Ed could you please tell me whether Tom Ince is on loan to Blackpool? I mean I know it's only fleetwood but he doesn't look like a bad player.
Cheers
Scouserlewy {Ed002's Note - No, not on loan.}

Was at the game today we smashed the cod heads he is a good player but would never have got into liverpool's starting eleven.
JJ blackpool

Sold, think his dad was trying to get him more money than he was worth

He was part of the Charlie Adam deal

As everyone knows by now that McLeish denied all the rumors about Bent by claiming that he himself talked to Kenny about the transfer. SO NO MORE BENT RUMORS PLEASE!

Junior Hoilet is a possibility after being left out from the squad today (it also could be that he is injured at this moment). Spurs are also interested. There are evenvreports that Blackburn and LFC already started negotiating about the transfer! However Blackburn are planning to let Hoilet walk for free for the summer.

Scott Sinclair is also on LFC's target but there is a lot of questions about him. No doubt that he is a great prospect though.

Luuk De Jong was a strong candidate before Steve McClaren joined Twente. It will be hard for his transfer now.

Lazio will allow Zarate on loan to LFC if LFC agrees that LFC will buy him in the summer. The full transfer is the stumbling block for LFC because he is expensive.

Finally, another player to add to LFC's long list of transfer target is Jackson Martinez. I have absolutely nothing about him. If he is cheap then why not?

That is basically it for today.

Thanks for copying someone on twitter, really appreciated.

Welliton?

Have read through all posts and cant believe no one has talked about Kadlec of Sparta or Hummels at Dortmund!!

2 areas we desperately need cover and 2 great players we could get at a nice price

Of all the rumours on here, the Hoilett one makes the most sense. Quick, athletic, nice touch and can score goals. Not to mention premier league proven, young and most likely under 10 million. Being a Canadian myself, I would love to see Hoilett don the Liverpool red. He isn't Hazard or Higuain, but he is a significant upgrade on Kuyt, and will add a new dimension to the attack, at a reasonable price. Hope this rumour has some teeth.

Totally agree coop

Umm Keisuke honda is way better and only for 8 million.

Honda for 8 million? Maybe last year, and even then the price was only speculation. One of the Eds said he is valued at 25 million now. But yes, I would choose Honda over Hoilett. Haven't heard any rumours about him in a year though. {Ed002's Note - Liverpool were very interested at one time but may have blown their chance of Honda last January when he was available for about £8M. During the mid-season in Russia, Wolfsburg and Juventus were interested in Honda but the player said he wanted to move to Spain and the 25M euro asking price put them off. Recent enquiries for the player have been from PSG (who have offered something in the region of £12M), Sevilla and Palermo but given the player has been out injured much of the time since September and I am not so sure CSKA will want to sell just yet. If he does move now I would say PSG are the most likely option or perhaps the Iberian peninsula. Thoughts about a move to Arsenal come up occasionally as well.}

Nathen Dyer will be signed ;-)

07 Jan 2012 22:49:45
Hi ed's, I've just been reading around and heard about a possible deal for Wellington Silva, the Brazillian striker, he is young and a great finisher, any thruth to it? {Ed002's Note - Not that we know of.}

He is signed for arsenal out on loan visa issues

07 Jan 2012 22:41:09
Hi ed, absolutely addicted to this site it's GREAT!

Was there ever any truth in Torres being at melwood, do you think he will come back?
{Ed002's Note - He won't be returning.}

I would have him back!

Only for under $20 mil.

07 Jan 2012 22:28:30
Eds, have heard tonight that liverpool are extremely interested in signing tim krul from newcastle. probably not at the moment but maybe in summer as reina is looking at possibly moving back to spain. Hes had a decent season and i suppose looking at and monitoring a young keeper is going to happen at some stage. Anything from your end on this? {Ed002's Note - Nothing.}

Would rather go for hugo lloris myself,etablished international keeper,would be a perfect replacement :)

Sky Sports says Aston Villa manager Alex McLeish says he has been told by Liverpool counterpart Kenny Dalglish the Reds are not interested in signing Darren Bent.

McLeish was speaking after watching his side reach the fourth round of the FA Cup with a 3-1 victory at Bristol Rovers.

England striker Bent, 27, who joined Villa from Sunderland a year ago, has been linked with a move away, with Liverpool reportedly among the favourites, and he played in Saturday night's win at the Memorial Stadium.

So once again macca has smashed it with 100% accurate information I now hope that shuts all u clowns up who always contradict him

LFCHero :)!

07 Jan 2012 22:20:58
Alex Mcleish has come out said that Kenny has personally said to him that he isn't interested in Darren Bent. So unless this is a cover up, we can most likely put this whole saga to bed.

Didn't Slur Alex come out and say Ronaldo was definitely not joining Real Madrid and then a week later, he was off?

Evening all,

I am hearing that Hoilett and Sinclair Deals Close! Ed's you getting any info relating to this?

Thanks As Always

Jamie "Ed002 Fan" lol

{Ed002's Note - I am not hearing these things at present.}

Hi everyone,

just heard a few rumours I thought I'd share. apparently were in talks with Blackburn over junior hoillett and also with Swansea over Scott Sinclair. two decent prospects in my opinion. we just have to wait! YNWA

Hope its not rue about Sinclair. Very Average. Dyer is a better winger than him

Just read on RAWK you mean. Yawn.

Just read a quote from Alex Mcleish on the Sky Sports website, he says he spoke to Dalglish who confirmed we are not interested in signing Bent. Hopefully this will put an end to all the Bent questions.

But we sadly know it won't......

According to Damien Comolli, Liverpool are giving a one week trial to two under 15 players. The first player is Rafael Hageslag, a Dutch u15 who plays for Ajax's youth team. And the second player is Ben Jones, who is nicknamed 'Big' Ben Jones because of his 6ft 8inch standing height, who plays the Huddersfield youth team.

A 6'8 15 year old?? That's a terrifying thought!

Hi Ed's

Kuyt has fallen out of favour at Anfield and to be honest he has been very poor when he has played this season.

Are there any clubs interested in him at the moment? {Ed001's Note - yes there is interest from a couple of Serie A clubs.}

Inter are interested, though they will not go higher than 2.5m from what I was told.

