Good Afternoon Eds,

Yesterday I saw a brief mention in an article elsewhere that Liverpool may be interested in Vinicius Jr. I used the search engine and found your only mentions of him related to the difficulty he's had at Madrid and how if Madrid were looking at Mane, it would be as a replacement for Vinicius.

Out of curiosity, does Liverpool have any interest in Vinicius Jr.? I know he's had a tough time at Madrid, but I do believe he is very talented.

Thanks!

{Ed002's Note - Vinicius Jr (LW) It has not been working out well for the player in Spain and Wolves have shown an interest in him but he would only be a second string to Diego Jota - and the asking price (circa €60M - although they may accept less) is seen as high (although they have quoted €80M to one English side who asked about him before). Arsenal have been approached but with Saka emerging on the left it is the issue of Pepe on the right and Aubameyangadingdong in the centre or left that needs the most consideration - but he shares and agent with Martinelli so there may be a discussion but Arsenal do not have the money to buy him. Chelsea have also been approached as he would provide an option to Hudson-Odoi on the left allowing Pulisic to move to his more natural right side. Others have been approached, and that will include Liverpool, PSG and Borussia Dortmund, but none would be in a position to look for more than a loan and Real Madrid need players gone to continue their rebuild. Real Madrid are taking the stance that they want him to stay and will not listen to offers - particularly loan offers. They think he will settle and the goals will come.}

Oliver Mintzlaff, RBL CEO, just confirmed no deal, has yet been agreed between RBL and Chelsea, nothing is signed, nor has any clause been activated.

ed002 with Werner having an exit clause if Chelsea have spoken to him or his agent is and agreed a contract before speaking to the club is it still a form of taping up or just finding out if it is worth making an offer with the fee all ready sorted out. Ps ed am not saying they are taping him up it just seems with that clause it does not seem as important not like the VVD thing.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Chelsea spoke with his agent and then approached RBL. They have made an offer which RBL has accepted and the lawyer working for Chelsea is dealing with the paperwork.}

Ed002 you mentioned Marco Asensio of Real Madrid being available. what teams do you know of that are interested in him? When he burst on the seen as a youngster he looked like the next big thing in Spain. just curious if you know what's happened to him since?

{Ed002's Note - He has had a serious ACL injury which has kept him out, so right now, none.}

Hi Ed's,

First time poster.

With the werner saga looking over. There have been some names floated around for alternatives.

First Aubameyang is running down his contract at the minute. Could be a very cheap option but highly doubt we have any interest in him.

Osimhen, we have seen his name floating around for a while and his agent has mentioned us being interested in him but no decision until after his dads burial.

I have seen Marcus Thurams name been thrown in aswell. His stats look good for a young talent that would learn a lot from the current front three.

I have heard depay being mentioned again as another running their contract down and may be available for cheap.

Are any of the above even remotely likely to have interest from us?

Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - (a) Liverpool have no interest in Aubameyangadingdong. (b) Victor Osimhen (S/F) One particular Liverpool scout is really pressing for the club to sign him. Barcelona have also shown an interest, but they have a financial issue to solve first - he only joined in the summer and Lille resisted all January approaches - and it is hard to see why the player would consider a career on the bench at any club. Spurs and Manchester United have looked at him and spoken with his agent. A senior Chelsea scout has also been watching the player who could be seen as an option to their primary striker targets. The interest of these sides prompted Real Madrid to attend two Lille games and they will likely have him on a list somewhere as an option. There was serious interest from Arsenal when he was much younger, but he opted for Wolfsburg. Another one not to lose sight of as he is doing well this season and could be available in the summer. I know nothing of any bid but Lille will want a premium price. Would want assurances as a starter. (c) Thuram's agent is in discussions with another club over the player. (d) Memphis Depay (F) In 2019 Depay said “I want a new transfer to a top club this summer. Lyon is a big club but it’s not one of the five best in Europe, I want to go to a club like Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea, Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain or Bayern Munich. I want to go to a club which suits me. To a team which really wants to play football. I’m not even half-way through what I want to achieve.” All incredibly immature and disrespectful. Milan and Lazio are possible destinations.}

Is Thuram’s agent Mino Raioli? That would be cause for concern in itself. As for Osimhen, Lille want at least as much as they got for Pepe and given his age and lack of top flight experience that’s a rip off all day long. Not to mention he really should get some more mileage on the clock at Lille.

{Ed002's Note - Why would that be a concern.}

06 Jun 2020 15:16:16
It seems like trouble follows him, and their is this perception that his main motivation is agitating for his clients to move so he can get a percentage of another huge transfer fee.

So Depay wants to be at one of the five best clubs in Europe and then goes on to mention the six teams he wants.

Eds Are there any plans for backup for Robbo?

Is Yasser the planned backup.

{Ed002's Note - I don't see it as a priority. I expect Adam Lewis to be sent out on loan again. A decision needs to be made about Anderson Arroyo who has been on loan in the Czech Republic - the issue is that he will never become Home Grown now but Liverpool might consider him as an option as he is still under 21. Joe Gomez and Yasser Larouci can provide cover - even Milner if required.}

Marko Grujic and Xerdian Shaqiri are expected to be sold this summer, and the funds are to be used towards an attempt to get Werner.

Klopp really wants him and apparently there's been a lot of tantrums going on behind closed doors, he's basically demanding him.

Don't shoot the messenger, but it might not yet be done and dusted to chelsea.

I think Ed002 has already stated that inter tried to also bid for Werner after Chelsea but was rejected as they had accepted Chelsea's offer which was now at lawyer level. So with that I do not expect us to bid.

I just don't see us matching the 200k wage for a player who plays a position that we don't particularly need a play for at the moment.

It only makes sense if one of the front three go.

You don't need to match the salary if the player wants to play for you, it's that simple, if he is money driven and accepts a deal with chelsea over Liverpool because of the wage increase, then it's not a huge loss.
