. Defenders to watch out for are Subotic, Matip and Guerreiro. Ed002 mentioned a young lad from Hoffenheim as well but his name escapes me. Sule perhaps?

Agree0 Disagree4

{Ed002's Note - Sule is one to look out for but he is not one Liverpool has been looking to (rather surprisingly in my view). There is sustained interest in him from elsewhere in the EPL.}

06 Jan 2016 19:38:37
I know youtube isn't ideal to judge a player but he looks quality. Fast strong skillful and a good header. Depends on fee and how serious his injuries have been i say deffo.
Andy.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jan 2016 23:42:54
Ed002 you are spot on about your views of Sule. He is a dominant defender who also shows composure in almost every situation. Personally, I think it would be easy to take him from Hoffenheim in January or the Summer because they seem doomed for relegation. His price will only decrease if they are relagated. It surprises me that we have shown no interest in him as he would be an ideal partner to Sakho.

06 Jan 2016 13:00:14
Eds have we signed Kamil Grabara the young GK from Poland?

Thanks.

How's this for a rumour lads, listening to smooth fm in Melbourne Australia, and there sports reporter has come on and said that Pierre Aubameyang didn't attend training today (Tuesday) as he was watching the league cup final with Liverpool representatives as they are trying to get a deal done.

I honestly nearly pee'd myself from laughter, there may be the tiniest little bit of chance we could sign him but I seriously doubt it. But to say he missed training because of his impending transfer to LFC had me cracking up. I'm telling u lads some of the stuff reported here is proper mental.

Believable2 Unbelievable15

06 Jan 2016 08:03:31
We can't afford him unfortunately. €60m is the asking price so very few teams could.

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Jan 2016 08:44:34
No doubt, I only posted it because it was utter tripe, seriously when it comes to football those chosen to report on it here have no idea, utterly clueless. There was one mentioned a week or so ago that Arsenal we're bringing in Neymar, Bale and another high profile player and that Guardeola was to be manager by the end of Jan.

Agree1 Disagree3

06 Jan 2016 09:23:26
Damn. If he doesn't sign ill have to remove his name from my jersey.

06 Jan 2016 10:11:34
I cannot believe you would admit to listening to smooth fm.

{Ed023's Note - I thought he should of switched off when the reporter said League Cup FINAL}

06 Jan 2016 11:35:07
Funnily enough, someone who went to the game last night said it seemed common knowledge amongst the fans.
Thought it was nonsense myself.

Agree1 Disagree1

06 Jan 2016 12:34:25
Ed023 with the time difference between England and Melbourne we may already be in the final.

Agree4 Disagree0

{Ed023's Note - Spoiler, we win on penalties says my source :D}

06 Jan 2016 13:52:03
G'day Bruce. No such time difference here in sunny Helens Bay. Anyway, me source Sheila says Jurgen Klopp will be the next LFC Manager.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Jan 2016 09:43:22
King, not a lot of choice where I am, but it's deff better than most of the other rubbish played here.

Ed023, it had me in stitches mate, though I shouldn't laugh as it's the accepted standard of football knowledge here. I honestly believe not a single reporter or what they try to pass off as pundits don't have a clue about the game and do little to no research on it. They really could have a good league with decent support but the way the FFA and the media treat the game it will never be what it can be.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed023's Note - Cricket, rugby, Aussie rules surely ahead in the pecking order which is understandable.. Just stick with this site for the info and you be doing fine ;)}