Rewflo

£2.5m is a rip-off. What are we waiting for. Sell, sell, sell! If someone would just pay his wages i'd be shocked, never mind a fee.

With all the recent talk about strikers, it might be worth noting that Joe Cole has just completed a hattrick for Lille in a 0-5 victory against Chantilly. Maybe he could come back and bring his friend Eden Hazard, who also scored.
Northern Git

More likley it could help us secure the services of their team mate Moussa Sow for a good price. Cole is not coming back and Hazard is not going to LFC but Sow is a strong candadite given his all round attacking qualities, avialability and eagerness to play in England.

Did he get his laces on it?

07 Jan 2012 21:19:48
according to a little dickie bird i know in the newcastle area( how true i don t know).....

but apparently we have been sending scouts to the sports direct to keep tabs on williamson

like i say how true i don t know

any one clarify?

red chopper

Take out the 'ie'..... and take out the bird

Tiote, krull, ba and now this lad, why not just be done with it and buy Newcastle ? None of them are coming to us. The Zarate story makes sense for both parties, a loan then buy him depending on a top 4 finish and his performances. I think we might go for Adam johnson depending on man citys attempt to buy Di Maria. JR

breaking news just on bbc1 20 year old man from aintree been arrested on racially aggravated crime . being interviewed by detectives .

When they interrupted the programme the women said we have two breaking stories the one above she said first . the second one was a shooting in wycombe . surely the shooting should of been first i wonder why.

A poor fellows fighting for his life and they put our report first . shows ye how much they love our club .

Ed, any reaction from lfc? what would their punishment to the fan be if found guilty i.e ban him from all liverpool matches? If so very hypocritcal from liverpool since they backed suarez to the hilt when it was proved he had said racist words to Suarez..
Was good to see oppo platers in Kuyt and Gerrard show some care for our player Adeyemi. {Ed002's Note - I would not want to get in to any discussion about hypocracy but I am sure if found guilty Liverpool will look to give him a life ban. As for a court, I suspect he will be charged with a civil order offence and if found guilty he can be fined up to a maximum of £2,500 I recall.}

We need this person like a hole in the head. Hope they ban him for life. Hopefully deter anyone else who thinks that backing Luis involves creating an us and them situation with black players. We need to nip this in the bud. Everyone knows that Evra is an untrustworthy, snivelling tosser, but that's nothing to do with him being black. I fear a backlash along the lines of race by some fans, and the Liverpool hating media would just love it. Lets not give them the opportunity.

David

What about Marco Bueno?
Will he be signing this window?
too young?
no interest?

Hi Eds, just to say thanks a lot for all the hard work you guys put in on the site, doesn't seem fair to me when people give you grief.
Thanks. {Ed002's Note - You are very sweet. You have signed up for the Ed002 Appreciation Society I hope: www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=318376138408&ref=ts#!/pages/Ed002-Appreciation-Society/295138177203666}

Hi Eds

Just wondered what would be our chances of a double swoop for Honda and Kawagawa ( sorry if spelt wrong )

I am a real big fan of Honda and think he is a Liverpool type of player , not seen that much of Kawagawa but looks a neat and tidy player with a creative touch.
Just wondered if we got both if it would help them settle quicker ? would certainly add some creativity to the squad
Regards

Big Bob {Ed002's Note - I would say miniscule.}

I think youre being generous. Kagawa wont be going anywhere until the summer.

i know youtube isnt the greatest way to judge a player but that jackson martinez looks absolutely sh-t hot, would love us to sign him, highly unlikely tho, but i love south american forwards, very classy
jaydee

Thing is though, not many people put videos on of players performing badly so most of the videos are kind of a biased view. Little bits and bobs can make the most average of players look fantastic.

I remember just how good Ryan Babel looked on you tube when we signed him, the next thierry henry... or so it seemed.

07 Jan 2012 20:56:07
ed do you know if olivier giroud will be moving in january and would he be of any intrest to us cheers! {Ed002's Note - It was expected that Giroud would stay within France with a move to PSG but performances this season have seen Valencia, Newcastle, Villarreal, Arsenal and particularly Malaga show an interest. Nicollin discussed the interest in the player saying Newcastle were too minor a club and Arsenal would have to pay 50M euros, if not 60M euros for the player.}

07 Jan 2012 20:51:24
Thanks for the reply to my Bojan post ED002,with regards to your reply is it a common tactic with Barcelona now that they want buy back clauses in tranfers for players?do you see this being more and more common football with larger clubs across europe?

PM {Ed002's Note - It is a common tactic with Barcelona. Most clubs cannot afford to make such provisions - basically they are loaning players out for experience with a get out clause if they do not perform.}

07 Jan 2012 20:47:39
Hi ed's,
lfc are in negotiations with brfc over Hoilett. lfc also in negotiations Monday over a player. Believed to be Sinclair, don't know if true just thought I would pass on info.
Thanks
YNWA.

07 Jan 2012 20:30:57
Has Comolli met with Hoilett or Reps from Blackburn regarding Hoilett ed?

Corkpoolred {Ed002's Note - I have said I have no news on Liverpool and Hoilett at this time.}

07 Jan 2012 20:05:18
We have had a bid accepted for Hoilett.

T

I certainly hope we do bid and it is excepted as this guy is very quick, strong and skillfull and has a good eye for a pass....
Village

Hope its not true, he has 3 goals and 4 assists in 16 prem games this season. I think we know we are desperate for a potent attacker and not more of what we already have.

/jay

Looks like this is a done deal Ed.

Jay have you seen the team hes been playing for?

He's second highest successful dribbler in the prem... Goals and assists are not everything when you can break through a team with decent dribbling...
T

We already have one winger who completes a lot of dribbles but never assists or scores.

Hope its not true, he has 3 goals and 4 assists in 16 prem games this season. I think we know we are desperate for a potent attacker and not more of what we already have.

That's 4 goals and 4 assists more than most of our players this season...

EDs have LFC shown any interest in Jarvis from Wolves or its a long shot Bojan?great player but I know he's only joined Roma this season.

Hi ed's just a quick question who are we likely to sign this window if we do sign anyone?
Thanks. {Ed002's Note - You have to read the posts.}

07 Jan 2012 19:25:49
ed do you think we will get jackson martinz,he looks like a decent striker and for only 8.5 million sounds like a bargain to be fair..

a yes or no answer would be pleased :)

tonkz {Ed002's Note - No.}

Dont be like that Ed.. Take peoples questions seriously {Ed002's Note - What sort of cretin are you? I was asked a simple question and for a yes or no answer which is what I gave. What in that made you dribble over your keyboard?}

Message for Ben Hughes YNWA,

I'm home briefly from my trip to Italy (heading back out there tomorrow).

The people that I know in Milan and Florence, couldnt say with a high level of certainty where Ramirez would end up. I know he definitely wont end up at Fiorentina or Milan anyway. However my sources at both clubs both felt that Juventus was a likely destination.

Sorry I couldnt get any more, I dont think he will be coming to Liverpool and I'm sure the eds will say the same. If I hear anything else mate I'll post it.

Rewflo

The thing is with Juventus is that they literally appear to throw their name into the hat for every player so something has got to give, they won't sign them all but I feel Ramirez will end up there.

You dont have a phone to sms your buddy?

If you meant the message for Ben Hughes then no I dont. He asked me a question about Ramirez last week and I said I would find out as I was going to italy.

If you mean for the people I know in italy of course I have a phone its not 1985. As I said though I'm heading back and in the day that I have been gone I doubt anything would have happened that would warrant a text right now.

Rewflo

Cheers nice one,

ed is there interest in krasic?

is there going to be a PSG rumours site opening soon since they are set to become a major force in world football?

wafa {Ed002's Note - Juventus will be open to good offers for Krasic at some point but it is unclear if the likes of Manchester City, Malaga and Roma are still interested in a player who has not taken well to sitting on the sidelines. Krasic has declared his interest in Manchester United and it is not out of the question that they may be interested in him. There is at least one very influential person at Chelsea who very much likes the player and wishes to revisit earlier interest and discussions have taken plave between the clubs with view to a loan move. Borussia Dortmund, Zenit St Petersburg and Anzhi Makhachkala are also interested and a bid will be certainly made by Bayern Munich. I don't think we have the traffic in respect of PSG.}

Do you not read your own posts? According to your last one Krasic is heading to Anzhi you muppet. {Ed002's Note - What are you talking about?}

07 Jan 2012 18:03:30
LFC interested in Balazs Dsusdzak and Samir Nasri to fill right-wing position with Anzhi set to sign Krasic and Man City set to sign Ribery...

Wafa

Both only moved in summer so bs

As if nasri would be leaving city after signig for them in the summer. get real and only post some viable information

Nasri was a joke right?

RenegadeRed

Are Liverpool gonna match Nasri's £140k a week wages too and risk upsetting Stevie G & Luis Suarez who earn considerably less? Don't think so somehow, let's get real.

Than gerrard will be heading towards man u

Balazs Dsusdzak is a Left winger, has a cracking left foot mind you.

07 Jan 2012 17:50:55
Some really poor attempts at being someone in the know on here, even though its a great site to look at possible transfers etc........
Not a rumour from someone in the know...ahem...but i have heard a few things that point towards Bent NOT signing and Andy Carroll being given a fair crack at the job......Also heard were far more interested in a real winger and an attacking midfielder than we are a centre forward,
Its anybodys guess at the moment but SOMEONE will be coming in to bolster the squad and i think more than a few of us will be disappointed when its not a so called worldy....The Guv.

Why bent anyway
give carroll a chance

We do not want Bent - not good enough

07 Jan 2012 17:21:14
Liverpool insider - Kenny Dalglish to meet Darren Bent at John Lennon Airport at 6pm ahead of liverpool medical. {Ed002's Note - Bent is playing for Aston Villa in Bristol this evening. Looks like Kenny will be stood up.}

Bent rumours finally been proven wrong, Liverpool won't be buying him, won't be able to use him in FA cup and Carling, so pointless buy atm.

Why post such rubbish?

Lol, that is one priceless rumour! Daft statements like that is what makes this website so cool!

, what an idiot, surely you'd check a team line up before making yourself look a total prat ! are you sure you weren't at anfield last night standing up abusing people, i heard he was a total person as well

Dont you just look stupid lol

What a sad plonker

LOL ...what a reply ED :D :D ..hilarious

This is actually quite hilarious. why write such nonsense!
Dale B

I think he meant Dalglish was meeting John Lennon at Darren Bent airport tonight. That's more believable, so don't be too harsh.
Rigsby.

Seen kenny in john Lennon airport holding some flowers and a box of chocolates. After a while he binned them and walked away with a tear in his eye. This explains it.

Well Kenny could be meeting the spectre of Darren Bent, what a scary poster!

Kenny to help Bent go shopping at JLA during the game.

07 Jan 2012 17:19:20
ED's, where exactly did this Darren Bent rumour come from ? In your honest opinion, is he being looked at or lined up for a move to Anfield ?

I know tis question has been asked and answered, but who are we likely to see come to the club, what is your feeling on stuff you know or have been told ?

I can't believe KD is seriously looking @ Bent, i know he's English and scores a few goals here and there, but seriously, in a Liverpool shirt ?

You see so much crap on this forum it's laughable at times and the people who post it ought to be ashamed. Why make up stuff, and at times stupid stuff

I've always said, only info from the ED's is going to be anygood so i don't know why the people on here take notice and answer to the rubbish

Great site BTW, keep it up {Ed002's Note - I have no idea the origin of the Bent rumour and I really know of no interest from Liverpool. Many rumours arrive out of speculation, blogs and the over imaginative minds of folks running football websites. I will stick by my original contention that there will not be much traffic in and out this winter with replacements for long-term injuries where cover does not exist, those leaving and obvious short comings being the the likely inbound traffic. I am by no means sure any one will leave right now. But I caveat everything with the thought that the owners may force certain changes to happen in the light of recent issues.}

Ed002 is that to say the owners might force KK's hand over Suarez and sell him, interesting point if that was what you were implicating! {Ed002's Note - I don't know what the owners are planning on but they must protect FSG and the club sponsors. There has been some fractious publicity in the States and they must at the very least tread very carefully.}

Then they should sell LFC, because if they sell Suarez the club are finished as a club. Just see how much support they will have then. They are racists at MUFC & their racists friends in the media will have won, & they won't stop there either. It will almost be as good as having Hodgons back at the club for these people. {Ed002's Note - Suarez has been at the club less than a year. He is not bigger than the club as you suggest. As for your racist suggestions they are utter nonsense and demonstrate a complete lack of understand of recent issues and how serious they are.}

Refreshingly excellent points by the poster above!

If Luis is forced out, its pretty clear that NESV were more to blame than anybody.
These people simply CAN'T be trusted.
Luis is a jewel of a player and a good man too.
And all this "no-one is bigger than the club"? Does that mean "sell the 2 or 3 remaining stars and replace em with Bobby Zamora types? FACT - selling clubs win nothing. We were European greats. What are we now? A feeder club? A selling club? A "great brand".
Sayona NESV and Co if you can't show us fans some respect..!

The person who wrote the comment above is a mong, they obviously know nothing about football and is not a fan as he suggests, no player is bigger than the club and thats why we got rid of torres, rush, fowler, owen and we have gone and rebuilt the squad and continued to do well.

This post is a joke surely? What planet are you on? Should luis be sol it is no doubt for the benefit of the club. I'm not talking financially I am talking image wise. Don't under estimate the power of this, without a good club image you can have all the players and be nothing. Our club is not one I want associated with anything but being winners and a good family orientated club. Luis is not racist but the issue is being dragged out and is keeping the issue in the media. The club realised that they simply couldn't appeal as they stood no chance of winning, I will repeat my previous post that you cannot refer to anyone skin ad have any excuse, simple.
I would not want luis to go but if the club feel that this issue will cause to much bad media than they may have no choice. Remember that fsg bought our club and we are back on track, they didn't buy us because they are our biggest fans, they bought us because they are business people and that means doing what is best for their investment.
People really need to leave the luis issue now and move on, how else can we get on with the season without this constantly being and issue.
Sorry about the drivel but some
Of these post are really getting silly.
Andy the red

Rather have riedle, camara and morientes back than bent. they'd cost less, work harder and upset the balance of the sqaud less.

John Henry's puppets some of you lot.
Sometimes I feel ashamed to try and rebuild this club.
You won't be happy til we're in League Div 1, and Woy Hodgson is back.
Tom Hicks must be thinking "even I didn't think they were this gullible".
Proper clubs keep stars, and BUY MORE stars.
Is this a Liverpool forum orLeicester City?
Sad, sad times when a football club loses its pride..
Grow some backbone!

Are you an idiot? Regardless of suarez's intentions he did use racist language, whether meant as an insult or not. There is irreputable damage being done to our club at the moment and the sponsors will take note and pressure the club to take action. No one is bigger than LFC. NO ONE.

With "fans" like you, who needs enemies.
Luis isn't guilty, he was speaking Uruguayan Spanish and was getting abuse from that lying rat Evra.
You're not a Red, you're a xxxxstirring Manc-chester fan.. Or a NESV puppet trying to brainwash the fans into accepting the start of the asset stripping process.
Luis has the OVERWHELMING support of Kenny, the players and fans. Only the liars and parasites in football are persecuting him. Take that back to Manchester/ Boston..

The owners will do what is best for the club and the player. However, even if we do sell suarez for a decent fee, the problem is that we are not going to attract any top players because we aren't in the champions league. Plus we either can't seem to afford or wont give in to the top players wage demands, especially when u have clubs like psg, man city, real madrid etc throwing money around.

Before u start saying that the clubs name and history should be attractive enough, I agree BUT in these days, money talks and to be honest, our history has not won us the premier league yet!

Personally I would really like us to sign Junior Hoilett, whenever I have seen him play have always been impressed. Ed, what teams do you know are in for him?

Thanks {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any interest from Liverpool in Hoilett at this time. Spurs, Newcastle, Stoke and possibly Aston Villa and QPR have been interested - plus a couple of clubs from Germany.}

Just out of interest ed002, with Liverpool supposedly keeping everything under tabs, would you know if they had an interest? Just wondering. Thanks

BW {Ed001's Note - Blackburn are not so good at keeping things under wraps, especially as they are trying to stir up more interest in order to raise the price. They would be happy to make it known if another club joined the bidding, it would be in their interest.}

Hoilett sounds like a good signing for us a lfc kind of player
if you know what i mean

Hi Eds. Everton will be desperate for money and Ross Barkley has not played a lot for him lately. Are we at least interested in him at the minute?

John S {Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware.}

Hes out with a knee injury

Ross Barkley singed a new contract last month mate. Which could probably mean nothing, if the price is right.

Think he's injured so that's why he hasn't been playing

Ed not a rumour but will Weilliton will get a work permit if Liverpool (or any other club in England ) is interested {Ed002's Note - Apparently Arsenal established that he had been playing in Europe for long enough at a high level such that it would not be an issue.}

Eds, what do you think the chances of us securing the signature of a big name is in this window? And I don't mean 26 letters long big name either[aimed at Ed002 and his sarcasm]. {Ed002's Note - A "big name" is subjective of course. Would Bent be a big name if he signed, or are we talking Cavani, Higuain, Ronaldo?}

No more like kygiakos, poulsen and jovanovic

It's more in the region of Cavani, Hazard, Ozil, type names. Not specifically them, but players of similar stature. {Ed002's Note - Then no, not in January.}

A big name? Large - that's a big name. As is Giant.

Do you see it as more likely if we get a CL spot and try in the summer for such targets? {Ed002's Note - Much will depend on getting in to the Champions League and certainly then other options may be available.}

Ed002 is a girl i think? {Ed002's Note - Just let me check.}

Ha epic ed! {Ed001's Note - she will be busy checking for the next few hours no doubt....}

How about
Socratis Papastathopoulos currently on loan at Werder Bremen - quite a "big name"
Scott

Jan Vennegoor of Hessilink perhaps?

Dan

Le Grande that's a big name

Hulk is a big name
Red Greco

Eds, How much would welliton cost cos ive heard it woulf be around 7-11 mill which is cheap for him {Ed002's Note - I have no idea, sorry.}

Red fox

Hoilett yes but bent not so sure about

heard a rumour that hoillet has been left out of the blackburn team because he is in talks with liverpool. I know some people will moan at this post but afterall it is called liverpool RUMOURS {Ed002's Note - I heard it was because he has not fully recovered from a hamstring problem.}

Ye well blackburn would say that wouldn`t they!

alright eds these true?

1) Unsettled Sunderland midfielder Stephane Sessegnon has emerged as a shock target for Liverpool.

2) Top Premier League clubs including Tottenham, Liverpool and Sunderland have been the alerted to the availability of Wigan's Victor Moses, after the winger's agent revealed that talks over a new contract have stalled.

3) Liverpool and Manchester City are facing a showdown over Birmingham's highly rated Nathan Redmond.

4) Liverpool and Arsenal face a major battle with Fiorentina and Borussia Dortmund to sign Spartak Moscow striker Welliton.

5) Liverpool have sealed a deal to sign Aston Villa striker Darren Bent, according to a Mirror journalist.

6) Liverpool are looking into the possibility of loaning Inter Milan forward Mauro Zarate, according to The National.

7) Liverpool have held talks with the representatives of Jaguares striker Jackson Martinez.

I know no.5 will be bulls**t but again are the rest true? {Ed002's Note - I cannot answer questions like have Liverpool "been the alerted to the availability of Wigan's Victor Moses" and opinions and answers have been given in respect of all of these already - read the posts and use the search function please.}

Liverpool are plotting cheeky bids for Demba Ba and Junior Hoillet this January. DembA bA moved to West Ham from 1899 Hoffenheim last January on a pay as you pay deal after failing a medical at Stoke, he scored 7 goals in 12 games for the Hammers in the second half of last season and if he had of been there all year they may have stayed up. Demba Ba was scouted by Kenny and Co. during the summer but unfortunately they decided not to take the risk due to his dodgy knee however no problems have arose and he has been on fire this year scoring 15 goals and setting up another 4 in the league along with a number of man of the match performances , he just won player of the month and at the minute he look's a hell of a lot better value than £35m Andy Carroll{although long term I think he will be worth his weight in gold}.Demba Ba obviously wants to progress to the top and he made sure there was a clause in his West Ham contract that if they dropped out of the top division of English football he could leave for free likewise he has inserted a clause in his contract that should any club above Newcastle that he wishes to join offer £10m then he may leave, so if King Kenny is heading to the African cup of nations this January we know why. Junior Hoillet has not exploded into the Premiership like Ba but this guy is going to be a star, he is young , he is good technically, he is tricky and most importantly for Liverpool he has pace to burn. Hoillet can operate on either wing or as a forward but is best wide right. Hoillet is out of contract in the summer after refusing to sign a new deal and rumour has it that Blackburn will let the 21-year old Canadian leave for £8m. Liverpool have been linked with some huge names such as Hazard{who would be my number 1 choice},Villa,Higuain etc. but at the minute they are not going to join Liverpool and if we can get these 2 for £18m I think you would be hard pushed to find better value anywhere. Galatasary have made a £4m bid for Dirk Kuyt, Liverpool are willing to sell but not unless there £6.2m valuation of the 31-year old is met. Kuyt needs gametime to get himself ready for euro 2012 with Holland and may be willing to leave, I will miss him, he's got a great attitude and has been a fantastic servant to the club but I think the time is right for him to move on. Alberto Aquilani is also expected to be exiting Merseyside when he complete's a permanent £6.7m transfer to AC Milan this January. Long story short Liverpool January transfers out- Dirk Kuyt,Alberto Aquilani in-Demba Ba,Junior Hoillet

Just want to clear something up for the Ed's. Ba's release clause of 10M is for Champions League Clubs ONLY

Yep Kenny is going to the Africa Cup of Nations so he can watch Demba Ba...

Sorry, forgot to mention that we were very impressed with Agudelo during his time training here and Red Bulls have told us he will cost 1.8 million. However, it is understood Thierry Henry has recommended him to Wenger so maybe we should act on this one now. {Ed002's Note - The Red Bulls are not the people who transfers would be discussed with. It needs to be addressed via the MLS.}

How do player ownership and transfers work in the MLS, ed? Being European, I haven't the foggiest.

Cheers {Ed002's Note - All players are contracted centrally by the MLS and have their salary paid by the league and any transfers dealt with by the MLS. Additionally, each club is allowed two designated players that they can pay salary - up to the salary cap being paid by teh MLS and the rest by the club. These designated player slots used to be traded, but that is no longer allowed. Landon Donovan was an allowed exception to the rule as he was with his club before the rule was introduced back in 2007.}

Sorry I am the original poster but surely they would still come up with the valuation? I know that a third of the fee goes to the MLS , a third into the club's academy and then a third to the franchise to further player investment but surely the valuation still comes from the club or as they say franchise? {Ed001's Note - the MLS decides the fee, and we never had him over for anything other than giving the lad experience.}

Cheers Eds!

Just saw Juve have tabled an offer for Fredy Guarin, I noticed he has fallen out of favour at Porto this season. Do we hold an interest eds? {Ed002's Note - Guarin has been of interest to Juventus, Roma and Villareal in recent weeks. Porto do not want to sell any first team players but may listen to offers for fringe players.}

07 jan 2012 15:36:56

Newcastle have offered £8mil for Dirk Kuyt, Liverpool want at least £12mil. Newcastle hope to have a deal tied up by the end of next week. Kuyt been told if Liverpool manage to secure targets in this month then he would be allowed to leave in the summer if not sooner.

Geordie dancer

I would snap there fingers off for 8million....kuyt is way too slow, and his first touch has costed us a lot of points.....he looked slow against Oldham!!!
Kabir

Id take 8million every day of the week

I'd bite anyones hand off with an offer over 4mil. Never been a dirk fan and his performances this year have been poor even by his standards.

Kuyt always gives 120% every game and every time we need a goal Kuyt always delievers

I posted yesterday that I would swap Suarez for higuain.
I got a good few disagrees. Would like to know why?
Higuain is probably the better player, will score more goals,
And will prob play more games.
Suarez has received 3 bans in just over a year and brings a lot of trouble to our club.
As great as he obviously is would higuain not be better for us?

Thoughts please

MIKEY {Ed002's Note - I imagine the disagrees were because Higuain will not be moving to Liverpool in January Mikey.}

You are stupid.

I think suarez is good for the club and will be a different player and person in 7 games time for the better.

LFC1

People disagree with you because your views are your views!!! WHICH ARE NOT FACTS! so my thoughts are your views are stupid

Its simple. While Higuain may be the better finisher he is in no way a better footballer. I wouldn't swap Luis for anyone at this moment.

To be honest both cancel out each other. Where Higuain fails, Suarez passes i.e. Higuain isnt your cup of tea if ur looking at a creative striker because personally he cant create much on himself. Might hate me but i see Higuain as the ultra modified version of Darren Bent. A guy with good pace who has that knack for being in the right place at the right timeand scores on a regular basis.
Suarez on the other hand has that tendency to also be in the right place at right time but he is very very wasteful with his chances. Dreaming i may be but if we get Higuain to play with Suarez then i believe not only will we have solved our striking crisis but i would imagine a 3 man strike force with Suarez and Higuain being the wide strikers with Andy Carroll at the centre being deadly because as usual if Andy doesnt score we can be assured that Suarez will make something happen or Higuain defo will score. The three would be devastating indeed.
Btw, i just wonder why people keep slating Theo Walcott, granted that he is injury prone but so was Daniel Agger, infact i expected him to drop dead or the season about 2-4 games back but he seems to have gotten over it!!. So can Walcott( for me he already has), they say he is all run, u might notice if you watch Arsenal games that he actually does stop but only fails in the department of knowing what kinda cross to provide for the striker, im sure if he worked with Downing, that will improve drastically. His blistering pace was enough to crush Chels**t within what 2-3 mins in that 3-1 win Arsenal had when Walcott and Fabregas scored in successive minutes. I can only imagine Walcott and Bellamy on the flanks or Walcott and Downing as well...

Peace my LFC buddies, Alzonator...

Higuian is a much better finisher, quick on his feet with excellent movement. In addition to this he is a team player, very professional and quiet and is more concerned with team glory than with personal glory, this is the reason he has so many fans within the Madrid hiearchy (including Mourinho).

Suarez is creative and great with the ball at his feet and has a high work rate. I dont feel that he is as much of a team player as Higuain and is certainly not as professional. I dont really think they are comparable to be honest. Suarez is a forward, Higuain is a striker.

Liverpool are in negotiations for hoillett and sinclair. Trust me this is true
Regards,

If this is true, then God help us. More average players who aren't good enough for lfc.

We need more quality both upfront and on the wings, particularly the right. And they must have pace and good technical ability.

For me Roberto soldado should be bought to play alongside bellamy upfront until Suarez is back from his ban, and then what a strike force that would be!

On the right wing, we need someone who can cross the ball for carroll, at the moment downing cant cross a road let alone a ball! The only player that i have seen deliver those types of crosses that a striker would thrive on is stevie g (I refer u to the Newcastle game).

Anyway will still keep the faith but sometimes u need more than faith to success!

The Kop Don

Giving info from stephen1martin twitter account !!!

Not good enough really like but if either maxi or kuyt were to leave i would have hoillet as a replacement on the other hand players who we have signed that have shone for small teams havnt been the same since signing for us like adam

Oh so you would get soldado, just like that? It's that easy? You assume he would want to come and we could afford him? What planet are fans like you on, as if we can buy whoever we want, wen we want. I'm not saying the players we are linked with are the right players but you have to be realistic

Oh dear god!
If this is true, which I doubt, then we are f*cked.

I like hoillett but sinclair has been awful in every game iv seen, Dyer is twice the player

They are more than good enough to play for Liverpool and would be two very good signings. Both young with pace, plenty of skill and room to develop. It will also allow Bellemy & Kuyt to play upfront plus it will give Downing competition on the wings.

Then we can go and get a quality striker for the summer to compete with Bellemy, Carrol and Suarez.

Have the people who are saying "God help us" and "Oh dear god" ever seen either of these two play?

Both are lightening quick and can take the ball past people out wide, something we're severely lacking at the moment. Would probably cost less than 15mil for the pair, too. We could do much worse.

Man unite arsenal hav average players that can work together so stop complaining...good pace on the wings

Hoilett would be a good buy!
Fits the FSG buy policy as well!

PITSILFC

Still disagree. They only look good cos they play for crap teams! But a hare against a tortoise and they are always going to look fast!

Realistically, if lfc really wanted to buy a world class player they probably could but as lfc are effectively a business, u can't just throw money out the window.

Hoilett and Sinclair are ok but nothing that will help us achieve a top 4 position, just look at where their respected clubs are in the league at the moment!

There arent that many players that come in from smaller teams and do well in the big teams.

As a club, lfc have to look at the bigger picture and towards the future but sometimes to look towards the future you have to take action now.

U say if we should get them in but I just don't think they are going to be able to help us push for a top 4 spot. And if we don't get top 4, then come summer, we will be looking at buying potentially more mediocre players as budget wise, it will lower than had we got into the champions league!

Personally, Liverpool are one of the biggest clubs in the world who should be able to attract young top class talent. The cost isn't the issue, it's the quality u r going to get for it, and unfortunately from what I have seen, hoillett and Sinclair aren't going to resolve the issues we have.....simple as!

The Kop Don

Guess where good many good players start "smaller clubs" where they make a name for themselves. I see no reason why hoilett would be a bad signing in your eyes he is young good technically and is fast and training an playing with better players will help him and at 8 million could be a steal. Totenham are also after him apparently and they have an eye for talent

I never said they were bad Players, the point is that I don't think they are what Liverpool needs to get into top 4 to get into the champions league. That is the target that the owners have set after spending over £100m on players since last january. Buying ok players like hoillett and Sinclair is not going to help us push for that top 4 spot, especially when u look at the strength in depth of teams above us like Chelsea, man utd, man city, spurs and possibly arsenal (when they have no injuries).

When u look at our team, in terms of strength in depth, we are no way as strong and until we have that, the champions league spot may just be out of our grasp this season.

hi eds...any truth that we are set to sign jackson martinez ..dont no to much about him myself...does any one no anything about him???? thanks {Ed002's Note - I really don't know if he is to sign or not. Sporting and Porto have shown an interest.}

Thanks for your reply 002

07 Jan 2012 14:05:19
Hi ED do you think there is any possibility of these players:
Lennon, as we are lacking pace and a good right midfielder.
Bent, as we need more pace up top and a clinical finisher.
Gatson Ramierez, he and Suarez together would put fear in any defense.
Cheers ED great work on the site, if were not interested in any of these players, what others could we want?

Corzaaaaa {Ed002's Note - I don't know that Lennon is for sale; Bent is clearly no wanted by most fans and I have said what I know; Whilst Gaston Ramirez has been watched by Liverpool I remain unsure as to how strong the interest is from the club.}

I have a very good friend who lives in russia and he has sent me an e-mail claiming that welliton has started to say goodbye to people in the area as he is moving to a team in the north-west of england. I have looked into welliton and i have relised that he has wanted to move to liverpool for a number of years. Expect it to be 11 million or 6million plus kuyt.

You heard it here first: DogeyDave009

I've heard he is trying to get himself in Russian International team, after his Brazilian career hasn't come to any start. So, may be this one doesn't strike me as likely.

Is the players first name duke

gee man

Well then do u think he might want to come to liverpool then so he can be more in the spotlight for a chance in the brazil national squad

Boot this story into touch see what i did there

I would like this to be true but i doubt he would broadcast to people that he will be moving to the north-east of england

Well Mother Russia is a small place so your mate must be "in the know" I heard he is bound for warmer shores but...

07 Jan 2012 12:51:22
Eds I've read that Coates may move to Everton on loan with the injury to jagielka. Do you think this is possible, it may be very beneficial to the lad. {Ed002's Note - It strikes me as very unlikely.}

Dont want coates cmin back frm loan a s**t player. Lets loan him to a decent side.
Indian Buzzer

I wouldn't mind. The hostility against the bluenoses should stop. It never used to be like this. The real enemies are the Mancs and now most of the English media.

07 Jan 2012 12:32:04
for me these are the realistic targets for now or summer:

mid:ramirez,sissoko,ozil,kagawa,muniain
st:welliton,soldado,de jong,doumbia,sow

there may be more ive forgotton.

about right ed or have we ruled out any of above alltogether.DORSET RED {Ed002's Note - Nobody can tell for the summer but I would suggest the likes of Muniain and Oezil are not realistic at this time.}

07 Jan 2012 12:16:54
Ed what are the chances of us getting Patricio rodriguez of Argentina, great player we need to buy also plays right mid {Ed002's Note - Independiente's Patricio Rodriguez has been hawked around Europe all of this year without much luck. Benfica seems the most likely destination.}

07 Jan 2012 12:11:53
Hi eds, iv just heard that we have made an inquiry about availability Papiss Cissé! Have you heard anything? {Ed002's Note - I know that Bayern Munich have enquired again about Papiss Cisse but it is very quiet on interest from the EPL aside from unsubstantiated Spurs rumours. Things may change and I am sure Freiburg and the player will be open to offers.}

07 Jan 2012 11:15:47
Jackson Martinez set to sign in the next few days.

Davo

News now. Great site for info. Presume thats where you got that. Tell us a real rumour.
kopfiend 1978 ynwa

I don't think he is good enough for us.

Pardon my ignorance but who is Jackson Martinez is he good I've only heard I'd javi pk

Hope this is right, certainly looks the part.

Why is he not good enough? Not all players Ned to cost $30 mil? Have you watched him more than the scouts? Sick of people putting down our own players and now potential targets when they clearly know f all. If you were to say he has a better record than falcao or Hernandez before they made it big what would you have said prior about them? 'not good enough' cos you've not heard of them. Then go and complain about Kenny signing English players who you have heard of.

Get back to the yod page davenport

BW

More chance of jackson two sheds wilson

I agree with the post ^^^why is he not good enough and why is anybody who isn't playing for a big club or a prolific world star not good enough for liverpool fc. we are not in aposition wage wise or leaguewise to be able to tempt every player to our club so live with it. spurs got to where they are by making smaller money signings if you look at their tem how many of their players cost over the 10-15 million barrier ?

07 Jan 2012 11:03:17
Eds if De jong is not coming right now does that mean Soldado is sure deal??or are there any other strikers being looked at as Suarez would be out for a while?? {Ed002's Note - No it does not make Soldado a sure deal. Suarez being out will not change the transfer policy.}

Suarez out for a while? He will be back in 4 weeks...... Our squad should be able to cope with that!

07 Jan 2012 10:45:16
have been working in the mandarin chinese restaurant in victoria street recently...the guy who runs the place told me dc is a frequent visitor ....

anyway dc told him that he is checking out the next up and coming chinese footballing sensation Zhang Chengdong a 22yr old who currently plays for Beira-Mar in portugal..

{Ed002's Note - Did he say how he would get a work permit to play in England?}

Well he's been playing in Portugal since September 2009 so it's quite possible he'd be eligible for a Portuguese passport by the end of this year... {Ed002's Note - You are kidding, right.}

Well he's been playing in Portugal since September 2009 so it's quite possible he'd be eligible for a Portuguese passport by the end of this year... maybe he already is... not sure how many years it is to get a work permit in Portugal {Ed002's Note - A Portuguese work permit is of no consequence whatsoever.}

I would suspect that it was quite reasonable to assume that lfc will have done there homework on this guy..as there is not much point checking out a player who would nt be eligible to play in england in the near future {Ed002's Note - Let me know when he arrives then.}

Believe he has 5 caps for china at the moment...and if he has the potential to be the asian messi....then playing in 70% of china s internatinal matches should not be a problem {Ed002's Note - Sorry, the rules are different for players from lowly ranked teams. You can defend this all you like, just let me know when he arrives.}

He also spent time in italy when he was on the books at ac milan ..so maybe he has a italian passport!!

I'm guessing he means a portuguese passport. Don't think you'd be able to secure one after 2 and a half/3 seasons though.

Rugby Parker

You have to have been living in Portugal for 6 years, without leaving for more then 3 months in order to be eligible for a Portuguese Passport....so he defo hasn't got one, as well as that he probably wouldn't want one, as it might mean giving up his Chinese Residence

Just chinese whispers

So damien commolli suggests transfer targets to anywon does he well in that case im a taxi driver and i picked up kenny dagleish and he said to me that we are interested in signing iniesta from barcelona and have put a bid of 85 million in for him

Inside Story {Ed002's Note - Ba will not be moving to Liverpool because of the medical issues he has.}
--------------

Did ne not "fail" a medical at Stoke, before Alan PArdew stated there were some concerns over his "medical" and these issues which have also surfaced in the past have to be "overcome"
A degenerative knee problem was hinted. (jim22)

Just wanted to know if their is any truth that we are to bid for kawaga next week? Thank Lee {Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware.}

07 Jan 2012 09:49:49
Two things today, just watching sky sports news after Huddersfield Town hammered Wycmobe Wanderers 6-0 with Jordan Rhodes getting five, I think he's an amazing player and maybe Comoli could make a bid as he's only 21 but made 104 apearances for Huddersfield and scoring 60 goals. His career totals are 137 apps at senior level scoring 70 goals overall, (if you don't believe me then look it up) so he'd be a good buy, allthough unprooven at premier league level. Definetely a buy for the future, however, a buy for now - somebody with lots of premier league experience is Demba Ba. It rose in the mail this morning that he has a £10m buy-out clause in his contract at Newcastle which is well within our budget and we're looking for a striker so it seems plausable, what do you think ed(s)?
WATCH THIS SPACE!

Inside Story {Ed002's Note - Ba will not be moving to Liverpool because of the medical issues he has.}

Yeah sure medical issues...Meanwhile he scores for fun each game. And we chase Bent types of players who cost us a fortune and are not as effective as a player who has "medical issues". Bellamy has similar "medical issues" I think?

To be fair they're 2 totally different situations, Ba wouldn't be coming on a free and it's a big gamble for the club if he does have problems

Ignoring the Ba issue as the Ed's have said we are interested due to medical issues the begining of the post regarding Jordan Rhodes is absolutely spot on we need to be looking at this talent as well as the others we have been linked with. Get in there before anyone else and his cost rises.

QuantRed {Ed002's Note -

Antony pilkington played for huddersfield and has adapted well to the pl with norwich. i think jordon rhodes is worth a shot i rekon that most pl strikers would struggle for a record equall to his this season if they were playing league 1

07 Jan 2012 09:29:11
Eds a genuine question do you think carra and kuyt's time at the club is over. I mean rather give jonjo games to develop than play kuyt.Also carra has been a great servent but he just doesnt have the legs anymore I mean we gave them a no. of clearcut chances on goal yesterday fortunately for us they were a league 1 side.
And secondly why are spurs interested in all the players in the world ? {Ed002's Note - As I have said I expect Kuyt to leave in the summer. Carragher will please less as he is older but I don't see him leaving this year.}

What about the second question {Ed002's Note - I am told that there are two players in Uzbekistan Spurs have no interest in.}

Carra will not leave the club until he's a very old and frail, dead even. He will be signed year after year in a player/management role, the day will soon come when he may only play one FA cup tie against cambridge to fill in and add experience. but he'll be involved in every other aspect of the day to day running of the club

You gave us a number of clearcut chances? Nothing to do with them being well worked by us? Typical premier league fan believing that you gave the chances rather than well worked by a lower league team.

07 Jan 2012 09:23:10
Whats our chance on podolski or demba ba? {Ed002's Note - I don't see any chance of DEmba Ba and I don't know of any interest in Podolski from Liverpool.}

Zero, they are too good for you.

07 Jan 2012 08:54:51
ed rumours in the papers today about jackson martinez, also luuk de jong's agent and father has said that luuk wont be leaving FC Twente.

A. Do you think we will sign martinez?

B. is the de jong deal dead?

thanks
wafa {Ed002's Note - I have no idea about Martinez and the interest will remain in De Jong - perhaps to the summer.}

07 Jan 2012 08:48:56
ed do know any of this jackson martinez is he any good dont really care who comes in as long they do the job {Ed002's Note - I know nothing of him really aside from Porto and Sporting Lisbon have been interested in him very recently.}

07 Jan 2012 08:23:04
Hi ed... apparently were in for Zarate. Seems a bit pointless bringing in a striker who has no goals in 12 games at Inter but I guess we'll just have to see what happens.

Hes on loan from lazio so i very much doubt inter will cancel his loan so he can join us on loan.

BigD {Ed002's Note - Inter were looking to cancel his loan to buy deal but it looks now that he will stay on.}

Ofcourse! Because a multiple-million pound footballer was seen taking the Mersey rail to Bootle New Strand and was conveniently willing to tell you, a complete stranger who he is possibly signing for.

Don't know why people write pointless rubbish like this. What do you really get out of it?

I've just been talking to my mate Mason Bennett who's currently at Derby, if you don't know who he is look him up! he's told me he's close to agreeing a deal with liverpool but won't move until the summer, because he wants to stay at home for a few more months before having to move away just before his 16th birthday. he's also said he turned down united, arsenal and villa all because of one reason, he's a liverpool fan! get ready for him in the summer, he's gonna be a top player!

Nice!

Hate to have u as a mate can't hold you own water.

My mate also knows him so i will ask him and find out

I used to play against him so i hope this is true because he is going to be a great player in the future

I was linesman in a game once for two years below me at school a couple of years ago, for a sports volunteering thing and he wasn't allowed to play because of academy rules or whatever and his school were losing 2-0 at halftime and he convinced the manager to let him go on for a while. he scored 4 goals and even managed to come off for the last 5 or 10 minutes and they ended up winning 4-3, he was unreal, they just gave him the ball he took it round 4 or 5 players then stuck it in the net and he didn't even look like he was playing at full pace!

Eds, have you heard of any interest from us or any other clubs in Moussa Dembele of Fulham? He is a great player {Ed001's Note - there are a number of interested parties looking at him. Spurs are the only Prem team I know of for sure, plus Juve have looked at him too. Other than that I don't know.}
